TV sideways (portrait), iPad portrait, HDMI out - can this work?

I'm using either VGA adapter or HDMI adapter ... with iPad 3.
I'd like to get my TV (which I rotate 90 degrees so that it's effectively a 'portrait' display) to display iPad as shown below (iPad held portrait, TV effectively portrait):
(attached is a photo of a 'mock-up' of what I hope to do)
Can this be done?
I usually get this instead (which I *don't* want):
I want to get the FIRST image (top of this note), not the 2nd.  I want to maximize the size
of the iPad display, by rotating my TV to be in the same orientation as my iPad is held (portrait).
Any help/ideas?
Thanks!
Jim

I have my desktop (HD6950 GPU, so also XvBA) and AD10 set up like that. It's pure luxury (and it will make a lot of people's jaws drop ). I stop a movie or an ep on my TV, i go to my bedroom and pick up where I left on my desktop.
Yeah, I've read about this . But I'm (actually, will be when I move ) living in a small apartment (30m^2) so it's really not needed - I plan on watching movies on my TV, not the computer that will be a few meters away .
I do, however, have all my fanart/cover art/etc. saved locally on the disk with the media, makes scraping so much faster and easier

  • Macbook Pro 2011 DVI HDMI out does not work with TV when the power cable is connected

My Macbook Pro (Early 2011) DVI HDMI out does not work with TV when the power cable is connected. If get the blue screen and then can use the macbook but nothing is displayed on the TV. If i go into display I can see that there are two screens but nothing displayed on the TV. If i take the power cable out at this point the TV shows the second desktop as expected. If i then reconnect the cable, the screen flickers, as though it is being affected by the power cable, and the screen goes blank on the TV. Only if i remove the DVI cable do i get the blue screen again. If i remove the power cable and reconnect it will do it every single time, so i cannot see it being a TV issue or a minor glitch.
I have had this working previously but at the minute it seems to not be playing ball....any thoughts
    Thanks

  • My sony video camera has HDMI out - can I download direct into MBP using dhmi

Is it possible to download direct from video camera with HDMI out to Macbook Pro 15" HDMI in.

HDMI out is only suitable to connect to a display.
Current Macs do not have raw-Video inputs. Use USB or FireWire.

  • Find_report_object('rp2rro') how can this work?

    Hi
I've spent a long time looking thru metalink (now Support) at the various posts and documents on calling reports from forms using the run_report_object that the translator replaces run_product with, and here and I'm frankly still looking for direction .
This code is in rp2rro.pll and of course dies, as there is no rp2rro report
    rp2rroNodeId                Report_Object     :=find_report_object('rp2rro');
I have a menu that calls something called execute_report with just a report name (e.g. end_month_report). execute_report is in a user library and contains a call to rp2rrro. It looks like this
    PROCEDURE execute_report(i_report IN VARCHAR2) IS
-- Code modified by the Forms Migration Assistant
    -- 11-Jan-2011 01:58 PM
    BEGIN
    SET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(CURSOR_STYLE, 'BUSY');
    RP2RRO.RP2RRO_RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS, i_report, SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM);
    SET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(CURSOR_STYLE, 'DEFAULT');
    END;
Can anyone suggest a way to make this work without modifying the forms?
Looking at Rp2rro, it uses rp2rroNodeId throughout..
    Thanks for any suggestions

Well almost a year later, the dummy form solution has been working well with 11GR1, but I have some issues understanding how to make the dummy form call reports using parameters passed in the rp2rro call using this approach
If a form calls the dummy form with a parameter list containing e.g. start_date, end_date etc then the problem is that the dummy form doesn't have those parameters defined because it can be called from many different forms each with its own set of parameters.
As I read in the 6i doc "+When passing the default parameter list as well as any other parameter list, make sure that every parameter exists with the same name in the called form"+ which doesn't work as the dummy form doesn't have those parameters defined.
I'm trying to centralize all the rp2rro report invocations so that developers don't have to add the web.show_document and the hidden values and the rest of that logic to bring a PDF form back into the web browser
I'm trying out a number of things but would be interested if anyone has any comments..

