TV @nywhere Master Resolved and Unresolved issues

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and to MSI products.
I have a P4P800 asus mobo + P4 2.4 GHZ/800fsb cpu + 9700 ati graphics card +  1 Gig of OCZ Ram (matched 3200 ddr in dual channel mode) and of course a TV @nywhere Master capture/tuner card. Oh yeah, Windows XP Pro.
All the drivers are the most recent release except for the 9700 which is the second most recent.
Good stuff:
FM radio works fine although I can't seem to record FM in stereo??
Capture works well too, I've been busy capturing the old hi-8 cam-corder memorys!
Broadcast recording works fine too once I figured out that I can't get a DVD capture quality in the audio because my onboard audio only samples up to 44.1! Result is distorted sound.
Remote works fine too.
Bad stuff:
Video will freeze sometimes when watching TV content.
All too frequently, I can't completely close the TV tuner down by any means.
I am always left with a frozen video image and audio still working. I can activate the FM tuner but it reverts back to TV audio when I shut it down! Task manager will shut it down 1 in 10 times and no matter what, I don't see the usual system resource usage when it's hung.
Usually when I succeed in shutting down with the task manager I cannot restart the TV tuner. Last Night I got it shut down and after doing a bit of web-browsing, I pushed the remote power button and it sprang to life! ?(
I think this ties into the very slow restarts when the card hangs on closing. I usually will attempt a restart after it hangs and find if I wait, it will restart eventually. I usually get fed-up and push reset!
Thats my experience so far and I think I could be happy with this card except for this hang-on-closing issue.
I would appreciate any ideas!

I forgot to mention one other small issue.
About 80% of the time, when turning on the computer, there is a lot of electrical noise and hiss coming from the card. I turn the radio on and off and things are quiet again. ?(

  • [TV@Master] TV@nywhere master and DScaler 4.1.11

    hi there,
over the weekend i thought i would try out a program that claims to be able to run my TV@nywhere master. that program is DScaler 4.1.11
The program says it supports the CX2388x chipset so i thought i would play it safe and uninstalled MSIPVS and drivers and start with a cold boot, the program installed without problems, auto detecting my card, and starting up just fine. once running i had video but could not get sound, after playing with it for awhile i still could not get sound so i decided to uninstall the program and reinstall MSIPVS and drivers. I did this the same as i did before, uninstalled, powered off, powered on, shut down anything running in the background, reinstalled drivers from the cd, reinstalled MSIPVS and radio, after install, rebooted, then set up MSIPVS as i had done before (before DScaler everything worked just fine including the remote) when i had the program set up i noticed i had no sound so i checked my settings (nothing different than before), checked the device manager to make sure windows knew the card was there and no conflicts or problems and found nothing out of sorts. at this point i began to worry so i uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results, i also tried the beta drivers and the newer MSIPVS with the same results, video with no sound (when you turn the volume way up you can hear a crackling sound) at this point i was getting pretty    so i spent the next few hours trying to find out what had happened. i posted on there site asking for help but no response so far.
from what i've read on there forum an early version of DScaler trashes the EPROM on the TV@nywhere master (i hope this is not the problem!) but that issue was supposed to be fixed with later versions of the program.
I am at my wits end at this point.    Not sure what to try next except filling the card in the circular file
can anyone give me some ideas on what to do? does MSI have a utillity availible to fix things like this?
one thing is for sure DScaler will never see any rig i build from now on!

