Tv shows and etc in australia
is there any way of getting tv shows on the istore in australia...its misleading when istore opens in australia as the US store and you cant get any of the stuff they can over here...is this going to be changed?
Please be aware the availability of TV shows and and other content is strictly up to the content owners. Unless and until the holders of the rights to the shows in Australia are willing to license them to Apple for download sale, there's nothing Apple will be able to do. It's certainly worthwhile to submit your interest through the link JC posted, though. Apple may be able to use such requests as statistics to show the content owners the amount of interest and hence the benefits of allowing such sales.

My keyboard appears to be in French only on Firefox. IE and Word are okay. The apostrophe shows as è and the bar shows as à etc.

It is possible that you have switched the keyboard layout by accident.
* Make sure that you have the Language bar visible on the Windows Taskbar.
* You can do that via the right-click context menu of the Taskbar: Toolbars > Language Bar.
* Check the keyboard language (keyboard layout) setting for the application that has focus via the icon on the Language bar.
* You need to do that while Firefox has focus because Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application.
* The default keys to rotate the layout is a combination (Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift) that can easily be used in Firefox to activate a menu item.
* To avoid an unintentional switch assign a specific key sequence (Alt/Ctrl+Shift+number) to select keyboard layouts and remove the key combination to rotate layouts (Alt+Shift or Ctr+Shift)
* Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and Languages > Change keyboards > Advanced key settings > Change key sequence -
My computer is saying that I am not in the US and so I am unable to view shows, Youtube, etc. I've gone under the location settings and put US several times but nothing has worked. What should I do?
It may not be your computer telling you this, it is probably the company providing the shows to you over the Internet. If that is the case, no setting on your computer can change it because the media company is going by your network address (IP address), which is where your Internet modem (cable or DSL) connects to the outside Internet. If the location of your Internet connection appears to be outside the US (even if it is mistake), media companies that distribute shows under contracts with geographical restrictions may lock you out.
If you use a service like a VPN service, you may have the ability to use IP addresses from other countries so that you can appear to be connecting from there. But it takes some setting up. -
I want to upload a Banner to my iTunes U page.
The banner file has all the requirements like as, kind, size, frame, and etc.
Infortunately, I could not upload the file. It does not show in Provider Page Configuration or the preview.
Someone could help me?Sounds like a driver issue. I never tested in bridge, so I could be wrong. But it sounds to me that when you are connected to that screen, your settings are not set to the full resolution of that screen.

System Imager back to showing var, tmp, and etc
Anyone notice that after the 10.4.8 update, that var, tmp, and etc are showing up on Netinstall images? This used to be a problem up to 10.4.3, but it appears to be back.

I can't help a lot; my stupid Script Editor and AppleScript have also changed. AppleScript just seems to get flakier and it's more than I want deal with much. However, I'll tell you what I found out, even though it's the opposite of a solution.
My Script Editor won't let me save a POSIX file reference either. I can tell you that you can change (file "MyHDName:private:var") to (folder "MyHDName:private:var") and you won't get the error. Of course that's not what you want since it's the symbolic link and not the directory to which it points whose visibility you want to change. I now also get the same error with the command that you posted but the following produces no error for me:
tell application "System Events" to set the visible of (POSIX file "/var" as alias) to false
Of course you can't save it but you can run it. However, you can save it as a shell script that uses the osascript command:
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to set the visible of (Posix file "/var" as alias) to false'
However, this is ultimately no help either because you don't have privileges as a regular user to change the properties of this symlink. Since it's not a "do shell script" command, you can't invoke administrator privileges as far as I know. You can't change the ownership or permissions of a symlink from the command line so the only thing of which I can think is to enable the root user and login as root and run the command. It seems that in order to make AppleScript secure, Apple has made it almost useless as an administrative tool. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable and less frustrated with AppleScript will know how to get administrator privileges.

[SOLVED] /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow -- pwck shows missing groups
I recently found out about the pwck and grpck commands to check for errors/inconsistencies in the passwd, group, shadow and gshadow files... grpck returns no errors, but pwck returns this:
user 'avahi': no group 84
user 'postgres': no group 88
user 'ntp': no group 87
pwck: no changes
These are the relevant lines from /etc/passwd:
avahi:x:84:84:Avahi daemon:/:/bin/false
postgres:x:88:88:PostgreSQL user:/var/lib/postgres:/bin/bash
ntp:x:87:87:Network Time Protocol:/var/lib/ntp:/bin/false
There are lines for those users in /etc/shadow... but... I'm not sure what I need to do to fix the problem.
I think I understand enough, now, to maintain the files in future, but would anyone know I can fix this?

Ha! Well... when I started using Arch I really didn't know much about Linux and I an update providing some .pacnew files (/etc/group, gshadow, passwd, shadow) and... well... I don't know what I did, but I think it was probably not what I should have done(!). I used grpck in the past and got no errors and it suddenly occurred to me today that there should be an equivalent for checking /etc/passwd... so that's why I just ran the commands now. Everything seems to be working, however...
I don't have an entry for groups 84, 87 and 88 in my /etc/group file... Hmmm...
I tried running this command to find any files associated with that group, but only get the following:
[root@i7pc tim]# find / -gid 88
find: `/run/user/1000/gvfs': Permission denied
find: `/proc/1806/task/1806/fd/5': No such file or directory
find: `/proc/1806/task/1806/fdinfo/5': No such file or directory

I get similar output for the other groups, so... can I just delete them from /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow?
I notice I have the avahi package installed, however, and group 84 relates to user 'avahi'... so... surely I need the avahi user...?

