TV Out resolution 1024x768

Hello!
I have Msi G4Ti4400 VTD card .
The max. is only 800x600
But the card should suport 1024x768 tv out.How can I fix it?

How does the Apple TV work with this weird resolution?
It doesn't. It is the function of the TV to handle the display, depending on how the files are encoded, the TV aspect mode you are using, and whether the input is digital or analog in nature. Basically, a properly encoded TV file will be placed in 1280x720 display window and sent to the display device. From then on, it is up to the TV to properly (or improperly) scale and display the content under the previously stated conditions.
If it works normally, if I stream movies from my Macbook to the Apple TV, will it show the proper aspect ratio?
Since you used the term "stream," I assume you are referring to the wired or wireless digital streaming of content from your laptop to an TV device connected directly or indirectly to your TV. In that case, the answer is yes under the same conditions previously stated. If by "streaming" you mean a direct video connection between the laptop and the TV, then it depends on the interface being used.
Is this just a computer thing?
No, it is a file encoding-original aspect ratio-connection-TV capabilities-user settings thing.

  • How to find out resolution of an image?

    Hi, all
    Most common image formats (DIB, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and perhaps others) store the resolution of the image in pixels per inch (or other, similar units). I haven't found a way to find out this information using the Java libraries. Neither the AWT image classes nor the snazzy JAI classes seem to read & store this information, let alone make it public.
    Is there a way to determine the resolution, short of poking through the header of the image data myself?
    Thanks
    - rick

    Here's the solution (hopefully no one else ever has to track it down - the documentation is very well hidden by Sun).
                             ImageInputStream imageInput = ImageIO.createImageInputStream( fil );
                             Iterator it = ImageIO.getImageReaders(imageInput);
                             ImageReader reader = null;
                             while (it.hasNext()) {
                                  reader = (ImageReader) it.next();
                                  System.out.println(reader.toString());
                             reader.setInput(imageInput);
                             ImageReadParam param = reader.getDefaultReadParam();
                             BufferedImage bimg = reader.read(0, param);
                             IIOMetadata meta = reader.getImageMetadata(0);
                             org.w3c.dom.Node n = meta.getAsTree( "javax_imageio_1.0" );
                             n = n.getFirstChild();
                             while (n != null){
                                  if( n.getNodeName().equals( "Dimension")){
                                       org.w3c.dom.Node n2 = n.getFirstChild();
                                       String s1, s2;
                                       while (n2 != null){
                                            if(n2.getNodeName().equals("HorizontalPixelSize")){
                                                 org.w3c.dom.NamedNodeMap nnm = n2.getAttributes();
                                                 org.w3c.dom.Node n3 = nnm.item( 0 );
                                                 float hps = Float.parseFloat( n3.getNodeValue() );
                                                 xDPI = Math.round (25.4f / hps);
                                            if(n2.getNodeName().equals("VerticalPixelSize")){
                                                 org.w3c.dom.NamedNodeMap nnm = n2.getAttributes();
                                                 org.w3c.dom.Node n3 = nnm.item( 0 );
                                                 float vps = Float.parseFloat( n3.getNodeValue() );
                                                 yDPI = Math.round (25.4f / vps);
                                            n2 = n2.getNextSibling();
                                  n = n.getNextSibling();

  • Satellite Pro P300: external resolution 1024x768 instead of 1680x1050

    Hi,
    I run my Sat P300 on XP, and the screen on this laptop is just fine (1440x900 pixels on radeon HD 3650).
    Now I want to connect the laptop to an external flatscreen monitor, a Samsung, that asks for a optimal resolution of 1680x1050 pixels.
    The samsung monitor works fine on my older laptop: I close the lid of the laptop,and the screen switches to the Samsung with the correct 1680x1050 resolution.
    Now, when I connect the P300 and close the lid, the screen switches to the Samsung, but the actual resolution on the monitor is 1024x768, despite the fact that the 1680x1050 setting is set in the screen properties windows.
    In fact, the screen probably is 1680x1050, but the monitor only sees 1024x768 (i.e. the desktop is bigger than the monitor can show, and I can push the desktop left/right or up/down with the mouse.
    So it appears (hey, this is just a guess) that the radeon sends a 1680x1050 screen with the wrong frequency (48.2 KHz instead of 64,4 KHz as my monitor shows) !?
    The Samsung drivers are installed, and I updated the BIOS to 3.40 win, but no solution.
    Anyone an idea ?

