Tv monitor real jumpy

Yup, I tried searching for my problem; I'm pretty sure I hooked everything up correct. I'm trying to check some footage on a tv monitor (I know, I'm poor) that runs through my miniDV camera S cable then into an external hard drive fire wire 400. I'm using a 1Ghz 15" powerbook with 1G RAM. There is only one fire wire port so the camera runs into the hard drive then into the computer. Video plays fine on the computer, sound comes out of the camera, and video plays on the TV monitor but jumps all over as if there were power serges or something. I've messed around with some of the settings in preferences and nothing fixes the problem. It is set for NTSC 29.97
I've had no problem with all the equipment in the past only I used an emac instead of the powerbook. Is there some crazy setting I'm missing or is it maybe the powerbook?

Perhaps this is your problem, perhaps it is not. A number of people have their camera hung off of HDs and it still works. And the bit about the camera slowing the whole bus to 100mbs is not true. It might be true if you make the camera the FIRST firewire device connected to the computer, but since it is at the end of the chain, the devices infront of it communicate at their rated speed.
What happens if you remove the HDs and have a direct connection to the camera from the computer?
In any case, do yourself a favor and pick up a firewire card (PCMCIA for laptops and PCI for desktops) to isolate the camera from the HDs.

Can't monitor real instrument

I'm running a real instrument into my computer via USB from my mixer. ACE 4710 - Monitoring Real Server Showing N/A

I recently installed a Cisco ACE 4710 version A4(2.0) into our test network. Load balancing across a number of web servers appears to be working ok and serving pages to users. However, when i tried to check the real time stats via device manager (Monitor> virtual contexts> context > Real servers) a number of fields specifically "current connections", "total conns", "failed conns" etc were showing N/A. Do I need to enable this somehow i.e. polling, if so how?

You may try to reboot the entire ACE 4710, probably during a maintenance window, some java process might have gotten stuck.
If the issue persists then open a TAC case since there are some software defects related to this behavior.

Monitor real time sql statement.

Hii All,
I am working on win 7 machine using oracle 11gR2 with tool sql developer.
I am accessing database using VPN from some xyz location.
I want to monitor the sql statements like insert, update when somebody performs operation using front end.
I have done this before in case of oracle forms via toad's sql monitor.
But I can't use toad now, only sql developer.
So please let me know how i can do this.

Is Reference Monitor Real Time?

I never questioned this before but is the reference monitor realtime?
The behavior i get is....
frames update when i scrub
shows color changes
freezes when i plat the SEQ
It has always done that but I was wondering it it could play simultaneously with the SEQ. Its set to composite video now.

Unfortunately, you cannot get live playback from both the Program and Reference Monitors simultaneously. It's a design flaw, in my view, that greatly limits the usefulness of the Reference Monitor. Please let Adobe know you'd like it corrected.

Need suggestion for monitoring tools

Hi experts,
i am in process for finding a best approach for new environment given to me for sql server monitoring purpose.
its sql server 2008 r2 x64 with 32 GB memory and 2008 R2 server OS.
its a small setup and have two production servers only and both two servers are on two node active/passive cluster steup.
i need to implement best monitoring approach in terms of only sql server (not for OS issues), with best monitoring real time reports, automated alerts for disk/log/space/job/server health/deadlock etc issues.
please suggest me any two tools which can be best to go with considering cost and effectiveness and with single licenece only for all servers. can have upto 6 servers including dev/qa and 20 instances on them.

2014 Mac mini doesn't scale the entire HP Envy 32 monitor screen

I recently purchased a HP Envy 32 monitor for use with my 2014 Mac mini with the Iris display. I get 2560x1440 resolution at 60 Hz on both the DP (1.2) as well as the HDMI ports (using the auto-detected HP Envy 32 color profile) but the display doesn't scale the entire screen of the monitor. Is anyone else using this configuration successfully? If so, what have you done to make full use of the 32" monitor real-estate? I simply cannot find any options in Display preferences (Yosemite) to change underscan options or for that matter within the monitor itself. Is there a particular display profile or driver I can use to fix this issue?

