Tv shows on Touch

Hi,
I have a slight problem when i try to put a dvd of tv shows that i have taped of the television onto my touch. I have the handbrake software and when i try to encode the dvd it starts and finishs immediatly and there is no file to speak of. When i have encoded my home movies it seems to only take from beginning to end and no menus. So if i have a tv series like CSI and i have a menu on it for the seperate episodes how will it read it. If i tape each episode individually and put them in my Touch that works but it puts them under movies rather than TV Shows and i cannot move them.
Please help me as i have lots of TV shows that i would like to watch.

You'll need to head to Handbrake's website to read information and ask there if there is a forum, or perhaps over at forums.ipodlounge.com for help specifically about Handbrake.
When you load a DVD with TV episodes into handbrake, it offers you the chapters to rip individually, or all, and you'll see the length of each chapter which will probably be the length of each show. You can queue them up to do them individually.
To make the files appear on your Touch as TV Shows, not Movies, go into iTunes and click on a file, then right click and Properties or Get Info. Under the video tab you can change the video type (Music Video, TV Show, Movie). If you change it to TV Show, you can then add stuff like episode and season number to help sorting them.

PC Windows 7 is now showing iPod Touch (4th Gen) as a digital camera instead of music player

I somehow lost my entire iTunes library on my PC Windows 7 (64 bit) and need to restore it to my PC. When I try to copy the songs from my iPod Touch Version 4.1.2, it shows up as a digital camera device rather than a music player device and only gives photo box to type into. It also does not show up as ipod_control in the ipod drive folders. I followed all instructions but cannot accomplish anything. I also tried to follow instructions provided for the digital camera device to no avail. I have the most recent installed version of iTunes 12 and all my drivers are up to date. Can't buy TV shows on Touch?

I want to purchase and watch a TV show on my iPod Touch (1st gen). I go to the iTunes app (pink icon), and search. No TV shows are returned in the search results. I KNOW these are for sale in the iTunes store — why can't I buy them from the Touch?

Smart Playlist I've Created for Podcasts I cannot get to show on Touch

any ideas please ? I'm sure I had no problems ages back before OS 3.x but now I can't get a smart playlist for podcasts I've created to show up on my Touch
bascially the smart playlist is:
Media Kind is Podcast
Date added is in last 2 days
Live updating (off)
and in Windows/Itunes works perfectly, does exactly what it should - shows all podcasts added in last 2 days
on Ipod Touch - Smart Playlist will not show

There are also some tips in the the thread that may help workaround the issue, like adding the Playlist is Music rule.

Lenovo flex 2 14 touchpad showing im touching it

My lenovo flex 2 14 touchpad is saying tham I have 4 fingers on the touch pad (which is evidently effecting it as i cant use it what so ever), when I dont. This occured out of no where, and no software, or system changes have occured to cause this issue, and I haven't the slightest cluse as to what caused it, furthermore when I touch the touch pad on the top left corner, it goes down to 2 or 3 fingers.
im on windows 8.1.
any advice or fixes would be appriciated

I'm having this issue as well except on my Yoga 2 Pro. I have the pinch to zoom feature disabled (which is frustrating since it's a useful feature). Usually it zooms in when scrolling down, often to percentages between 800 and 900% view.

Touchsmart tx2 1160ea only showing single touch in windows 7

as stated above i have just updated to windows 7 32bit ultimate, and i can use multi touch to zoom and things like before but non of the windows 7 things work, like the multi touch in paint and windows explorer.
The notebook is a touchsmart tx2 1160ea
In system it's saying, pen and touch: pen and single touch input available

In case you have not found the answer yet, try n-trig website as well as hp.
Found by downloading and installing:
DuoSense_MTM_RTM_Win7_32bit_TouchSmartTX2_2.239.zip
Rollback_x32.zip ( and using the driver folder within)
WinTab_Setup_x32.zip
The single point was replacd by 4 points !
of course for a 64 bit OS, a 64 bit version of that software would be needed.

ITunes shows iPod Touch having almost 1 gb of "Other"

See title... I'm trying to figure out what the 1 GB of other on my iPod Touch is...
Relevant info: iPhone OS 3.1.1, iPod Touch 2nd Gen 16 GB

And welcome to Apple Discussions!
The storage space taken up by "Other" can be made up of, notes or files of any kind you've added to the iPod while using it as a hard disk or as you mentioned, album artwork and lyrics. Or sometimes when the iPod data base has become corrupt.
There will always be a few MBs of used space under "other" but if it's in GBs it's unusually large. This often happens when the iPod data base becomes corrupt. And as Anna notes below, it is probably a good idea to restore your iPod.

Thanks f/ this info, bobjbkln. Your remark, it's snide tone notwithstanding, reminded me I shouldn't be looking f/ the iPod in the Explorer, but rather in the Device Manager. In the Device Manager it IS recognized as a connected Portable Device.
That recognition does not address my additional issue w/ iTunes not starting up automatically when the device is connected, however. Likewise, if the device is connected when the computer is booted, iTunes does not automatically start up. Can you help me figure out why that is happening?

Unable to play certain Movies/TV shows on Touch

I have a couple TV episodes downloaded to I tunes but every time i sync i get a message that says i am unable to play these on my I-Pod. they are both HD but I was sure I had watched other HD downloads in the past. Maybe mistaken. Anyway i know when i bought them i had the option to take the regular version so thought i should just download again but it wants me to buy it again. any suggestions

When I try to watch on my laptop, I hear the sound, but the video is unrecognizable.
Are you seeing patches of bright colors? (pinks, purples, greens, etc.)
With those symptoms, the first thing I'd check on is the "Disable Direct3D Acceleration in QuickTime" section from the following document:
Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista video playback performance issues
(After making any settings changes in the QuickTime control panel, restart iTunes or QuickTime before checking to see if the changes have had any effect.)

