I bought tv tuner and had to send it back to the store because my laptop has only two USBs... I managed to plug the TV tuner usb in my laptop and there's another usb for remote control receiver to plug in.... no room to plug 2nd usb in..... I am not gonna another stuff... I realized too much wires... I have to connect tv tuner with my tv cable wire.

I have an HP Pavilion dv4-1222nr Entertainment Notebook PC running Windows Vista that currently cannot find a bootable disc. I am trying to buy a recovery disc using HP's support options but the search never finishes. It states to let it run for 3 minutes but it runs for hours without returning results/no results. I see that you are having problems with the recovery disc creation on your HP computer.
I would suggest contacting HP support and telling them what is happening so that you can get some options for recovery media.

I need the correct driver for an infrared remote control (ENE CIR receiver) for Pavilion DV4-2173nr.
The receiver that came with my notebook is a black model one (see picture below), with the following information in its bottom label:

I never managed to make it work, from the very beginning. I know it is working, because I replaced the battery for a brand new one and it shows a blinking IR LED when I press any button and point it to a digital camera.
Searching for "ENE CIR receiver driver" is useless 'cause I received more than one hundred answers - I tried four of them but none worked so far.
So, instead of trying the whole bunch, I am crying for help - could someone please tell me which driver is the correct one for this remote model?

I have purchased a DV4 1412tu series laptop almost a 3 year back in india. Now i wants to replace my battery but dont know why i am not getting any battery woth the same ratting. Please advice me with which HP genuine battery should i replace my current battery?

Will it affect my hardware if i goes with some other rattings? i mean i am getting batteries for DV4 from HP with 44oomAh. Is it so that rattings country based?

Cpu upgrades for dv4-1222nr; also confirm that caps-lock/num-lock repeated flashing is cpu failure

1) What CPUs can I interchange in the dv4-1222nr? It comes with the amd rm-72
2) won't boot - fan powers up then powers down, then waits approx 12 sec, then caps lock & num lock flash approximately every two seconds. I interpret this as repeated flashing of one, but it keeps flashing.... diagnostic document says it's supposed to repeat only 6 times.
Scenario: Closed the laptop lid, which caused it to go to sleep, but this time it never awoke!. Fan has been grinding but still worked, however upon dissasembly discovered the heatsink was partially plugged. ALWAYS RAN HOT DUE TO POOR DESIGN. It was a hot day, and closing the lid actually increases the temperature.
3) I presume, and I am pretty sure about this, that this laptop has no thermal shutdown threshold, i.e. shuts down automatically when it gets too hot. Every desktop motherboard I've seen allows thermal limits to be set. Another fail.

I'm working on a friends computer that has forgotten their BIOS password.... it's an HP Pavilion dv4-1283cl and generates a "System Disable Key: 620705680"
Any suggestions on how to reset it?

Can anyone please tell me if my HP Pavilion dv4-1211tu Entertainment Notebook PC has an integrated tv tunercard with it.

I don't believe that your model has a built-in tuner. It is easy to identify a built-in tuner, if a notebook is equipped with one you will see a very small golden pin connector on the side of the unit. The gold connector looks almost like a very small headphone jack, but gold. Touchpad doesn't work - HP Pavilion DV4 - 2120ca

Touchpad doesn't work after cleaning out the dust collection in the fan, heat sink area. New Therma paste was applied.
Both the keyboard & touchpad were the 2 things that didn't work following reassembly. The keyboard didn't work but able to use USB wireless mouse. Couple days ago the replacement battery finally arrived, installed and charged for 12 hours. After restart, the keyboard works as it should.
Unfortunately, touchpad still doesn't work. The light switch above the touchpad works, clicking on it turns white & amber but any movement scrolling doesn't work.
We tried the following, but unsuccessful
double tapping top left corner
Hard Reset
Uninstalled ALPS & Synaptics -- reinstalled , restarted
Updated Windows, HP, BIOS, Drivers
Don't recall during reassembly if touchpad has a cable or connector. If so, perhaps worth try to disconnect & reconnect to ensure correct connection.
What do u advise to try next?

Did you connect the ribbon cable for the Touchpad. Often times there is one for the keyboard and one for the touchpad separately. Hopefully you have not damaged the ribbon cable. Just make sure you push it all the way in and seat it properly.

HP Pavilion dv4-2170us - more heat and lound sound

Not sure whats happening with my laptop HP Pavilion dv4-2170us windows 7 home premium...
More heating and loud sound / noise.

Please update the latest BIOS for your notebook from the support and driver download page on hp.com.
