TV Show in iTunes7

Im recording TV-shows and compressing them in h.264 640x480 and everything works fine. Artwork to.
All mp4
But now, Ive got this one show causing som problems. First of all, when I set it to TV-show (as with the others) it appears in tv-shows all right. But the funny thing is that it stays in the Movie-folder on the harddrive, and is unable to have artwork attached. It uses a frame from the mp4 as artwork.
Even though is in the movie-folder on the HD, it doesnt show up in the movielibrary.
Any Ideas?

I believe the default transfer option for TV Shows is to transfer all unplayed TV Shows. If you've already played them, this may be the reason they are not transferring any longer. Double check the preferences:
1) Connect your iPod to the computer and select it when it appears in iTunes under source (on the left).
2) Click the TV Shows tab
3) Make sure it is set to transfer all TV Shows, not just unplayed ones.
4) Click Apply/Ok

IPod doesn't show up after updating to iTunes7 (windows identifies)

Before I updated iTunes everything went well.
Then I did the update and it seemed a success - Ipod showed up and the program-handling was quite similar to the pre-version.
But after restarting my pc, firstly iTunes took along time to open and secondly my iPod was nowhere. I tried all the suggestions form the problem-solving page (nothing helped).
So I came to the point to unistall all the software conjunctioned to my iPod - especially iTunes -and to reinstall iTunes7 only. And again everything went well - iPod showed up. Then I did a restart and again, my dear iPod was nowhere to find
Is anybody out there who's having the same problem and solved it? I would be deeply grateful!

I've solved my problem!
It's because I connect to my pc via FireWire.
If the iPod is connected (via FireWire) to the pc before windows is loaded (before you power up your system), he won't be recognized by iTunes. But if you first switch on your pc and connect after you loged-on to windows, he will be recognized!
USB should not be a problem, it only occurs with FireWire.

How I got my selfripped TV shows to sync to ipod in iTunes7

I have just got myself a 30GB video iPod, itunes 7 and EyeTV. Everytime EyeTV or any program created ipod video content it would come catogrised as a movie in iTunes and would come up in the movies sync list on the ipod fine. But if I changed the type to "TV Show" then it would not come up in the TV shows list on the ipod. This has been bothering me for the last few days but I finally worked out whats going on.
For some reason, you need to go into the id3 tag and tag an artist name to the tv show! no ideas why you dont need to do this with movies, but you do with tv, it must be a bug. The standard id3 tagging pane is setup for music, and doesnt really work for video, but for some reason, TV content needs the artist tag filled in.

IPhoto08 Events not showing up under the photo tab in iTunes7.4.2

hi, I just bought the ipod touch and would like to sync some of the events I had organized in my iPhoto7.1. However, all my events are not there in my iTunes. The only syncing options i have are 'Last 12 months' and 'Last Import'. How can I have all the individual events display in iTunes so I can choose the ones I want to sync over to my ipod touch. Pls help. Thanks.
And one more thing, is 'lyrics' no longer supported in the touch? I couldn't find a way to access lyrics in ipod touch...

you just have to make an album and it will show in itunes.

Music videos don't show up on iPod

Evere since I've updated to iTunes7 my music videos that I purchased on iTunes don't show up on my iPod. I can see them in iTunes under default Music Videos playlist but somehow they are not in the Movies folder in the Library.
They also don't appear in the Music Videos folder on my iPod.
Any suggestions?

My Ipod just stopped workign today? Went to lsiten to something and it was wiped out - no music on it. So I have restored it and synced back up and uploaded all my music back. All my music playlists now appear as I have tehm in itunes but when I click on a play list nothing is there? I keep getting a nessage on my computer saying i need to domthing to get my ipod to work with windows> I keep pressing yes and then an "auto play" with a flashlight appear and runs for a while and then still nothing? I have updated all windows updates, and have the lates version of itunes?
I am stuck not knowing why it is restoring, uploading (taking for ever) all my songs, showing playlists, but no songs after you go into a playlist?
Anny ideas?