    Hi
    I posted my assumption in other thread but I would like to post it here too.
    If you are not able to choose your favorite resolution on external monitor then this two reasons might be responsible for that:
    1 the graphic card driver does not contain and does not support this resolution
    2 the graphic card chip does not support the external resolution
    In both cases the resolution will be not listed in the settings!
    However, Lars posted a useful information which can be found in the user manual and you can see that your favorite resolution is not listed.

  • TV out resolution

    I finally connected my MSI MEGA 180 to my TV, but got some
    problems.
    If i use 800x600 on my 36"" Sony widescreen i get 3 cm black bars on top/bottom.
    What resolution should i use ?
    I tried adding a custom resolution of 720x576, then it shrinked to 1 cm top/bottom.
    800x800 seems to be too high, it makes the screen scroll, it doesn get right if i try values between 600 and 800, it suddenly gets too big.
    Whats the recomended screen resolution on tv out for a widescreen tv ??
    Or how do i stretch it so it covers the entire screen ?
    I'm not impressed with the quality, it's very blurry, hard to see text etc...

    Hi,
    I've been away a while, so I only just found this thread.
    Firstly - the TV standards.
    NTSC = National Television Standards Commitee, aka Never Twice the Same Colour, used in US and other third world TV countries
    SECAM = SEquential Coleur Avec Memoir, aka Something Essentially Contrary to the American Method. Used in France, Russia and related countries.
    PAL = Phase Alternating Line, aka Peace At Last. Solves the green faces/ purple trees problems that plague NTSC. Used in enlightened countries
    TV vertical resolution is set by the number of lines - about 480 for NTSC, 580 for PAL and SECAM. Horizontal resolution is set by the maximum video bandwidth, about 5MHz for PAL, 4MHz for NTSC. Colour bandwidth is worse. The upshot is that 800x600 is the maximum resolution you can reasonably display on a TV, and even then you need to use large fonts for it to be readable.
    There are some variations each format, for more info, look here
    Most TV sets are deliberately overscanned - the picture is larger than the "frame". The smaller the set, the more the overscan, and the more information is lost around the edges. To compensate for this, and to make sure that the whole PC display area is visible on the TV, most TV out chips are programmed to uderscan the image, with a black border all round. The TV out chips usually can expand the picture to "full screen" or "overscan" mode, but the standard drivers might not give you the option.
    Have a look at  tvtool  It's a very useful utility, although it might not work on your hardware (and is nVidia only).
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Video capture max resolution 1024x768?

    Hi,
    I have a Geforce3 MX460-VTP card, and in the box it says that the video capture resolution can go up to 1024x768, but when I try to capture, tha max resolution with all of the softwares I used is 720x480.
    Does the card not deliver what it promisses, or do I have some sort of driver problem?
    Althogh I think this is a common problem, I could not find anything similar on the forum archives.
    Thanks.

  • Max resolution 1024x768?

    Hello,
    I have a LenovoThinkPad T61 (14.1" model), and the maximum resoltion seems to be only 1024x768. Is there any way I can upgrade this by installing new drivers or something?
    I seem to be using Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile, if this helps.

    What's your model number? It's in the form of 2888-JBN and you can find it on a sticker under your computer. A lot of the 14.1" 4:3 screen models of T61 came with 1024x768 (XGA)-resolution

    for a first time a meet something like this.
    notebook worked ok for 1,5year and since couple of weeks I struggle with something strange,
    Only one resolution which is possible to set - 1024x768, tried new drivers, monitor is recognized as flatpanel 1024x768, tried to change to plug&play monitor, tried to unistall monitor device, uinstall graphics card devices, eventually stepped up to Windows 8.1, updated BIOS, and no result....
    possible hardware malfunction  ? does not looks like...
    any idea ?

  • Screen only capable of default resolution 1024x768, generic screen model

    After installing a Windows Update for the Macedonian euro symbol and rebooting (coincidence I assume as I have done a system restore to undo it) my G72 laptop sees the screen as a generic PnP model and can only use a resolution of 1024x768 or less which is then stretched sideways as this is a widescreen screen.
    I have updated drivers, downloaded the HP drivers and installed them, but no change.
    Running Win 8.1 64bit.
    Any ideas?
    THanks

    HI @cirrushp
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    It is a fantastic  place to find answers and suggestions!
    For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
    I grasp that you did a  MIcrosoft system restore  and now you can only use resolution of of 1024x768  which is less than before.  You have updated the HP drivers it is still only but the display is being seen as a generic PnP model .
    Have you tried using the Windows troubleshooter to overcome this difficulty.
    If you have downloaded the graphic drivers try this,
    Go to Device Manage
    Right click on the Display adapter and delete the existing driver
    Now browse and select the downloaded driver from HP and reinstall.
    Have you tried running the Windows troubleshooter ?
    As this is Windows 8 you could also try the refresh option.
    Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8)
    Next you could try installing the original drivers using the Recovery Manager.
    Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8
    The last suggestion other then contacting HP support for assistance is to do a full recovery back to factory.
    Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8)
    During the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files to prevent data loss.  If you have not already done one now would be a good time.

