TV shows not showing up on Apple TV

Just when I think I have everything figured out with Apple TV, it throws me another curve.
Yesterday, I purchased a couple shows (two 30 Rock episodes and Indecision 2008) on my synced computer. But when I tried to stream them to Apple TV, they didn't show up on the menu. Eventually I synced them to Apple TV, and that worked, but I'd rather not go through that every time as it takes forever.
Is there any ideas as to why they didn't stream? I made sure they were all checked in iTunes, and the "show only synced shows" option was unchecked. I also thought maybe it had something to do with the fact that they were HD, but Indecision 2008 is standard-def.

sometimes new additions to your itunes library can take a short while before they show up on the appletv.
if you click the "sync" button in itunes, that usually forces appletv to refresh and pick up any new additions (even if they are just streaming).

  • Purchased Apple TV Show not showing up on apple TV

We purchased season passes to a few TV shows and they used to automatically download to our apple TV.  As recently as last week we are getting our notices over email and the TV shows show up on our computer but do not download to our apple TV directly like they used to.  We do not know how to get our TV shows to our apple tv to play on our big tv.  please help

I am also having the same exact problem.  Put in a ticket with Apple 2 days ago when I first noticed the problem.  No one has contacted me reagarding this, and you can't get anyone on the phone!!! So frustrating!!! I went back and put in a dispute for all episodes that charged me and I was never allowed to watch, some season passes others were single episodes.  All in all Apple owes me about $150 as of now.  We are an Apple family, love their products, but this is ridiculous!!! Glad I'm not the only frstrated party, hoping there is some resolve. Really would like to get what I paid for!!!!!

  • PDF comments showing/not showing inconsistently

One of my coworkers has Acrobat 9 for Mac. 95% of all commented PDF’s show up fine on her Mac but every so often she gets a PDF where the comments just do not show up.
If I open the same PDF on my Mac the comments show fine but she still cannot see them. If I resave the file on my Mac then the comments will show.
It doesn’t happen with every PDF though, it's inconsistent.
I was thinking of reinstalling Acrobat 9 on her Mac
We are moving to an all PDF workflow soon so we need to find out what could be causing this. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Allen

We have checked the preferences and they match mine and I can see the comments. It is just strange that it is so intermittent.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Synced TV show not showing thumbnail

I recently got an iPad 2. I synced 1 show from my iTunes account and I downloaded 2 shows from iTunes directly onto the iPad. The show from my account does not show a picture for the thumbnail. The 2 episodes I downloaded do. Is this because I only have 1 episode synced from the 2 that I bought of that season?

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

  • Recently Watched on demand shows not showing up.

Anyone having issues with the Recently Watched on demand feature? Shows are not showing up until hours after the were chosen.

I do check there, some TV episodes are there and all my movies are. I've also searched for them on the iPad. Thank you for trying, I can see someone overlooking that.

  • Groups  showing/not showing addresses

I know in mail you can select either to show or not show all members of a group when sending emails.
But for some groups I do want them shown and for others I do.
Is there a way to do this without opening preferences every time I want to email either group?

That's right. It's a bug. For the moment, use the Bcc field if you don't want recipients to see addresses.

  • Why is 'Sherlock' TV show not showing up on my original ipad?

We have a large shared iTunes library with LOTS of movies, tv shows and music. The library is stored on an 8TB Promise Pegasis RAID drive linked to a mac mini. We aos have three 1 iPhone 4, 2 iPhone 5, 2 original iPads, 1 iPad (3rd generation) and 2 Apple TV's, an old G4 Flat Panel, a 24" imac, a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air all of which use Home Sharing. The problem I'm having is in NOT being able to see certain purchased TV shows (in this case, the show 'Sherlock' - both seasons and all but one episode of 'Game of Thrones') on the original iPads via Home Sharing. The shows appear on every other device but the original iPads. Also, the entire season of Game of Thrones appears on all other devices...but on the original iPads only the first episode appears...with a link to purchase other episodes - However, I have purchased the entire season...and ALL the episodes are available for viewing on every other device. I should point out that these shows were not ripped from DVDs but purchased from the iTunes store. Each of these devices is linked to the exact same iTunes account for purposes of Home Sharing. I assume it must be something related to both of these iPads running iOS 5.1, but I can't imagine what that issue would be. I had originally thought that it may be due to the fact that 'Sherlock' is in 1080p, but most of the movies are also HD...as is the one episode of 'Game of Thrones' that does appear via Home Sharing, so I ruled that out.
I realize this is not an earth-shattering issue, but it is a bit of a bother. Any ideas, suggestions or possible fixes would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I've the same problem as the original post. I already enabled photo stream for iCloud on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad Air. Both are running iOS 7. I didn't have this problem between my iPhone 4 and my old iPad.  Thanks for any advice.

