TV shows no longer stream or sync to apple tv's

I have 2 Apple Tv's in different parts of the house on a wired gigabit CAT 6 network. Everything has been fine until a couple days ago when all of my TV Shows older than a couple days disappeared off both Apple TVs. I have over 300 movies and almost 2500 TV shows on a server. I use my iMac to run iTunes off the server and host the Apple TV's. Everything still shows up in iTunes and plays fine. All of of the 300+ movies still show up on both Apple TVs when streaming and the newest 10 show up on the Apple TVs when iTunes is not running as I have selected. All TV shows are displayed in the TV Show tab in iTunes to select to sync. However, only the shows I have downloaded in the past 2 days show up on the Apple TVs either streaming or synced. And, the exact same shows are the only ones that will show up on either Apple TV so I do not think it is a problem with the Apple TV itself. I have tried adding and deleting the Apple TVs, restarting, restarting iTunes, syncing shows and unsyncing shows and I cannot get all of my old shows to stream and cannot get the shows I selected to sync to transfer. Everything worked fine until a couple days ago and I haven't done anything since except buy that Michael Moore season of The Awful Truth. Karma? Any thoughts on fixing it?

Figured it out but in case this happens to anyone else...
The TV Shows somehow were all unchecked in the tv show section of itunes. None of the unchecked shows will display on the Apple TV. Only new shows that were downloaded were check and those would show up. Selected all then control clicked and selected "check selection". This fixed it but it almost drove me crazy trying to figure it out.

  • ITunes doesn't show all Photoshop Albums for syncing with Apple TV

I created a new Album in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. When I attempted to sync my new album with my Apple TV, not all of the Photoshop Albums are listed. If I sync my newly created album to my iPod Touch, the entire list is available by scrolling. (Scrolling is NOT available in the Apple TV Photo Tab).

I am having the same problem. It has been ongoing for a long time. I have over 136 items in my feed, yet only 101 ever show in iTunes.
Is there a limit to the number of podcasts that can show in iTunes?

I replaced my HD in my iMac, now my Apple TV (gen 1) won't sync with iTunes, it does not even show up in the device section of iTunes.  I turned on sharing in iTunes now my Apple TV shows up in iTunes device section and when I click on it iTunes shows me a streaming sync page as if my Apple TV were a gen 2 unit.  ITunes  wants to stream everything to my Apple TV. I no longer can manually sync my iTunes with my Apple TV.   In the Apple TV menu when I select computers Apple TV shows me my old hard drive with a lock next to it, when I click on it I get a warning that if I continue I will erase the entire Apple TV.  Do I need to erase the AppleTV and start from an emty Apple TV HD?

  • TV shows no longer sync

Ok, this is something that just came up. TV shows that I could once sync to my ATV will no longer sync. I don't even get an error in iTunes about why they are not syncing. I did a full factory reset of the ATV (which brings it back to verions 1.0) and it didn't help either. could some preference file gotten damaged in iTunes? Anyone else experience this?
    Thanks,

    Is this just TV shows.
    Is it all TV shows.
The itunes database files can get corrupted and cause itunes content to dissapear from other applications, have you tried repopulating itunes with any of the problem files.

  • Multiple Video Streams not synced

    Long story short;
I have a track with two video streams or angles. They are the exact same in terms of timecode down to the last frame (it's basically the same video but one stream has a color filter for visual effect).
My problem is this: whenever I switch between the two videos, the second video is not synced with the audio. It seems to be a few seconds off, and I'm hoping to get this issue resolved. The first video stream is synced properly regardless, but it's just the second stream that isn't working properly.
If it makes any difference, I'm using .m2v video format and only one audio stream. Anybody have any ideas?

That's actually exactly how I have it, I just added an extra option so you can, in theory, switch between the two versions on the fly.
In the track viewer both video streams are the exact same length, the only issue is when I switch the video angles. I guess I could just erase the second video stream and avoid the problem altogether (don't want that showing up in my final school project now do I), but I really want to figure this out.