    IT LIVES AGAIN!!!!!!!!
     Hi there!
I just wanted to post an update! i got my card working again with much better results than before!! Stu you should see the picture i get and hear the sound quality!!
alright! i'll write this down before i forget what i did. first thing i did was to uninstall MSI drivers and MSIPVS and Radio, then i downloaded DScaler 4.1.8 and the reflasher utility, then i installed DScaler, then i unpacked the reflasher to DScalers program folder and ran the tool, after that i uninstalled DScaler and powered off my rig, next i powered up and after closing anything running in the background i installed the drivers Stu posted then i powered down again. after powering up and closing everything i installed MSIPVS from the original CD that came with the card and the radio that Stu posted, powered down again, restarted and set up MSIPVS great vidio but no sound    then i started looking for a work around, i decided to run composite cables from my dish setup. vidieo to the tuner and audio to the sound card with the spliter that came with the card. got picture but no sound    then i started checking other things, "line in" is in my volume control and wasn't muted so i opened up my "sound manager" (my board has the Realtec ALC850 chipset) and started messing around with the settings there, after going thru 2 or 3 different configurations i let it auto detect and sudenly i got sound!!  (i tried auto detect first with no results) so at this point i thought i might push my luck, removed the composite cables and hooked the cable back up then restarted MSIPVS, went to setup and set it up choosing cable and line in, i ran the channel search and got vidio and sound!!!!!!
i'm not sure what happened because before DScaler everything worked fine (sound and video not as good as i wanted) after all this i get a great picture and great sound!! no noise in either!!
so far so good! now that's behind me i won't be messing with alternative programs and the TV@nywhere master again!!
i really hope this helps someone else find a way to get there card back up and running!!

  • Having issues with custom master pages and device channels

I'm working in Sharepoint 2013 and am attempting to create a custom master page that is to be used by mobile devices. I have created an html file and a custom css file that includes snippets from the design manager. The file appears to preview fine in a
browser from Microsoft Web Expression. I have loaded the html file into sharepoint via design manager, so the master file is there as well. The css files are in the style library for the site collection and I have created a device channel including user agent
strings for iphones going back to the iPhone 4 and operating systems going back to iOS 6. I have obviously assigned my custom "mobile" master for that device channel and I have turned off mobile browsing. However when I open the site on my phone
it shows the normal full desktop view and not my custom master. I will include my html code, my css and a screenshot of my device channel below. Please help!
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><!--SPG:

    Hi,
The issue is likely not your HTML Master Page but your user agent string. Try a user agent string of just "iphone". To test your master page, you could also set the user agent to "MSIE", which should cause this master page to load for
any version of IE. This will help you debug the master page as well in your normal browser.

  • TV@nywhere master shutdown issue

    Help
I bought a TV@nywhere Master card for my cousins pc recently, after installation of the card the PC (which is running Windows XP Professional) restarts everytime I want to shutdown. After much investigation it has occurred that it is the 'cx88aud.sys' file that is causing that problem, as when this driver is removed the system shuts down as normal but when the driver is reinstalled it fails to shutdown.
Anyone shed some light on this issue????

    I had it too ...
    It`s a IRQ sharing problem.
    Solutions :
    1. Moving the card to another slot migth fix it ...
    2. if your motherboard supports it enable APIC.
    3. Just disable the Msi Sound Capture driver.

  • I have installed windows 8 on my mac book pro with bootcamp 4 and the issue is whenever i open windows 8 , It hangs after 15 minutes and does not work . How to resolve this issue?

  • TV@nywhere Master and TVR software

After a search, I found that Stu had posted in a seperate thread as follows:

i recommend trying out the TVR software (from the TV@nywhere Plus page)
As I had posted earlier in a separate thread https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=107765.0 of my problem of the PVS coming on and disappearing, I thought that I would try the TVR software!
Installation went fine  ... and yeah no serial no. was asked ... is this freeware?  Anyways, when I click on the "Watch and Record DTV Program", I get a message stating Quote
    Cannot Set capture device...
    (1000)
Can someone help me  .... let me know how I can set up my device without entering the program?
    I'm using:
    MSI TV@nywhere Master
    MSI P965 Neo MoBo
    WinXP Professional
    C2D E6400
    1GB Ram
    7300GT
Looking forward to getting any assistance in helpin me use this card ... either with TVR or MSIPVS.
    Thanks & Cheers!

    Do you have sound card?
I am using TV@Anywhere Plus on Vista Ultimate. And I encountered the same thing. When I ran the TV card for the first time on Vista to check if it works fine, it gave me the same message, "cannot set capture device".
I realized that my sound card driver is not yet installed. So I installed the driver for my Creative sound card but since Creative doesn't have an updated driver for Vista at this moment, I did some searching and found a 3rd party software that's compatible with my sound card and Vista - and that fixed the problem.
I am not sure if that will also apply on you.
    Note;
If you're using a sound card and haven't installed the driver yet. Try to install it. Maybe that will fix it.

