TV@nywhere A/D NB : Bad DVB-t video/sound

Hi all.
just bought a TV@nywhere A/D NB  for use with an old notebook i own (acer aspire 1662wlmi/P4 @ 3Ghz/1GB ram/Ati mobility9700 64Mb ram).
The radio and and the analog Tv works like a charm but the DVB-t video is very crapy. Is keeps losing a lot of frames, mostly it freezes and the audio is not contitious.I tryed to use drivers for compatible cards but it does the same.
Am i missing something (a codec maybe) ? I have installed (some months before the cards purchase) the ccc codec and also the nimo codec package. Is there any chance that these codecs interfere withe the codecs the Viewer uses for DVB-t video ?
I am thinking that maybe the VGA is old and slow but i would like to have your opinions...
Thanks alot.

nope , it isn't.And i say so because with the very same antenna (central bulding antenna) and with the same cable it worked fine at my media center pc through a pci to pcmcia adapter. It worked with both MSI and Lifeview drivers/apps.
At this media center i have installed also the above mendioned codec packs. No need to do anything more than the driver and apps installations.Scan for channels and that was it....Worked.

I had the same problem on my iPad v2 IOS 7. But it sorted itself after a hard reset (power and home button) followed by a soft rest ( just  power) . I lost all sound at this point. Then restarted again with a hard reset.
Hope that fixes your iPad v2

I've never had any problems with mine ever. The only freeze I've had was from a file I recorded on tivo, cut commericals out in movie maker and then re-encoded to the lowest possible bit rate that that zens nati've resolution supports. Try turning your sensitivity in the touch pad down. Sometimes if you have it up to high you may have a chance of doing that (although I have only had slow response, instead of a freeze by doing that).
You also have to compare to all of the other products out there: Ipod and Zune are a lot worse with pathetic little problems (annoyances). I didn't pay for tech support?

  • Convert DVB-S video to iPhone 4 format

    Hi.
I have some DVB-S (satellite recording, MPEG2, MP2) SD video footage which I'd like to convert into a format readable by iPhone (MP4, AAC). The source material is 720x576 (PAL). As a reminder, iPhone 4 has native 960x640 pixels.
So far, I used Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate to convert the video to 960x640, but I don't really like the idea too much because I blow up the original resolution. IMHO this is not very wise since I don't get better video by stretching it.
    Questions:
Shall I leave the original resolution (720x576) and let the iPhone do the upscaling to its 960x640 (this would make the video smaller)?
What aboiut iPhone CPU load (hence battery load) when it needs to upscale?
Is there any dedicated software (preferentially freeware) which is better suited than Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate?
So ... which resolution should I consider in my situation?
    Many thanks,

Personally I would leave it in the original. If I'm not mistaken can't you double tap the screen while the video is playing to toggle between full screen and native so if you aren't satisfied with the full screen you should be able to revert back to native(I'm not 100% sure about that). The IOs seems to do a decent job at stretching videos to fit the screen in my opinion.
I say give it a shot before you blow it up. If you're really worried about picture quality the converters you pay for are almost always better than the free ones.

  • Could Bad RAM Cause Video Problems in 1st Gen 24" iMac

I have been having video problems with my 1st Gen 24" iMac over the past 6 months, but recently the machine wouldn't turn on at all. I left it at my local Apple Store to be diagnosed and they said that it was just a bad stick of RAM (not a big deal, its cheap these days). But what I forgot to ask them was, could that bad RAM be causing the video problems I've been having or is it the video card also?
    Thanks!

Are you still having video problems since the ram was replaced? If the problem went away then it was the cause, it not then something else is.