  • Mini-DV to S-video out resolutions

    I read a number of posts here about monitor/TV screen resolution conflicts, but I want to make sure I have this straight...
    When I connect my 24" iMac to a standard 4:3 TV with Apple's mini-DV to S-video adapter, the monitor resolution reduces from 1920x1200 to match the TV screen's lower res, with a large black border covering much of the monitor.
    This is OK if I'm just showing a QT movie, but I want to see After Effects footage on the TV as I work on it. And I need to work on the footage full-screen on the iMac.
    Any way around this problem using the $20 adapter? If not, is there a 3rd-party solultion?
    Thanks,
    Andy
    2.33 GHz Intel iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Thanks namke, had no idea that rectangular pixels were employed to achieve widescreen on a TV - you learn something new everyday!
    I wondered what other MacBook users get when they plug in the mini dvi to s-video adpater because 16:9 resolution is an option when a DVI adapter is plugged into my Mac mini (e.g. 1024 x 576), but not my MacBook.

  • New iPod TV out resolution

    Do the new iPods output video at the newly supported 640x480 resolution or do they output the scaled version of the video that they display on their own screens?
    Same question for the old 5G iPods with the updated firmware.
    Thanks.

    All G5 Ipods with the 2.1 patch can play both 640 X 480 and 320 X 240 resolution files.
    Itunes upgraded the quality from 320 X 240 to 640 X 280 on all video avaliable on Itunes past and present.
    The Ipod will only play at 320 X 240 on its screen because that is the screen used in it's design.
    The ipod's video will play on your computer and TV at the new 640 X 480 resolution as long as the original file was purchased at that resolution after Sept 12.
    Hope that helps.

  • Resolution of 1024x768 and more for your netbook!

    I saw many posts on this forum asking if people could use 1024x768 as many games require it, and programs too.
    Searching the net, I found a program that let you use every resolution you want (many options avaliable)
    It's called AsTray.
    PS: The graphics aren't perfect in the 1024x768, but it's the best you can find (I guess)

  • Xorg and framebuffer issues with high resolutions

    So I got a nice shiny new 23" 1080p Asus VH236H monitor. Unfortunately, it's not turning out to be as great I was hoping, possibly due to the Geforce FX5200 bios, but I'm not sure. I think these issues are probably related, so I put them in the same thread.
    First, the console: vesafb, uvesafb, and nvidiafb all fail at delivering a useable framebuffer greater than 1280x1024. vesafb flat out denies anything beyond 795 (0x31B). uvesafb and nvidiafb will fall back on 1280x1024@75Hz, which causes text to flash all over the screen and requires a reboot to remedy. It doesn't matter if I feed fbset the exact timings X uses, they'll still fallback on 1280x1024. `hwinfo --vbe` has this to say about hardware support:

    Supposedly, the framebuffer should be able to support 1400x1050, but I can't get it, possibly because it's not listed as monitor supported. Does this mean that I'm stuck with a 1280x1024 max res?
    This brings me to my next problem... Xorg. On my old monitor, I liked the nvidiafb-fbdev driver combination because I could quickly switch between X and console, and so long as I had the proprietary nvidia gl libraries installed, X ran smoothly. (never got the nv driver fbdev option to function with stability) Obviously, this is impossible now. I can't get nv to run at a resolution greater than 1280x1024. With the proprietary drivers, max resolution is 1440x900; however, if I disable max pixel clock checking, support for 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 is added.
    Now, this is where things get serious. If I switch back to console after starting X with NoMaxPClkCheck, I get an out of range message from my monitor. I can freely restart/switch back to X and everything is fine there, but the console is unuseable until reboot.

    Brett,
    When working with the file that has many vector points. Try working in Outline mode if you can and if it works for you. Keep in mind with all the complex vectors the screen has to redraw which is taking up application memory when you move or update the object/drawing. If you can try resize the graphic to a smaller size to work with it then enlarge it back to normal size when you are ready for the final version of the file.
    It may help.
    Thanks
    Scott

  • Can VGA transmit high-def resolution?