  • ATV no longer streaming

For some reason my aTV is no longer streaming content from iTunes. It used to be that synced content on the aTV would remain in my aTV library until I removed it from iTunes (but marked as watched if already viewed). Now when I watch something that is synced it is immediately removed after viewing. I haven't changed any settings. How can I get streaming back? Thank you!

I sync my content to the aTV but leave iTunes open on the Mac that the aTV is synced to. Content is removed from my aTV immediately after watching but is still available to watch in my Movies, Tv Shows, etc.. through streaming. There is no solid dot next to the show to indicate it has been watched.
This is how it used to be. Now content is no longer showing up to stream. Only content with a solid dot (unwatched) is showing up in the aTV menus. I'd like to know how to stream my video from iTunes. I don't think I have changed anything.
    Thank you for the reply.

  • My iTunes Video Library no longer streams to Apple TV

Hello, I have searched all over and cannot seem to find a resolution to my problem so if this has been answered, I apologize. Problem is I can no longer stream any sort of video stored in my iTunes on my MacBook Pro to my Apple TV. It used to work before without any issue.  Current iTunes version is 11.3.1 (2) and Apple TV software is 6.2. All my music plays just fine.  Whenever I bring up an artist or song on the TV and select it, it plays no problem. With regards to my music videos and home videos, I can see them on the TV (the thumbnail), however when I select it, all I get is the little circle in the middle of the TV that just spins and spins like its loading but nothing ever does.  Also, all my home videos, TV shows and music videos in iTunes on my MacBook open and play just fine on The MacBook.  So music streams to the Apple TV just fine, cannot get a single video to play from my laptop to my TV thru the Apple TV box. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

    Hello OptiClaus
Have you tried the troubleshooting Home Sharing article below? If not, it may help you out getting video to start working again.

  • Can I stream and sync from the same itunes library to one AppleTV?

Can I stream and sync from the same itunes library to one AppleTV?

From what I can tell this is a bug.
A very Frustrating bug. When the take 2 update launched I was streaming movies via "shared movies" from my synched computer without any issues. However after a couple of recent iTunes updates all the "shared" menus stopped appearing and I can no longer stream anything from my main computer.
When I open up my macbook though everything streams fine, all the "shared" menus immediately appear.
Numerous restarts, factory resets and reinstalling the 2.0 software have done nothing to help this issue.
If anyone has any more light on the subject it'd be great to hear. Also I'm not sure which update broke it because I went about a month not using the apple tv.

  • I can no longer sync my Apple TV

I can no longer sync my apple tv with my ITunes account. I have a 1st generation Apple TV and upgraded my ITunes to the latest softward. Now I can't sync my ITunes library. My apple tv never show up as a device on my computer.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Also try de/re connecting your iTunes library from your Apple TV; disconnect from the Apple TV (Settings/Computers/Your_Library) and reconnect again (Settings/Computers/Connect_to_iTunes) - You will need to re-sync previously synced content.

  • Apple TV no longer stream from iTunes Match

Since the last update Apple TV does not longer stream my music from iTunes Match. Also is the option for itunes match not longer selectable but on my ipad is it still working.

Did you ever get this figured out?
I am having this problem with my just-purchased Apple TV 3rd generation A1469, MD199LL/A, software 6.0.2.
iTunes on my mac is at the latest version 11.1.3.
iTunes Match has been, and continues to work for me on iPhone 5s. My Mac reports iTunes Match: iTunes library available in iCloud.
After enabling iTunes Match, I see "Setting up your Apple TV to stream music from iTunes Match. This may take a few minutes, depending on the size of your library and Internet connection speed." After this a thermometer bar slowly completes left to right, indicating some kind of sync info transfer is occurring. This takes a number of minutes. Some minutes are the thermometer bar completes, the following error message appears:
    /_!_\ iTunes Match
There was a problem connecting to iCloud. Try again later.
( /_!_\ above symbolizes an exclamation point inside a yellow triangle. )
One thing which may be somewhat uncommon in my setup is that I have two Apple ID's. One is my iTunes Store Apple ID. This is used for all my iTunes purchases, iTunes in the cloud, and iTunes Match. The other is my iCloud ID. In Apple TV settings, iTunes Store is associated with my iTunes Store ID. I have tried with Apple TV iCloud associated with my iCloud ID, with my iTunes Store ID, and also signed out, with no difference in behavior.
Another thing which may be uncommon is I am using the Apple ID two-factor authentication (two-step verification) described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US. Perhaps Apple TV has no way to deal with this? I have not tried disabling that as an experiment: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5631.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide - I would really like to operate from iTunes Match and so as not to need to have mymacbook pro on and running iTunes and home sharing in order to enable content to apple tv.
    Joe

