Tv @nywhere A/D supported in Win XP MCE 2005?

According to MSI website it is and drivers/software is available but it just won't work.
As soon as i install the drivers it causes the MCE Receiver service to crash.
So does it really work with MCE or not?
Quick response would be nice so i can return the POS tomorrow.

MSI tells us it is, so it should be.
But are you using the right drivers?

Both are tested under MCE 2005...but are you using the right software and drivers?

  • Will Ideapad G475 supports for Win 8 Pro?

I had try the Win 8 Enterprise Evaluation Edition which I downloaded from MSDN. I found that the Win 7 Drivers provided by Lenovo Support not all well supported by Win 8. There are few driver even facing installation issues while installing, which is the drivers of Bluetooth, amd video driver, touchpad driver and amd storage matrix driver.
Although it perform more responsive than win 7 most the time, but with lack of complete support by drivers and some software. So, I reinstalled to Win 7 after few days try.
Here, I just want to ask to those who had try Win 8 Enterprise Evaluation Edition on G475 about the experience. For information, I found that G475 is not in the win 8 upgrade compatible list provided by Lenovo.
Thanks in advanced for following reply. Have a nice day everyone

  • MOVED: MSI live update not supported on Win XP 64

This topic has been moved to Operating Systems.
MSI live update not supported on Win XP 64

Yes you are right.  The system drive will always be Drive C, but I am not sure if D will be my storage drive or the other sytem drive.  I could always try and find out but just havn't.
In the past, I had lots of virtual drives (partitions), and HDD's (as many as 10 total IDE devices).  But when the larger drives became more affordable, I prefer running with just 2, the system and storage for the sake of simplicity.  Since I do beta testing, I have having to reformat and reinstall a lot, so this system has worked great for me.

  • HP Support Assistant (Win 7 x64): Error 1316 on update/install

HP Support Assistant was running and downloaded an update for itself, which doesn't install properly. I am left with shortcuts that no longer work - HSPA.exe is missing.
I went direct to HP site, downloaded HSPA latest version, and tried to install.
I get toward the end of the instal...
    Then get this error:
    Then HSPA unintalls itself...
Then I get a final Windows error:
I have tried a System Restore, but it doesn't work (no restore point early enough).
Can you help me fix this problem?
(Unlike some other posts, I really LIKE HSPA and want to keep using it.)
I am using Win 7 Ultimate x64 on an Envy 1104-tx.
    Please help!!

Unfortunately, it doesn't fix the problem because now it won't install via Control Panel:
I select the HPSA and ask to uninstall:
I get the message that it's preparing to remove...
Then it "crashes" with the same error as before:
Now what should I do? I would really like to get HPSA working again.
    PLEASE HELP

