TV show won't transfer (to iT)

Hello all.
Last week, I purchased a HD TV show on my iPod Touch (2G, 16GB). The SD version finished downloading to the device, and the HD version finished downloading to the computer.
However, for some reason or another, it will not copy the SD version to iTunes, as if it wasn't a purchase. I tried multiple methods of copying (here's a case where a disk mode feature would be very useful), including the "File>Transfer Purchases from '...'s iPod'", but none have proven successful. Can someone explain why it's not doing this?
For the curious, I bought the Family Guy S8 episode Dial Meg for Murder, the newest episode as of this post. I like it as she takes revenge, but some parts aren't so great to see.

This is a fairly big glitch... on top of not being able to purchase an episode on the iPhone at work last week (I got an error), I successfully downloaded an episode this week only to find out it wouldn't work. Usually with music or music videos, iTunes creates the "Purchased on xxxx's iPhone" playlist and transfers the stuff from the iPhone to iTunes.
Oh well, at least your solution worked just fine.

I have a fifth generation (video) iPod and purchased a tv show from the iTunes store. The tv show won't transfer from iTunes to my iPod. My computer is authorized for the iPod. Any suggestions on how to transfer the show?

Ok take it step by step:
1. When you connect iPod to iTunes do you see your video episodes there both under iPod and iTunes???
2. I assume you will see them in iTunes but not in iPod.
Drag one episode and make sure you cab see it there.
3. play it from iTunes (under the iPod
If it plays then th issue is with your iPod setting: It's set to be viewed on TV as external
If it does not Then your iPod needs to be reset.

.mp4 TV shows won't transfer yet Movies will?

Anyone having this problem where by the iTunes settings sees the episodes available to transfer yet won't take them over to the iPod? The weird thing is that when I call said episode a Movie - it still won't transfer! Its in standard Quicktime .mp4 format, so what's it not getting?

Games and podcasts are showing up in my source list but won't transfer

My son just upgraded from an ipod shuffle to a nano 2nd gen. I have downloaded the latest version of itunes. He bought a game and got some podcasts. They show up in the source list but won't transfer to the nano. I have tried restoring the nano but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Make sure to enable podcasts on the iPod nano. When you plug it in pick the iPod nano in the source list and then click on the podcasts tab. Then enable the transfer of the ones you want. I believe that the games are only playable on the 5th gen iPod not the nano. Sorry about that

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"? This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.

I have transfered videos to my ipod in the past but I have two tv shows from the Itunes story that won't transfer.
They are in the correct mpeg 4 whatever format. My itunes is the most resent version, but for some reason I keep getting the same error.
"Cannot Read Or Write To Disk".

I've got this problem too. My 5g iPod 30gig syncs after about 3 minutes with iTunes then after loading songs and videos after 10 minutes i get the same message your getting - "Can't Read Or Write to disk". I think theres some kind of USB2 conflict or something. All my other USB devices work fine. All my drivers and software is up-to-date.

Just got a nano. Wanted to take all my music from my computer that I had even before I had Itunes not all were bought from itunes. I loaded them into itunes and all of them won't transfer to nano only the ones that I brought from itunes. why not all?

I just purchased a Nano. I have a ton of music that I on my computer from before I had a nano and had a mp3 player. I never had a problem transferring that music before. So I didn't purchase them from Itunes. Now that I have a Nano I want to put all those songs on my nano. I also have a iphone that I did buy some songs so those will transfer on my nano. To confirm, al songs are already in your iTunes library of current computer, and they all play using iTunes (on the computer)?
And you are saying all the songs you purchased from the iTunes Store can be synced to the nano without any problems? But NONE of the other songs (that are NOT from the iTunes Store) can be synced to the nano, or SOME of them?

Can't update software, iTunes songs won't transfer

I have an older docked iPod (2nd gen, I think). It is running iPod software 2.2. I updated iTunes to the latest version and now my recently downloaded iTunes songs won't transfer to the iPod. I get an error message saying my iPod software is outdated. But I can't get the latest iPod update software to load. I've downloaded it twice now. When I go through the installation program, it shows me the possible destination volumes for the software -- either my iPod or my hard drive. The iPod has a red X next to it, with an error message saying the software can't be installed on a volume that doesn't have OS X 2.8 or higher on it (my Mac is running OS X 10.3.9). If I try to install the iPod software on the hard drive, everything is grayed out and says disabled. I don't know what to do next. How do I update the software so I can transfer my new playlists? Should I downgrade iTunes back to its previous version (if this is even possible?)? Help! Thanks!!

