TV@nywhere Duo in MEGA180

Dear all,
I'm using a Tv@nywhere Duo in a MEGA 180. I've installed everything according to the instructions, but get the error messages "Failed to initialize application. Program will be stopped now!" and "DTV card was not found" when I try to run the DTV software. The card has IRQ 18 and is installed in the Device Manager as 'Silicon DVB-T Duo' - the driver, apparently, is working correctly.
Any ideas as to how I might get this thing to work?
Kind regards,
Phil Mueller

it has been known to cause some problems with some software, if you look in the Mega PC forum here in the stickies, there should be an explanation
basically you should disconnect / disable the card reader before installing windows, otherwise C: and D: get allocated to it, then E: to optical drive, leaving your HDD as F:. by disabling the card reader, windows will install as normal to the C: partition
i don't know if it will fix your problem, but it is a good basis to continue anyway on your system

  • TV@nywhere Duo (S36-0800020-L51)

    Hi
Just installed this very new card & cannot get sound on the some HD channels. Program crash when selecting analog channels. Same crash happens when selecting Tools - Setteings from top menu. Seem to only allow DVT mode without crashing.  Have tried unist & reinst.
Have very good reception on other TVs. New Digital & analog antenna just installed.
    Thanks in advance.

I have moved the card to a better slot (tried 4) with no conflict/sharing irq. The card was recognised immediately by windows & the drivers installed automatically.  Still the same problems with Software however. All this plugging and unplugging is causing the connectors to become loose on the card. The connectors are unusually tight (tried with several plugs).
If you need more information regarding my setup I am happy to post or email them. Just let me know what info you need. What should I try next ?
    Thanks for your reply!

  • MPC - New computer user purpose.......

I usually end up passing my old components down to family members rotating by who has the oldest components.  Well in this case I can't really do that.  My old motherboard is a KT6V-LSR Socket A and Full size ATX so it won't fit in a MicroATX MPC case along with this I'm not going to go out and purchase a MicroATX socket A motherboard just to have an outdated worthless socket A motherboard lieing around.
So, I'm doing things a bit different and passing my old equipment to another family member and just building a brand mew system for my father.  He lives in a Fifth Wheel so space is a premium which is why I'm looking at 19" LCD's for him after I get mine.
Currently though he does need a new system badly so I am starting to spec things out as he can continue to use his 17" Micron Monitor.
This is what I have so far:
Keep in mind I'm not made of money and I'm trying to do a nice system for him on a budget of under $700.00.

I would like a TV@nywhere Duo although I can't find anywhere to buy them in the US. :(  An equivalent card that can support both Analog and Digital would be nice w/ Remote.
Past that where I'm at is I can't decide on a case.  I want a small case, a Front LED is something I would really like to have for him, but I'm not sure it's feasible.  If not I would like 2 external 5 1/4" Drive bays so I can add a VCR Drive.  And yes I know they make them, but I lost my bookmark. :(  Now I have to spend hours trying to find the words I typed in that brought it up in google and hours searching to find the right link. :(
Edited to update budget from $500 to $700

Well I'm getting closer to what I want to do here.  As I said, he barely knows how to turn a computer on.
    I read a review here:
    http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/cases/Tt_Bach/
It seems the Thermaltake Bach has gotten some realy good reviews, not just from there.
I've already decided not to keep the RS482M4-ILD board I have so I will be using this for his system.  Still not sure on processor as I may end up just upgrading mine and moving the whole set over into the Bach Case.
This will be a bit off as I'm going to purchase a new LCD 19" for myself first and then I'm waiting for the RD580 Chipset before I do this, but I need to get the short list together of what I need to purchase.  I intend to start getting everything out of the way as I can so I can get this setup for him.
I figure I will go ahead with:

Just hope it's easy to use otherwise I will be buying Intervideo's setup. :-/

  • MSI TV@nywhere E-Duo Windows 7 drivers

I own tv tuner card MSI TV@nywhere E-Duo. My PC OS is Windows 7 64bit. I use Windows Media Center to watch live tv and my pc everytime completely locks up in approximetely 10 minutes (only hard reset works). Same problem exists with Windows 7 32bit. In both cases (Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64bit), it is clean installation only with tuner and display drivers. I also tried replace windows deafult codecs (K-Lite) and tried third party application Total Media but with no change. I think that the main problem is the driver.