  • S205 :Sad with Lenovo Driver support for Win 8

Sorry for my bad english, but I need to tell you my frustrating experience.
Due to low cost new windows 8 OS 64bit, I buy a lincense for mine Lenovo S205, conforted with some new Driver updated for 8 on Lenovo site.
I saw something strange in the Driver's page for ex. the wireless driver is called Cybertan\LiteOn and we have a Ralink RT 3090 wifi module.(or in some market Atheros AR9285)... Hummm realy strange.
I cross my fingers, I pray god and I start downloadin ALL the driver and start upgrading my system.
At restart I have my new Win8 64bit system and thank of god the most important driver (Ralink wifi) was autodetected and recognized by Win8  whitout install the strange Cybertan\LiteOn from Lenovo that doubt was working in a ralink device.
But at this point strarts the big issues with the unrecognized devices, that tahnks of god were less than expected but drivers fron Lenovo site were all wrong !!!!! Yes wrong, it seems a joke but was the true,
I think,(to tell the true I'm sure) no one from Lenovo tech checked the drivers in a S205 models, and I can explain why with the above sad experience:
    - SOUND: windows only install generic HD drivers and the sound quality as expected was crappy. So I try the lenovo driver Conexant but it does not properly work, SmatAudio icon in the ControlPannel was not present, no conexant pannel to manage sound, and nothing changed, windows continue with is own generym Microsoft HD drivers. I remeber that Lenovo model U300S and U300E have the same soundcard I dowload their Conexant Win8 driver (with a different number so I hope it was teh latest) and my idea was great, the Conexant U300 driver works on my S205 lenovo and Win8 detect the conexant soundcard and SmartAudio is present and working. There is only a isse concerning SRS Sound that is present on my system but if I try to lounch nothing appens, so I think is not correctly working. But so far so god sound is better than before with generic MS drivers, but to do so I have to choose a different driver from a different Lenovo pc, not an easy step for a normal user.
    - OSD: on screen display (FN+F keys) in 7 they was insert in the Lenovo Energy Mnagement, so to works you need to instal it. I make the same in win 8 with the new Lenovo Energy Management provides by Lenovo site, Lenovo Energy Management is working but OSD no !!!!
Windows 8 detect and show you in autonomy soud level and brightnes when you press FN+Arrow keys ant that are the most important but ALL the FN+F Keys are not showed on screen even if probably they are working (for ex. Fn+F6 correctly enabel1disable touchpad) but not icon showen on screen !! Well I can leave without OSD but once again seems Lenovo don't try EnergyManagement on a Win8 pc.
    - CARD READER: Windows detect and unknow device called USB CRW and I though correctly was the card reader, in fact I try a sd and win8 was not able to read it. So I install the Realtek CardReader downloaded from Lenovo site, It was extracted and installed but I don't know why the driver seems bugged, the pattern contains only some icon but not exe ord driver, in fact the Card reader even if I try the driver more times it was not decetced. I tryed the old Windows 7 driver for my S205 and thank of god it was working and now my cardreader is detected and working. Once angain the win8 driver provided by Lenovo fails and I need the oldest win 7 driver that maks the job.
    - TOUCHPAD: Synaptics touchpad was detected by windows 8 but all the basic features as the scrolling or 2 fingers was not working. So I try the Synaptics drivers provided by Lenovo and it was only for 32bit system even if is clearly showed as 32 and 64bit driver. The driver itself promp me that is not working on a 64bit system and i need to contact the producer :-(
Hahahaha very hilarious so I have to download the driver from Synaptics server that is so slow that I need 2 hours to finaly have my touchpad driver. Once again an epic fail from lenovo site.
CONCLUSION: Lenovo is the new n.1 pc producer in the world but it seems realy not professional when check his drivers and public it on the website. Could be s205 is the cheapest and not business line notebook but ... I am realy sad whit the way Lenovo put new drivers without any preventive control in the homesite driver's page.
It seems it was a lottery, extracting a number and put the corresponding driver on the S205 drivers page :-(
Sir this is not the good behaviour, is the bast way to loose users !!!! Very disappointed, very sad and I hope this post can help S205 users taht want use the new Windows 8 system to catch the correct solutions
I hope too some Lenovo developers can read this, try win8 on a s205 notebook and solve all the problems, because even if I solve with my 20 years pc experience all the issue, still remais some problems as SRS Sound seems not working (if It can work on our system, but if it can't why put in on our s205 driver too) and no OSD for every FN keys working.
There are not present some utility for win 8 as for example the CAPSLOCK keys utility that was present for 7 but not for 8 (I have to try if the older work on 8) or the Lenovo OneKey that seems not ready for 8..
So far so good winodws 8 works great on S205 and is a good choice if you catch the correct drivers as I explain here.
Hoping this help Lenovo not making the same mistakes in the future, and learn from their errors.
Once angain sorry for my language mistake but I'm not English
Hore this post can help in some case
    Bye

    Hi Romagnolo1973!
Thank you for posting all the things you learned, and how you got your S205 working with Windows 8! Hopefully this will help others.
To be fair to Lenovo, they list Windows 8 as not supported on the S205.

As you found, it is sometimes possible to work around the problems and get things working to your satisfaction!

  • USB 2.0 support with WIN XP

I have just bought a via based MAXXTRO USB 2.0 PCI CARD. Plugged in, powered PC. Win XP recognized the card and automatically installed drivers without notice. So I checked the hardware set up and realised to my surprise that the card was recognized as USB 1.0.
I have MSI 845 Ultra -C, Amibios 1.5, P4 2.4 GHz, Win XP SP1a, latest via driver download. I wonder if the MOBO supports USB 2.0 at all?
Or is it just some issue arround the MOBO USB 1.0 controllers messing up with the PCI USB 2.0?
    Please help

