TV Screen Effect

I want to do an effect, whether I do it directly in Keynote or wherever. I want to insert a picture of an LCD panel and play video on the "screen". So for example, I can take a stock picture of an LCD panel off the Internet. Then I create a shape that fits the "screen" portion of the picture and I can drag an image in there and that works fine. But I wanted to try and place video in there as if it were a media placeholder. So then when I go to play the video on the slide, it is playing on the "screen". Is this possible.

You can do this +(but may need to use another program depending on your picture)+. If you can find a picture of the TV that shows a white screen with no words or graphics, then you can add the picture to Keynote and use the Instant Alpha to remove the white screen. Then place your movie in the screen area and you are set.
If you can not find the screen that always you to use Instant Alpha, you would need to use picture editing software +(such as Photoshop)+ to remove the content of the screen and save a .png or .pdf to keep the transparency.

I am trying to create a screen effect with Photoshop but can't seem to find the right way to do it. The screen I wish to create will be used to cover photos and give the illusion they are seen through screen door or something similar. I assume the effect is created with black dots equally spaced on a transparent background and saved as a PNG image. I can't figure out how to do it and how to make this dot pattern repetitive to fill the hole are of my image (or transparent background).

Thanks to your help I have finally figured out how to do this.
I captured a screen shot of the effect I was trying to duplicate at the address I provided:

After that I opened that screen capture and enlarged it in Photoshop until I could see the individual pixels. The pattern used for that screen is a 3 by 3 pixels square with only the upper left most pixel black while all others are transparent. So I created a pattern just like that: transparent background, 3 pixels by 3 pixels square and painted the upper left one black. After that I saved it as a pattern,
Now when I apply that pattern as an overlay to my images it gives me precisely the same effect on the link. Great ! It gives the images the same effect.

Put a clip on V1, layer another above it on V2 or higher. Add CROP effect to higher track clip, crop left or right side to reveal V1 clip below.

is there a way in lightroom to like erase the background. like selecting a certain color and replace it with another image? like a green screen effect? im asking for lightroom because the computers in the studio where i work uses that only from adobe

Lightroom does not support this type of image editing or anything remotely close to it, and I very much doubt that it ever will. I suggest that you have a look at Photoshop, which is also an Adobe product, and is capable of doing what you describe.

Using 'Screen' effect overtop of a spot color

This forum has been great to me so far and I hope it continues. I have a line drawing that I have set at 100% black (0,0,0,100). I have placed it overtop of a spot color and added the 'Screen' 100% effect to it. Unfortunately when view it in overprint preview and save a pdf print file the effect doesn't show and the entire line drawing dissapears? Looking for answers. Thank you.

As long as it's white I don't think it'll be a problem - but the screen effect probably won't do that much anyway in this case.
Preparing for press printing with spotcolors mixed with other colors needs planning accordingly to ensure good results - and I'm not sure where this one is ending up.
I this case to ensure correct separation, I would just tint the spotcolor until target reached.

Video screen effect

Hi, was wondering if someone could help me pls! I am doing a title sequence for a charity cabaret I was involved in organising, had it filmed and now Im editing it together. Im doing it up like the Saturday Night Live titles (big fan!) I've used footage I have taken from around London of theatres etc. mucked around with them in photoshop freezeframed them taken out the original theatre signs and replaced them with either pictures or strobed video footage. Im doing one of them in Picadilly Circus, bit fiddly, I want to try and mimic the video screen effect that you get. What I mean is the small lines that make up a video screen, so it looks vaguely connected to the picture. I;ve tried some filiters, but none of them look good. Halftone kind of works but its in black and white, I want to keep it in colour. I have tried doing a texture screen but the shapes dont seem to work at all. I hope Ive explained myself well! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Just came up with an idea - take the stripes generator, rotate it, put a compound blur on it and feed that with the image you want to do the line-screen with, then put a threshold on that and voilá!