  • Sound problems with CNBC and E4 with TV @nywhere Master

Got the TV @nywhere Master card, had no problems with tuning in the cable stations picked up all the channels, but E4 and CNBC have no sound just a anoying clicking sound. Have updated the drivers and software, tried the card with Windows 2000 SP4, and XP pro SP1, tried both internal & external audio connections, nothing makes a difference. Anyone got any idea's?

I bought and installed a TV@nywhere Master yesterday (18June03) and no sound problems at all. The Radio volume control definitely controls the line in volume, but check that the mixer Volume Control is not being muted. My Sound in via on-board sound 6 channel Realtek ACL650.
I have been generally very pleased with the results but have yet to get the remote to do anything, I have WinXP SP1 with all updates installed. Not sure if it is my System set-up or faulty remote but it a minor concern for me.
I would suggest that you take a look at VirtualVCR (freeware) for your capturing if you want more that Mpeg files. It works very well for me and allows me to capture using the frame size and codec of my choosing

  • Windows 10 Upgrade Salellite - Resolving battery and power issues

My upgrade seemed to go smoothly until I tried to unplug my laptop and use it with the battery. It shut down even though it shows that I have 100% charge. It was working fine before the upgrade. When I put my model into the site it says that it is not compatible for the upgrade but otherwise everything seems fine so far except that I cant use my battery. Someone I know suggested that I might need to download a driver but I have no idea which one or if that is the problem. I would appreciate some help with this. I have Satellite C875-S7303. Model # PSCBAU-009005.  If anyone knows what I can do that would be so great. Thank you!

  • Numerous Problems with New TV@nywhere Master

Greetings all.  A few days ago, I purchased a TV@nywhere Master card.  I own two MSI mainboards and an MSI video card that I think are great, but so far this product has been nothing but junk.  I am having numerous problems with it that I have not been able to resolve:
    1.  The remote control just plain doesn't work.
    2.  I am unable to adjust the TV volume within the MSIPVR tuner software.  Turning it up and down or muting it does nothing.  However, whenever I exit the program, it mutes the line-in jack on my sound card and doesn't unmute it when I run the program again!  I have to run the Creative Surround Mixer and unmute the jack before I get any TV audio.
    3.  Originally when I booted up, the radio tuner kicked in with a fuzzy feed, even though the software was not running.  I had to run the software and exit it to make this stop.  I believe this has resolved itself.
    4.  The MSIPVR software seems very unstable.
I have tried updating all the software from the official MSI drivers page and I also tried the unofficial releases of both the drivers and the MSIPVR 3.0 beta from this forum.  The 3.0 beta build seems even more unstable (though it is a beta so this is understandable), but none of my other problems have been resolved either.  I've perused the forums looking for ideas, but haven't found anything that's worked.  I've also tried all these steps on two different systems that I have with the same results.
I'm really shocked that MSI would release such a low-quality product as most of their other things are quite well made.  I am looking to see if anyone has suggestions I can try to resolve this.  I am interested in keeping this card if these can be fixed, but if not, I'll be returning this unit and picking up something from ATI instead.  There's absolutely no reason for a card to be runnign this poorly and be in a shipping state.
Below are my system specifications should they be of any help:
    AthlonXP 2800+ FSB333
    MSI K7N2 Delta-L nForce 2
    1024MB PQI PC3700 LL
    Sound Blaster Audigy
    ATI RADEON 9600XT
    Promise FastTrak TX2000
2x40GB Western Digital 8MB (In RAID 0 Stripe)
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

One more note (great stuff Stu:))... with regards to the remote... try to give it a slight extra push into the socket :D.
As stupid as it sounds, it happens :p... at least with me it did. I kept on trying to get the remote to work in the beginning, only to find out in the end that I hadn't played it ALL the way into the input socket. After the click, it worked.
I hope you can get the sound stuff working though. That's definitely a pain :(. I'm personally having issues with the original card and new software now... but yeah, I shall wait on your feedback first:).
OK, I've finally had some time to try out the various other suggestions that have been made and unfortunately, have met with no success.  I tried changing my audio to CD In on my Audigy which still has the same sound problems.  I also checked out the connection with the remote and it is in all the way.  Still no go on that one.  My power supply ratings are:
    +5V:  35A Maximum/0A Minimum
    +12V:  24A Maximum/0.8A Minimum
    +3.3V:  28A Maximum/0A Minimum
    -5V:  0.5A Maximum/0A Minimum
    -12V:  1.0A Maximum/0A Minimum
    +5V SB:  2.0A Maximum/0A Minimum
At this point, I'm pretty much at my wits end.  If anyone has other ideas, I can entertain them, but tomorrow if I don't have this up, I'll be taking it back.  This card is demonstrating itself as just poorly designed and built.  Thanks for your help all!

