Patience Yuz this forum has no input from MSI so you have to wait until someone, somewhere else in the world is awake.
Regards to MSIPVS yes it is awful and there has been quite some discussion within this section of the forum and the survey section as to the problems with this software. It is not only MSIPVS that is at fault the drivers also need some work. On some PC`s MSIPVS causes crashes but by far the biggest complaint is the poor display. Also MSIPVS or the card/drivers not sure which, will not remember it`s locale, every time it is started it will go back to the default in my case it seams to be PAL_B and some times to NTSC my locale is the UK and the TV setting should be PAL_I but getting to stay on PAL_I is a big problem. It makes it hard to schedule a recording as it will probably start in the wrong format. I agrre with you that feeware software is better than MSIPVS.
Thanks to your previous post I can confirm that you have sorted the remote`s missing functions.
Now all we need to get the drivers and MSIPVS sorted.

  • TV@nywhere Master Recording Problems

The TV@nywhere Master works fine for viewing, but I can't record without problems.  There is a sound problem with all available versions of WinDVR.  The recorded sound regularly "warbles" or pulsates. It is detectable when a musical tone is playing, otherwise it may be hard to hear. It is very annoying once you pick up on it.  Other interVideo programs WinProducer and WinDVD Recorder exhibit the same problem.
I tried PowerVCR and I get an error message when attempting to record in MPEG2:
S0009 : Unable to render preview video stream.
I have all the latest drivers and software versions. I even tried a clean install of Windows several times and a different sound card, but no luck. I'm getting nowhere with tech support. Very frustrating.
    ASUS A7N8X Deluxe MB
Onboard nForce2 sound (also tried Soundblaster Audigy)
    AMD 2800+ Barton CPU
    512MB DDR RAM
    GeForce 5600 Video Card
    250 Gig Hard drive
    Windows XP

Using PowerVCR II 3.0, and there is no Use Smart Tee option available.
    Here's all the options:
    Video -> Overlay Options -> Overlay/Non-Overlay  (Non-overlay causes a crash)
    Profiles
Check boxes for MMX, SSE, 3DNow and Enhanced 3DNow.  All are checked.
Recording / Advanced -> Advanced Options
Video Smoothing (during recording) - unchecked
Intelligent Noise Removal (during recording)  checked
Enable Time-Shifting when recording  - unchecked
Have tried changing most of these settings but always get error message, unless I use MPEG1 which is not acceptable quality.
I did a search in Help for "Smart" and for "Tee" and there are no matches.

  • TV @nywhere Line-In Problem

I have a tv tuner card that I have been using for the past few months to play ps2 on my pc. I just had a RAID-0 Card installed on my pc, and now when I try to use the MSI PVS software to play games, I get video from my ps2, but the sound comes from the coax cable and not from my ps2.
When I hook it all up, I have the ps2 S-Video connected to the TV card, and I have the composite sound plugged into an RCA to Stereo converter and then connected to the line-in on the TV card. I have tested my ps2 on a tv, and it works properly, and I have tried connecting other devices to the TV card's line-in and I have gotten no sound.  ;(
I was wondering if anyone has had a problem like this or knows how to fix it. I think it might be an IRQ conflict, but windows xp doesn't detect it, and its a pain in the @$$.
    Thanks.

Well, what you said is a workaround, but it doesn't solve the problem that MSI TV@nywhere does not work as described/designed.
For example, if the TV@nywhere has a SVHS/RCA-in, and it don't work. The workaround is to use a TV for that, but that totally defeat the point of having a TV-card. (of course I'm exaggerating, but I hope MSI can provide some *real* solution to the mistakes they made.

  • TV@nywhere Plus Cable problem

    Hello folks...
I have recently gotten a TV@nywhere Plus card and installed it in my machine.  It scans for channels and seems to find them, but the picture quality is terrible.  However,  If I choose antenna as the input it picks up the channels 2 to 12 and the picture is great! (I don't have an antenna connected, so the signal just is picked up out of the air) But, as soon as I choose the Cable input it sucks.  I live in Canada and my machine is an AMD 1800+ with a MSI KT3 Ultra motherboard, 1 GB of RAM, a MSI FX 5500 viodeo card, Running XP Home with service pack 2 and all updates applied
    Hope someone can help,
    Nets

Lets start from the bottom and work up. Have you eliminated the cable & splitter hookup as the source of the problem by connecting to a TV? I had a problem similar to that when I first installed my TV@Plus and I had to remove/re-install the software and get a new cable & splitter before I could get it work.. No you don't need to use RG6. It does not hurt to have better but it's not a requirement.

  • TV@nywhere Dual Monitor Problem

I have the regular TV@nywhere card.. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have a dual monitor setup (extended desktop) on an ATI 9000 pro.. At some point over the last few months I began having problems dragging the WinDVR (player) window from one monitor to the other, resulting in the WinDVR process hanging, or an insta-crash of my system. It used to work fine...
I am assuming it might have something to do with one of 30 or so ATI patches that I installed since the last driver update from MSI. On a positive note, with the newest ati patch, the computer doesn't crash anymore, but the app still hangs (except for the audio which will NOT stop, lol)

  • MSI TV@nywhere A/D problem

Hi, I have been having problems with my MSI TV@nywhere A/D card. I downloaded the latest driver (It stopped working properly) and tried to install it but I said I had the latest version of AVhybrid and refused to install. So I uninstalled AVHybrid and tried to reinstall it but I said it had a problem with AVhybrid and refused to install. So I downloaded the MSI TV@nywhere V1.1 drivers and it installed. I then tried to install the other drivers but it said that I had the latest AVhybrid and refuses to install the drivers. It says it cannot find any devices to update.

    i've got the same problem.
TV @nywhere A/D 1.1 PCI card that wont show Digital TV in Hyper Media Center Application. It shows analog TV but no Digital.
Did you get a solution for your card or is it a lemon?