    Yes, I have mentioned it.
    To sum up:
    PC: P4 2.4GHz,
MSI 845 ULTRA -C, Amibios 1.5, newest available drivers
     512 MB , 333Mhz RAM,
USB 2.0 PCI CARD (MAXXTRO, via based),
    Win XP Professional, SP 1a
the USB hardware set up states I have VIA USB host controller, rev 5 or later , but in the artcle at:
    http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=3&faq=13&Search=USB+2.0
they suggest it reffers to USB 1.0 spec. not to USB 2.0
It might be an issue of the MoBo, or WIN XP. But  this is where my knowledge ends.
    Self advise:
first I have to make sure, the motherboard supports the USB 2.0 ( do you know?)
second I will check with Microsoft (there is an update patch available, did not help)
third I susspect the bulid in USB 1.0 host controllers (?) in the MoBo might interfere with the new card and the USB 2.0 is recognised as USB 1.0, Should I desable USB 1.0 somehow?
    What should I do?

2011 MacBook Pro, 64 bit i7 quad core, upgraded to Lion OSx, Bootcamp installed with Windows 7, wanting to install Windows 8 (don't ask), tried downloading/installing bootcamp 5.0.5033 (both on the mac/windows partitions (actually using a parallel to run Windows)), error message something similar to bootcamp doesn't support this Windows
So the question is am I doing something wrong? Should I just try and install windows 8 through my windows 7 partition and see if I can use the bootcamp 5.05033. Or do I solely have to use the bootcamp to install Windows 8? I'm not too familiar with bootcamp and how it runs.

if you're using parallels and full bootcamp then you're making it 100% more troublesome for youself then it needs to be
bootcamp is running windows directly on the hardware this give full memory and cpu and 3d video game power
running windows in parallels is running a virtual machine where one can't run powerful games and the like but one can have it in a window and change fast between osx and windows
parallels as the only virutal machine (as far as I know) support not have the operating system as a file on the osx harddisk but can access a bootcamp parition as virtual machine but without the benefits bootcamps provides
it's a service parallels provide for those who want both to play games in normal bootcamp and sometimes use windows in a virutal machine
just install it like a normal virtual machine and you need not worry about bootcamp drivers and the likes
plus it would mean that the windows part would be a part of the timemachine bacup of osx
which it is not when it's in bootcamp

  • Is ReFS on External (e.g., USB) Drives Still Not Supported in Win 8.1?

I've been running an internal disk drive on ReFS under Windows 8.1 since late last year, and have had nothing but perfect operation from it.
I know that originally, when Win 8 came out, it was not possible to format an external USB drive to ReFS.  It would clearly be a good choice, given that an external drive might be more prone to taking on errors than an internal one.
I was just wondering whether the restriction might have been lifted in Update 1, and an external drive can now be formatted ReFS.  I am going to try when I get a little time, but I was just wondering if anyone's already braved the territory.

    Follow up:
Upon a reboot after updating some other software, the system did not come back up right with the "MiniNT" registry tweak listed above.
    Some problems noted:
    1.  Drive letter H: ended up assigned to my System Reserved partition instead of the USB drive, which could not be seen.
    2.  Some applications failed to start with messages like "The procedure entry point _ftol2 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\comdlg32.dll".
    3.  The system had trouble accessing the event logs with error -50.
    4.  CHKDSK showed some problems on drive C:, but could not correct them.
Removal of the MiniNT key restored proper operation, and the ReFS formatted drives are still available.
Make SURE you remove the "MiniNT" key after formatting is complete if you use the tweak at the WinAero site to enable ReFS formatting.

    Hello,
Have Lenovo T510 4349-PG9 with optimus technology.
Need to use WinXP SP3 instead of Win7.
I have installed WinXP SP3 with all updates, but can't install NVS 3100M driver. After i switch video card to NVS3100M in BIOS instead of optimus option, i have success. After i switched option back to optimus and after restert...
The same problem as in this topic: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T500-Hybrid-Graphics-Problem-How-to-blindly...
Laptop is new so i will obtain new one from my provider. Seems that motherboard is broken or something.
So the question in advance is: Does WinXP SP3 support optimus technology or i need to choose Inter or Nvidia video in Bios and use it? And if WinXP supports optimus technology how to install drivers in a proper way?
    Thanks in advance!

XP does not support Optimus. You'll have to choose between Intel and nVidia in the BIOS.