  • Bad performance of video convertion from .avi to .mp4

I use QT Pro v7.0.3 to convert avi video to mp4. The mp4 quality is bad. I am unsure if mp4 movie is bad in quality or QT Pro is bad in convertion. As iPod selects to support mp4 video, the quality should be of an acceptable one, otherwise, it just damages iPod reputation. It is my first time to watch mp4 video but the impression is not to bother at all - worse than vCD. Is there any one using mp4 video? Any comments!
    Thanks,
    Ray

I set my QT avi to mp4 conversion to 2500 kbits/sec, current image size, current frame rate, and it's still worse than the original avi. FAR worse.
I've given up on encoding my avi's to play from my iPod. It just stinks, so I'm not sure what to tell ya... just that you are not alone in your observation. They look OK for play on the iPod, but playing from the iPod to anything else, like say a TV, it's not worth it. It seems to be better to just play the avi via some other means on the TV, because the conversion is seriously sub par.

  • Bad levels in video! She's going toward the light!

    Hi all,
In a tape of my mom from an earlier family visit, she's sitting in front of a window. I was just learning to use my camera and the settings were off, washing out the window into just light, changing at various times with the sun.
Now she's getting up there in years, no doubt, but she's not ready to go into the light yet. =) She looks like she's being abducted by aliens.
Can this be fixed at all? Or am I screwed? She's not washed out, in fact she looks good - she's properly lit, just the window behind her is bad.
BTW to all who responded to my post re: the black slug awhile back, I just got back in and marked your posts for points - have not had a chance to get back here as I've been off the board but I didn't forget you! Thanks very much! =)

    hi everyone,
thanks for your responses. I was able to correct it just a bit with the 3way color corrector. Not perfect, but better. Acceptable--? Not really but better than nothing. I bumped the highlights down and brought the midranges up just a tiny bit.
I tried to minimize her face time by editing in a lot of photographs over her narration. There were clips where the levels were good so I mostly used those.
Dave, thanks for offering to look at a clip. I meant to get that out to you.
Hate to have this happen on my mom's video biography, but it's probably better to make the mistake there than to make it on a client's project.
    Thanks again y'all =)
edit -- why won't this thing let you mark 'solved' on more than one post, if they both mention the solution? That's annoying. Well sorry guys :-/
Now it won't let me mark the rest of the posts as helpful -
    Oh well

  • Bad thumbnail on video import after rotation

I rotated a video using Quicktime. When I imported it into iPhoto, the movie is fine, but the thumbnail is corrupt. It is sorta tiled from the upper right to the lower left. I've seen this before, but it's been so long that I don't recall the details. Does anyone know what caused this or how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Thad

You can try rebuilding the library with all the options selected. That will rebuild the thumbnails but will take a while.
I'd first try exporting the original file out of iPhoto and import it again to see if the thumbnail is still bad. If that's the case rebuilding may not fix it and will just take up a lot of time.
    OT
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

Patience Yuz this forum has no input from MSI so you have to wait until someone, somewhere else in the world is awake.
Regards to MSIPVS yes it is awful and there has been quite some discussion within this section of the forum and the survey section as to the problems with this software. It is not only MSIPVS that is at fault the drivers also need some work. On some PC`s MSIPVS causes crashes but by far the biggest complaint is the poor display. Also MSIPVS or the card/drivers not sure which, will not remember it`s locale, every time it is started it will go back to the default in my case it seams to be PAL_B and some times to NTSC my locale is the UK and the TV setting should be PAL_I but getting to stay on PAL_I is a big problem. It makes it hard to schedule a recording as it will probably start in the wrong format. I agrre with you that feeware software is better than MSIPVS.
Thanks to your previous post I can confirm that you have sorted the remote`s missing functions.
Now all we need to get the drivers and MSIPVS sorted.

  • Audio bad: Sony analog video, RCAs into converter, firewire into PowerBook

    Using iMovie HD 5.0.2 and OS X 10.4.9 on a PowerBook G4.
Importing video from a Sony analog video camera by running an RCA cable for video and an RCA cable for audio from the Sony camera into a Formac converter. From the converter I run a FireWire line into the PowerBook. With this set-up, iMovie captures the video okay, but the audio is only a rapid buzz; sounds like a perfectly regular square wave.
I can confirm that the audio signal is being sent from the Sony camera through the converter and on into the FireWire cable by using the same hardware set-up but using Final Cut Express to capture the movie. But I don't want to work in FCE, I want to work in iMovie.
What might be going wrong with the audio capture in iMovie?
    several   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
As far as I remember, some of the Formacs (..I've never used one, but there was talk of this here..) exhibited this "chainsaw buzz" around the time that iMovie was upgraded to Version 4, I think.
(..Something to do with Formac's non-stringent interpretation of the Firewire spec, perhaps..)
Formac did post info about it on their website, and offered two kinds of upgrade; a firmware download/upgrade for some models ..which you could do yourself.. and a factory upgrade for others.
I don't know if they still offer either of these options, sorry..