  • Problems with MEGA180

OK I have been playing with the mega 180 a few days now.
It appears there are two problems which should be eliminated:
    1. I have an usb keyboard and mouse (logitech), unfortunately the set comes only with usb keyboard and ps/2 mouse connector and this is where it goes wrong, even when I change the setting usb keyboard to enabled in the bios. Either winxp locks or in dos mode the keyboard cannot be used. Rebooting the megapc resolves this: thus i need to reset the megapc at least once before i can use it properly with winxp.
2: buttons on the front don't work properly, especially when ejecting the DVD when winxp is running: this results in a lockup and windows xp needs to be rebooted again. Funniest part is when i open the front and press eject manually on the dvd drive itself everything is ok and dvd's can be switched

Anyone experiencing the same problems or knows how to deal with these properly? Cheers

  • I have a Mac mini OSX 10.4.11 Intel Core Duo, 512mb, 1.83 GHz with iTunes 9.0.3. What steps do I need to take to get my music library to my iPad. I dont think I meet the requirements to just upgrad to snow leopard and/or lion. I want the music I paid for

I have a Mac mini OS X 10.4.11, intel core duo processor (not core 2 duo), with 512 mb and 1.83 GHz processor.  I only have version 9.0.3 of iTunes because it hasn't let me go higher, which I believe is because of the operating system.  I want to get my purchased music from the Mac mini to a different computer (that has the latest version of iTunes) and also my iPad.  The Mac mini does not meet the requirements listed to simply upgrade to snow leopard or lion. As far as I can tell.  Forgive me if I am lacking here...this is new to me.  What can I do to get the music transferred.  I have invested alot of money over the past few years on all this music that I should be able to transfer.  Thank you in advance if you can help me.

If you want to sync it to the iPad from that Mac, you need to upgrade it to at least 10.5.8.
If you want to copy the music to another Mac, you don't. Move the iTunes folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar over as you would any other folder. If you put it somewhere other than the Music folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and point it to that location.

  • Using Adobe CS2  with mc book pro intel duo core 2,16 .17"

As a designer working on high definition heavy graphic files intended for digital printing, i am about to go for mc book pro 2,16 duo core and 2gb ram.
I need to use CS2 (photoshop, illustrator) and know that it is not a native soft version, so not otimized for this processor. Any how, I just cannot wait CS3 (Adobe says 2007 whenever they are ready !), so I need advise of professional users of such applications on this mc book pro intel duo core 2,16 17".
I heard pretty scary rumours about such a professional use.
PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO FOR PC/WIN !!!

CS runs beautifully, with really no lag at all. Keep in mind that I haven't gotten to upgrading from 1 GB RAM to 2 yet, since my tablet died and I needed to replace that. I just installed CS2 last week, and there is a lag, and we'll soon see if more memory helps. Everything works fine, no crashes, etc., but there is in my opinion a noticeable difference in loading time, and various other tasks within the apps take longer. Again, CS2 works just fine, but the performance of CS is much better.

  • I want to update to LION,on my Macbook Pro duo core, (october 2006) because Adobe CC needs at least that. I know my computer is old, but works perfect to me and I do not want to stay in Adobe CS6 since I have access to Adobe Cloud CC. Please help.

I want to update to LION,on my Macbook Pro CORE 2 DUO, (october 2006) because Adobe CC needs at least that. I know my computer is old, but works perfect to me and I do not want to stay in Adobe CS6 since I have access to Adobe Cloud CC. Please help.
I probably dont want to go to Mountain Lion either because I've heard that it will slow down my computer, So, Lion 10.7 will be the perfect OS X for me.
I have ne newest release of Snow Leopard installed and works great.
Thank you ALL for your help.

you will be ok updating to the new software but there will be some trade off. i have 3 macbooks 2006 that are all running the latest versions.
some of the trade off are
    1-2 less of battery life
    slow wake ups from sleep
slower start up time about 30-40 seconds longer then what you have now
the operating system will use high % of your processer while idealing
these are not the things you want to hear about a new os compared to the old one but this is how it is even with a new macbook pro. but it's not the end of the world. just make sure you have at least more then 2GB of ram and have a good harddrive and you will be ok.

  • I5 or Core 2 Duo?

