TV no longer connects to wireless internet after installation of Airport Time Capsule

TV no longer connects to wireless Wi-Fi internet after installation of AirPort Time Capsule.

I am having a similar problem with a new TIme Capsule. The wifi on the Time Capsule was working fine for months with all devices, iPhone 4s, iPad Air, iMac Air, Mac mini, and vizio smart TVs.  After a recent software update the Time capsule wifi no longer connects to the smart tvs or the iPhones. It still connects to the mac mini, iPad and iMac Air. I do NOT think the software update timing was just coincidental. But I have not found any information or other users confirming a similar problem on the Apple support site.

  • MacBook Pro loses connection to Internet after sleep using Airport Time Capsule

I recently upgraded to Mavricks and then added a new Airport Time Capsule, and now I my MBP will not connect to the wireless LAN after waking up from sleep mode.  My MBP worked great for over a year with an non-Apple router, so I am thinking that there is a new Apple computer-to-Apple Router issue going on. Any thoughts, suggestions?
I read all the threads and have followed all the simple advice, such as making sure the Airport is at the top of the network priority list, etc, to no avail.  I end up having to reboot my MBP to get reconnected, which is super frustrating.

    Hello ghesser,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro after setting up your Time Capsule.  I would be concerned about this too.
I recommed reviewing the full article and specifically the section labeled, "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly" in the following article to resolve an issue like the one you described:

  • I cannot connect to the Internet after installation of Windows Vista Ultimate edition.

I cannot connect to the Internet after installation of Windows Vista Ultimate edition. For some odd reason, it seems my ethernet has not yet been installed to my operating system and I do not know how to do that even with the internet, I have the LAN cable hooked up to my computer but I do not know exactly what to do about it. Is there some sort of driver I need to install, or what? How do I do that without the internet?
This operating system is on a separate partition to my other operating system that is connected to internet already (Windows Vista Premium) that I do not wish to use anymore because of it's corruption. I tell you this because you may know a way of finding the driver files on my previous operating system that I may be able to transfer to the other.

  • I have just update my MacBook to Snow Leopard 10.6.3.  Unfortunately I can not now connect to the internet.  I have a time capsule that is connected to a router.  This is working with other devices but if I try to connect with the MB everything stops?

I have updated my MB to Snow Leopard 10.6.3 - I know this means I am a little behind the times but the problems I am now having seem to justify my reluctance.  Now am unable to connect to the internet!  I use a time capsule connected via a router.  Everything is still OK with every other device (PC, I phone, Ipod) in the house so I know the "Network" is still enabled and there is no problem with the ISP.  Strangley whenever I boot up the MB it appears to freeze the network such that the other devices also will then not access the internet.  To regain access I have to turn off the MB and reset the router.  Any help gratefully recieved as I have tried some of the ideas i have found in the internet but nothing is working.  Thanks.

    That's odd.
Try this: Unplug your Time Capsule and your router. On your MBP, click the Wi-Fi icon and select "Open Network Preferences".
Click the lock icon to authenticate, then click the "gear" and select "set service order". Wherever AirPort (or Wi-Fi - I forget what Snow Leopard calls it) appears, drag it elsewhere in the list. Click OK, then Apply, then power up your router and TC.
If that doesn't result in any change, repeat the above but try making the service(s) you do not need "inactive".
The purpose of this is to reset or at least change your Network Preferences, which somehow got confused upon upgrading to SL.

  • WRT54G ver. 6 can no longer connect to the internet after reset

I reset my WRT54G ver. 6 to clear the password, and now I can no longer connect to the internet with it. I can see the router itself from my PC, but that is all. I've followed the directions here for connection problems, but I can't seem to get an IP Address for it in the Web Configuration tool. Anybody have any thoughts?

Since you reset your router, you need to reconfigure it back again. try the online utility that automates the configuration. download Easy Link Connect utility at www.linksys.com/connect then download "Netset" and follow instructions.
if not Easy Link connect didnt work then you need to do the configuration manually.
    1. check physical connection modem should be connected wired to internet port of the router then PC to numbered ports of the router.
    2. Brighthouse i believe is cable connection, right? try power cycle your devices (turn off modem and router then turn on modem 1st then router next). check if your online.
    3. if not. check PC ip. click "start" then "run" type in "cmd" then press "OK". the command prompt should pop-up. type "ipconfig" and check IP and gateway. you should be getting an ip: 192.168.1.x and gateway: 192.168.1.1
    4. access router. open IE, then type in http://192.168.1.1 on address bar.
    5. you will be prompted with username and PW. "admin" is the default password. on setup, just below are subtabs. select "MAC address clone". in it, set "mac clone" to "enable" then click on "clone" then "save settings".
    6. power cycle devices again. try to go online
note: if you dont have latest firmware. try updating if needed

  • Cannot see NAS units after upgrading to Airport Time Capsule.

