TV@nywhere channel changing...

After taking 3 days of driver installing, MSI PVS installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, and basically dealing with WAY more hassle than I should to get this card to work, another stupid problem has cropped up.  I can change the channel, but it doesn't always work.  Like, I'll turn on channel 34, and I'll get what in my area is Comcast Sportsnet.  I hit channel down, I should get Nickelodean, but I don't.  The channel says "33", but the picture and audio is still 34.  I can hit 3, 10, 7, 68, anything, and I still have 34's audio and picture.  And then it will stop and I can change a few channels.  And then it starts again.  This basically makes the product worthless for me.  I've searched this forum and haven't found anything related, and MSI's website is basically worthless for info on troubleshooting this card.  Any ideas other than lay the card in my driveway and driving over it with my car?
My system:
Athlon XP 1800+
Epox 8K3A w/512 megs DDR @ PC2100 speeds
MSI GeForce4 Ti4400 video
MSI TV@nywhere TV tuner
Hercules Fortissimo II sound
Any other pertinent information please feel free to ask.  Thanks!

Funny, I have the same setup, a Shuttle SSG51.  Also, I had the same problem, I was losing sound when I changed channels.   Good news, I did find a "fix".
Under SETUP --> TV -- > Audio Mode = "Manual Selection" and for Stereo Broadcast = Mono.
Hope this helps.

  • Channel Changing effect question.

    Question for the professionals:  How can I create a “channel change” with distortion, etc. effect on Final Cut Pro?  I need it for a sketch so with each segue, or scene, it looks like the “viewer” changed the channel.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • December channel changes (WGN moving, JUCE TV being removed, GSN HD added)

    Check your dvr/stb menu messages.
    On or after Dec. 8th WGN (SD) is being relocated to ch. 68 and being removed from the very basic tv packages.
    On or after Dec. 31st Juce TV (religious) is being removed from the lineup.
    Also, there is no message about it, but GSN HD (ch. 684) is now being added to markets and is available to those who have the tiers that it is included in.

    Chicago's WGN Channel 9 moved from 9 to 68.  Seems like kind of a dumb move.  Except for this forum, how would people discover this?????????
    Periodically check the message center in the stb/dvr menu. They sent a message out about it. Also even if you don't receive paper bills look at the pdf version online as channel changes are usually posted there in advance.
    Only other way is to notice it while scroling through the guide.

  • Premiere Pro Timeline with 3 video channels and 4 audio channels, audio channels change to 8 channels when clip dragged onto timeline.

    Premiere Pro Timeline with 3 video channels and 4 audio channels, when clip dragged onto timeline audio channels change to 8 channels. Audio track mixer changes too. I edit undo to remove dragged clip and it reverts back to 4 channels of audio on timeline as does the audio mixer?  Any ideas as to why the audio channels and mixer changes?

    you can check the clip you are dragging to the timeline, if it has 8 tracks... can check by right clicking it in the project bin, choose modify, audio channels.

  • Channels change by themself

    We have a standard Definition DVR box and the channels change by themselves while we are watching a taped show.
    No one else is holding a remote in the house.
    Has anyone had this problem happen.
    I was told it may be a problem with light reflecting from the window.

    I've had a similar problem. I would press the up/down channel button once and it would fast forward on it's own. Try turning the box away from the window and try it. The other thing with me was my sirius radio remote was doing the same thing, which is near my DVR box. My problem was that my remote for my dvd player that was sitting in a caddy facing the DVR and my sirius radio, was causing the problem. I removed the DVD remote from the room and problem solved.

  • Router disappears from WiFi list when channel changes

    On my Mountain Lion iMac, I've realized that my wireless router disappears every time the channel is changed on it.  And for me to be able to find the router again, I have to reset the router and start the setup process all over.
    Anyone have ideas on what I can do to resolve this issue?

    Over the past 3 months, I've tried all sorts of trouble-shooting steps I could find including the steps you've mentioned.
    The best success I've had so far is to prevent the router from switching between B/G/N, which keeps the connection live the longest.
    If I had to take a guess, the iMac is just terrible with wifi routers that allow multiple bands (B/G/N), and auto channel changing.
    By the way, I do not have this problem with my iPod Touch, iPad 1, iPad 2, and Windows laptop.  I don't seem to have a problem when using bootcamp Windows on the iMac either.

  • Scheduled recordings and up coming channel changes

    With the scheduled channel changes coming will this affect scheduled recording's?

    As it only changes to the LCNs then it shouldn't. It is when DTT broadcast channels switch MUX that you can have a problem with some PVRs but internet channels are a different animal.

  • PI Directory API - Communication Channel Change

    Building an application using SAP PI Directory API to read existing communication channel(s) and to update them to change the Status (Active / Inactive).  I'm able to change the status but not able to retain the password in the channel; For example, JDBC channel has DB user id and password.  After successfully changing the status, Channel is loosing password.
    Here is the logic that I'm following to change the communication channel.
    Using Communication Channel Service
      - Read method to get communication channel object
      - Change method to change the status
          - In change method, I'm creating CommunicationChalleRestricted object based on the CommunicationChannel object received in Read method.  (using get and set methods)
    Also, I'm dynamically creating and activate/reverting the Change list while performing the change operation.
    Please note that the communication channel service in WSNavigator is not showing the password when executing READ method.  I've also tried OpenForChange method, but the same issue.
    How can I make password retained while changing the existing communication channel?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sat

