TV Shows causing iTunes Shut down

In the last week, whenever I try to play a TV Show iTunes shuts down. It doesn't happen with movies, music videos, etc... Just TV Shows.

I have been having the same problem for quite some time now. When playing a tv show (and most recently, when merely downloading tv shows from iTunes store while listening to music!), iTunes shuts the computer down. No BSoD, no nothing; just off. I downloaded and ran windows debugger and it suggested that the problem was probably caused by nvata.sys. So I uninstalled all my video drivers, used a driver cleaner, reinstalled the drivers and got the same problem right away. I'm kind of at my wits end. Help?

  • When I try to play a purchased TV show, iTunes shuts down

I purchased a full season of Private Practice from the iTunes Store; it downloaded fine. But whenever I try to play an episode, I am asked again to authorize my computer (which is already authorized) and then iTunes shuts down.
Frustrating!!! Anyone else dealing with this issue?

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
    ... and click OK.
Quit the QuickTime Player if you have it open. Restart the PC and try watching the videos in iTunes again. Do they play now?

  • After itunes software update on vista, itunes shuts down - any help?

After I update itunes, Windows says that it needs to shut down the application due to an unexpected error.  Windows support says to repair itunes.  I process the repair, then itunes shuts down "unexpectedly" again.  Windows supports says to repair again. Same circle..... itunes never works.  I am using Vista.  Any thoughts?

I did this and it still gave me the microsoft error " itunes has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windos will close the program and notify you is a solution is available".  same circle again.

this is the report I get when itunes shuts down????  What is going on

Worth starting again with a clean install of the latest iTunes, when working with iTunes Match do use the iCloud Status and iCloud Download fields to track which Song files are the potential cause of 'error'.

  • Itunes shuts down every time i try to sync with my iPhone

itunes shuts down every time i try to sync with my iPhone

Well reading some other discussions i have found to try deauthirizing and reauthorizing, that didn't work. I guess i could remove iTunes and reinstall, but i hate to do that. Maybe I should take all the music off and sync and then try putting  it back on? Worked before i put music on there, but then there wasn't much to sync at that time. Anyone know of other possible causes that would make iTunes stop working?

  • What's causing hard shut downs?

My mid-2011 iMac has been intermittently shutting down without warning.  The first time this happened it would not restart.  I took it to the Apple Store where a Genius ran a diagnostic check and then suggested it was probably power supply related.  He unplugged the power cord from the back of the iMac and then the iMac would restart.  He said it may never happen again or could repeat.  Nothing I needed to do immediately.
I experienced two more hard shut downs during the next 3 months.  Each time I was able to restart the iMac.  A few days ago it did three hard shut downs in a space of two hours.  I again took it to the Apple Store where a diagnostice check was run.  It indicated a failing hard drive due to bad sectors (the 500 GB hard drive has about 400 GB free space).  Disk Utility showed no problems.  I'm assuming the Apple diagnostic check can find problems that Disk Utility misses.
Apple has now had the iMac for three days running "stress tests" to try to duplicate the hard shut down problem without success.  Apple recommends replacing the hard drive, but has nothing to say regarding the cause of the hard shut downs.
My undestanding is a bad hard drive does not cause hard shut downs.  Does a hard shut down not leave some sort of system log that might point to a cause?

You're clearly thinking about the problem logically.  I agree a failing HD should not mimic a "loss of power".  Is it possible that your home power outlet is flakey?  Voltage drop low enough to cause a trip?  I know ground bounces happen at home and the power company will put a meter on one of your outlets.  Do you ever see the lights in your home brighten or dim?
When you get the mac back, you should try a different outlet (a UPS would be even better).

  • HT1725 I was downloading some songs and iTunes shut down.

I was downloading some songs and iTunes shut down. It says I've purchased a song but it isn't in my purchased playlist, but it charged me for it. How do I get the song, or get my money back?

You've tried the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your computer's iTunes, and does it show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes ?
If not then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • 15" i7 Macbook Pro from early 2011.takes the mac laptop two or three tries to boot successfully. It would turn on, show gray screen, shut down, turn on again, show gray screen, shutdown, and then turn on, show gray screen, before it can finally get

    Hello All,
I have a 15" i7 Macbook Pro from early 2011. The past few weeks, it has been getting increasingly difficult to get on my computer. It takes the mac laptop two or three tries to boot successfully. It would turn on, show gray screen, shut down, turn on again, show gray screen, shutdown, and then turn on, show gray screen, before it can finally get to the dark gray log-in screen. Even when I finally get logged in to start working, thinking it would be okay now, it shuts down randomly.
I've ruled out the possibility of a software problem because I've just done a clean re-install of Mac OS X Mavericks on my computer just yesterday.
I did upgrade the RAM recently, about a month and a half ago, from 4GB to 16GB, I went to the apple store four days after that upgrade to have them do a hardware test, and clean the inside of my laptop, which helped with previous heat issues. When they did the hardware test, the hardware was all registered as fine from their system.
I've tried resetting the SMC, PRAM, and doing the internet recovery hardware test, but to no avail. I thought I could at least find out what parts needed to be replaced from the hardware test but it seems that when the hardware test is almost finished, the computer just shuts down, So I am unable to see the results.
My computer is also having battery issues, under battery condition, it says "replace now," parts have been ordered, waiting for arrival. But if the battery health is low, it should still boot up fine, it would just hold a significantly less charge.
Could this be a hard drive issue?
Has anyone had similar symptoms and how was it resolved?
Does anyone know what I can do to alleviate this issue?
I haven't had time to take it to Apple because I'm currently taking a 21 credit semester academically. I'm an art and design student so my computer is basically the bane of my existence. Help! Any constructive advice is welcomed!
Thank you so much for your input!

  • Itunes shuts down while using

When in iTunes if I try to change info such as song name while in the music library I get a 'send error report' messege and iTunes shuts down. I acctually I don't have to change anything just click in the field and when it turns blue which indicates I can start typing I get the windows error box pop-up. This started after the update 11.1.0.126 but I just saw the problem today as I rarely need to rename a song  or other data.

Try this and see if it helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Itunes shuts down when clicking anything

My iTunes shuts down when I click anything on the screen other than the music. If I click anything on the sidebar (Store, Playlists, Library, etc.) or the album artwork it shuts down. I have tried pulling all the iTunes preferences out of the library and restarting the computer. This does not fix the problem. This has been going on for a few months, but I have been downloading the newest versions of iTunes and it continues to happen.

    Hey chaimoy,
It seems like you may be experiencing an unexpected quit from iTunes when importing a file into the iTunes library. I have an article for you that addresses this circumstance, and it can be found below:

  • I receive an error and iTunes shuts down every time I try to sync my iPhone

Every time I try to sync my iPhone, I receive an error and iTunes shuts down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes at least 3 different times and still no luck. Any suggestions please.

Thanks for the answer. The sync process goes well until the last step,(5th) when iTunes try to syncing pictures. At that point I got an error message telling me that iTunes doesen’t work properly. “Windows tries to find a solution to the problem” ...and then the program shuts down. I remember that I tried to include videos in the Photo tab just before it all happend, so I think that is the issue here.
The problem is that i dont know how to uncheck include videos option since the program stops working. Is it something i can do without having my iPhone connected? I Saw that some have installed older versions of iTunes to go around the problem and if that solves it all, at least for now... where can I download it?
    Thanx in advance. M