  • IPad 1 hdmi out to iMac 27" (pre T'Bolt) mdp in

    Hi,
Is it possible to get the video out (eg, photo slideshow, BBC iPlayer, etc.) from an iPad 1 or iPhone 4 showing on a 27" iMac in Target Display Mode?
I've been able to display stuff from my laptop via dvi out through a Dr Bott digital video link, but I can't get the hdmi connection to work.
Thanks in advance and all the best,
    David

OK, I found 3 alternatives on Amazon:
    Atlona AT-DP400 (about $100): http://www.amazon.com/ATLONA-AT-DP400-Dual-DisplayPort-Converter/dp/B003CWEXWO/
    Belkin AV360 (about $100): http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AV360-Mini-DisplayPort-Converter/dp/B00477ORBK
    Kanex XD (about $75): http://www.amazon.com/Kanex-HDMI-Mini-DisplayPort-Converter/dp/B003LGOWNQ
The Atlona runs at full resolution but won't pass through audio and would require a HDMI to DVI converter

  • IPad 2 hdmi connector no longer works with iOS 7.3

Hi any one else had this issue? I have always connected my iPad 2 to my tv via a apple made hdmi connector, used mainly for fils on netflix eat. Since firmware updated to 7.3 this no longer works. Is this anther apple issue? My wife has an iPad 3, pre lightening and the "official" adapter has never works just get a message that states the attached accessory is not supported.... Any ideas anyone???

I have an ipad 2 running ios 6.0.1 and an older Dell TV (1080i) and have always been able to mirror.  Running ios 5 the mirroring worked perfectly for sound and video.  Don't remember if I tried while running 5.1.  Now that I have 6.0.1, I can still mirror, but the whole screen is pink on this Dell TV.  When I make the connection from ipad to the tv, mirroring starts immediately and the notification bar on the ipad home screen pulsates from blue to black and the cable is detected.  I have sound and video working fine except for the colors.  The ipad detects the AV Composite cable under settings>about but there is no TV out setting under General Settings where I'm supposed to see TV OUT listed under iTunes Wi-Fi sync.  I have changed the hdmi to a new one, but it didn't help.  I also have a new Panasonic Viera tv and everything (with the same cables) works perfectly on that TV.  Leads me to believe it's an issue with the TV OUT function of the ipad.  I don't know if any of this is helfpul information, but I thought it might help you narrow down what is going on with your setup.

  • IPad 2 HDMI output no longer works since iOS 6 was installed

    Hi everyone,
    I need some help here,
I have a pretty old HD TV equipped with HDMI input ports, I was able to use my iPad 2 to do Video mirroring or anything else for that matter while the iPad 2 was operation with iOS 5.1.1, since I upgraded to the iOS 6 I'm no longer able to see the ipad home screen or videos like, Netflix, YouTube, basically anything my ipad was displaying, not my TV doesn't even detects a signal.
Are there any useful information that yous can share, I'm going crazy here as my two young kids want to watch their favorite show on Netflix through the big TV.
This has caused some discomfort and I wish I can find some help to fix it.
    I appreciate your help.

  • IPad 2 hdmi mirroring doesn't work for videos

Ok, am I the only one who can't get the display mirroring to work on iPad 2? I plugged the hdmi adapter in to the iPad and got the Home screen to mirror, but when I played a video using the 'Videos' app the video displayed on my tv, but not on the iPad. iPad just showed a message 'your video is playing on your tv, (paraphrase). I would appreciate any help.

Ok folks. Here was my deal. After trying my AV adapter unsuccessfully on 3 different hdtv's, I decided to take my HDMI adapter back to the Apple Store today. They swapped it out, no problems. Now, I simply plug in the HDMI cable to the adapter then the adapter to the iPad and voila - mirroring works. Upon further investigation (asking the dude at the Apple Store), there was a bad batch of the AV-HDMI adapters.
So if ur having problems, consider swapping your adapter out.
    Good luck!

