TV shows out of order
Battlestar Galactica season 4 shows purchased through iTunes show up in wrong order in library. When I go to Get Info each episode has proper data in it, including episode number, but they don't line-up accordingly to that number. How to fix it?
Andrew, some of the episodes from season 4 were posted with the show name "Battlestar Galactica ('04)" as opposed to just "Battlestar Galactica." Not sure if this is your problem. It caused me issues; I had to go in to each episode with the different show name, select "Get Info" and change the TV show name from "Battlestar Galactica ('04)" to "Battlestar Galactica" and that got them back to where they needed to be.

they are in sync on iPod, but not on computer.
another issue that might be from the same cause is, the order of episodes of the tv shows i have downloaded, they appear in order on computer, but on iPod they show out of order.
any tips on how to fix this would very much help.

An old version of iTunes will cause this and mess up the videos on your iPod. Always make sure you always use an up-to-date version of iTunes.

Do out of order iTunes 11 tracks sync to iPod?
The upgrade to iTunes 11 caused various albums to show out of order track listsings in expanded view. We haven't re-synced our iPod to iTunes since the update for fear that this mis-ordering will be brought over to the iPod.
Will the new track ordering move to the iPod on sync?
Is there any way to force the old ordering?
We've looked at a lot of solutions on line, none have helped, they're for previous versions. We see a correlation between the albums we ripped from CD and the ones that are mis-ordered.
All help appreciated!!I just reformatted the files to MP3 and it took care the problem.

I really didn't think they could screw up iTunes more but it seems they have. It seems that iTunes is the one branch of the Apple tree that has been left to run ragged and alienate customers at will. Design, Marketing, Support and Stores still seem to be the same Apple and functioning in a way to grow as well as retain customer base. iTunes - not so much.
All albums showing out of track order on iPad now - this is a real treat for live concert albums especially. I will note that this is the case for both albums purchased from iTunes as well as copies of CDs I had already purchased and ripped but fixed their titles to sync with iTunes versions (that's another bone to pick that there should be a simple way to tell iTunes yes this is that album - so the in the store function works and album art is simply facilitated - they loose sales daily from the inability to hit in the store for CDs that you ripped from your purchased copies but that impulsive purchase that iTunes makes millions from is lost because most people do not spend the sometimes hours to link them back in)

I get the aesthetic that they were going with for iOS 7, and in most cases I think it works. iTunes is a mess. While yes I did like the visual album flip that has now been removed completely (but used in other ways or at least the style is now your safari pages on mobile) but the white is way too much most especially in the case of "currently playing" changing that mode from a great visual leaving the iPad playing playlists to an incredibly nasty stark light fixture. I do understand the design decision to make album covers appear smaller so that their retina screens are looking their best but I am hoping there is a way to chance the background in this mode. If not it has become completely useless to me and I am sure many others.
How do I fix this? Can I fix this?I ended up fixing my issue. The problem was the fact that some of the songs in an album were marked as part of a compilation, but some were not. iTunes seems to be less strict about grouping things in albums, so I never really noticed it.
However, this, combined with the fact that I could not update the metadata after the song is added to iCloud resulted in me changing the metadata on the computer, only to have it reset when I updated Match. I solved the problem by deleted everything from iCloud and rematching it, but only after I had corrected the compilation issue.
So, if you are havng the same issue, delete and readd everything to iCloud. I deleted everything from a second PC (that had no locally stored files) and then rematched from my laptop (where iTunes asked whether I wanted to add to iCloud, keep the song, or delete it. Choose "Add to iCloud" to rematch). -
Out of Order TV Shows in iPod Classic
Here's an interesting problem that's really more of an annoyance than a problem that I foolishly posted in the iTunes section and not in this one.
For some reason on my 80gig iPod when I go into the tv shows I have such as Jericho it'll list it as normal, meaning that it starts with the Pilot and then lists each subsequent episode in the order that they aired on tv.
Then I'll go into another tv show and when I come back to the Jericho playlist they're in reverse order meaning that the Season finale is the first one and the pilot is the last one on the list.
My question is is this a commonn occourance and what can I do to correct it? I've tried rebooting my iPod but the problem still happens. I've also tried deleting and re-adding my tv shows to no avail. Imported rolls from CDs show up out of order in Library!
I import my photos that I take on film and have had scanned to CDs. I just imported new rolls from CDs and they show up in my Library several rolls earlier from the ones that I imported yesterday. I had issues then w/ rolls being out of order as well. I have tried moving rolls by "batch changing" the date and or time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I am left with several rolls out of order. It is a mess. I can't seem to figure out how to control the order within my Library or change once imported.
Has anyone else had this problem? Know what I should do to solve? Prevent problems in the future? This didn't use to be an issue!