  • Stream or syncing from an iPod?

After my 18 month old Airport Express inevitably packed up and stopped working I decided to upgrade to AppleTV. To be honest unless I'm missing something AppleTV doesn't seem to be able to do half the stuff I'd hoped for.
Is there anyway I can get the playlists on my iPod to stream to Apple TV?
Or is there anyway I can use AppleTV to sync to my iPod playlists?
From what I can see the only benefit to syncing is so that I can listen to music on the odd occasion my laptop is actually switched off.
I've spent hours putting large playlists onto my AppleTV, but can I add to them without having all the original tracks constantly on my laptop hard drive as well? I don't want stuff that's already on AppleTV to be removed each time I upload (sync).
Bottom line is that I never have enough space on my MacBook Pro to hold my mp3 collection. All my music is on my iPod and it used to be so simple to just plug it into my laptop and stream straight to Airport Express. When I purchased a new album I'd copy it onto my iPod and then remove it from my iTunes library on my MacBook Pro to save space.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I have been having a similar issue. My problem is that I bought Heroes Season 1 on iTunes. I downloaded some episodes on my laptop at home, and I downloaded others from my desktop at work, which I then put on my iPod to watch on the subway. Only later did I learn that you can only download video content to one computer even though you bought and paid for it (this rip-off is a topic for another thread).
Anyway, I have been able to get around the problem by connecting my iPod to my laptop whenever I want to watch that content, which allows me to watch the shows on my laptop.
What I cannot seem to do, however, is stream my iPod through Apple TV so that I can watch the video content that exists on my iPod but that is not on my laptop. I can connect the iPod to my laptop while Apple TV is also on and synced, but none of the iPod content appears to be accessible through Apple TV.
It sounds like we have a similar problem. Hopefully someone can help us out -- I can't imagine that Apple TV would not have the capability to stream video stored on an iPod, particularly given iTunes' draconian video download restrictions.

  • Video no longer streaming since update

Apple TV will no longer stream movies from my iTunes Library since the update. The only way I can see new movies is if I physically Sync them over to the Apple TV Hard Drive. This not only seems to invalidate the entire friggin' point of having an Apple TV, but it's especially inconvenient since Apple decided to be inconsiderate jerks and disable the USB port. (And thanks for that, Apple. Can't have me doing anything useful like adding on my own storage, now can we?)
Anyone know how to get movies to Stream again? Thanks.

I don't mean to be snarky here, and I do appreciate the fact that you're at least commenting, which nobody else is bothering to do, but when it comes to Apple, installing the latest Update is NEVER the right answer.
For example, a few years back Apple released a Firmware update that Bricked my entire Mac. Their answer? "Buy a new motherboard".
In this case, I went ahead and updated to 3.0.1. Now I not only can't see my media, but I can no longer log in to the iTunes store. So basically, every update I install makes my ATV that much more useless.

  • Why aren't my photo stream pictures syncing to iPhoto once I moved it onto an External Hard Drive?

I recently moved my iPhoto library to an EHD, and everything has been working great.
I just went in, however, and my August 2014 photo stream, which syncs from my iPhone, only has one picture from each day/set of photos I have taken.
It is extremely odd - only the first photo from a vacation I went on, the event I went to last night, the meal I photographed on Tuesday are showing up.
If anyone can please help, I'd appreciate it!
