TV Picture repeating/pausing

In the last few days I noticed my picture repeats the last second or pauses for a second. I also noticed when it happens, the channel appears on the box as if it was just changed. It's happening increasingly more often. Anyone know what the issue is? Kind of annoying how much we all pay verizon and you can't even get though a show.

What model STB do you have?
If it is Quantum, reset the VMS.
That should help clear it up.

Three dimensional array causing repeating pause in movie

I'm creating what is essentially a 3 dimensional array. It's
an array of objects, and each of those objects (a map) contains a
few properties, one of which is a two dimensional array of tile
objects. The strange thing is that the act of pusing each of these
map objects on the array causes my movie to run with a periodic
(about once a second) pause. The more map objects are pushed onto
the array, the longer the pause. In between the pause, the movie
runs at what seems like normal speed.
Does this sound normal? I can see the movie slowing down
while building the 3 dimensional array, but once the array is built
(and i've verified that it builds corrently- no endless loops or
anything), even if I do absolutely NOTHING wtih it I still get the
pause for as long as my movie runs...
that's the part that really seems strange to me- the
repeating pause is directly related to my pushing of the map
objects onto an array... Even if I build all the map objects and
don't push them onto an array, the movie plays fine...
Any ideas or help would be appreciated. For anyone who is

anyone? I don't need a direct solution... if anything the
biggest problem I'd like to understand is that if all my objects
are already created (i.e. already stored in memory), and my array
is already created- how can simply pushing the objects onto the
array cause a recurring pause/performance hit- even if I don't use
the objects (including the array) at all (? All the memory is
allocated already- all i'm doing is pushing a reference to the
object onto the array, right? If anything I would think there could
be a performance hit WHILE pushing objects onto the array, but what
the heck is creating the pause/performance issue the rest of the
time?
I would really appreciate any help, I don't know any flash
experts in person, and I've been racking my brain on this
one!

Same picture repeated while printing onto a network printer

I have created a newsletter, and when I print it to my black and white printer (connected directly to my computer), then everything prints out just fine. When I try and print the same letter onto a color network printer, then the pictures get distorted, misplaced, same picture is repeated throughout the page (even though on the screen everything looks different, just like it is supposed to be), and I am getting frustrated trying to fix it. Any suggestions?

I think I'm having a similar problem.
Pictures that I place in a flyer look fine on screen and in print preview. But when I print to my HP connected directly to the iMac, some pictures disappear and are replaced with the same picture used elsewhere in the document.
Sometime saving to PDF works, but then some effects (borders and dropshadows) are lost.
This happens with documents created both from templates and a blank page. It usually takes several attempts by replacing the pictures, selecting and changing the layer (move front, move back, etc) for each picture, before finally prints correctly.
My driver is an old one, I'll update and see if that fixes the problem.

BUG: repeated pause/play causes malformed audio name track name

I was listening to a language audio track. Therefore I was pausing and playing it repeatedly while I said out loud what they said on the track. I found the track listing and the now playing area started changing ever time I did this pause/play sequence.
The track called "12 12-Topic 11", started having a new 12 prepended to it, i.e.
"12 12-Topic 11"
"12 12 12-Topic 11"
"12 12 12 12-Topic 11"
etc

I recently encountered exactly this bug *while importing WAV files I had created from a vinyl record* (using Final Vinyl).
Having dragged the files into iTunes from a Finder folder, I then went through each 'Get Info' menu to insert the track number (ie: 'N of M'). The spurious numbers then started appearing in front of the track name in the Title field spontaneously as I moved from one track to another.
There did not seem to be any pattern - some number appeared as soon as I had closed the 'Get Info' menu and moved on to other tracks; other appeared later; some never did - ie the track names were left alone.
I deleted the numbers from the track names manually, in the iTunes list display, and the problem seems to have gone away - but I'm not sure - I will reload that iTune library (from our family NAS) tonight, and check again.
I had never seen this problem before I upgraded to iTune 9 - despite having followed this process before in iTunes 7/8.
Incidentally, in answer to one of the comments above about Gracenotes; I have frequently imported WAV files from CDs, previously recorded from vinyl on an old Windows laptop (with no track names), and Gracenotes has correctly supplied the album and track names - presumably from the number and durations of the tracks in the album. In the case of this live album, I started with 4x20min WAV files - each one, a whole side of a vinyl record - before chopping it up into 23 tracks using Final Vinyl. When these were initially imported into iTunes, Gracenotes incorrectly identified it as some old YES prog-rock album I'd never heard of!