  • MSI TV@nywhere MASTER PCI TV Tuner card FAQ

So you’ve just decided to add a MSI TV@nywhere Master card to your PC, you’re gonna need some help installing it then!! Before you continue, I recommend you download the Unofficial New Drivers in the other sticky, to avoid any heart (and brain!) ache.
For best results also, you should be running at least DirectX 8.1. This is included on the driver CD, or you can download the latest version from Microsoft's DirectX Page. If you have a P4 which supports Hyperthreading, you will also need at least Windows XP SP2, otherwise you will have to disable hyperthreading in BIOS.
You should also be in the habit of having the latest drivers for your video card, audio card and motherboard chipset; this can also avoid any future TV software failure. And make sure you regularly run Windows Update (or use the Automatic Update feature) to keep your Windows clean and up-to-date. And also remember when installing new drivers or software, if the installer suggests you restart the computer then do so, before you install anything else! Drivers not installing correctly are common causes of problems, especially with this card!
    INSTALLING THE HARDWARE
I’m presuming you’re familiar with the concepts of building and upgrading PCs, so I won’t go into too much detail on obvious stuff (like “remove the side panel of your case, locate a free PCI slot…”).
Fit the TV@nywhere Master card into a free PCI slot. If you didn’t get one with it, you’ll need a CD-audio lead from somewhere (the thin grey lead). If you have one connected between your CD drive and your soundcard CD-Audio In connector, then use that, any version of Windows after 98 supports digital audio extraction, so it is not needed there now. Connect one end of the audio lead to the 4 pin header on the TV@nywhere card and the other to the AUX input on your soundcard (or motherboard if using onboard). If you are installing the Mega TV Tuner in a Mega series barebones, connect it to the TV audio input on the mainboard to the rear. Don’t worry about using the 3.5mm jack plug lead to connect tv card audio, we don’t need it now, doing it this way.
    CONNECTING YOUR TV SIGNAL
Depending on your global location, this may vary. Either way you need to connect either a aerial (ANTENNA) or cable (CABLE) to the CATV connector on the card. Someone will no doubt clarify this for me, but cable is for US-type cable, which doesn’t need a decoder box. Most people will be using the Antenna I’m guessing. Your choice of CABLE or ANTENNA needs to be remembered, you’ll need this later.
You will not be able (or have limited success) in connecting a video recorder or set-top box to the CATV connector. Instead you will need to use the Composite or S-Video connector, and connect the audio source either directly to the soundcard or to the Line-in on the TV card.
    INSTALLING THE DRIVER
Don’t use the driver on the CD. Download the latest driver from the MSI download page. If you are a Mega series user, make sure that Windows has been installed onto the C: drive. If not you’ll have to reinstall, and disable the USB controller in BIOS to prevent the card readers becoming the C: and D: drives. This also causes problems later.
I would advise temporarily disabling any anti-virus programs at this point, to avoid any complications.
When you start up after first installing the card, cancel any Found New Hardware wizards that appear. OK, so extract the contents of the downloaded ZIP, and run the PVSSetup.exe file to install the drivers. Once this is complete, RESTART your PC and the drivers will be installed for the new hardware found.
Check in Device Manager, there should be four new hardware listed under Sound, Video and Game Controllers related to MS8606. If you see any with the (?) next to them, you might need to try the card in another slot.
    INSTALLING THE MSIPVS TV SOFTWARE
If you wish to use other TV recording software other than MSIPVS then please feel free to do so.
MSI do not make their own software. At least not all the time. MSIPVS is a rebranded version of Intervideo’s WinDVR software, with extra features added such as network streaming for TV@nywhere. Some people love it. Lots of people hate it. Generally most people who have posted here hate it. People who love it tend not to post if they don't have problems.  The people that hate it generally mess initial settings up, which can cause problems when they try to change it. The more patient of us will always get it eventually right!
Install the MSIPVS software. Easy as that. Its setting it up correctly that’s the tricky part. Listed below are the main things to look for when performing initial setup. If you are unsure about anything else then read the manual! Only a complete genius would dare install any unfamiliar hardware without having the manual handy for reference - how do you suppose I learnt anything?
    Device
    Video Input:
"Device" is always the Conexant Cx2388x Video Capture"
"Source" - select TV if you are connecting your signal to the CATV connector (antenna or cable), select S-Video or Composite if using these instead
"Standard" - set this to your local TV standard, eg if in UK set to "PAL-I". if unsure, do a Google search and find out!!
If you don't set these correctly you won't receive any channels and/or they will appear incorrectly.
    Audio Input:
"Device" will be your soundcard or onboard audio device
"Source" will be the connector your TV card audio output is connected to, this will be "TV" on Mega series, otherwise check!! If you connected the internal lead to AUX on your soundcard or mobo, then set it to "AUX". If you used external lead to connect to Line-In, this will be "Line-in" etc etc.
If you don't set these correctly you may or may not hear audio while watching live TV, and you will hear no audio on recorded TV.
    TV
    Tuner:
"Input" will be Antenna if you have an aerial connected, or Cable if you are connected to unencoded cable TV.
"Country or Region" - if need to explain this one then maybe you shouldn't have this card!
    Channel
Now we will see if your settings and TV signal are good! Tick the Freescan box, and then click on Autoscan. This may take a while, and for a short time it may appear that the program is doing nothing. Patience! It will soon start, and then pick up any available channels it can find.
Make sure you have a good strong signal if you are using an aerial, otherwise TV@nywhere won’t pick up as many channels. UK viewers – just using a simple set-top aerial and signal booster, I could even receive Channel Five (or “five” as it is known now!)
So at this point now, if all has gone well, you should be able to watch and record TV on your PC!                                     If it hasn't...

