As I tried to double check the Toshiba website there is no Toshiba laptop's that has built-in TV tuner.

I hav a HP pavilion Entertainment notebook Dv6-1211AX.
it does not have tv tunner card. but it has a empty slot for it,it also has a empty antina slot near usb slot. Notebook of same catagories were having it (like sub-model, some dv6 1121"TX" were having it).
i wana intall it, plz help me how can i install it.
will hp do that, if so wat would be the cost of that......plz help....

Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

Then Apply. For 10.5/10.6 Network, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.
DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.

How to acquire video from PCI TV tunner card in Labview

Hello Guys,
I am a new commer in this fourm and this is my first post.
I am working on a project where i need to acquire analog video into labview 8.5 for this purpose i have a analog security camera and PCI TV tunner card (Manufactured by ASUS) and i built the routine in Matlab 2007 and its working(But not satisfying me).
I am very keen to watch live video stream in Labview so in this regard i need your help .

First Mathscript is NOT Matlab. It is a National Instruments implementation resembling Matlab. As such it does not and can not make use of Matlab Toolboxes at all.
Second though not directly related to this. Looking at http://www.mathworks.com/products/imaq/supportedio.html I see that they support a list of specific frame grabber manufacturers and Video for Windows, but not Direct X. So my previous assumption was wrong. What they most likely do in their IMAQ Toolbox is to implement a driver interface to each manufacturer specific API. This is 100% true for the National Instruments boards since NI-IMAQ or IMAQdx is the only means to access them respectively. So I guess they simply interface to the frame grabber manufacturer provided DLLs which you can do of course too in LabVIEW but NI won't do for you since they sell their own frame grabber hardware.
www.alliancevision.com is a first interesting check to see if you can buy LabVIEW drivers for a particular brand of frame grabber. Many have in the past thought they could quickly put together a frame grabber interface for some hardware by playing around with the Call Library Node to interface to the manufacturer DLLs, but that is serious software business and buying a driver interface is a lot more effective time and economy ways for most people.

ATI TV Tunner not working on an MSI KT4 V ( MSI 6712)

I've bought 2 weeks ago a MSI card( MSI K3 V Ultra) (MSI 6712) . I have an AMD Athlon 2200+ , 512 DDR PC 2700
Well i have problems with an ATI TV Tunner (ATI TV WONDER) that doesn't work.
I instaled the ATI sofware ,drivers corectlly and the ATI software doesnt recognize my CPU at all , it sais i have no system ram ...etc and the tunner is not working.
I've installed everything corectlly : drivers , software..etc
From ATI support team i received an email saying to update my bios...so i did(to the latest version) ...but it isn't working at all :( :O

Qosmio G30-176: TV tunner issue - blurred without any sounds

I from the seychelles and we use a Pal System similar to that in the UK, but I cannot tune the TV Tuner.
It always comes out blurred without any sounds.
Can somebody please help?

As far as I know the TV Tuner is specific to the country in which the notebook is purchased.
This is obvious in the case of PAL (European standard) versus NTSC (North American standard) but also relates to variances in the PAL standard that can be found across those countries that use this for their television broadcasts.
The Microsoft Windows Media Centre Edition operating system is only setup for use within the country in which the notebook was purchased.
This setup relates to functions such as obtaining the Electronic Programme Guide via the Internet.
Possibly the PAL system is simialr to the UK one but it's NOT the same.
This cold be a reason for the blurred TV channels without sound.

180: TV tunner sound problem

I got the AverTV Tv card (I got it because it was one of the only cards without FM radio) instead of the MSI one, I couldn't find the MSI one anywhere it was hard enough figuring out which card was the one for the mega-pc. The problem with the one I got is that the audio is connected up outside the case by using the line in on the onboard sound and I need that for me speakers. Is that common with TV cards? would the MSI one be any better? Is there any workaround for the card I have?
I have some problems with MC3 too, It won't go fully full screen. Theres a strip down the right hand side where I can see the desktop and the taskbar stays on screen. when the app is maximised. The other problem is I'am only getting half the channels. In Rep. Ireland we get all the British channels made for N. Ireland and all these have disapeared under MC3. They work under the AverTV software. I'am sure if I switched the country to UK I'd get them. The whole TV section seemed very basic I couldn't tune channels manually.
Can anyone recommend some really good media centre software?
The Mpc is a big difference from all the Dells I've had up till now but worth the headaches.

