TV reception on the N95.

Good Day.
Is it possible to hookup the phone to an LCD screen or a TV screen and see TV (not just video, but TV)?
Tnx.

If you can watch videos you shot using your camera on your tv, then I would assume you can watch streaming movies from your provider.
I assume you are talking about something like what Telstra (Australia) are advertising which is Foxtel?

  • Is there a facility to put a GPS aerial on the N95...

I got the N95 really in order to have a neat GPS/OS map system for hill walking and a phone in one and have just been trying my N95 with some OS 1:25000 and 1:50000 maps from Viewranger (excellent mapping product, excellent service). Walking about with the phone open in your hand to maintain GPS reception is a pain - I wonder if there is the facility to have a simple wire GPS aerial like a headphone wire for FM reception so the phone could be in your pocket (except when you wanted to check the map) and the wire outside? Bluetooth would drain the battery too much, especially if GPS was running. One other option would be a case like an IPOD case that runners use, strapped to your arm to leave your hands free - perhaps those are available - anyone know the answer to these two questions?
Idea for Nokia - how about making the maps downloadable by country - for example Europe is a whopping 1.4GB and took me more than an hour to download, fortunately to my PC. To be able to download just single or multiple countries would be great.

I use mine all the time The battery outlasts the N95 battery and can charge via a USB cable mains 250v ac or 12 v dc all supplied with mine
and it lets 2 devices to connect IE have have the N95 connect to carkit via bluetooth but it also connects to Holux so I get navigation on the car ice
Does this GPS receiver work with Nokia Maps? If it does, how do you get the phone to use it instead of its internal GPS receiver?

  • Horrible reception in the house and spotty reception outside?!

Our wireless reception is horrible in the house. We cannot hold calls at all. We typically have to dash outside to take/make a call. Even then, the outside reception in the yard tends to be spotty. We have to walk around and watch for bars. We noticed a problem when we moved into the house almost 2 years ago but it seems to be worse now. We have also noticed over the past several months that our phones switch over to 3G when we are on one end of the house. They did not do that in the past so I don't understand what the problem is. It is eating up our data. We do not have a land line and rely on our cells for work purposes. The lack of coverage is a huge frustration that we would like to see resolved. We live in the 23061 area. Please help!

    Hello Sir,
I apologize for not responding to your email in a timely manner.I read it, told myself I'd reply later and then promptly forgot. We noticed when we moved into the home in November of 2011 that the reception was not as strong as it was in our previous house. It was possible to answer and make calls at some places throughout the house while other spots would drop the call almost immediately or communication would fail with the person on the other end hearing what we said but us not being able to hear them. We would hang up and try again at another spot in the house.
For the last year, at least, we have noticed that there are now only a couple places in the house that will hold the call for any time at all now. In those couple of places, it is almost impossible to finish a conversation without the line going dead on our end. We then are forced to step out onto the front porch or the back deck to place/answer a call (which is such a pain in the rain and the cold!). This is still not a perfect solution because certain places in these locations also have poor reception and the call will drop. I go outside, watch for the bars to be favorable, place the call or answer and stand as still as possible in hopes that the call won't drop. As you would probably imagine, this is very irritating for us as this is our work and home contact for the entire family.
Any way you could help us would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Holly

  • Transportation cost before the reception of the material in MIGO (Stock in transit)

Does it exist a way to make a reception of materials in transit and post the transportation cost before the reception of the material in MIGO ?
The  material is own of company before to be receipt in plant.  We need to pay the transportation before that material is arrived at plant.
As the value is an important cost, we need that this cost be linked with the cost of the material.  We can put a condition, but it does not work if the material in not receipt in MIGO.  We can enter a subsequent debit memo, but the invoice of the reception should be enter in the system and by the way the reception too.  So how should we process to link the transportation cost with the material if this material is not received at plant and by the way in MIGO.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
As of my knowledge, system will allow to process the shipment document - create shipment cost document and vendor invoice also, even before doing GR for the PO. Please check the scenario and revert back if you are getting any error.
If you want the shipment cost as delivery cost, refer the note: 427944 - Info: Shipment costs as delivery costs during goods receipt