"I've lost my CDs and MSIPVS needs a serial number to install!"
MSI in their wisdom printed the serial key for MSIPVS on the actual CD. This serial key is the same printed on EVERY CD. Which kind of defeats the object in my humble opinion. Anyways, the answer can be found in this post: MSIPVS requires serial number!
"When installing MSIPVS, the program hangs then shows a message saying "remote procedure call failed" "
If you are a Mega user, you have installed Windows onto a partition other than C:. You will need to reinstall Windows, making sure you disable USB controller in BIOS, so that the card readers do not take up C: and D: drives. Upon first restart (after Windows has created partition), you may re-enter BIOS and enable USB controller before Windows continues installing itself.
"MSIPVS installs, but when I start the application I get an error message "WinDVR has caused a problem and needs to shutdown" "
hpkuo credits this to sizzle in his hints and tips thread, but I'll elaborate a little. The problem is caused by QuickTime codecs installed by Nero 6.3.1.15. It is unclear whether later versions of Nero were fixed, but earlier versions should be okay. "A "quick fix" is to rename the files "NeQTADec.ax" and "NeQTVDec.ax" in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\"."
Another alternative suggestion is to uninstall the codecs from the registry. I found this solution in another forum for another TV card with same problem:
Go to Start > Run (or press Windows key + R) and enter:
    regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeQTADec.ax"
    regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeQTVDec.ax"
The only consequence seems to be that Nero Vision can’t decode Apple Quick time format after this (something I can live with)
If you do require QuickTime codecs to be installed, there is the Quicktime alternative available from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm . Or you could just use an earlier version of Nero.
PS if you are using a non-english setup of Windows, then the above paths will relate to how windows translates on your PC - ie subsitute Program Files etc for your local translation
"I have connected the external audio lead to the Line-In (blue) jack on my mobo, and set it correctly in MSIPVS, but I hear no TV sound"
If your mobo supports 5.1 speakers but only has three jacks on rear, the Line-in and Mic jacks have been configured to act as Rear Speaker and Center/Sub outputs. If you have only two speakers, they should be connected to the green Front Speaker jack. You will need to go into your audio hardware's configuration panel / Windows Audio Device Properties to correctly configure the rear jacks.
The other alternative is to use the internal audio connector - simply use a CD-audio lead to connect it to the AUX or CD internal connector on your mobo or soundcard. CD audio leads (the analog grey lead from your CD drive to the soundcard / mobo CD audio connector) are redundant now, as Windows now uses digital audio extraction through IDE channel. Make sure you set the audio signal correctly in MSIPVS to match this.
"When I start up Windows I can hear a hissing like "static" / the radio is playing"
One issue that was fixed in the latest Drivers; if that still doesn't work then the Radio volume is not muted at Windows startup. I'll let hschroed take over here:
"Both MSI Radio and MSI PVS, unmute the TV card at program start, and mute the TV card at SUCCESSFUL program exit (remember we are not talking about the soundcard mixer state here). What this means is as long as a single program start and a single SUCCESSFUL program exit takes place, the TV card tuner will be muted, regardless of what the soundcard mixer audio source states are. If the PC is rebooted (without a PC power-off), for whatever reason, while the MSI Radio or MSI PVS program is executing (a successful exit has not been performed), the TV card will remain in an unmuted state until the next startup and successful exit of either of the two programs.
The TV card mute/unmute status is carried over a reboot without PC power off. What this means is that after a PC power on, once the TV card has been properly muted by a start and successful exit of the MSI program, the TV card mute/unmute status should be in proper synchronization with the applications (regardless of the soundcard mixer status), as long as the PC is not powered off. (Romulus mentions computer coming out of standby. I did not test that scenario but I would expect that if going into standby means power is stopped to TV card, the effect would be similar to a PC power off)."
"My regular TV receives all 5 channels (even Channel Five!), but when I connect aerial to TV@nywhere I only get 3"
Common to all TV tuner hardware (not just MSI's!) is the need for a good strong signal. A moderate signal might appear okay on a regular domestic TV, but might not be strong enough for the TV tuner hardware. Consider investing in a good signal booster, or getting your aerial changed.
Consequently, I have also learned today that TOO strong a signal is bad for TV tuner cards, as soon as I know more I'll let you know...
"I have connected my VCR to the CATV connector, but it does not appear when autoscanning."
"I cannot receive any channels when I connect my Sky box to the RF (CATV) connector."
Thanks to a wonderful technology called "Macrovision" protection, many VCRs and satellite/cable boxes won't work in this way by connecting them using their RF output. Anyone who gets a result is very lucky. There's always the Composite and S-Video In connectors to try. But either way, the TV@nywhere card won't scan all their channels, you'll still have to change them manually.
"Windows XP Media Center says that my "tuner hardware is malfunctioning or not installed" but I have installed the latest TV@nywhere drivers from MSI"
Neither the Vox or the TV@nywhere cards are compatible with MCE2005. MCE2005 requires an analogue TV card capable of hardware MPEG2 encoding, or a software DVB-T (digital) card that already receives an MPEG2 video stream over-the-air.
You can however still use the Vox or the TV@nywhere using the MSIPVS software outside of the MCE2005 application.
"MSIPVS keeps defaulting my location back to Afghanistan, even though I set it to US / UK/ Sweden / Latvia / Kazahkstan"
You will need to reinstall the drivers and software due to a glitch. Uninstall MSIPVS and the tuner drivers (with its PVSSetup.exe setup program) then restart your PC, and ignore the Found New Hardware wizard. Install the tuner drivers with the PVSSetup.exe program, then restart your PC. Then install MSIPVS, restart your PC and you're good to go again!
"Where can I find these "Unofficial New Drivers" that people keep referring to here?"
The "Unofficial New (BETA) Drivers" became obsolete when MSI officially released them. You can find them on the Product Support page for this card, as they are now the latest drivers. MSI TV@nywhere Master product page