  • Front Row Sharing - Some TV shows not showing up

    Hi all,
I have a problem with iTunes' shared libary - it only shows a subset of TV shows within iTunes. I have a Mac Pro in my den, which hosts a pretty large itunes library (about 750GB), of which 350GB are TV shows I've either bought from iTunes or ripped from DVD. The machine is running 10.6 and iTunes is fully up to date. Everything works as you'd expect on the Mac Pro, and Front row can see all the videos iTunes can see.
In our bedroom we have a fairly recent Mac Mini. If i use iTunes ->iTunes sharing, all the titles show up correctly and I an watch any TV show.
However, if we use the sharing feature in front row on the mac mini, only a subset of TV shows appears - and infuriatingly it's not even 100% reliable which items will fail to show - but it is about 90% reliable, which is even more frustrating, as it's clearly not totally random. The shows most likely to be effected seem to be the ones added in the last few months.
I've also tried running front row on different clients on the same LAN - both my wife and my Macbook pros do the same, as does an iMac in our kitchen, so it seems to me to be either a problem which effects Front Row generally, or a fault on the iTunes server Mac Pro. Is my library simply too big for the Front Row sharing feature to work correctly? If so - this is ridiculous!?
I've looked into alternative clients for the Mac Mini, like Mediacentral, which doesn't seem to support sharing of iTunes videos, and also Plex which again doesn't appear to support this, but is frankly so complex it's hard to tell - if it will support seamless iTunes sharing of all content, I'd be happy to give it a go - but it doesn't look like it does.
Preferably there would just be a fix like deleteing some iTunes cache files or something on the Mac Pro - I've had a sniff about the iTunes XML file, and compared the data of some of theTV shows which turn up to some of those that don't and they all look identical, schema wise, so I'm none the wiser.
All machines tested are totally up to date, OS/iTUnes wise..
I haven't managed to find anything on the internet about this, which leads me to think it's probably an obscure issue with my iTUnes installation, rather than a problem with library size, since I'm sure many other people have bigger libraries than this....
    Any help greatly appreciated!

I have the same issue. My home shared library can all be seen on my iPhone or my Apple TV 3rd Gen but not on my ipad. Only some movies and tv shows show up. Also. Many of the TV shows are all mixed up. Episodes shows up in different series and all mix up. All those issues only on the iPad, on other devices, all seems fine.

  • Purchased TV shows not showing up during home sharing

    Hello All,
I love doing home sharing on my iPad and my Apple TV.  However I am having some problems with home sharing of TV shows on my iPad.  Let me give you an example.  I purchased Criminal Minds season 7.  When I do home sharing on my Apple TV it shows up and plays just fine, but will not on my iPad.  All of the other seasons are there but not season 7.  How do I fix this?
    Thank You,
    Christina

Files purchased from the iTunes store don't automatically download a second time. Files that were purchased on the old computer won't download again unless you contact the iTunes store and ask them to re-authorize them.
If you can still access the hard drive on the old computer, you should try to copy them over to the new computer via your network or an external hard drive. If you are now using the new computer to sync with your ATV, only files that are present on that computer will sync. If the files aren't there, they won't sync. Files don't sync from the iTunes store, they sync from the iTunes library on your computer.

  • Why does my note show not show correctly when I open it in my 4th generation iPod?

The instructions on how to add a note or text document to view in my 4th generation iPod nano say merely to add a copy of the text document to the 'Notes' folder shown when viewing my iPod's files in 'My Computor.' I did so with a document, but it came up only showing 'PK' when I opened it on my iPod. I also tried adding a book I had purchased from iTunes to my iPod but it also only came up with 'PK'. I don't really understand what's going on as I came view the file just fine when it's opened on my computor, just not on my iPod.