    Hi Sat,
    I had implemented a tool to make mass channel active or inactive using a simple excel-sheet interface. I had faced the password issue when i was implementing this. But i came to know that password are not stored as plain text but instead they are stored as encrypted text with some complex encryption algorithm and key. And also due to security reasons the web-services in PI do not return password(not even the encrypted string).
    So to update,save and activate any channel in PI you simply need to skip the AdapterSpecificAttribute which has "password" as the name. Below is the pseudo code(java) for this
    ArrayList<GenericProperty> ASA = new ArrayList<GenericProperty>();
    Loop all AdapterSpecificAttributes:
    if(Name.tolowercase().contains("password"))
         // skip
    else
         GenericProperty attr = new GenericProperty();
         attr.setName(Name);
         attr.setValue(Value);
         ASA.add(attr);
    Loop End:
    //set ASA to the CommunicationChannel object AdapterSpecificAttribute
    Note: Not tested the above code so make changes accordingly(as required). I have implemented this same logic and it worked.
    Hope it helps,
    Thanks,
    Anand

  • Premium channela change

    Hi - I am a new poster so hope I am posting in the right area.
    I am going to have a problem with the change over to the new premium channel service. I live in an old house which has three different wiring circuits. My router is upstairs at the master socket and connects by powertrend connectors to the hub in the hallway (same electrical circuit) All my computers connect wirelessly. My tv and BT box are in the lounge (different circuit) My box currently connects to the aerial and on the few occasions I want to use on demand or movies I connect the box to the hub temporarily by a 10m ethernet cable. I am very happy with this setup.
    My understanding of the new system is that my hub and box will have  to be permanently connected by cable or I will not be able to watch BBC ITV SKY sports etc. Running cable around skirtings is not an option (3 doorways to cross and probably at least 20-30m of cable) The other option is to lift the floorboards in my hall and lounge to run an underfloor cable but understandably I am not keen to do that. I think SKY use a wireless box in this situation. Is there any similar option with BT?
    I have to say that with all the current technology available nailing bits of cabling to a skirting hardly suggests a high tech solution.

    Or plug an Ethernet plug into the Comtrend power adapter from your laptop and run a speed test

    Hi,
    Sorry, your post isn't clear. Your remote is working fine but your having to change channels using the box?
    And how old is your remote?

  • STB Slow Response to Channel Change

    Thanks for notifying us. This issue was inadvertently caused by a new ad deployment system. You should see some improvement in the next 2 weeks as we are disabling this capability on many channels.
    We will be deploying a software fix on all your set top boxes between November 26 to January 7 across all FIOS markets which should resolve this issue fully. Thanks for your patience.

    ...about new interference from cell phones...
    There is some confusion. Cell phones don't interfere. Cordless home phones that operate at 2.4 GHz can interfere.
    Connect to your AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) with Ethernet and reconfigure it to a different channel.

  • Airport express channel changing

    I'm unable to change the channel that my airport express uses when going through airport utility. I selected my airport ex and select wireless. I get no prompt for changing channels.  I have a wireless sub woofer transmitter that interferes with it and am unable to separate them because they are both rooked into my tuner. Any recommendations.

    I'm unable to change the channel that my airport express uses when going through airport utility.
    What model of AirPort Express?
    If you are not sure, look on the side or bottom of the device. It will help to have reading glasses or a magnifying glass. The model number starts with an "A" followed by four numbers, as in A1084, for example.
    What version of AirPort Utility?
    If you are not sure, open AirPort Utility and click on the AirPort Utility menu. Click About AirPort Utility and post back with that info
    I selected my airport ex and select wireless. I get no prompt for changing channels.
    When you click the Wireless tab......what setting do you see for Wireless Mode...or...it might be displayed as Network Mode depending on the version of AirPort Utility.
    If you see a setting for "Join a wireless network" or "Extend a wireless network", you will have to change the channel on your "main" router.

  • AP1200's explicitly set channels changing somehow...

    We have a rather large deployment of AP1200's (802.11b radios) in a hospital environment and they've been working fine. But recently I happened across some AP's that for whatever reason even though they have been set to use a particular channel (1,6, or 11) I am finding that some are actually using a different channel (5 or 7 or 2). I understand if they were using the Select Least Congested Frequency option how I might wind up with those frequencies but I am just trying to understand what other factors might be causing their communication frequencies to change without any interaction from us.
    I'm not sure if they AP Role has any part in this - most of the AP's have the role of Root Access Point (fallback to repeater) option selected. I have found that setting sometimes interferes with other configuration options (have to change the role to default, do those changes, and then switch the role back to that role). I am toying with changing the roles on all of the APs to the default Root Access point but am looking for something to point to that as a factor before I bother.
    Not all AP's are affected but I probably found 25 in a deployment of 165 or AP's. Also I have no idea when the changes actually occurred. The AP's are fed by power injectors and we are running the IOS 12.3(4) code on them. But I have also noticed this at a smaller location with just 9 AP's running the 12.3(8) code too.
    I am trying to find plausible explanations such as switch work (powering off a switch) while AP's are powered up to explain how this could happen. In that case the loss of ethernet activity should cause the AP to change to the repeater role and relay its traffic via the raio interface to a nearby AP if I understand it correctly. And even then it should still be using the channels 1,6 or 11.
    Any ideas for this interestingly weird item?

    If you know the limits of your channel readings, you can set these in AI Hardware Config. Take a look at this VI to see the ins and outs of it, but basically you can use it to specify the limits on the channels in your acquisition. Therefore, you can keep a database of the signals you are acquiring and keep the high and low limits for these signals. You can supply these to the AI Hardware Config VI and it will generate the gains and you can actually read these from the VI also. This way, you can check to see if they are what you want and change them if desired.