  • TV@nywhere Master (MS-8606) + its programs

hi i did something stupid. i have lost all the cds that came bundled with the TV@nywhere Master (MS-8606). now after a format of my hard drive, i can not use the tv tuner. anybody got any clues where to find all the software, including the software? PLEASE?????

there are two stickies at the top of this forum, one has unofficial new drivers for the Master card, and another has new test MSIPVS
if you don't feel that brave, then the original drivers and software can be found on the TV@nywhere Download page on the MSI website. however i suggest you still at least use the unofficial drivers as they fix several common issues.
and if you can't remember the serial key for the MSIPVS software (handily printed on CD), MSI PVS install requires serial number
    good luck!

  • TV@nywhere Master poor video quality with 6800 GT

I have the TV@nywhere master (8606-020) and it was working fin with my NVIDIA Geforce 6800 GT OC (256MB) but when I updated the driver to their latest version, every time I would go full-screen in MSIPVR it would make lines all through the video.  I reinstalled drivers, MSIPVS and same thing.  I then rolled back the NVIDIA driver, and the issue disappeared.  Anyone have the same issue and know how to use the new driver from NVIDIA and get it working right?  Thanks!
                                              - Mike

    Hi:
Thaniks for writing back. My comment really was directed at ellucidating how many others might have poorer quality using Nvidia 6800-based graphics cards as the originator of this thread implicated. Second, as to your comments, it would seem a good idea to stay with the old drivers. The new drivers were supposed to solve TitanTV directed recordings; this they do better, but still insufficiently at least in my hands. Maybe the only choice left is to stay with the originals. But before uninstalling the current version and installing the original, I had a third question that perhaps you could address.
Perhaps you could comment on why the driver scan at http://driveragent.com
reveals my currently up-to-date version MSI 8606 (TV@nywhere master) Audio Capture and MSI 8606 Video capture drivers are out of date? Based on the listings in Device Manager, they are currently Conexant version cx88aud.sys, 2.3.79.0 and C88Vid.SYS, 4.0.102.0. Did my drivers fail to update correctly, are there drivers for this available somewhere else, not listed on the MSI website, like Intervideo, etc, or is this website wrong? I hate to pay money to find out they are simply wrong. Do you get the same results?

  • Web Service authentication and PROXY Issue

    HI All,
Recently I developed an application in Flex 2 which uses
webservices to access remote data. One more point to be noted, that
these webservices are secured( i.e they need username and password
    to access)
    I got a production server ( say
myProduction server) and all my webservices are deployed on
it. We have a SAP portal running on this server. I have created a
PAR file of my applications .SWF file and hosted it on the portal.
When I run my application from myProduction, it runs fine, no
    issues with it.
Now, I have a proxy server ( say
myProxy server), which is used to make my application
    available on the internet.
This proxy redirects all the requests to myProduction server.
When I try to run my application from myProxy Server, I am
    getting the following error:
[RPC Fault faultString="Security error accessing url"
    faultCode=
    Channel.Security.Error"
faultDetail="Unable to load WSDL". If currently online,
please verify the URI and/or format of the WSDL (

Do I need any configuration files to be maintained? How do I
    resolve this proxy issue??
myProxy server is not able to load the WSDL from
myProduction.I am not usinfgFlex Data Services. I am directly
    accessing the services.
If anyone knows about this issue please help me. Any help
    would be greatly appreciated.
This issues has been unresolved since 15 days now.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I am not sure if what I am suggesting may be the source for
the problem, but it could be that you will need a
crossdomain.xml file deployed on your production server, so
that it can accept the requests from the Portal. Also, I guess you
    will be using a
    flex-config.xml or
services-config.xml. Just make sure that all server paths
have been properly mapped to the values entered in the destination
    attributes of the WebService tags.
    I hope that helps.

  • How do I email customer service? I spent an hour on the phone with a customer service rep and my issue was not remedied.

Need to email customer service management or supervisor to get an issue resolved. I don't see any email options only chat and call and I don't have time to do another hour phone call today.

There is no email for customer support.  Your options are phone, chat, or social media.  Or perhaps going in to a corporate store in person?  Since you haven't given a clue as to what your unresolved issue is, it's hard to know what the best approach would be.

  • TV@nywhere Master

During startup static starts coming from TV@nywhere Master sounding like radio off station). After Win2k has finished loading, I can start either MSI Radio or MSIPVS and it will stop. The radio will also come on sounding normal (on previous station) after coming out of standby.
    Attempts to correct this problem:
Uninstall / Reinstalled software several times
Downloaded new drivers, MSI Radio, MSIPVS from MSI Website and installed
Removed card and installed in different pci slot
About a month ago, I installed larger hdd (160gb) along with a fresh install
of Win 2k Pro sp4. I still have the same problem with this card.
Any help or solution will be greatly appreciated.

