TV out - I want to watch movies on a TV

I know the screen on a iPod is good, but it is small. It is nowhere near as good as a 40 inch TV. In my old iPod classic this was no problem.I could watch my movies on a full size TV using my classic iPod. Yet I have just bought a iPod touch and cannot work out how to do this. The manual implies I cannot do so.
Any way known I can watch videos or even photos that are stored on my iPod touch on a full size TV?

"The manual implies I cannot do so. "
How does the manual do this?
From the manual:
"TV Out
Use these settings to control how iPod touch plays videos on your TV.
Turn widescreen on or off: Choose Video and turn Widescreen on or off.
Set TV signal to NTSC or PAL: Choose Video > TV Signal and select NTSC or PAL.
NTSC and PAL are TV broadcast standards. iPod touch displays NTSC 480p/PAL 576p
when attached to a TV using a Component AV Cable, or NTSC 480i/PAL 576i using a
Composite AV Cable. Your TV might use NTSC or PAL, depending on where you bought
it. If you’re not sure which to use, check the documentation that came with your TV.
For more information about using iPod touch to play videos on your TV, see “Watching
Videos on a TV” on page 64.
AND:
"Watching Videos on a TV

    Hi Maryan,
Open System Preferences > Displays > select the window for you external monitor > click on the Arrangement tab and check the box next to Mirror Displays. It may be slightly different in Lion, but the idea is the same.

  • We have purchased a movie on Apple TV (2) and its taking too long to load, so we want to watch movie on Itunes on the computer but can't find rented movies on the MAC

We have purchased a movie via Apple TV (2) and its taking too long to load, so we want to watch movie on Itunes on the computer but can't find rented movies on the MAC iTunes

Movies rented on Apple TV aren't transferable to another device. If its taking awhile to load then its an issue with your network.
What is your speed via speedtest.net
    1080p requires 8mbps
    720p needs 6mbps
You can change to SD in settings
Interference can cause issues, verify via istumbler or netstumbler
Should be using ISPs DNS (settings - network - DNS should be automatic)

  • Why do I have to quit itunes and restart when I want to watch movies on my Apple TV?

Every day I come home and put on a movie or TV show from my iTunes library but every day when I go into the Apple TV to the computers,  it says "loading Mac" but times out and goes back to themain screen.  Only after I quit itunes on my computer and restart it will it find the itunes and show the contents of my itunes library.
It is getting frustrating.  This began about 2 software updates ago.  I even bought the new Apple TV

Lion may have replaced files that partially made up your printer drivers. Either way, HP saw fit to make a new set of drivers specifically for 10.7 so you may want to use it simply to avoid any bugs tehy found.

  • I just want to watch movies

Are there any websites that I can watch streaming movies on?

The YouTube app does not use Flash. If you are referring to pirated movies on YouTube they are not accessible through the app, but they also don't last long on YouTube.
Don't know what other legal services are available in ITaly and don't know the terms of service in Italy for HBO GO, I'm sure you are capable of checking.
As far as discussing flash here, I doubt you can come up with anything new:

I rented a movie on my Apple TV and now I also want to watch the movie on my Mac.  How do I access the rented movie without having to rent again from the Mac?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you rent a movie on the Apple TV, then it can only be watched on the Apple TV. If you want to watch movies on multiple devices, you need to download it to your computer, where you can then transfer it to other devices or stream it to your Apple TV as well as watch it from your Mac.

  • Running Out Of Storage Due to Movies Purchased, Help!