Books in the epub or iBook format are not compatible with the 4G Nano.  As for the text document, what did you give it as a name and extension?
Did you copy and paste text into this note or did you type it out manually?

  • TV Show not showing on iPad

    Hi,
I recently purchased a TV show on my Mac, opted not to download it due to size and kept it in iCloud to stream. It appears in the Videos app on my iPhone 5S but not on my iPad Air. It shows the first two seasons only on my iPad Air but the recently purchased third season doesn't show at all. I've tried turning off the option to display videos in iCloud and turning it back on but that didn't work, anything else I could try?

  • Flash Slide Show not Showing after Hosting Change

    Hey guys!
I don't know if this question is for you or for the good folks at the Dreamweaver forum, but I thought I would try here first. I took over a website for a family member to help them update it from time to time (They were paying a company to do it). When I changed hosting from the companies hosting to my own personal GoDaddy hosting everything went right, except for 2 flash slide shows (Simple rotating images). They just apear as clear boxes now. You can see what I am talking about here: http://grangerfun.com/golf  and here  http://grangerfun.com/pizza . You will notice the empty large empty box on the right in both pages. When you right click on it the browser recognizes that it is flash. On the Piza site I tried taking out the original code and entering the flash object via Dreamweaver CS5, but that yeilded the same results (I only mention this because the code on that site will thus look a bit different). What am I missing here? If you need more info, please let me know! I apreaciate all of the help you guys have given me over the years! I hope to one day pay the favor back!

You need to look at the Flash source file (.fla) to see what goes on inside.  If the files worked in the previous server, then whoever made the files should be able to determine where any supporting files need to be placed.  If that turns out to be the company that's been dumped you might or might not get help in finding that out.  The least you can try to do is to copy everything from the existing site into the same file/directory structure on the new server, which I would assume is what you have tried to do, so if it is possible to still check, see what else might be on the previous server that got missed.

  • Videos labeled "TV Show" not showing up.

This might be an old problem, but when I use tv shows copied from DVDs and choose the video kind "TV Show" the file doesn't show up on my iPod. Is there a way to fix this, or can only purchased shows be listed under TV Shows? Thanks ahead of time.

Somebody else asked this question recently, and the "solved" response was that only TV Shows purchased on iTunes will automatically show up in the TV Shows group in iTunes and on the iPod.
I've converted many TV shows from DVD and this seems to be true. Changing 'kind' to TV Show puts them in the right place in iTunes, but not on the iPod. To get them categorized on the iPod, I had to create a playlist of my TV shows. I entered 'TV Show' in the Grouping field for each one, then created a playlist where 'Grouping contains TV Show'. This playlist was added to my iPod the next time I synched, but to access it I have to go through Menu - Videos - Video Playlists - TV Shows.
Note: My iPod doesn't have the category 'TV Shows' on the Videos menu at all, and this didn't change after I'd set 'Kind' to TV Show in iTunes; maybe that category only gets added if you buy TV shows from iTunes. By default, all videos NOT purchased from iTunes seem to get added to the 'Movies' category both in iTunes and on the iPod. Simply entering an Artist name for each music video (after setting 'Kind' to Music Video) will get them in the Music Videos category in both places, but I've had to work with custom playlists for everything else (i.e., TV shows, home movies).

  • Tv shows not showing on ipad in iOS 5

i have transferred tv shows from my imac to my ipad via itunes and all appears as it should on the itunes screen. the problem is that on my ipad there is no tv shows folder appearing, only a movies folder. when i change it back in itunes to a movie rather than tv show it then appears both on my itunes screen and ipad in the relevant place. any ideas why this is?

Heh, that's interesting. I usually drag and drop and then edit the metadata once it's on the device. Maybe there's some bug stopping the iPad getting the updated metadata correctly if done that way round.

  • Daily show not showing up? Yes, i'm checking for purchases.

I purchased a multipass for the Daily Show for the second time (the first time it worked great), but this time, this week I haven't recieved any of the episodes. When I check for purchases it tells me i have all the episodes downloaded. I'm assuming that they had the show this week, because it say on the comedy central website that it's on tonight. But on the iTunes daily show page, the latest episode is the last one that I have. Is there something i'm missing? Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks

The Willie Nelson episode appears to have been the last new episode aired. The Daily Show is, from what I can gather, in repeats this week and next. The next new episode seems to be scheduled for June 5th.