I just upgraded my router from a D-link DIR 655 to a new Airport Time Capsule and I cannot no longer see access my Drobo NAS units.
    http://www.drobo.com/products/professionals/drobo-fs/
I am using Mountain Lion OS 10.8.5.  I know when using OS 10.8.5 I have to ensure that DDServiced and DDServiced64 are Allowed.  I have done this in the routers settings.
    http://store.apple.com/ca/product/ME177AM/A/airport-time-capsule-2tb
I cannot see the NAS units on my PC (Windows) either.
My internet works (wirelessly and physicall) so the router is connecting to my modem correctly.  However I cannot access these NAS units nor their shared holders on any comptures or wireless devices in my house.
Is the Airport Time Capsule the issue here?  Is it compatible with the Drobo FS NAS?
    Thanks

I am running the latest version of Drobo Dashbloard on both my Mac and PC 2.5.2.
I only see DDServiced64 under Apple Symbol to top left of Menu\System Preference\Security and Privacy\Firewall\Firewall Options.
Given that I cannot see the Drobos on either my Mac or PC I am wondering if:
    1) is the new Apple Airport Time Capsule causing problems; or
    2) is the Norton Antivirus that is on my PC conflicting with a setting on the Apple Airport Time Capsule
None of this was a problem when I used the previous router (D-link DIR 655).  I could access both Drobos on both my Mac (wirelessly) and PC (physically connected to the the same router as Drobos via network cables).
When I was using my D-link DIR 655 I was using DCHP and using static IP Addresses for all my devinces in my house.  Now when I changed my router over to the Apple Airport Time Capsule I did not opt to use DCHP.  Could this be an issue.  Note I am not having any problem with any of the other wireless devices in my house.  I can see all my Sonos wireless music equipment.  However I cannot see the two Drobos that are physically connected to my Apple Airport Time Capsule.
    Thanks

  • Using 3G internet in network with Airport Time Capsule

I am struggling to get all devices in my home network to connect to the internet through 3G cell network.
I have an iMac connected to APTC with ethernet and a Macbook Air and Apple TV connecting to APTC with wireless. I have a USB dongle plugged into the iMac with 3g internet connection. In preferences->sharing I enabled internet sharing from the 3g over ethernet. The problem is that the APTC and the Apple TV don't seem to connect to the internet when I enter my AppleID for BackToMyMac or home sharing. The iMac and Macbook Air are both able to access the internet normally.
I have left the default DHCP and NAT setting on and DHCP for all other devices. I checked what IP address the different connections have and the IMac ethernet was 10.0.1.2, the APTC ethernet was 10.0.1.1, APTC wireless showed 168.254.x.x, Apple TV had 10.0.1.5 and the Macbook was 192.168.1.2. Why are the autoconfig IP address not all in the same range and why can 2 devices connect and 2 not, especially since the 2 that can connect are in different IP ranges?

The issue here is that Internet Sharing has your iMac on one network subnet, and the iMac is sending out a signal for other devices that is on another network subnet. Devices can connect to the Internet, but they cannot "see" each other from one subnet to the next.
In other words, if you enable Internet Sharing, you cannot "extend" the network that the Mac is using for its own Internet connection to other devices.....which is what you need to do to have all devices on the same subnet.
I think you need to drop the idea about Internet Sharing on the Mac since it cannot do what you want to do.
If you do not need BTMM, then a router like Jan suggests would likely work if it will provide enough IP addresses for all of your devices.  You would come out of the Ethernet port on the router and connect that to the WAN port on the Time Capsule and set it up to operate in Bridge Mode.
Another option that might work would be to configure the Time Capsule as a router behind another router. This will create a Double NAT error on the network, but it might work if you connect all of your devices to the network that the Time Capsule creates.

  • I am having an issue with connecting my external hard drive to my airport time capsule.

I just recently purchased the new AirPort Time Capsule.  The network set-up easily.  However, when I connected my external hard drive (via USB) to it, the external hard drive does not show up in my Finder and I am otherwise unable to access the external hard drive from any computer connected the the network.  When I plug the external hard drive in directly to my iMac, the external hard drive is recognized right away and I am able to access all folders.  Any tips?

Check to make sure that the drive is formatted in Mac OS Extended Journaled or FAT32.
If the drive is formatted correctly and recognized by the Time Capsule, it will appear when you open AirPort Utility and click on the Disks tab.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit
Click the Disks tab at the top of the next page
If the drive is formatted correctly and not recognized, you will likely need to use a powered USB hub with the drive....even if the drive has its own power supply, since the USB port on the Time Capsule tends to be underpowered.