I'm using a 4K compatible DP cable connected to the Thunderbolt port and getting to the max resolution of the monitor. So I don't think the issue lies there. I was able to use SwitchResX trial mode to discover an underscan option that allowed me to scale to the entire monitor screen. Assuming SwitchResX is manipulating core OSX functions, I'd assume there is some display related configuration within OSX that I should be able to tweak in order to scale the monitor screen natively in OSX without requiring any 3rd party software. Any thoughts for how to go about tweaking the display natively?

Business Activity Monitoring for BPEL Processes

Hello,
IEP is capable of monitoring real time events, Real time business event collection and processing.
In that case, can we use IEP to monitor BPEL process activities with activity data.
One very big part, the ability to provide functionality for third parties (clients like Me) to register some sort of observer to capture live BPEL process activity, is missing.
I'm trying to cover that big hole in my project. That's the reason I'm posting about BPEL process management capabilities and events.
But I got no concrete answers for that. Not every business use can be provided by any generic system.
I looked at CAM (which comes with Alaska build). But I couldn't get much info about entire picture.
Other BPEL engines, the one I have used, has the functionality to do activity monitoring and process management. (IBM Process server, Apache ODE)
Could any IEP, BPEL component developers answer any sort of solution to my use case?

Monitor settings problem

Hi there!
I've experienced a strange problem related to my LG monitor/Mac Mini. Occasionally the monitor becomes "jumpy", the horizontal lines are visible when I scroll over my dock and also on some animated websites. However, if I go to the display menu and set my monitor to another resolution or orientation etc. and set it back to its original settings again the problem disappears. It seems for me like when the monitor runs in a lower refresh rate. But my monitor has only one option to choose (60Hz).
I use two displays and this problem happens only with my main monitor, the second one works perfectly fine.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Sounds like it could be DVI noise from the way you describe it. What is the size of the LG monitor you have and what resolution is it running at? Is it hooked up by DVI? VGA?
There is a program called SwitchResX that can be used to lower the pixel clock. Sometimes that helps, if it really is DVI noise you are seeing.

Docked X60 - Dual Monitor question

Hi All !
I have an X60 docked on an X6 Ultrabase...I'd like to run a couple of HP 1740 TFT monitors off the laptop (without the integrated screen operational) in the usual FN + F7 fashion.
I thought I might be able to use one of these to split the output and run up both monitors in parallel ? Will this work and detect the dual monitor real estate or do i have no choice but to go with one of these

Window Arrange problem in dual monitors

When attempting to arrange photographs which have been dragged to my primary monitor (entire Photoshop CS6 beta program opens [as I have set it up] in my secondary monitor), the photos are arranged, but moved back to the monitor where Photoshop resides. In Photoshop CS5 and earlier, the photos would stay in the same monitor in which I placed them.

I suppose keeping the main program frame in the desired photo location would work (with the toolbars moved to the second monitor). That would still give me plenty of better-of-the-two monitor real estate, but it really did used to work as I described above.

But I already set up my xorg.conf for that, and used those commands. It didn't work. My xorg.conf right now, though, doesn't have the changes I made because I reinstalled Arch (reinstalled because I started using Kubuntu and decided I preferred Arch).

How to record Real Delivery Dates to Customers?

Hi I am working in the supply chain department of medium sized company, but I am not an SD expert (not even close), but I got a "can't do" answer I would like to discuss with you in this forum.
I am trying to monitor real delivery dates to customers so I can get a real feel of how much time it takes from the day the Sales order is entered in the system to the day it is received by the customer.
I was told by our inhouse SD experts that they do not know a way to record in our SAP ERP 6.0 when a product was really delivered to a customers so we have to rely only in the date the product left the warehouse
As you could imagine I am not happy with that answer, so if you could please let me know whether one can o cannot record such information on the systems (and if yes, how can I pouint SD people to the right place)

It is a part of standard delivered SAP, in fact it is part of LE Module which is a split module from SD. You need to use the Transportation module.
A shipment can have multiple deliveries and yes, it can contain deliveries to several different customers. Shipment is used to:
Combine deliveries into one inbound or outbound shipment
Specify shipment stages
Legs
border crossing points
load transfer points
Assign goods to handling units
Assign service agents
Specify planned transportation deadlines
Record actual transportation deadlines
Specify output required for transportation (such as shipping papers or EDI messages)
Define transport-relevant texts

Jumpy playback with full res HD

I am trying to edit full res HD(1920x1080, 4:2:2). When i am playing the clip in the viewer or the timeline it is real jumpy. Is this a hard drive performance issue? or is it something other then that.