After system restore, half of ipod data won't transfer

I recently had to do a system restore on my computer and now none of my tv shows will transfer to my ipod and most of my music won't. The first time I updated my ipod after the restore a message said something about the device not being authorized for...something. I should note that I did not download anything but podcasts after the system restore, so everything that won't transfer was there before the restore. I'm not a computer genious, so help is really appreciated.

I am having the same issue. The top of the message board states there are 2 "helpful" answers and 1 "solved" answer. Have you been successful in getting everything to transfer and/or how do I access the referenced answers?

Only cropped photos won't transfer

For some reason, photos that I crop on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 won't transfer to my Windows 7 PC; instead, the original version is transferred. I have tested this and photos that I have edited one of the other 3 ways (rotate, enhance, red eye) show up on my computer they way they've been saved to my Camera Roll. Is there a problem with cropped photos in iOS 6 right now?

This is normal. As I know only iPhoto recognize these changes. Crop them in your computer.

Web-downloaded epub files won't transfer from iBooks to iTunes

Yesterday, on my iPad, I downloaded two epub files from a website (using Safari) and opened them directly in iBooks. They work fine, show up in my Library with no problem. However, I can't get them to sync down to iTunes. This is definitely not the first time I've downloaded directly to iBooks from an app on the iPad (although maybe a first for an epub from Safari?), but this is the first time I've had issues syncing down to iTunes.
I've synced and resynced and resynced and they won't transfer; not only do they not transfer, but if I open the Books folder on the iPad when it's mounted in iTunes, they're not listed. I could put them on my laptop first and then load them into iTunes and to the iPad from there, but I've highlighted and bookmarked in both books and don't want to lose all of that if it's avoidable.
Any ideas? I'm wondering if there's some limitation of iBooks that I don't know. And if there is, is there a way to now get the epub files out of iBooks some other way? (To maintain bookmarks/highlighting.)

P.S. As a test, I just did the same thing on my iPhone with the same results: file won't sync down and doesn't show up when I browse the phone in iTunes.

i have the exact problem last week when I signed up to receive a free epub in the email.
When the email arrived I proceed to open it in ibook on my iphone and started reading, after 2 chapters I decided to sync the phone with my computer and found that it won't sync the newly downloaded epub, not even showing it in the device list in itunes.
So I tried the same thing on my ipad, download to ibook, sync with computer. Same result: the book was not synced and won't show in ipad's book folder in the device list.
Still haven't found a solution

Contacts shown on ipad facetime won't transfer to my recently restored iphone

My iphone had been playing up of late, and resulted in me having to restore the factory settings, before I could back everything up properly. I'm now left with a basic iphone, and all my contacts etc backed up on my ipad. For some reason these won't transfer via icloud and won't merge. They also dont show up on my icloud control panel.
Any suggestions to avoid me the arduous task of tansferring them one by one?!

You could use an app like Download the app My Contacts Backup. to back up the contacts on your iPad as a vCard attachment to an email. Send the email to yourself, then open it on your computer and add the contacts to iCloud as explained here: iCloud: Import a vCard. If you see duplicate contacts on your iPad after doing this it means that you may be syncing them from an external service such as Gmail, Yahoo or an exchange account. If that's the case you will need to disable contacts syncing with the account in order to remove the duplicates.

Existing iTunes songs won't transfer to my iPhone 5

Context: iTunes 11.1.3 (8), iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4, Mac Mini running 10.9.1.
Some songs in my library purchased originally from iTunes won't transfer manually to my iPhone 5 manually. I get an error message stating that the song's format is wrong. These are songs that I've transferred to my iPhone(s) in the past without a problem.
The problem seems to be related to clicking and dragging a number of songs simultaneously. Occasionally, one or more of the batch won't transfer successfully and yields the error message about the format being wrong.
If I click and drag each rejected song from my library to my iPhone, usually the song will transfer. It may take one or two tries to make this happen successfully.
The rejected songs are in different formats (protected AAC, purchased AAC). I haven't figured out a pattern for why some songs are not transferrable without special effort.
This is unique to the current version of iTunes and iOS 7. I've never seen this happen before.
Any ideas for a fix/workaround?

What computer OS are you using? Do you have the latest version of iTunes (v11.1)? There has got to be a reason for the disconnect in the music syncing. I would recommend resetting the sync history. If you are in Windows, go to Edit, Preferences, Devices, and there is a button there. Now, with the phone connected to iTunes and the phone selected in the Device pane, you go to the Summary page and down towards the bottom of the page, there is a Reset Warnings box. After doing that, try to sync music again. If there is a problem, with the warnings reset, it should show up if there is one.

Ok so HD video is not supported, which explains the problem so what is the solution? Do I have to put it through a converter to make the data and bit rate smaller? Would that even be possible?
