Tv series is still syncing 'watched' episodes

i bought a tv show series and i don't have enough room to put all episodes on iphone. it synced the first 3 unwatched episodes fine. After watching the shows on iphone, i wanted to get the next three epidsoes. So, i went under summary and asked to sync the least recent unwatched episodes and it kept syncing the least recent WATCHED episodes (the ones i just viewed). What i am doing wrong?

One thing that might help.
If itunes is not syncing the episodes as selected, you could set the iphone to manually managed.
This way you can drag and drop to the iphone what you want.
Also, you can delete off the iphone what you want.
It gives you a little more control over what media is on the iphone.
Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.

Hope this helps.

  • Syncing Video podcasts, watched episodes coming up as new?

Hi all, have the new iphone 3g and have one very annoying problem. I've done a search and can't find any solutions. Is this a known problem from apple?
I subscribe to several video podcasts. I watch them on my iphone and then after doing a sync, they show back up on my iphone as unwatched. This is really annoying as when I got to watch some again I have to go through all these episodes I've already watched.
I've tried different settings in the podcast sync settings as "all new" or "3 most recent new" but still the source of the problem seems to be itunes will mark these watched episoded as unwatched.
Can anyone help me? I'm running latest version of Itunes and Iphone firmware.

Anyone know how I can fix this? Its driving me mad!

  • TS1424 I purchased the series "Call the Midwife" and downloaded it to my Windows desktop. Then I tried to sync the episodes to my 1st generation iPad and an error message told me that the video format was incompatable with the my iPad. What to do?

After downloading into my computer, I tried syncing to my iPad but to no avail. The purchased tv series would not sync. So then I tried to download via wifi directly to my iPad and the first two episodes downloaded no problem. The following 6 episodes then said that the video format was not compatible with my iPad and therefore would not download.  What should I do. I don't even know who to ask in Apple nor how to get in touch without paying a fee.

    Hi, jjsylves.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If the media is still located on your computer, I would create a version specifically for the iPad.  To create and iPad version in iTunes 11 select the media that you are wanting to convert.  From there, select the File menu > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV version.  Once the media has been converted, sync the iPad version to the iPad.

  • TV Series - Can not Sync Individual Shows

I purchased The Universe TV Series from the iTunes Store. When I try to Sync it with my iPhone, I can only check the series button marked "The Universe."
I would like to know how to Sync only the episodes that I like and not something that iTunes picks to sync. How do I Sync specific episodes of this series?
    Kevin

It's probably cause you watched the TV show on your computer so it counts the show as watched and it won't sync it. To fix this, right click the TV show in iTunes and click "mark as new" then sync your iPod and it should work. You could also go to the TV show sync settings on your iPod (when hooked up to the computer) and tell it to sync all TV shows instead of unwatched ones.

  • My Apple TV deletes downloaded movies/series before I've watched them. How do I stop this?

My Apple TV sometimes deletes downloaded movies/series before I've watched them. How do I stop the episodes /movies being deleted before I watch them?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Downloads are deleted to make room for something else or when the device is turned off, if you don't want your downloads removing, you need to avoid doing one of the things that will cause this.

  • ITunes syncs ALL episodes of a podcast

I am subscribed to the CarTalk podcast which is a subscription through audible.com For some reason, even though I have it set to only sync the latest 3 episodes, it syncs all of them, taking up a large space.
I've even un-checked the older ones and set the "Only sync checked items" option, and it still syncs ALL of them
What can I do? Or what am I doing wrong?

Chances are that iTunes does not have ALL the old episodes of this show, but you can get whatever it does have by right-clicking on the title of the podcast in your Podcast library and choosing "Update Podcast." After a moment, all old shows that iTunes knows about and which you have not previously dismissed will appear in light gray with "Get" buttons next to them. Just click the "Get All" button above the list.
If you had previously cleared this list but now want another chance to look at it, the only way I think you can see it again is to unsubscribe from the podcast, then resubscribe.
For older shows iTunes doesn't know about, look for them on the producer's website. You may find an archive there. Chances are good that if you download the shows from the producer's own site and drag them to iTunes, the files will have the right information inside them to make them appear in the Podcast library alongside current episodes.

  • I purchased a tv series, but i'm missing episodes

i purchased a tv series on my apple tv. episodes one - four were the correct ones, but now episode 5,7, and 9 are the same. i checked on wikipedia for episode description and they are titled correctly on my apple tv, but are playing episode 9. aka when i click to play episode 5, i'm actually getting episode 9. i checked on the previews on iTunes and i'm pretty sure this is what is happening.
i tried downloading episode 5 to my mac computer through iTunes and i'm still getting the wrong episode. i don't know how to report that there is a problem or fix it. i keep getting directed to apple tv support to call in and pay $35. (my apple tv works fine.)