Depends on the Raid controller and the type of drives you have. I have a CalDigit S2VR Duo and can get 148MB/s Raid 0 empty, and 102MB/s 90% full. That is eSATA, and that is not recommended for uncompressed HD. DVCPRO HD, HDV, uncompressed SD, yes. You can purchase eSATA enclosures from OWC or Sonnet and get about that....85-105MB/s. But that doesn't give you a lot of wiggle room. Uncompressed HD requires a 4 drive SATA Raid or better for smooth playback.

Samsung S24A850DW monitor?

Hi Guys
I'm an event/concert photographer currently using a decent enough consumer grade monitor and wanting to upgrade to something more professional.
99% of my output is for the screen, personal websites, social networking - you know the one! LOL! - etc, and probably 75% of my output is B&W.
I'm using Photoshop CS5 and my OS is Win7 Pro 64 Bit.
I've been looking at the Samsung S24A850DW and wondered if anyone here has had any experience with one, or based on its features and spec would you consider it a good "Photoshop monitor."

Actually, I know why my images don't "Snap" (That's a technical term, right?) 90% of the time, it's because the black clipping is set incorrectly. The rest of the time is because the image simply sucks! (another technical term!) It possesses no je ne se quoi in the first place. (no numbers for je ne se quoi...yet!)
Interesting word, histogram. It's concept goes back to at least to nuclear engineering, where we plotted the number of events at a particular energy level over a specific time period. The machines were called multi-channel analyzers, and came in two resolution flavors; 256 channel and 440 channel. (circa 1958) The output display is the histogram we have all come to recognize and love. But, while the histogram of the collection of data points in nuclear physics was complete, in photography, it is incomplete because we truly do not have a map of the real estate, only a path through the real estate defining where the collection of the measured intensities lie. A fuzzy path to be sure. The true histogram would be 3 dimensional, showing the places where all the, say, 4th bit, occurred. However, that may be way to complicated for real world use, but it might be nice to know, just as knowing the distribution of rgb across the monitor real estate would be nice to know for the user. It is vital, imo, for the designer/engineer of the monitor, and accordingly, Eizo makes the effort to know it and to pick the panels that meet their tolerances.
A true map of the monitor would have as many points as the total pixels it contains, a rather large number indeed! So compromise and hope there is no defugalty (another tech term) between measurement points. And besides, once you know, what are you going to do about it? Even from an engineering pov, it's quite an undertaking. Noel, what do you suppose the software would look like were it possible to have real time information on each pixel from the hardware controlled in real time by the software? I might like that because the Red anomaly on my screen probably would vanish..

Of couse, with the measurement tools we do possess as users, we can aproximate the distribution by running the profile software in data collection mode only which some systems provide across the screen in as many points as we can tolerate spending the time, then plot to values in Excel. But then what?
So a glimpse into what can occur when you ask "Why?" To which most would counter with: "Why ask why? Or, iow, it's good enough.

Recording audio with mic monitoring

Hi friends!
The last months i have been studing if it´s posible to recording mic input to stream server, at sametime you can ear your voice in real time.
I have used:
mic.setLoopBack(true)
But it´s a lot of lag since you talk until you hear yours voice.
Do you think is posible to make mic monitoring real time with flash player?
i have try too:
mic.addEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, micSampleDataHandler);
Saving mic info into Array, to use that like a sound to play at sametime... The idea is good but there is lag again :-(
I need a solution to all navigators and also OS: Mac and Windows (linux not enough...)

No I don't believe this is possible. There's quite a bit that audio is going through before you get it. The OS gets the audio first and then must check what registered to receive the data. The OS passes off the audio to the Flash runtime, possibly getting intercepted by misc audio drivers for various reasons. The Flash runtime accepts the audio if permitted and must conform it to a format it can work with internally. At that point you're already lagged and you just got the audio into Flash. Even the loopback goes through all of those steps (and more). You're dealing with a runtime in Windows which comes with some performance hits. You'll definitely never add all the encoding, streaming, reception, decoding and playback over the internet in realtime either. Even Ventrilo can't perform that.