3rd gen Ipod Touch won't sync/show in Itunes after 10.4.08 update

On Saturday (7/30) I updated to ITunes 10.4.08 and updated to 4.3.5 (8L1) on my touch. It worked fine and synced properly after it d/l'd. Later in the day I plugged my Touch back into my computer and it wouldn't sync or show in ITunes. No error's or anything, just wont show and Touch is working as it should. All my USB ports are working fine and are charging my Touch. I've uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes two more times since then only to have the same problems happen. It will sync and show once, but after I disconnect and then reconnect, it will not show/sync again.If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!

Small update.....I took my Touch to the Genius Bar yesterday, told them about the issue and they just gave me a new Touch. That's awesome and all, but I still have the problem. I guess it's on my computers end but what I don't understand is why does it work once, then never again?? Help?!?!?

How do i enable my disabled ipod touch 4th generation? ...I had just downloaded my first app when someone stole it. I asked people who might know where its at and luckily a friend was able to get it back for me. only problem was, it was disabled already!

after all ive gone through with it in just a days time of actually being able to use, its stolen,but luckily I got it bac,\k, but then unlucky its disabled when i get it back. didnt have a computer i could downlaod itunes on and connect to my ipod via usb cable. Finally, my friend brings me her laptop computer and I download the app. yesss. then i connect ipod. nothing happened at first. still said ipod disabled connect to itunes on display. then after i exited out of the various windows i opened to get it to its current position. bam, out of no where it sends out a notification sound and its showing itunes logo with a usb cable beneath it arrow in midst of the two pointing to i tunes. wallah itunes shows ipod touch on left and displays downlaod process after i answered various questions to allow it to downlaod updates and restore my ipod. . i was excited and relieved needless to say... why am I here now though, with what seems to be the same problem. you see it downloads a part of the file then about 20 mins into it or less than 25% through, i hear a beep sound from my ipod again. no it wasn"t finished with download as i had eexpected it to say but instead it said itunes was unable to access my ipods files cause my ipod had a password protection on it and that i needed to enter that password on my ipod first in order for the itunes app be able to access it.!!! HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANYBODY SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I HAVE TO CONNECT TO ITUNES TO REENABLE IT BUT WHEN I DO THAT, I CAN DO IT TIL I ENTER MY PASSWORD ON IPOD FIRST , WHICH CANT ACCESS PASSWORD OVERRIDE SCREEN UNTIL ITS CONNECTED TO ITUNES. - Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

I am afraid I am going to wipe out my apps on my Ipod Touch.

I have had my Ipod Touch 3rd Gen 64 gig for about a month now and its about the most amazing thing i have ever used, however there is one annoying thing I would love to have fixed. When i connect the touch to my pc to charge it, itunes automatically pops up and of course shows my touch on the left hand side of the screen. If I click on the touch, then click on the APPS tab on top of the screen it shows a list of all my apps and AUTOMATICALLY checks all the apps that i have downloaded since the last time my touch was connected and gets them ready to be synced. I have the settings set to PREVENT IPODS, TOUCHES, IPHONES FROM SYNCING AUTOMATICALLY, and it does NOT sync automatically. HOWEVER, if i do want to swap out apps for new ones or just add new ones i have to go through the whole list and uncheck the new ones i dont want. (thanks to appshopper.com i download ALOT of apps every day so there are ALOT to sift through. I want the option to do ALL ot this myself and not have to worry about the pc taking over and chcking all new apps automatically. Here is where my question lies. When i am on this screen with my app list and my ipod touch, above the pic of the touch there is a box markd SYNC APPS, this is ALWAYS checked, i am assuming this is why it keeps checking all the new apps automatically for m to sync them. When i go th click that little check mark off this comes up"are you sure you do not want to sync applications? all existing applications and thie rdata on your ipod touch will be removed" This is exactly what i DONT want to happen. I have a lot of apps on the touch that have some VERY important info on it like checkbooks apps, contact appps,ect ect and if they were to be deleted, it would be devistating because the touch is pretty much the only place i maintain this info now. So basically my question is, can i stop th darn thing from automatically checking the boxes WITHOUT wiping everything out of my touch. Thank you very much.

1st Gen iPod touch Keeps Having to Be Re-Registered with iTunes

My 1st Gen. iPod touch works very well, with one exception. Every few weeks I'll turn it on and I'll get the picture of the cable and the iTunes icon - which is what you get the first time you use your iPod touch and means it needs to be registered with iTunes. This will happen both if I plug it in to my charger and when I just simply turn it on with the power button. I'll then take the touch to my computer and use my syn cable and plug it in. When the iTunes window comes up, on the left column it shows my touch, but the name I'd given it has gone back to the default name. I'll rename it again, but again within a week or two the same thing happens again. I'm stumped. I'm using an iMac running Leopard 10.5.6 and a white MacBook, also with 10.5.6. All my software on the touch, MacBook and iMac are up to date. I have very few apps on my touch and lots of room left on it to store stuff. Can anyone help? Thanks.

That screen, with the iTunes icon and the USB cable, means the iPod is in recovery mode.

Are you using any 3rd-party accessories with the iPod touch?
Does the accessory have the Made for iPod logo?
Try restoring the iPod again, setting it up as a new iPod, and testing it without any 3rd-party accessories.
If the issue persists, the iPod may need hardware repair. Just make a reservation to have a Genius take a look at it or call AppleCare.