Download Movies from Music Store but will not show up in ITunes Library

I purchased a Movie from the iTunes Music Store. After downloading the movie the movie disappears. It's not in the itunes libaray or anywhere on my hard drive. in your source list, below "LIBRARY", do you have a "Movies" category showing up?
if not, try heading into your general preferences and putting a checkmark next to "Movies" in the "Show" area. there's a screenshot of that tab in this document:

if you can get the Movies category to show up in your sourcelist, do the errant Movies show up in it?

I have Itunes 7 with 5000 songs on Computer #1 Windows XP and I don't update to a later Itunes because I love the way 7 handles showing the library .
I have installed Itunes 10 on another Computer #2 on my home network. just to listen to my music on Computer #1. Computer #2 wont recognixe my library on Computer #1
even though I have set file sharing and set Computer #2 with the Music Folder on COmputer #1.
Is there a way to make this work ?

Home Sharing, which seems to be what you're describing, needs iTunes 9 or later.

Problem with syncing iPod ... Itunes and windows show errors... itunes 7...

hey guys... since I upgraded to itunes7 my ipod (4th gen click wheel) doesnt sync poperly! it all began when I was syncing the ipod and my screen just froze a few secs after connecing the ipod! I had to restart the computer and reset my ipod... from that time had alot of trouble!
first the screen froze immediately when I connected my ipod with the pc and later when i had formatted it with windows several times and resetted it a million times with itunes7, itunes and windows show errors (error (-124) while syncing and everything stops! I've just spent nearly two nights on that and really hope that my ipod didn't break just because of itunes7! to stay in proper english and not get that angry in letters that I am in mind--- please so help me... my ipod is everything and im a music junkey! by the way... itunes itself works perfectly... if i not sync! how peculiar that getting back to itunes6 is impossible...i tried it... does it hav a spec reason, hah!

I tried formatting the ipod with windows! in the end of it windows says that it was not able to format the drive properly. then I click ok, open itunes, restore the ipod, try to sync again and have the problem that after a while the whole thing freezes... no more errors....just from the moment i disconnect the ipod manually from the cable, everything gets back to normal life again! I do not know what to do! do you guys think, my computer is too old or maybe my ipod's broke???
I'm despairing people...never had problems like that until itunes7! I tried as well to close all the other working programs with the task manager... doesn't change it!

After upgrading from itunes6 to itunes7 my videos doesn´t work. Theres no error message, no reaction. all the music play like befor, only my vids (quicktime), all!! the vids doesnt work after updating..i hope, that someone could help me..

hmmmm. let's try checking to see if they will still play in your current version of QuickTime.
in itunes, right-click on one of the videos that is causing the grief, and select "Show in Windows Explorer".
right click the icon of the file in the Explorer window that comes up and select "Open With ...", and try to open it with your QuickTime player. does it play there or do you get funny business with that too?

Unable To Select Markers For Bookmarked AAC Files In iTunes7

Previously if you have used ChapterTool to add index points to an .m4a to make it an .m4b, now iTunes7 considers it an audiobook only and places them under Audiobooks (renaming the file back to an m4a and reimporting places it under Music by the way) will not allow you to see or select those index points anymore. iPods still show the markers during playback. If you burn a playlist containing such a file, it will burn correctly so someone forgot to add that control to the iTunes interface. I hope Apple will fix this.
Gapless playback is going to take a while to iron out for iTunes and iPods so this is still the only true way to have gapless playback with compressed files on an iPod and being able to see and select the markers in the file in iTunes should be a given.

There is no need to start the MDIS (Import server) if you are importing the data manually.you just open the import manager, login into the repository and select type as XML as per your case and select the remote system (it depends on your requirement) and select the port on which your xml files resides.and enter in the import manager then map you data accordingly and you can import into the repository.
when you want to automate the process for importing the data in repository then you will need to Start the import Server. In that case import server automatically pick the file from the ready port folder and also set the property in console as the processing type is Automatic.

