TV Tuner For MacBook HELP!

im looking to use my mac as a tv on my travels, i use the train alot to travel the country and need a good tv tuner to watch tv while traveling on trains ect, can anyone help me with a good tuner that will work on trains and on the move. cheers.

However, while the train moves, it is not uncommon to have reception issues, because of surrounding terrain. Satellite TV for instance requires a steady line of sight view of a satellite that is on geosynchronous orbit. Any movement will cause it to go out of sync.
While TV radio waves can go through houses and trains, they may not go well through miniral rich soils on obstructing hills. Other radio signals on overlapping waves may interfere with reception as well. TV trucks probably have the best on the move technology available, and you've seen what their antennas look like. Your train would have to be outfitted with the same if you wanted something anywhere near 100% reliable. Better to hope for train based internet service to be reliable, and ask your TV stations to stream their video signal over the internet.

I was looking into getting a tv tuner for my macbook. I have read alot of reviews about a couple products. I have seen both good and bad. Has anyone had success with a certain one? What one do you think is the best?

I use Elgato's Hybrid. Works great, allows you to record, edit and export to various formats. You can also capture the video from VHS/DVDs and burn to DVD with built-in Toast. A little bit bigger then a thumbdrive with a USB plug.

TV tuner for macbook

Is elgato hybrid or miglia tv tuners are compatible with macbook? Macbook including mine has a very low audio volume. If I will buy one of the tv tuner, what is the best approach to increase the volume when I watch the tv? Is there additional device that a need to buy beside the tv tuner to hear a decent tv sounds?

You shouldn't need an amp. Even cheap speakers will sound better than the MacBook's for volume. I don't own any portable speakers, so I can't recommend any. But as far as headphones go, I think the Shure E3C sound great.

I had a 640GB HDD in my Early 2008 Macbook and it was just too much it would always freeze up the computer a bit for only a few seconds but ya. Then I realized that it was the size of the HDD that was causing it since the Early 2008 Macbook models can only handle a MAX od 500GB while the Early 2008 Macbook Pros could have a MAX of 640GB (Lucked out there!) lol But ya the Early 2008 Mocbooks can only handle a MAX HDD size of 500GB and that's it!! lol

I've Macbook pro erly 2011 and i've two adapter mdp to hdmi, one moshi and one sqp, all two not work,
I brought my mac in three centers approved in a apple store, but was not detected any hardware problem, before I had already triedtwo other adapters, but no one has ever worked with the graphics card amd 6490m. someone managed to use the adapter on amacbook pro 8.2 with this configuration:

I tried all combinations, with a power cord plugged in, starting with only board amd, intel sole use of the graphics card viagfxcardstatus, no result on the screen is still no signal, for additional information I connect a LED cinema display and it works,vga adapter and it works, the last test I performed was with a Minidisplay port to dvi to hdmi no signal but same result. I also made pram reset smc removed and put back the ram the same result. I hope someone has solved this problem, if someone has the same problem I could write to apple for a check on these models ofMacBook with 6490m graphics card amd. thanks for the help theygive me. Third party security software is better at causing problems then it is at solving them.
I recommend against them.
If you felt it is necessary then configure the firwall software included with OS X.

Seems for me a bit 'fishy', isn't it? - other professional plug-in makers deliver with an installer... That advice at AppStore, how to install it, is ... rare:
How install it ? – click the launch button. Motion 5 will start itself. When Motion is open click save as. Write a generator name - Lens Flare and choose category RGB HOUSE or make it. Click Publish and you are done. If you don’t have Motion 5 look at support site - how to install in FCP.
How it works ? – In Final Cut Pro you will find in Generators RGB HOUSE group, where will be Lens Flare. Drag this generator above all clips in timeline. When it’s there remember to change blending mode to Screen (in video section). You can adjust color, steak color, glow, intensity, scale - apacity and blur of artifacts, position. Help! external disk reader for macbook pro

Hi guys, I really need some help.
Ive got a 2008 MacBook Pro - V 10.5.8 MacBookPro4,1 using Leopard.
The internal superdrive is completely ruined, It hasnt worked for a long time, though Ive not really needed to use it. However I deperately need to update my system version and have a copy of Snow Leopard on disk ready to go and get updated.
Because my internal superdrive isnt working and I'm out of warranty, do you guys know of an external drive that will work for me? Im going out of my mind here after the guy in the Apple store pushed me into buying an external superdrive which doesnt even work with my MacBook!! (it'll only work with macbook Airs or newer macs without inbuilt superdrives)!!!!
Please help if you can, Im happy to get a 3rd party drive aslong as it will read the update disk.

You can pickup any 1TB USB powered drive for about $100 at just about any local office supply store.
It comes formatted FAT32 (MSDOS) for reading by OS X and Windows PC's.
However if your files sizes are going to be larger than 4GB in size (like video tends to be) then your going to need to select the drive in OS X's Disk utility (in the Applicaitons > Utilities folder) and format the drive exFAT instead.
exFAT is a drive format that 10.6.5 and later Mac's, Windows Vista and 7 machines can read just fine. XP machines need a free exFAT drive install from Microsoft.
Do backup the 1TB to another 1TB drive using Carbon Copy Cloner or another backkup utility because 1TB is a lot of data to lose on a $100 drive.
I don't advise the "port powered" USB drive as these tend to have power issues and with 1TB of data on it, very risky. Use a powered drive if you can all help it.

Sorry, I can't. I have tried to google it for quite a while but not found it. I don't think I will spend my sunday evening trying to figure out how to make that song.
From the youtube video, it sounds like the start out note is somwhere around a C#, but I don't think we are talking the standard A 440 mhz... tuning.. Though that's not the most important part. The intervals will define the tune. It sounds like some of the notes are in between. So if your 3310 can only make "clear" notes with a half step movement, I don't think it's possible make it sound good.
Then you might just start out with a random note and try out notes below from that point.

Elgato's EyeTV 400, no longer produced, worked with iMac 800 Mhz. Just a note, your machine is a bare minimum for video conversion to compressed formats. You may get choppy video. I would seriously consider upgrading to at least an iMac G5 1.8 Ghz, if not an Intel Core2Duo iMac.