I am getting my mom a used MacBook Pro, and I need some advice regarding processors. How much better is an i5 over a Core 2 Duo? Let's say a 2.4 GHz i5 and a 2.53 GHz C2D.
    So here's the story:
I purchased a MBP a couple weeks ago, but it arrived not as described, so I sent it back. Now I'm being offered the chance to purchase it again, but with some of the problems fixed and some upgrades (4gb RAM to 8gb, 120 SSD drive to 640gb - doubt it's SS but not sure). However, it has a 2.53 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor, which I was told is pretty outdated by an Apple "genius" and a local Mac shop. My mom uses her computer for the internet, watching DVDs, using QuickBooks, Wordpress, and some very mild graphics work (using older versions of Illustrator, though she is considering doing Adobe's new Creative Cloud services); she also has a habit of leaving lots of programs and windows open. Looking on eBay, most 15" MacBook Pros with an i5 generally go for $200 to $300 more than the offer on the C2D, and that's usually with less RAM and hard drive space. It should also be noted that the C2D has some dents on the top and corner.
So, I'm stuck; I'm not sure if this new offer is any good and also just how much priority I should be giving the processor. Any advice?
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-MacBook-Pro-MC118LL-A-15-4-2-53GHZ-C2D-4-GB-120-GB -BRAND-NEW-SSD-/151003602008?ViewItem=&ssPageName=ADME%3AX%3AAAQ%3AUS%3A1123&ite m=151003602008&nma=true&si=2pnwu2h2F59RH8oZaWrCfeCag5g%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc &_trksid=p2047675.l2557

CORRECTION: The i5 processor MBPs I'm seeing on eBay have 4-8gb RAM and less hard drive space (which isn't a problem).

  • MacMini Duo Lockups

I just bought a new Intel Duo 1.6GHz Core Mac Mini with 120G hard drive and 2GB Dram all installed by the Apple Factory so there is no weird memory, etc. I also connected a 250GB LaCie drive underneath and bought a Apple monitor 23" Cinema. So this conversation is legally Mac, I think.
The system is locking up at many unexpected times. Going to set the Screen display locked up the computer, and going to different areas, like the Apple Drive Utility for reformating USB memory locks it up.
I am aware and understand you can't sleep a Mac with USB devices connected and you have to remove them save the keyboard and mouse to avoid the dead sleep but can somebody tell me if I should keep this machine or if I should abandon ship. I have 2 G4 Towers that are the noisiest critters in the world but they never lock up as I'm cruising the AppleSoftware.
On this Mac Mini I have MS Office Suite (Apple Version) and iLife and really nothing more.
Any ideas on stability and warranty. I did buy the extended warranty for the system but living with about 3 reboots a week due to lock ups is really not fun.
    Apple Challenged.

I have the same problem and its realy anoying me!
I tried almost anything (except that I was'nt aware that I should remove USB-devices and I have a USB wireless MS-mouse. I'll try it tonight, but I don't think it wil help.
I also haven't tried reseting the PMU, because I'm in the middle of a job and will test it as soon as i'm done)
This is what I have tested:
    Reset NVRAM
    deleted prefs in library
    rebuild permissions
    upgrade firmware
    upgrade Airport firmware
upgrade to all the lastest software from apple (thurs. 18)
    disabed Airport
disabled all sleepers in pref-pane (except screensaver)
    deleted startup-items and widgets
    remove Version-cue
tested to see if it was a temprature-fault (looked OK.)
Nothing works. I really feel that all I have left to do is test the PMU and if that doesn't work I'll return the machine to Apple...

  • Problem installating Snow Leopard on old Macbook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo. After creating partition on internal hard disk (Extended Journaled), installation starts but stops at half of the progress bar. Screen asking Restart appears.

    Hello:
I have tried installing Snow Leopard via the installation disc on a Macbook Pro (2007) with an Intel Core 2 Duo, but I the installation has failed more than 5 times.
I have first formatted and partitioned the internal hard disk with Mac Os Extended Journal format.
Once the installation starts, it starts without a problem unti lthe progress bar gest until half completed then a screen asking for a Computer Restart shows up.
It asks to press the power button for some time until it the computer shuts down and then, press again to turn it on.
Once turned on, the installation disc gets readed, the installation screen appears again and asks again to start the whole installation process form the beginning.

Then you have a Hardware Problem.
Your system is Crashing part way through the install and Re-Booting because of the crash.
Could be the drive itself or it could be some other hardware part in your system. Like the RAM.
To check if it is the internal drive connect an External drive to the system by USB and do the install on that external. If the install completes then it more then likely the drive is bad. If it crashes again then it is more then likely some other piece of hardware in your system.