Such a sensor has already been in earlier models (the first one was the N90, I think, but also in N93, N93i). So, having it in the N95 isn't that surprising.
And as pfboven hints, turn on the camera, watch the viewfinder image, and rotate the phone and you'll see why it is there.
    You are a complete genious!
Anyway, i turned the phone while on camera and i can understand that it has a sensor for that.
But will there be a software for other phones like the 6120c and n95 n9i etc to make use of the sensor?

i dont have a solution, but i have a path for you to follow. this is not a simple fix, but rather a place to look for ways to fix it. it is similar in nature to modifying an iSync plugin in order to make iSync work (back before nokia did this for you)
    1. right-click (or ctrl-click) the Nokia Multimedia Transfer.app package (the application icon itself)
    2. choose 'Show Contents'
    3. Contents->Resources->Profiles
    4. open up the file n95.profile in 'Property List Editor'
note: i think this came with the developer tools? i'm sure you can find it somewhere, it's an apple app
in my version of this file i see Root->profiles->0->profileName = n95_v1
in your shoes i'd try modifying this file. you likely can create an copy of Root->profiles->0 and call it Root->profiles->1
then just change the version to n95_v2 or v3 or whatever.
you may have to change more in this file, or more files. i dont have an n95_v2 or v3 to play with.
do this and succeed, and you'll have made quite a few ppl happy, including yourself
    good luck and happy hacking!
    N95-1 ---> N97-NAM ---> N900 ---> E7-00 + N900 (I use them both)
(N95 was pretty good, N97 had potential but utterly failed to deliver, N900 is absurdly good. Those of you wondering, "should I try N900/Maemo/MeeGo"? The answer is a resounding YES)

  • JUST TOO LESS OF RAM ON THE N95

I have always been a Nokia fan for many years and have always recommended Nokia phones to all my friends. I however bought the N95 and am terribly dissapointed to find that the RAM is totally totally inadequate and one just cannot enjoy the phone due to this humongus impediment as it will refuse to run multiple programmes effectively and crash at the slightest load of more than two softwares running together.
I implore you to immediately rectify this flaw or else you will lose the loyalty of your most loyal customers and lose sales rapidly as such a high end phone will only be bought by people who would definately like to enjoy their installed softwares and would be totally frustrated if the system crashed time and again due to totally inadequate memory on a so called "Smart Phone" which apparently is not that smart at all.

  • No "Shrink" option for photos in the N95-8BG !!!

I was shocked when I wanted to shrink one of my photos to send it via MMS, and found out that it is not in the options!!
This option was in N73 & N95, but not in the N95-8GB.
I think it is an essential feature when sending photos via MMS.
I already e-mailed NOKIA for this issue, and they sayed they will look into it.
It will be GREAT if more people e-mail NOKIA with this regard to have them take this issue more seriously.
    Regards to all,

Hi Extrastyle, there are two solutions for your problem:
    1) "Messaging" - "Options" - "Settings" - "Multimedia message" - "Image size" set to "Small" will shrink all photos before sending them.
    2) View the photo in "Gallery" then "Options" - "Edit" - "Options" - "Apply effect" - "Resize".Message Edited by gordonshowers on 25-Nov-200706:37 PM

  • Does updating the N95 software erase installed cus...

I need to install the new N95 system software. I am concerned that by so doing the process will remove some application software that I have already installed (such as for email).
    Will this happen?
If I backup the phone's memory onto the external memory (or into the computer) and then do a restore after updating the phone's firmware, will this preclude my having to re-install the software that I now have in the N95?
    Thanks

All I can say is that I prefer the built-in ASR.
Well I don't think any of us like not having automatic screen rotation. Although I'd rather if there was an option to change the way the screen rotates. For example, the screen splashes like water or something that's more interesting than a boring "blink".
That's right people, I'm back. Where have I been? I have been getting a life, away from this electric madness.

    Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to backup the firmware of the N95. The reason is that I have an operator modified firmware that I would like the option of going back to should I experience problems with any new software.
    Thanks

Nope, there's no going back and no legal way to backup a phone's firmware.