Same Picture Repeating in iMovie

I'm having issues making a slide show in the newest version of iMovie... I can import photos and put it to music but for some reason one photo keeps showing up instead of others...this happens with about 20 of the pictures I have...the slide show has a total of about 153 but this one picture replaces about 20-25 of them. I've tried selecting the individual picture and taking it out or selecting another one to replace but it shows the same picture over and over. Any ideas?

One thing I have read that worked at least for one other person on the Discussion Group was to go to iPhoto and find that misbehaving picture. First, quit iMoive. Open iPhoto, and see if you can find that misbehaving photograph. Then make a minor edit to it in iPhoto (change the exposure slightly for instance) and re-save it back into iPhoto. Quit iPhoto and re-open iMovie.
I realize you already took that one picture out, but try putting it back in now that it's been edited and see if reacts differently.

Repeated Pause and Resume Session in Sun MQ Logs

We are occasionally seeing these below log statements in the Sun MQ log file beineg generated at a very rapid rate. We are running in DEBUG mode (imq.log.level = DEBUG). Any idea what may cause these logs to be generated? I suspect that some JMS client is misbehaving, possibly in a loop, but I dont have any means to identify the JMS client that could have possibly triggered this.
We are using Sun MQ 4.4U1

It's possible the client is either doing Session.recover() or rolling back transactions which would incur those debug logging.

Why does my iPod repeatedly pause during a song?

My sister's 3rd generation iPod nano keeps pausing while she's listening to a song without her pushing any buttons or anything. I've had an iPod for a while and I've tried everything I know to do, which isn't much (all I really did was reset it a few times). She had a problem with this iPod before where she couldn't get the headphones to go in the hole, so she kind of jammed it in. We took it to the apple store but they said it was fine, I don't know if any of that could be related? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Exporting document from Pages to PDF repeats the same picture throughout the document

I am creating a 4-page newsletter in Pages, and the final page has a series of jpeg photos (six of them) dragged from iPhoto onto the document. The photos are then given a Picture Frame and a shadow. I then save the document and choose FILE - EXPORT, choose PDF with an image quality of "Good". On the resulting PDF file, the first of the six jpeg images repeat in the locations where the other 5 should be. So I get a page with the same picture repeated 5 times.
Any suggestions?
I have tried changing the image quality to "better" and it exhibits the problem there as well. Note that it works fine if I choose File-Print and then save a PDF, but that results in a 65mb or larger file, and I need it to be as small as possible to email.

Do the images have the same name? if so change the names before adding them to your Pages document.

Word 2013 VBA to format a picture with tight text wrapping

I use a recorded macro to occasionally insert a small picture repeatedly at random places. Here is the code I use:

I have not been able to have the macro select the picture and specify the word wrap format as "tight". The "selection.moveleft ..." was my recorded attempt at selecting the picture. That selected the picture, but the recorded attempt
to click on the little format icon and then select "tight" did not work because as soon as I click the format icon, the picture is de-selected. I would appreciate any help (Paul?)

Thank you very much, Paul. I wish it were easier to use help or other resources to handle simple questions like this in working with VBA. Or is there an easy help system that I've overlooked? I try the F1 key on error messages and that does lead me to a
solution, but not very often. And I never have comprehended or even seen a good presentation on this "object - properties - method, etc" structure. Perhaps if i had a better understanding of that then finding answers on my own would be easier. Any suggestions?

How to go about removing repeated photos????

in my iphoto i have the same pictures repeated two times. can some one help me remove the repeated pictures with out having to go in and doing it one by one

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you're seeing these duplicate file names in the Finder then they are not duplicates. For every photo in the library there will be two files, one in the Data folder (the thumbnail you see in iPhoto) and the imported file in the Originals folder. These are normal and are not duplicates. For duplicates you see while viewing in the open iPhoto use Terence's suggestion.