  • Tv@nywhere .INF driver problem

in control panel/system/device manager it shows unknown device when i try to find the driver i can't find it i have looked on the cd that came with the card and the windows 98 se cd

Under what section is the unknown driver displayed?
    do you have;
    MSI audio capture
    MSI crossbar
    MSI Tuner
    MSI Video capture
    in the device manager?
The devices may have the model number of the TV@nywhere within the device name I.E.MSI 8606 Tuner.
If all the above are theer then it is not a TV@nywhere device that is Unknown.
I am guessing but if any I suspect that the Audio Capture Device will be missing. If it is just double click on the Unknown Device and when the window pops up select install automatically. Make sure the TV@nywhere CD is in the driver, it should find and install the driver.
If that does not work select "from disk" and still with the CD in the drive, find the driver using the browse button. When you find the correct folder (on my CD they are under  DriverMSIPVS) click OK.
It is long times since I updated drivers on a W98 so excuse any mis-direction in updating an unknown driver, but the above info should give enough guidance to perform the task.

  • TV @nywhere with WinXP problem

    Symptoms:
Display freezes after about 30 seconds, need to reset the system.
on boot the program also freezes and need to end task the process.
I originally had a Win2k install and everything was nice and peachy on there.  Then I up-graded to WinXP with all the same hardware and such.
Re-installed drivers and PVS aswell as all the up-dates.
Symptoms above are very predictable also, launch program and wait for crash.
Haven't even been able to go through the entire setup process of configuring the program.
I was just wondering if anyone else has experianced this problem and would be able to help me in fixing this issue.
    Thanks,
    LiGGyMaN

It`s a patch Microsoft released to fix a flaw in NTSC-J, PAL, and SECAM TV Tuner support introduced by the DirectX 9.0b release
you can find it here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8dfd1b6d-e177-4a0e-91d0-b4310675b02b&displaylang=en
after I installed it the tuner finally started to work and I was able to use other progs and trash MSIPVS.

  • MSI @ANYWHERE MASTER BLUE SCREEN ON TV

    hi
today i bought a MSI @NYWHERE MASTER, radio and composite works ok, but when i try to use the tv only i see a blue screen in MSIPVS, and the software can´t recognize any channel from my cable tv, only i can see a blue screen.
i´m in argentina and the tv signal is PAL-N

The MSI TV@nywhere Master (MS-8606) does have driver problems which affect some more than others.
My TV@nywhere Master driver problems are not as severe as yours. There are others I have talked to that have had problems get the card to tune in correctly but only to certain channels. I may be lucky that the channels affected are not used in my area (PAL-I UK), but even so if I wish to use the TV@nywhere Master with any other software (including WinDVR 3 the so called upgrade to MSIPVS) they will not work unles MSIPVS has been run first. Even after MSIPVS has been run there is no guarantee that the tuner will find any channels (like WinDVR 3. The card is no problem when SVideo or Composite inputs are used but this defeats the objective of a TV Tuner card. MSI may argue that MSIPVS works and it does for me but at the cost of a poor display of the "Invincible Video Quality" promised by MSI.
You are able to see the true video quality capabilties of this card by using other software and using one of the Video in options but to watch live TV via MSIPVS is very distracting. The display from MSIPVS whilst playing back live TV (OK on playback of recorded TV) is spoilt by the amount of jaggies, this seams to be cause by every 8-16th scan line either moving a few pixel from the previous 8-16 lines or by the complete absense of 2 or 3 scan lines every 8-16 lines. Either way it is very distracting to watch and destroys the pleasure of watching live TV.
All the problems with the TV@nywhere Master (MS-8606)are related to the Drivers and the supplied software. I will not recommend this card to anyone unless their main use is to capture video or do not intend to watch live TV. If MSI rectify these "flies in the ointment" they would have a TV card that would be hard to beat.

  • TV @anywhere sound issue

Mobo is a MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR using onboard sound.  The TV board is a TV @nywhere (MS-8876), and I am running Windows XP Pro SP1.  I have installed the driver updates from MSI, but I have a peculiar problem.  When the program is fired up, everything is normal.  When I change channels, the audio goes out, and no amount of fiddling will bring it back.  Closing the program and restarting it will bring back the audio, but once you change channels it is gone again.  I am running the sound out from the back of the TV card into the Line in on the motherboard.
    Any ideas?

You must be an NTSC user, The newer TV@nywhere Master (8606) is said to work fine in stereo on NTSC but the older plain TV@nywhere does have problems . If you read the stick at the top of this forum you will find a work around that allows you to get stereo.
BTW the TV@nymhere Master has plenty of problems of it`s own so your choice of the older model was probably wise if you were determine to have an MSI TV card. Both cards could be much improved (work as advertised) by better drivers and software from MSI.

  • Problem with tv@nywhere plus on windows 8

    hi
i have a problem with tv@anywhere plus on windows 8. i can setup the pvr plus app completely but when i open that and click on "watch and record dtv program" icon, i will see an error that says: "invalid class string!"
i think this problem should be for its driver because i'm using windows 8 64bit and the driver is for windows 7, i couldn't find an appropriate driver for windows 8 on MSI driver downloads, as matter of fact it didn't exist.
so what should i do for my problem?

I'm afraid TV@nywhere Plus is a bit outdated for Win8. There is no update so far since 2010. Could be MSI won't add Win8 support if it would be anyway possible.