    Hello lbrumwell,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to report a problem with a purchase. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

  • I have the latest itunes and I've just purchased a season from a series but I cannot the episodes even though they seem to be downloaded. I'm going to the purchased section find the episode and pre play but it only comes up with the 30 sec trailer.

I have the latest itunes and I've just purchased a TV series but I cannot watch the episodes even though they seem to be downloaded. I'm going to the purchased section find the episode and press play but it only comes up with the 30 sec trailer rather than the full trailer.. any suggestions?

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks

  • Watched Episodes don't appear in ATV

Hi, I have selected "automatic sync" in iTunes for my 160GB ATV (most recent firmware). I understand that means all episodes, no matter if watched or not, will be shown on the ATV, but only unwatched will be synced.
However for quite a while now, and also in manual sync mode, watched episodes disappear from my ATV. They will not be shown when selecting the various shows.
I have already reset the ATV twice and resynced all the stuff (which is a pain for 160GB over a 2.4Ghz n-Draft network).
Anyone got a similar problem and a solution?

i do a custom sync so i'm not sure about this... but just by reading the description of auto-sync in iTunes it says..
iTunes automatically chooses the audio and video to sync, *giving priority to newer* items. *Items not synced are available on your Apple TV when iTunes is open*.
this seems to indicate that auto-sync gives priority to newer items not unwatched items and that if you have computer on and not asleep with iTunes open the unsynced items will appear but will be streamed.
the description doesn't seem to match your thinking... again priority is to newer... not watched...

If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

  • I purchased a tv series and downloaded the first episode, when I went to download the next episode a message popped up saying "this computer is already associated with an apple id" and won't let me download the rest of the shows

I purchased a tv series and downloaded the first episode, when I went to download the next episode a message popped up saying "this computer is already associated with an apple id.....You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 41 days" and won't let me download the rest of the shows even though I haven't changed accounts and I'm using the same account I purchased the shows with.

It's been months, so you may not care anymore, but you can't download songs from multiple Apple IDs over a 90 days period.  Sorry, it's not allowed for legal reasons.

  • I bought an IPOD shuffle (1st gen.) at a pawn shop and it is still synced to previos owners itunes acct. and I can put songs on it b/c I don't have their log in info. So how do I clear it out so I can sync it with my itunes acct.?

OK..So I bought an older IPOD shuffle (1st generation) at a pawn shop. I never have had an itunes acct. So I set one up and plugged the IPOD into my laptop. Apparently the previous owners itunes acct. is still synced with it and I cant put any songs on it b/c I do not have their itunes acct. info (log-in). So my question is how do I clear their info( un-sync) out of this IPOD so I can then be able to put it on my acct. Its not letting me restore it to factory settings without their info either. HELP!

iPods (except for iPod touch) are not linked to any iTunes "account."  They are associated with your iTunes library. The account in iTunes is your Apple ID, and that is used to buy and download content from the iTunes Store.  It is not required to use an iPod.
The 1st (and 2nd) gen shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library at a time.  When you connect it, iTunes should prompt you to start using it with your iTunes library, and warn that the shuffle's existing content will be erased.  Have iTunes erase the shuffle, and it will be associated with your iTunes library going forward.  You can then add content to your shuffle.
The need for the previous owner's Apple ID and password should only come up if you are trying to transfer existing content from the shuffle to your iTunes library, AND the previous owner had content purchased from the iTunes Store.  Just cancel out of that step, if iTunes asks.

  • My iPad 2 will no longer Sync with iTunes on my computer.  It tells me to Restore which I don't want to do as I may lose valuable information from my iPad. My wife's iPad 2 and my ipod still Sync OK. How can I overcome this?

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

  • The user acct my apple was connected to no longer works (corrupt).  My Apple TV is still synced to that account and all of my recent purchases are going to that username.  Does anyone know how to get all of the purchased items back and to the new user?

The user profile my appleTV was synced on my computer to no longer works (corrupt).  My Apple TV is still synced to that profile and all of my recent purchases are going to that username.  Does anyone know how to get all of the purchased items back and to the new user (same computer)?  I created a new user on my computer and moved the itunes folder to the desktop but never changed the path to which the apple synced to.  Now I can only see old items I purchased before the user profile went bad.  PLease help!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Changing the library the Apple TV is synced with will delete all synced content from the Apple TV, but it won't delete purchased content.
You should be able to change the library, resync any content you want and transfer your purchases back to the new library.

  • TS1368 I downloaded the latest ITunes update, 10.6 I think. I can still sync my Ipod, but I can no longer access the Itunes Store.  No error message, it just keeps "accessing" but nothing shows up.  I've restarted my computer twice.

I downloaded the latest Itunes update, 10.6 I think. I can still sync my Ipod, but now I can't access the Itunes Store.  There's no error message, it just keeps "accessing" but never completes.  How can I fix this?

Ok... I just tried connecting my iPod directly to a USB port on the computer rather than via the USB hub I was using and everything is fine. Odd, but I'm happy now.
    Thanks,
    Evan
