TV Remote Activating iPod

A new problem...apparently, my TV remote turns on my iPod when I turn on the TV and when I turn it off. I have the iPod setting in an Alec Lansing speaker system near the TV. The iPod turns itself off after awhile, but it drains the battery - I wondered why I kept having to charge it And, of course, the speaker system does not charge this iPod. Anyone know what is going on here or have suggestions for a fix other than moving the iPod and speaker into another room - big inconvenience.

I certainly would have thought that was the case, but the speaker system itself does not turn on - just the iPod.

If you mean using the remote app for controlling itunes with your touch using only bluetooth, as others have said, that's a no. This might be an ignorant suggestion, but someone who knows more about it can maybe post after me. If you're connecting your macbook to the internet with an ethernet cable rather than a wifi router, can you set up a macbook as a wifi connection spot so that your ipod is connecting directly to the macbook via wifi? I would imagine you could use the remote app then.
I also sort of thought you were asking if there was a way to control your ipod touch using a remote via bluetooth, and that's also a no, but you can use a remote with a dock connector.

Remote activation in different Clients of R/3 system

I am trying to do CubeServ BW case study from SAP Business Intelligence book. I am logged in BW system and the exercise requires transfer of Data Source Object from BI Content. When I try this step I am prompted with "Remote activation in the Source System E61CLNT050" message followed by login window. I have access to Client51 of R/3 system. But when I check for available source systems, E61CLNT051 and E61CLNT052 are available but there is no E61CLNT051. So I am stuck at this step.
Is there a way to add or (switch to ) E61CLNT051 and continue with other steps?

Hi Dili,
This is due to Source System Configuration done in TCodes SALE and SM59. You also have to note that while defining the systems, they should be defined as Trusted System so that the User Authentication screen doesnt come up.

Business Content Installation with Remote Activation

During Business Content Installation, BI system attempts to do Remote Activation in the Source System
But in my case, it's searching for the datasources in the ERP source system instead of the CRM system
How do I get the Business Content to look into the right CRM system
Also, do I have to manually build the transfer rules of InfoSource to DataSource ? At the moment, I don`t have InfoSource automatically mapped to DataSource

Hi, before collecting the datasource to the right you have to select the source system by one of the following ways:
1) press Shift F7
2) click on the source system icon on top
3) goto menu Edit->Source system assignment
About your secod question check if the BI content already has a mapping defined if not you have to manually create the mapping.

BI Content Remote Activation of Datasource - Transports

During the process of installing BI content in the Dev BW Environment, I am promted to login to the source system (CRM DEV in this case) so that the BI content datasources can be activated and replicated remotely. This process works fine.
The question I have is the following.
When I tranpsort all the BW BI content objects from our DEV BW environment to the BW QA environemt, do I still need to collect the activated datasources in the source system (CRM DEV ) and also transport them to CRM QA ?
Or does the remote activation and replication of the datasources(in the source system-CRM QA) happen automatically when i transport the BW BI content objects from DEV BW to BW QA.

I don't think, the remote activation and replication of the datasources(in the source system-CRM QA) happen automatically BW QA.
In BI 7.0, the general practice is, first u have transport datasources from ECC Dev to ECC QA...Then replicate these datasources in BI QA.
In most of the cases, these replicated datasources becomes inactive in BI QA.
To over come this, after the replication, u should transport Datasources from BI DEV to QA, so that this DS overwrites replicated (inactive) ones from ECC.

Looks like rmid.log is corrupt.
Your server class shouldn't do its own registration. That causes the rmid.log file to grow every time you start it. You should have a separate registration program that you only run once, and serializes the activatable stub to a file, and another program that runs every system startup that reads that file and binds the stub to the registry. That will conserve the size of the rmid.log file and also eliminate most writing to it, which is when corruption can occur.

Removing of remote activation

while i am doing it is giving error Remote data source can not be activated.
In r/3 i am activating this data source by using transaction rsa5.
But still it is giving error.
For that one i have to remove the remote activation in bi system.