I intend to get a Skype number for use when I leave Australia for overseas for 9 months.
I look at the "Premium" service but it does not show calling back to Australia to a mobile!
What I want to do is call landlines and mobiles in Australia from overseas and for Australian contacts to call me on a Skype number.
I already use Skype credit and expect that in addition to the bulk of the calls back to Australia I will need to call other countries (bookings etc)What do I do?
If Skype number with a premium subscription does not allow calls to mobiles then would I need a Skype number (subscription) AND Skype credit?

I am losing available memory on my iPad (64 GB 3rd gen) and it appears to lose memory because some TV shows that I have downloaded from iTunes are appearing twice in my downloads. Both download, but when Only appear as 1 show on my "videos". After viewing the show, I delete, but the duplicate show appears to be still there somewhere (not visible anywhere) taking up the same amount of memory that showed before downloading. It reduces my available memory to download other shows. The general settings do not show any of these phantom shows taking any memory, but the total available is much, much less than what is showing for all usage such as music, videos, photos, apps, etc
Is it possible to delete a show from the download portion of iTunes if you have already seen a show and do not want to waste time or memory downloading again? The only way that I know is to let it download completely and the delete from "Videos".John0618. Did you ever get a response or solution to problem? I bought my children ipad mini's...I signed them up using my apple id not realizing all of my calander, pictures, contacts and etc would show up on thier devices. I now want to switch them to their own apple id (which I have now created) but it won't let me erase my apple id on the device to change it...How can I change the apple id on the device?
Create a new IDs for them:
On the iPod go to
- Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into their ID. Make sure that only their ID email address is listed.
- Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into theirs. Make sure that under You can be reached at only their ID email address is listed
- Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with theirs
- Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out your ID and sign into theirs.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -

How do I print just 1 page out of 14 pages .
I don't see any settings on my iPod and can't find settings on the printer .

Cannot see or sort podcasts via itunes 11 (Win) like I could in iTunes 10 .. am I missing something? Same goes for playlists. I often take old-time-radio music and/or shows and need them in date-order to make them work (say, ep 1 is one date, ep 2, etc - among dozens of titles). IS there is a setting or did Apple just get rid of it? I have a laptop with iTunes 10 but have tried to get used to the newer versions on my Mom's PC. I don't want to update until I can use it the same way.
Serial radio must be in order. And I have to at least see that in the display to put it in a playlist. Podcasts that show dates from several years ago in ver. 10 no long show anything like it now. Nor, btw, does length of file play. I use it as an over night "podcast radio" and need it to make sense. aIf I need extra steps outside of iTunes okay. Just wish Apple had made it clear and it hasn't.

Hardware crashes or virus infections happen, so you should buy software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus, making step-by-step backups during a new install or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)

Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up -

I would suggest you to call different subscreens and load them dynamically based on your parameters.Since different subscreen are called your coding and functionality could also be seperated by writing in the PAI and PBO of the correspondiong Screens.
if you have decided to go by your first method then try the below code.
a) if it is normal UI elements like text box etc

MODIFY SCREEN.

Here <var> refers to the screen field name and value refers to its value.
b) To hide columns in a Table control.

I have lost all my movies, t.v.shows and music, how do I get them back
My computer shot down a couple of times, so I went to have it repaired. The technician needed to reboot the whole system so he save my movies, t.v. shows, apps, music and all on another harddrive. While he was at it I requested to have him installed the new window version Windows 7 Professionnel. Since that awful idea of mine, not only can I not watched or have acces to my movies, t.v. shows, music etc. now the system is telling me there is an incompatibility with windows and Itune, but before this I upgraded Itunes to version 10.06 something, so now the movies that I download work alright they just don't have sound anymore. I can listen and play with my games and all and the sound is fantastic but I soon as I use Itunes, I hear silence and it freezes all the time. I am ****** at Itunes for not being able to help me out, everytime I tried to have contact with a technician I also hear silence, ain't that a kick in the butt. So can anyone out there help me, I have tried many things suggested by people that had the same problem but to no vail, nothing works. I am also wondering about my 300 movies and 400 songs that I have paid for, what will Itunes do to help me out?

MoMoI have read a lot of suggestions concerning my problem, the thing is I don't have the option of Re-downloading and in the file menu when I get my library options I don't even have the option of backing up my movie, music, apps, and I don'tt have the Purchased option under my quick links for some unknown reason. Open itunes store Click "Purchased" under "Quick Links", simply does not work for me. I certainly would like to contact itunes support who would kindly granted me a one time re-download of my purchased music. But then don't answer my cry for help, so again I am stuck with nothing after I bought over 1000.00 dollars worth of movies, music, apps and I don' t have acces to any of it. Uploading YouTube videos/urls into Cisco Show and Share
We've just purchased the DMM 5.2 and the Show and Share appliance to host internal company videos but there are some YouTube videos out there that we want to pull into our Show and Share system as well. How can we do this? I've tried every possible combination of youtube url and embedded url that is out there, at least nothing that I've tried has worked thus far. I'm able to pull in other internal URLs of different videos (wmv format) without any trouble. Is this an issue with YouTube or perhaps with flv formatted video that YouTube uses (which should work according to the manual).
I know this is a new product, but is there anyone that can help?

The YouTube videos are typically Flash content.
The key here is that you need to download the Flash content
yourself and then Upload to the Show and Share.
Use the DIRECT URL of the Flash Content on YouTube to download
the FLV to you Personal device. After file successfully download, simply
upload the file to Show and Share.