It is indeed not uncommon for a (budget) TV card to loop the audio signal outside to the line-in of your audio card and having no internal connector. However, mostly moer expensive cards are based on a budget model. There is a possibility that although the plastic clip is not present, the (4) metal connections are. Mostly they can be found right behind the metal tuner box, look for descriptive text. In case there is an unused connector, soldering the bare wires of an internal audiocable to it would suffice.
If you cannot find any connector, or don't know where to look for; take a detailed close-up picture (or put the card on a flatbed scanner) and post the image. This way I can try to have another look at it.

TV Tunner cable connector for Antenna

I recently received a Lenovo All-In-One PC model 3000 C315. The Windows7 Device Manager shows "AverMedia A317 Mini-Card Hybrid Analog/ATSC" device. The TV Tuner connector is not the normal coaxial f-type. It is smaller. What type of cable connector fits this TV Tuner?

I have exactly the same issue with my C315 computer. No cable to attach to the proprietary input so I can hook up coax. I have spent over 4 hours on the phone setting up a return and then ordering a replacement after being told I can not get the part separately. Well the new C315 came with no cable and now my salesman is trying to hunt down the cable. This is a problem with fulfillment on the Lenovo end. If you see the review of the C315 on the PCMag website you can clearly see what the cable is supposed to look like. If you see the review at Techspot in the comments section they mentioned their review unit did not come with a cable either, but they contacted Lenovo and was able to receive the cable. I have attempted several times to get through their first line of defense on their call center and finally got to sales where they are attempting to find me the cable. If they don't, I have no other choice than to return it. Can not watch TV without that $5 cable (at most). I am still being told that they do not ship the cable with the PC and you have to order it...problem is, no one can find the part number for the darn thing. Very Frustrated.

In OS X 10.4.10 Air tunnes and other stuff takes longer to connect

Since I upgraded to OS X 10.4.x everything that is wireless takes longer to connect. For example iTunes takes like 13sec. to connect to the Airport Express. My Logitech bluetooth mouse takes like 17sec. to reconnect when it looses signal. And in Safari when I am listening to audio samples in Amazon.com it's like 1992 again it takes 20sec. to hear a 30sec. sample. All of this used to be much faster in OS X 10.3.9.
Does anyone notice this, and if so, is there a way to make things a little bit snappier?

Try doing a power cycle.
Shut all the computers, routers, airports, expresses...turn them off.
Wait a few minutes, then turn on again:
modem first, then router, then expresses, then computers.
This may not be the complete fix, but it may help the network sluggishness.

Has Anyone gotten the HP USB Tunner (KS523AA) to work on a Sandy Bridge Laptop (DV7-4290us)

Just Wondering what the heck the deal is. I have two older DV7s that do work with their TV Tuner But this new one is driving me nuts. I also noticed that it appears HP has changed MediaSmart in that on the two older laptops the module/program that is used to watch/record live TV is called MediaSmart Live TV. On this new laptop the Module appears to be MediaSmart Movies and TV. So I was also wondering if anyone with a Windows 7 Home Premium has gotten the MediaSmart Movies and TV program to work with the KS523AA tuner.
Since this is one of the Sandy Bridge laptops (with the Intel Chip problem I may end up returning the entire laptop) so has anyone gotten the KS523AA working on either a DV7-4280us or an Envy 17-1190NR

Help!! Oracle 8.1.7 on RedHat 6.2

Dear all,
When I setup the Oracle 817 on RedHat 6.2, I can only have two connection from other machine with the SqlPlus. There is anybody got this condition? and solution?

ok i had installed on 2.2.16 y 2.2.18.
if u want to make a kernel update what you should do is to get the new kerner in www.kernel.org and before to do it , you should installed (i.e
cd /usr/src/
rm /usr/src/linux -rf
tar -zxvf kernel2.2.18.tar.gz
go to startx and open a Terminal as a root
make xconfig (to tunne your system)
make bzlilo
your kernel is update?