Routine error 9006 Forcing me to Reboot to Bring iTunes7 Back Up

I routinely get error 9006 since "upgrading" to iTunes7.
Not only does this stop the downloading process, but, after getting this error I close iTunes and try to bring it back up again -- but it will not come back up without a reboot. And, when I try to shut the computer down for the reboot, there is one program that can't close itself and has to be ended manually. I don't know what this program is since it just shows what look like Chinese letters where the program name would be.
I am using dial-up and thought that was the problem but I see here it isn't limited to dial-up.
This has happened when I am only downloading one TV episode at a time and when I am letting 2 or 3 download at the same time. Since the other downloads continue, I am not losing connection -- except, when this happens once a file has reached processing stage. When it fails then, I think it may be freezing the other downloads (not sure about this).
Am I the only one that has to reboot to bring iTunes7 back up after this error? (The error doesn't shut iTunes down -- I do that manually -- but, after doing so, it won't come back up again without a reboot.)

Re-start the first backup again over the wired ethernet. It would be much faster and more reliable than wireless. Once the first backup is complete, you can then switch to wireless for the hourly backups.

Equalizer button missing from iTunes7

The equalizer button is gone from the bottom right side of the window in iTunes7. While accessible from the View menu, there is no keyboard shortcut to Show Equalizer. Apple should have left the button where it was.

screw the EQ view - if u get it it wont work anyway.....the on/off button is there but it makes no difference whether u activate it or not....
Not in every case. Mine works fine...Having trouble with finding the right keyboard shortcut though.

IPod does not show up when connected to USB port; why?

My grandson has an iPod Shuffle.
Working with iTunes6, I connected the iPod to the USB port becasuse we wanted to get a print-out of the 75 songs there.
It did not show up in iTunes listing; why??
We know the songs are there; they can be played.
The iPod was identified back in February as "Valentino" on a different computer; I wish I had that machine because "Valentino" showed up on it.
BTW, I have now up-graded to iTunes7 but the iPod is not here to try it out.

Ipod nano and itunes7

ok...when i first got my ipod nano (2gig) i was using it on a windows laptop...then we got a new computer (also windows) and i've been having problems ever since.
either the program will run extreeeemely slow when i try to transfer songs, or it will give me an error message saying that either my ipod is corrupted or it can't be updated because the file is closed.
i restored my ipod and downloaded itunes7 but it hasn't helped.
and it worked fine on the laptop...

oh yea, and i forgot to mention - i can't see the ipod in my computer and sometimes it doesnt show up in itunes.

Slow Internet due to iTunes7 update?

I'm having the same problem as everyone else on here. My MacBook, and room mates MacBook Pro, are have VERY slow internect connections to my Airport Express. Both of our computers had blazing fast internet up until we downloaded iTunes7. My girlfriend has a PowerBook G4 15", which she has not updated to iTunes7, and her internet connection is just as fast as it has always been, even sitting next to me on the couch using the same network as our MacBooks.
I haven't seen any other posts mentioning if people have noticed their internet speeds dropping after the iTunes7 update came out. I've also noticed how many people dislike this new iTunes. I personally tried to switch back to v6, but it now my iPod won't connect because of the update that iTunes7 did to it.
The other reason I believe that the new iTunes7 is the culprit to all this slow internet is because when I first started using the new iTunes7 Airtunes, connected to the same Airport Express my network is on, every 20 seconds or so the sound would freeze for about 3 seconds then pop back in. The songs time display in the iTunes window would also freeze (as opposed to keep ticking away while the song is frozen). There has to be some connection to why the internet and iTunes can't keep up since the iTunes7 update.
Please respond with other things you have noticed that happened around the time your internet started running slowly, such as the iTunes7 update, or any other updates... iPod software, Airport Express firmware...
Hopefully Apple, or us, can get this figured out soon.

I haven't found a solution. I tried to downgrade back to iTunes6, first off because I didn't like how iTunes7 organized my movie/tv show directory folders. I reinstalled iTunes6 and it that program worked, but it wouldn't recognize my iPod because of the software update that iTunes7 did to my iPod. I didn't get a chance to check my internet speed while i had iTunes6 running because I hadn't put 2 and 2 together yet. So I went back to go back to 7, so I could use my iPod.
If anyone is able to go back to 6 and there internet is working, please post it here. It might help find a solution to this slow internet problem.