  • Bad Quality: Shared videos

Is anyone else experiencing a very pixelated version of there videos after being sent through MMS? My sister sent me a video and the quality was beyond horrible. I sent her one of mine and when I watched the "sent version" and the quality decreased by ~30%. Sadness. (I'm hoping Palm reads these things. I'm new to this so I can only hope.)

Open one of the videos from outside iPhoto with Quicktime Player and see if it's as good as before.  Since iPhoto uses Quicktime for it's rendering and playing it shouldn't be different, inside or out.
If it is different inquire in the Quicktime discussions as there will some experts there that can help you.

  • Badly scrambled images, video content with Friefox 13.0.1

The problem started with the latest 13.0.1 Firefox update from a couple of days ago:
When scrawling a tab, with Youtube content running, the player's window edges disappear partially, and take a long time to appear back and straighten out. Sometimes the images would appear split and doubled. (Due to frames stacking slowly?) See screenshot:
And this happens right away after starting the browser. (Not after hours of browsing, I mean.)
On top of that, the adobe player plugin crashes constantly, even with just only one tab running, ever since this update.
(The problem is not there with IE 9 which is the only other browser on the computer.)
My (6 months old) laptop specs:
    Dell XPS 15 (L502X), 2.5 GHz, 6GB RAM.
    Running Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit.
No extras or third party software on the computer.
(An aside question: Is there a way to attach screen shots here with the queries?: It is tedious to type out a list of plugins.

Have you reviewed the general guidance on problems with Flash 11.3 in Firefox?
    * [[Flash 11.3 crashes]]
    * [[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox]]
Regarding display issues when scrolling, you also could you try disabling Firefox's graphics hardware acceleration.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Then restart Firefox and test again.
Flash also has its own graphics acceleration feature. If you right-click a Flash player and choose Settings, you can enable/disable it on the first "tab" (Display settings).
Finally, to address the screen shot issue, you can post them in a reply to your original question if you like. Eventually I expect that feature to be added to the initial question form.

  • Bad NASA TV video on G3 900mHz iBook

    Greetings.
Has anyone else come across this on NASA TV? ( http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html)
Recently I discovered that NASA TV was looking horrible, with blurry double-imaged herringbone-like images. Never acted like this before when I dropped by for other launches. I don't know of any other sites to test this with, though YouTube does just fine!
My 900mHz 10.3.9 G3 iBook uses Quicktime 7.5, Flip4Mac 2.2.1.1 (actually gets worst with latest versions) and Windows Media Player 9.0. Also, this occurs with my 10.4.11 partition with the latest in QT and Flip4Mac.
    Any clues?
    Thanks!
    Jim

there are some embedded stream links in the site's code. try these in quicktime or VLC (tho the latter one may only work under windoze, I'm away from the macs right now ;):

Sorry for bringing up this old thread, but I just wanted to say that the TV@nywhere card DOES NOT support stereo in PAL regions either. In theory it should, as you are the right the chip they used is supposed to support Nicam stereo. However, up receiving this card and attempting to get stereo sound, it simply doesn't work, I can tell you know. Mono works fine, if you switch to stereo, you just get bad, unlistenable, undecipherable distorted sound. One day perhaps MSI will release drivers that actually make stereo work for PAL, but I'm not sure if I want to hang around... I've order the Pixelview PlayTV HD, which uses this same chip, and aparently does actually do stereo. You NTSC people might like to investigate the Pixelview PlayTV PVR card, which is the same as the HD but for NTSC.