  • I keep trying to sync things among my MacBook Pro, iPAD, and iPhone.  Usually this works fine for a few days, but then I notice that the calendars aren't syncing and the "notes" aren't syncing.  How can I get them all to stay in sync?

I have a MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2.
    I have an iPad 2 running 8.1.3
I have an iPhone 6 Plus running 8.1.1
I have my Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes set up to sync over iCloud among the three devices.
I haven't had a problem with the Mail or Contacts syncing (at least not as far as I know), but the Notes and the Calendars don't seem to stay sync'd up.  I will notice that they aren't sync'ing, will delete and re-sync and they are fine for a while, but inevitably they stop sync'ing at some point.  This has been true through earlier incarnations of operating systems, so not something new.
How can I get them to sync and stay sync'd?

There used to be a tab under Itunes that allowed you to select to sync things like calendar, notes etc. but this is no longer there, can anyone help?
This was removed in 10.9.  You may have better luck getting assistance in the relevant Mac forum.

I have trawled the web to no avail.
I can no longer project the laptop screen to my plasma,
I have tried the Win + P buttons and nothing happens, turned on amd off with the hdmi cable connected etc.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Palacio
So you upgraded the system to Win 8.1 as mentioned here:
    http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/
From my point of view some of the Win 8.1 drivers are either missing, not upgraded or not installed properly.
Check this driver installation order and update the drivers if essential:
    Intel Wireless Display - Uninstall
    2 Windows 8.1 update - Install
3 TOSHIBA Desktop Assist - Upgrade
4 Intel Display Driver - Upgrade

  • Exception Message "15" - push out -  can this be done automatically?

We have an unusually high number of exception messages in the queues as a result of all of the inventory reduction actions that have been taken recently.  I am looking for an efficient way to u201Cautomaticallyu201D process type u201C15u201D (push out) exception messages.  Does anyone know of a way to set up SAP so that these schedule changes go directly to the supplier without the need for buyers to hit keys?
    thank you
    althea

    Hi,
I don't think you can postpone purchase orders automatically.
Please understand that you are speaking about external documents and you have to buy the goods (you are liable for buying the goods) on that day which is in the PO. You can only postpone them if your suppliers consent to your change request.
So, you have to negotiate with each of the related suppliers....

  • Extrememusic for input (optical) and Onboard audio for output (HDMI). Can this be do

I have a MB with onboard SPDIF for HDMI. When I install my extrememusic card it takes over and doesn't allow HDMI audio output anymore. But I want the extrememusic card for digital audio input (video capture) And the onboard audio for the SPDIFoutput (HDMI). Is there a way to use both the card and the onboard audio for these purposes?

It's quite hard to advice without having the equal system in hands.
Which one you have set to be as the preferred playback device and preferred recording device in system audio settings? Maybe onboard for playback and X-Fi for recording is maybe the way to go but, I can't say if this changes anything there?
X-Fi also has Audio Creation Mode which is maybe the best for this type input connection ... use bit-matched mode if possible and ASIO.
Depends on what you want to do there but, there are also some software you could use for to route signal from one card into other if this would be a sort of resolution (Virtual Audio Cable/Repeteater and Velbac comes into mind ... you should find links for these by searching this forum).

  • Accessory not supported by ipad - ipad2 HDMI connector will not work with ipad (4th gen)

I am a bit frustrated with the fact that I purchased all of the adapters/connectors for my iPad 2 back in the day -  and now all are pretty much worthless with the iPad (4th gen.)
The iPad g4 uses the new lightning connector. OK. So, I bought the updated adapter (lightning to 30 pin). HOWEVER, it does not allow the Apple HDMI connector to work... "This accessory is not supported by iPad"
I have to buy yet ANOTHER adapter: the Lightning Digital AV Adapter, and drop $49.00???
    RIDICULOUS!