Multiple picture in picture images

Hi,
I am having problems adding a "picture in picture" text graphic to a background loop. The first insert seems to work fine. However any other inserts after the 1st insert do not work. When it gets to the preceeding "picture in picture" inserts, the loop freezes for the duration of the insert and does not display the text graphic i have inserted.
Does this happen to anyone else and is there a way to fix it?

iMovie is a very simple tool - So as standard You only can only add one more picture.
But You can work around this by
• Insert one picture in Picture
• Export out this sequence as a full quality QuickTime movie
• Import this and put it into a new project - then add next picture
• repeat till satisfied
More elaborate way is to do this in QuickTime Pro
Easiest way is to use a Video editor that handles lot's of video tracks eg FinalCut and here add up to 98 photos on individual tracks on-top of the video track.

Image Limit in Picture Frame iOS 6?

I have a rather large image folder (a few thousand images) that I use for Picture Frame on my iPad 2. Since upgrading to iOS6 I noticed that Picture Frame was only displaying a couple dozen pictures repeatedly, something that was not a problem previously. Is there now an upper limit on the number of pictures that can be displayed from an image folder? (I noticed the same issue with the photo screen saver in Lion.)
I also tried breaking the folder into sub-folders of a thousand or less pictures, and choosing them all in Picture Frame settings for shuffle. That seems to display more images, but only seems to choose from one folder at a time.
I realize that this isn't exactly a critical issue, but such a seemingly arbitrary limitation is aggrivating, and I am curious as to whether anyone else has even noticed the problem, or has a good solution.

For what it is worth, I've encountered exactly the same problem. It seems to only want to select pictures from one folder, no matter how much I fiddle with the settings. The same photo set works fine in iOS 5.

Repeating Photos in Slideshow

I am trying to make a slideshow in iPhoto '08 which is quite short, about 8 slides. I want to have a background track which is of course much longer than it takes to show the 8 slides. If I view the slideshow in iPhoto it works fine, the pictures repeat while the song keeps going. If I export it though, the song stops at the end of the slides. Is there a way to export the slide show so that it repeats for the full length of the song?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not with iPhoto. What you'll have to do is duplicate each slide as many times as you need to get the music to play for the entire track. Or useiMovie HD 6, it's still available for iLife 08 users, and copy and paste each photo in the timeline to be used multiple times.
iMovie will give you more control like setting the play time for each slide to what you want and then select all 8 pyhoto and copy and paste theme until they reach the end of the audio track that you added after adding the original 8 photos. Add transitions and any other enhancements and export.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Awkward Pauses

I recently upgraded to iTunes 9 & Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I've noticed some disturbing behavior while watching podcasts in iTunes. Randomly there with be a system wide pause, not sure if this is an iTunes issue or a Snow Leopard issue, I've just noticed it more when watching podcasts.
The podcast is local, not on an external drive, and is being played back at 200%. The video will pause, the cursor spins, eventually all Apple Core Apps pause and when its finally over, the video has jumped in time as if it were playing the entire time. This is annoying because I then have to drag to rewind to watch the segment over again. I've noticed that if a segment pauses, its highly susceptible to repeat pausing when I replay it.
I noticed this issue on my PC, but attributed it to the fact that my PC's iTunes library resides on the backup partition of my TimeMachine.
Its rather frustrating and is slowing down my work flow as I have to wait for the pause to resolve before I can continue work.

I've just finished this game and I really like what is is trying to do. The lore is fantastic it could really blossom into and excellent series with a bit of a shaky start if they're allowed to give it another try. The big thing I'd like to be changed and maybe added to the current game via a patch is the listening to tapes on the move similar to the way in which Kilzone Shadow fall did it using the controllers speaker. I'd also like the sequel to kick straight on with what's next for Galahad AND ABSOLUTELY NOT A PREQUEL! I do hope they get another shot at polishing up what could be once of PlayStations stand out franchieses.