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running.
The Premiere Elements Mac users do not have Chroma Key, Blue Screen Key, or Green Screen Key. Often the Videomerge is suggested for those users as a workaround. I do not favor Videomerge.
Especially if you are a Premiere Elements Mac user (but also if you are a Premiere Elements Windows user), you might want to take a look at the Difference Matte in the keying choices.

Blue object on green background for green screen effect?

Hi. I am inserting an image into my video and need the background to be invisible. I use the green screen/blue screen feature, but it doesn't work because the picture I am using is of a blue object. A blue object on a green background. The green background disappears but the blue object turns brown. Is there any way I can exclude my blue object from the green screen/blue screen effect? Thank you.

Play with the color-correction tool (red arrows)… maybe you can fix it that way....

Consumer IR device and blue screen effect

i am getting the blue screen effect i can't login to windows then i opened in safe mode and
I just uninstalled the consumer IR device since it was flagged in the device manager. I heard in some forums that if you uninstalled it and reboot, the system will try to reinstall it again. so i checked the device manager and didn't found the consumer IR device. So how can I get it back or install it back? and how to restart windows without blue screen effect help me please.......

In the help manual they list different key options, such as blue and green screens. can not find them under keying for the Mac

There is no Green Screen, Blue Screen, or Chromakey in Premiere Elements Mac (in any version that I know of).
You should have Videomerge which some suggest for this type of effect. I do not.
Please look at the Difference Matte under fx Effects/Keying/

Is there a way to apply all adjustments to a clip when using green screen effects?

I use imovie '11 and I shoot a lot of videos using a green screen. Once I import my videos into imovie, I then place a background image into the project and then I drag the video clip over the background and select green screen. I usually then have to crop the clip so I am centered within the frame, and I also have to adjust the colors manually since sometimes with a greenscreen the colors can be a bit off.
My problem is this, how can I apply all video adjustments that I made to one clip, to all the other clips without having to do each one manually?
Currently when I crop a clip and edit the colors, then I copy it and go to paste adjustments, 'video' and 'video effect' are grayed out, however, it lets me do all the others. Does imovie not let you paste video effects to other clips that are in green screen mode? I tested it with two regular clips that are not in green screen mode and it works fine.

As always there's a trick using copy and paste.
Once you got all the adjust correct on the first clip. Go to Edit > Copy. It's as though you were going to paste it back into the project, only now the trick is to highlight all the clips that also will need these same adjustmust (hold down the Command key, and just click on each one). Then go Edit > Paste Adjustments...>All. That wil apply each of the adjustments to the whole batch of video clips you had highlighted in the previous step.

"24" style split screen effect

First of all a huge thanks to the Apple community, your helpfulness with all things Mac is one more reason I prefer Apple to Windows!
My question: I am pulling in video from an event where several different cameras shot the same thing from different angles. I would like to use a split screen/ picture in picture solution similar to that found in the Fox show "24" the gist of which being I have several clips playing on a black background so that I can show multiple perspectives at one time.
I am no pro at this sort of thing, I don't own any high end video solutions just iMovie. If I must buy some sort of plugin or software it needs to be no more than about $100 and easy to use. If it's more than that I'm going to need to know there's more features (who wants to put down 250 so they can get only one more effect?) The plugin from "Stupendous" software doesn't really fill the need for me, plus it's for older versions of iMovie anyway.
Can anyone offer a solution?

I would mostly consider to use a 'real' editor.. spend 199$ on FinalCutExpress, invest 2 months of studying a book from FCE mastermind (and forum member..) *Tom Wolsky* - and you do like 24 ...

Am trying to get in some splitscreen effects on my current project. Have heard that Ripple tools offer offer such one for free, but am unable to get the link.
Can anyone please help me?
BTW, I also have no clear understanding of splitscreen. Could anyone suggest any online tutorials which cover this subject?

Ripple Training has 12 Free Classic Generators. No split screen in there.
Crumplepop has a free split screen. They ask you to sign up for their newsletter to be able to download it.