    I'm planning on buying the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter to connect my macbook to my Samsung HDTV (LN-S4095D). The TV supports resolutions up to 1920x1080 through its VGA input. However, after reading up a little on VGA cables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Video_Standards.svg), I found that the max resolution supported by VGA is 640x480.
    Now I'm confused. Can high-def resolution (1024x768 & 1920x1080) be transmitted over a VGA cable? Or, is there a particular type of VGA cable that I should buy? SVGA, XGA, UXGA?
    If you can suggest a specific cable (preferably 15 ft.), I'd greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, simply shedding some light on this situation will certainly help me out.
    Macbook, 2.0 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Interesting point you bring up with ghosting on a 15' VGA cable. Now I have a follow up question. Everyone seems to urge using the MiniDVI to DVI adapter. However, my samsung hdtv doesn't have a DVI input. Rather, it has an HDMI input.
    I've been reading through some Apple forums as well as some AVS forums, and there seems to be some mixed response when it comes to using the MiniDVI-DVI adapter with a DVI to HDMI cable. I've read stories about the top of the menu bar and bottom of the dock being cut off when putting a macbook display on a widescreen HDTV through HDMI.
    I originally thought I'd buy a VGA adapter & VGA cable simply because the Samsung TV itself can adjust the monitor resolution of the VGA input whereas the HDMI inputs are locked in at either 720p, 1080i, or 1080p.
    Does anyone knows the definitive answer as to whether a Macbook can successfully be displayed on a widescreen HDTV through HDMI (via the MiniDVI-DVI adapter)? Please let me know. Thanks!

  • VGA out: block KDE handling?

    I have always had trouble disconnecting from VGA and have often had to hard shutdown.
    However, until last week VGA connecting almost always worked flawlessly. KDE recognised the addition of the screen and asked to configure it. Usually, it asked if I wanted to configure it twice but, still, it asked and it configured. I could unify or not unify outputs, get the right resolution out etc. etc. Usually it all "just worked" (until I needed to disconnect - then all hell broke loose).
    Last week, it stopped working flawlessly. At the time, I assumed it was because I was in the middle of a job interview (which I didn't get though probably not because of the IT failures). If I unified outputs, I got no signal out to VGA. In the end I didn't unify them and rather awkwardly tried to switch slides and demonstrate software while looking over my shoulder at the screen.
    Today, it failed me in class so it isn't just the sod's law effect. If I unified outputs, no VGA out. I also couldn't somehow get the resolution quite right so the very top of my presentation was cut off and the text was a little fuzzy. (It was readable but not very nice looking.) I'd set the VGA out to 1024x768 with Auto refresh which are the settings I've used before with this projector.
    I'm wondering. Is there some way of just stopping KDE from handling this stuff and maybe trying to do it with just xrandr from the command line? (And maybe ultimately a udev script if I ever get it working and figure out what udev is all about - currently on my learning list.)
    Or would that just be a very bad idea? I just thought it might be easier to figure out what is going on and there is clearly something rather weird about KDE's settings since it seems to always ask about everything twice.

    I discovered that if I stop the kdm daemon rather than restarting it, it still restarts and I can get back to normal. This is the first time I've managed to not have to reboot the machine.
    I'd still like to know if there's a way to stop KDE handling this stuff & if that might help. This and the mic are driving me nuts!

  • Print a graph when used different resolutions

    Hello,
    my LV programm
    (using V8.5.1) must run on computers with different resolutions (1024x768,
    1280x1024...), so I used the option
    "new scaling of all frontpanel elements after changing the windows size" (free translating   )
    (German: "Alle Elemente des Frontpanels bei Änderung der Fenstergröße neu skalieren")
    in my VI.
    This works fine but now I have some trouble with the printout of a graph.
    Depending of the selected resolution of the computer, the graph will be printed complete or only partial, then the lower part of the graph is missing.
    To print out the graph I used the VI  "Append Control Image to Report.vi"
    Can anybody help me?
    Gruß
    jan91

    Hello Jan,
     you are right - when printing the report in landscape orientation, images will be cropped if higher than the paper size.This issue has already been reported to our LabVIEW R&D team (#36511) and should be solved in a forthcoming update of the report generation toolkit. In my opinion, the issue is linked to the problem that the image will not fill out the report page completely to the right margin (#36926), another nuisance you might also have encountered.
    I have created a workaround for the problem,  which you should find attached to this post. As you change the graphs background color for printing, I added another property to resize the graph to the maximum printable size (evaluated here in trial&error, depending on your printer, the maximum size might change a bit), and another one to restore the original size when the report is done. To reduce the "blink time" of the graph, I placed the restoring property node directly after the control image has been attached to the report, so that during printer initialization, the original layout is already visible again.
    Hopefully, this is acceptable for you, until these issues have been fixed.
    Best regards,
    Sebastian