1)The remote activation is subject to an authorization check. Authorization object S_RO_BCTRA is checked. System administration must have assigned you the role SAP_RO_BCTRA in order for you to be able to activate the DataSources .This authorization applies to all the DataSources in a source system.
2)For remote activation, the D versions of the DataSources must exist in the BI system. They are replicated when you connect a source system and when you replicate to the BI system for an application component or a source system........

can the iphone 5 be remotely activated so it can be found using the find my iphone app. the phone has been offline since it was lost even though it should have had power. if it can be simply turned on by the service provider or by apple the rest i can do using the app

If you didn't enable the Find My iPhone function, then you can't track the iPhone. But it sounds like you did have it turned on, if you're seeing that it's listed in the Find My iPhone app or on icloud.com. But are you sure it's the same device? If you had a previous iPhone, and the name of both iPhones was the same, it would make it difficult to know which phone was which, even if they both were listed.
In any event, an offline device is not trackable. It could be offline because A) it has no power or B) it is not connected to the internet via cellular data or wi-fi.
Until it comes back online (and it may never), then it cannot be remotely tracked.

Remote for iPod does not work for MENU

I have just bought a 30GB iPod and the A/V connection Kit which includes a Remote. The menu function of the Remote has no effect on the iPod.
One reply to such question stated, quote ... it does not work ... it is meant for the front row software.
In the documentation provided with the A/V connection Kit, there was nothing re the limitation in functionality of the unit.
Could someone pls explain to me what is meant by "front row software" in relation to the iPod ?

i have hooked my ipod to the onkyo stereo with a docking station made for the onkyo system will the remote work with this docking station or do i have to buy something else. thanks bill.

The Apple remote only works with the Apple dock and iMac not 3rd party accessories. To make a movie playlist just make it in iTunes and transfer it to the iPod via auto update or manually. Then, on the iPod, go to Video>Video Playlist and you will see the list that was transferred to the iPod. All movie and video playlist will appear under that section.

SoundDock Remote Controls iPod no longer.

I own a Bose SoundDock 10, with its Remote control.
And I own an iPod Nano Generation 4th.
When the first mated, I could control the volume, start/stop, next/previous song, and next previous/song of the iPod with the Bose SoundDock 10's remote control.
Now, after about 10 months, only the Volume can be controlled via the remote. The start/stop, next/previous song, and next previous/song of the iPod no longer have any effect.
Which is broken? The Bose SoundDock 10, the Remote control, or the iPod nano?
Please help. I don't have two copies of any of these three items, so I can't do a control test.

I also just reset the iPod while docked in the Bose SoundDock 10. No change!
Perhaps the SoundDock itself, or the SoundDock's remote control are broken.

Remote on iPod Touch crashes with Apple TV

I have a 4th Gen iPod Touch that I use just as a remote. Since I updated to the latest version of AppleTV software this week, Apple's Remote app will launch and does connect to the AppleTV (3rd Gen) but it crashes almost immediately after the first action. I have the app on an iPhone 5 as well (although its obviously a later version) and it's stable.
The Remote app version is 3.0.1 (599.20)
iOS version 6.1.6 (10B500)
AppleTV version 6.1.1 (6698.99.19)
There's plenty of space available (3.2GB) and I have tried reinstalling the app from the App Store*, and doing a hard reboot. Before I go through restoring the iPod, does anyone have any advice please?
*I do get the offer of the iOS 6 compatible version.

I think I found the answer: phantom data.
I started to get a message about the iPod being full shortly after posting my question.
In the end, I decided to wipe and restart. With only a few apps and no user data this was not too much of a chore and seems to have fixed the problem.

Itunes remote for ipod touch not working staying on passcode

i download the itunes remote fro the ipod that lets u control itunes from the ipod touch, but the ipod touch stay's on the 4 number passcode u enter on itunes

A friend from work came up with this, but I forgot to ask him how he came across it. I think his Ipad was working then stopped and he didn't change anything and figured out the time was off.
If most people are having a time issue it makes sense that mostly ipod touchs' are affected, since the iphone should sync its time via cellular magic and the touchs' don't do this.
I guess the netflix app is doing some sort of authentication and the time being off causes it issues.