Well here I thought "how cool it is to BUY movies, download them into iTunes"...BUT not so great for your iMac storage space.  I do not have that many movies but it has used up almost 146 GBs
So reading a very old discussion I wanted to post a new question as of today ... what do all the iMac Pros out there recommend for a good/safe external hard drive for my iMac so I can move my movies off the internal storage and onto the exernal drive?  and how much do they cost?
Will I be able to tell itunes which drive to look at when I want to watch movies, say from Apple TV?
I am still a newbie with Mac so not comfortable with just doing this on my own as I would with Winows in years past.
Hope to hear from others soon
    Thanks,
    KinectGirl8

This is extremely easy, move your iTunes library to an external HD. Apple explains how to do this in iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder located at http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449. For an external HD I strongly recommend OWC (www.macsales.com) Mercury Elite Pro series. You can find them at:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/1394/USB/EliteAL/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB
You didn't tell us which iMac you have, if your machine has a Firewire or FW800 port then get one with those ports. If you only have Thunderbolt you can still use those connections but you will require a Thunderbolt to FW adapter available from Apple.
BTW I have 2 Apple TV's and have my complete iTunes library, photos and more on a external OWC HD. I am able to easily stream all of my content to my TV using both AppleTVs,  my movie collection is a about 350 movies, well over 30000 songs as well as thousands of photos managed in Aperture.

  • What cable do I need to watch movies on my Sony HDTV LCD tv from MacBook pr

I have a brand new MacBook pro 13" and just wanted to watch movies on my tv instead of the laptop, thanks

Depends on what input options you have on your TV.
If your TV has DVI in then you need a MiniDisplay Port to DVI Adapter.
If your TV does not have DVI in but has HDMI then you need a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support.

  • What do I need to watch moves on my tv from my imac?

Ok I want to watch movies on my tv with my imac. I have the 27-inch, Mid 2011 here is the back of the tv:
What will I need to watch movies on my tv from my imac?

A Mid 2011 iMac has got Thunderbolt, which can be used to connect the iMac to your TV through HDMI.
Get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, and a HDMI cable. You have to connect the Mini DisplayPort adapter to the Thunderbolt port of the iMac. Image will appear on your TV automatically, unless you have to set the TV in HDMI mode. Another option is to get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable, so you don't have to buy an adapter and a cable

  • How to watch movie in iphone4s

What program can i download so that i can watch movies in iphone4s

There is already a videos app on the phone. Purchase or rent a movie from the iTunes store, download it, and watch it.
If you want to watch movies from some other source, then you're going to have to be less vague.

  • Can't watch movies online

Hi so I just recently bought a 13" Macbook Air. So of course I wanted to go to youtube to see some reviews or tips on my Macbook but youtube videos won't play. All I see is a black screen, no pause button, it's not buffering. I saw a post saying to turn off plug-ins in the preferences. And yes, it worked. But now I want to watch movies online, I can't because it's says I need to install Java. I don't get it? Shouldn't the turn off plug-ins do the trick? I'm new here so please help me. It will be much appreciated. Thank you

    Hi Vfambam
Happy New Year!  Congratulations on the purchase of your new MacBook!      If you are getting a prompt that you need to install Java, see the resource below:
    Java for OS X 2014-001

Keep your software up to date. If you need Java, download the latest version of Java for OS X directly from Oracle https://www.java.com
I hope this information helps ....

  • Qosmio G20: watching movies - no sound from TV

    Hi
I want to watch movies playing in my qosmio G20 but displaying it on my TV
I connected it using S-Video cable and its getting displayed but no sounds, the sound is still coming from the laptop.
Is there a way I can make the sound come from the TV or my surround sound system?
    Cheers

    Hi
As far as I know S-video is just for video signal and on this way you can see just picture displayed on the TV. If you want to have sound you must connect headphone jack to the TV.
The best solution is if you use delivered SCART cable. On this way the picture and sound will be send to the TV.
    Bye

  • HT1551 Airplay problems trying to watch movies from another player besides itunes.

I just bought my apple tv and want to watch movies from my macbook without mirroring my whole computer screen. Is it possible to do that? Do I have to use itunes to airplay movies? I use a VLC player to watch movies and it does not give me an air play button. So the only way to watch my HD movies is to miror my whole computer screen and then it doesnt even give me audio. Audio only works with quicktime player with mirroring. Any tips/suggestions? And I have apple tv 3 it wouldnt give me the option to select it.

iTunes is the only app that can airplay natively, everything else is via mirroring. In terms of 3rd party apps there is one called beamer, it has a trial so you can see if it works for your needs.