Romulus' recommendation is effective in a very specific situation. That situation being, that the soundcard/chip mixer setting for the TV card audio source is in fact in a muted state at system boot.
To clarify for any members that may look at this as a solution for similar problem, I will try to explain the relationship between the TV and soundcard/chip settings and the TV @nywhere Master programs. This explanation is based on tests I have done with Win XP SP1 and a Creative Audigy 2 soundcard. The test results may be different for other configurations. In my discussion I will refer to a soundcard but the discussion should also be relevant for a motherboard sound chip.
The TV @nywhere Master card has two audio out options. An external adapter for your soundcard external Line-In and an internal adapter, typically for the soundcard internal Aux-In. Whether or not the electrical characteristics of the TV card internal audio out is such that it can be used with an alternate soundcard audio-in such as the TAD input, was not tested.
The desirable connection between the TV card and the soundcard, is the internal one. This frees the soundcard Line-in for other use, and based on personal experience, the internal connection is less prone to picking up extraneous electrical noise (just my observation, I have no explanation).
There are actually two audio muting actions that take place in this configuration. If MSI Radio or MSIPVS are started and stopped normally, a command is issued to the tuner card (not the audio card mixer) to unmute/mute the radio or tv tuner audio. In this discussion I will refer to this as the tuner card mute/unmute. Subsequently, the soundcard mixer may receive an unmute/mute, depending on which program is being started/stopped. I will refer to this as the soundcard mute/unmute.
So here is where we run into a few of dilemas. First, the soundcard mute/unmute:
    1. MSI Radio has no configuration settings to identify the TV card audio source. It assumes that the audio connection is through the soundcard external Line-in. Therefore any program manipulation of the soundcard mute/unmute is to the Line-in. You are out of luck if you connected TV card to soundcard Aux-in; you will have to manually unmute/mute that sound source.
    2. MSI Radio takes a snapshot of the soundcard mixer CD, Line-in, Mic, and Aux mute/unmute states and restores ALL of them after a normal program exit. That means that if Line-in was already unmuted at program start, it will remain unmuted at program exit. Same with Aux-in.
    3. MSI PVS has configuration settings to identify the TV card audio source, unfortunately, it does not (in my setup anyway) recognize the Aux-in source. Again, you are out of luck if you connected TV card to soundcard Aux-in. (MSI has not provided me with an explanation why the Aux-in of the Creative Audigy 2 is not recognized by MSI PVS. Other programs do not have the same problem.)
    4. MSI PVS will unmute the TV card audio source identified in its configuration at the start of the program, but does not mute it on exit.
    5. At system start, the Creative soundcard sets the audio source mute/unmute states to the what they were last before system shutdown. What this means is that whatever the state of mixer mute/unmute is as a result of points 1-4, that is what the state will be when Windows starts. (The exception being the Master volume. It is unmuted at system start no matter what the shutdown status was, but does get reset to the last state, later on in the start process, so there is a period were the TV card noise is heard after a power on.)
What 1 - 5 means is that you cannot rely on the MSI applications to mute the audio source at program exit, and you cannot rely on the TV card audio souce to be muted at system start.
Some observations of the TV card mute/unmute:
    6. Both MSI Radio and MSI PVS, unmute the TV card at program start, and mute the TV card at SUCCESSFUL program exit (remember we are not talking about the soundcard mixer state here).
    7. I did not test that scenario but I would expect that if going into standby means power is stopped to TV card, the effect would be similar to a PC power off).
What this all boils down to is that the perfect solution to this problem would be if the TV card default audio state at PC power up was mute, since there is no way to guarantee that the soundcard audio source state will be mute. I don't know if this requires a hardware patch or a change in the MSI drivers.
Another way would be to guarantee that the soundcard mixer audio source state is mute before system shutdown. The Creative mixer does not have a way to force audio source states at system start, it just resets the states to whatever they were at shutdown. This would suggest if a utility was automatically executed at shutdown to mute the soundcard audio source, maybe at system power-up, the state will be reset. If anyone is aware of such a utility, I would be interested. The ones that I have seen so far, mute only the Master volume, which as indicated above, is not sufficient.
The alternative is not to power off the PC.