  • Can no longer connect to wireless router after upgrading to iTunes 9.2

My wireless connection was fine (using MacBook). After upgrading iTunes, I can not longer connect to router/modem wirelessly - am tethered with an ethernet cable. Spent 1 1/2 hours on phone with AT&T support reseting the passwords, security, etc. A PC laptop accepts password and can connect. My iPhone still can connect. But my MacBook (OS X 10.6) will not recognize my password for the modem/router. Everything has been re-booted and reset to original settings. Also, I received an iPad yesterday and it won't accept the password for our home wireless network. The password is correct because I am using it on other devices that are connecting to the network. Any ideas?

Yes, but the issue is not with Lion directly; there seems to be something with the upgraded system, perhaps a legacy setting or pref... I've scoured the system to no avail. I'm actually about to reinstall 10.6 - wasted too much time on this issue.
    Thanks for your help.

  • My iPad 2 will no longer connect to the internet after iOS 6 update

HELP!! My iPad doesny connect tot the internet anymore. I down loaded iOS 6 today (9/19/12) and now it doesnt connect tot the internet anymore.

    Hello dchoffa,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I would start with this troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If the above troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, I would next try the troubleshooting in one of the other sections down toward the bottom that fits your scenario.
    Regards,
    Sterling

    Welcome to the discussion area!
Just a hunch. The Sony and iBook may not be able to handle WPA2 Personal Security, which is the default Security setting of the Time Capsule.
Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Change the setting for Wireless Security to WPA/WPA2 Personal
    Update to save settings
    Any luck?

Has anyone found a successful method to connect?  This is not a router issue as other devices, including another iPad not updated to ios 5 connects just fine.  I am getting frustrated

I had this problem.  I held down the power switch to power down completely.  Takes a few seconds.  Then use the power switch to turn on.  Might take a couple goes.

  • Airport will not connect to the Internet after putting the airport into nat porting and putting the Xbox 360 ports in

When trying to set up port forwarding for Xbox, I lost Internet when I updated the new settings. When I removed the port forwarding and unchecked the nat box, the Internet ip came back. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a chance to bring it in to the Genius bar today. My worst fear was that after everything I had tried, it would work at the store. It did. ("Are you sure you plugged it into the port with the circle?") Luckily, it died after about 2 minutes, which apparently was what it had been doing. So the Genius worked on it. And worked on it. After my 8 hours of troubleshooting, it was almost worth it to see a Genius stumped. A half hour later, he decided that the Airport was toast, as I had suspected. It would cost him $300 to order a replacement, so he said to just get a new Airport. The new Airports are not cheap. We ended up getting a Linksys WRT54G for 50 bucks, and I set that up in a few minutes. I got a cool-looking broken Airport out of the deal, though, which will look awesome, even if it doesn't work.

  • I have trouble getting my new Apple TV 2 to work to the internet. I have an Imac with OsX 10.6.8 using a 3G modem to connect to the internet. I have a Time Capsule with Airport. I can't get the Apple TV to see my internet connection

I have an Imac with OSX 10.6.8 dual intel core.
    Apple TV 2
    Timecapsule
3G modem connected to iMac for internet access.
I have tied to get Apple TV2 to see the inernet but it does not seem to see the inernet connection either via the Airport network or even if I connect it directly with a ethernet cable to the Timecapsule or the iMac.
I have tired to set up Home Sharing but it doen't see the Itunes Store so no go.
I don't have wired internet but it is probably something to do with using a 3G modem
Any tips on how I can check if the TV coonect to internet and what to do about this problem?
I was trying to connect my HD TV earlier using a WiFi USB modem but it could not see my iMac. Apple Support told me to buy an Apple TV but that is not helping as I can't see anything there either.
    Regards from Michael

Thank you so much Paul_31 for your suggestions, HUGELY appreciate the effort
I have reset the printing system, a few times for good measure but nadda.
I have also looked at getting the software from the Apple site after seeing that with Snow Leopard you should let the operating system lead the install not the manufacteurers software as it is most likely out of date.  I too found it wasn't there so I uninstalled the software got up the CLX_3300 series stuff then went from there with the USB cable.  It apparently hasn't worked either
Unfortunately now after using the print utility to scan for a while that has now gone again on the last restart of the Mac.  I am so completely clueless
The box says the printer is compatible, the place of purchase said it was compatible, the Samsung site says it is compatible.
I think it's the set up of my Mac? Our maybe a glitch in the network settings?
    Thanks again

  • Apple TV no longer connects to the internet

New AppleTV no longer connects to wireless network after lightning storm knocked out power.
Turned off security on TimeCapsule and reset AppleTV, but still self-assigns an IP (169.254.xxx.xxx) and appears to detect an ethernet connection even though no cable is connected.
Multiple iPhones, iPads and computers connect to my Time Capsule's WiFi networks (guest as well), but no go w/ the AppleTV.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