But I just discovered that if I don't have the track number listed in the Info section, that it gets out of order. I've manually changed a few and it has worked. Just wish I got it before it went into the system. -

why do my photos show up on my iPad out of order? I have them organized (by numerical sequence in their file name) and they synced up on my iPad in a random order...
On his iPad go to Settings>iCloud>Contacts>Off. When prompted to to keep the contacts on the device or delete them, choose the delete option and all of your contacts will be removed from his iPad.
Make sure that he is no longer signed into your Apple ID in the iCloud settings and the general settings. -
they show up that way on iTunes when connected to the Nano, (in numerical order) but on the Nano, they're out of order. The shake to shuttle is off.
I dragged and dropped it from my desktop to my Nano (through iTunes) and it all loaded in order...if I take it from iTunes, it syncs everything, not just one playlist....even though I choose only one playlist...
??? So you are manually managing your iPod's contents. i.e you drag and drop content onto your Nano from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.
What did you drag and drop?

Release Date not showing - episodes out of order?
Hi everyone!
I recently submitted a podcast for work and it was accepted yesterday. During testing, the order of the episodes were right based on the date they were released. However, checking the live version, the released column information is blank and the episodes are all out of order.
From what I understand, it's supposed to get that from the XML. For each item, we have: <pubDate>02 April 2014</pubDate> that did show up when we tested it directly.
Any thoughts? Thank you!Sorry, I guess I should have posted that information, haha.

Slideshows show photos out of order
Hi there
I have an Apple TV and looking at my slideshows, my photos are displayed out of order. I renamed all the files so they are in the sequence I want, however that made no difference.
Seems as though the Apple TV is showing the files in order of the time the shots were taking which is not what I want given the re-naming process I went through.
Any ideas?

Seriously, I've tried and failed here. I have no clue how the thing decides what order to show pictures, I don't think it's necessarily in the order I shot them in.. it's more likely the order they get copied over by iTunes. So maybe uploading your photos 1 at a time will enforce a specific order.
Since there's no way for Apple to monetize your personal photos, I don't think they are really interested in developing that part of the software as well as they do for the movie rental and itunes store portions. I've had this device for almost 2 years now and pretty much only the parts that they use to sell me stuff have been improved in that time.
Personally I'm about ready to convert my iTV into a doorstop. -
ITunes TV Shows are out of order in iPhone tab.
I've been importing a TV Show Season from DVD into iTunes so I can watch the TV show on my iPhone at the gym. Everything works well, the TV shows are imported, I enter the meta-data for each show, title, episode #, etc.... When I look at my TV shows in the TV Shows tab in the side bar, they are all listed in order by episode number. Yet when I go to the iPhone tab in the sidebar, and the select the TV Shows tab to try and sync, all of the episodes are random and in no particular order at all. Maybe I'm just being OCD about it, but I want to watch the seasons in order and now I have no way to do this? Anyone have any thoughts?
ThanksJust discovered your post, I made a similar post with the same problem, only concerning Podcasts and not TV Shows. I don't think you're being OCD about it at all. It's only logical to expect that if you can put the songs of a music album in a certain order and listen to them that way, that you should be able to do the same with a TV show or Podcast series.
Check to make sure all of the following are set:
Info tab: Track number
Video tab: Show, Season Number, Episode ID, Episode Number
The TV shows on my iPod are in the correct order, but the Podcasts are not. Unexpectedly, I think it may be the Track number from the info tab that keeps them in order. I just removed the track number from an episode and it went out of order.

My server is NOES2 with GW 7.0.4 Server. GW Client is 7.0.4.
I have one user that whenever new emails come into their inbox the emails show up at the bottom of their que instead of the top of the que. If the user then switches to their sent items and then back to their inbox the email that was out of order then shows up in its proper place. This only happens to one user and it does not matter which computer the user logs on to.efrance wrote:

I have seen this happen if a user has a "filter" on the mailbox for some reason.
Also, perhaps check to see what the display options are for the mailbox. Is it
just "details"? Or perhaps something like "Checklist"?

All my photos are importing out of order. For example, if I have images 1,2,3, and 4.., the order they show up in is 2,1,4,3. What could cause this and any ideas how I fix it?
One thing, don;t think of them as being imported in any one particular order.
The order of the images is completely fluid, you can change it anytime you want to suit your needs at that particular moment.
As Léonie showed you select the order you want to see the images in by selecting the item you want to sort on in the pull-down.
The only time fluid sort order can be a problem is when you export groups of images. If you put the images into a particular order in Aperture when you export them and view them in the Finder the order they are in may very well be different. In this case you could give names to the images that include a sequence number or index.
Then when they are viewd in the Finder they will be in them same order they were in in Aperture.

ITunes 9 sorting Album by Artist shows multi-cd albums out of order now

This has worked before in every version of iTunes I have used. iTunes 9 now lists my multi-cd albums' tracks out of order. For instance, it lists them as track 1 of disc 1, then track 1 of disc 2, then track 2 of disc 2.
It used to list them correctly as Disc 1 of 2, track 1-x and then disc 2 of 2, track 1-x, in that order. Why did they break a perfectly good thing?
I use 'list view' and sort by 'Album by Artist', anything else my my huge library just slows it to a crawl.I'm in the same boat. I always use Album by Artist.
My work around for now is to add the Album Artist field to the library list and sort on that field. It seems to work ok.
I'm able to edit my post ok here.
I see that my solution only works if I've put in the album artist. Other wise, they go to the obttom of the list as "Unknown". This shines a spotlight where I haven't put in Album Artist so I will now work on cleaning that up.
I hope they can fix this quickly.
