[TV5200] TV Tuner; No Signal Found TV5200-VTDF128NTSC (MS-8928)

Folks,
After spending numerous hours on multiple tech forums and finding no answers, I decided to post my own question Here goes:
I have an MSI TV5200 VTDF128NTSC with the MS8928 Chipset. I will list my current system config below my post. When I purchased this card I was running MS XP Pro v2002, w/o SP1. I have the bundled MSIPVS software which worked to get my cable signal well. As soon as I installed SP1 and DirectX 9.0c, MSIPVS would reboot my computer upon launching...which to say the least was frustrating. I scoured the internet for new WDM drivers for the A/V Crossbar, TV Tuner ETC, and was able to finally get it working again. After getting a couple more updates about 2 weeks ago I went to use my MSIPVS program again. To this day I have not been able to get a cable signal. Here are the steps I have taken:
1) D/L'd MSI's most recent driver at the time, version 2.2.6.0 This did fix my reboot problem, but then when in the setup options, when I selected cable as my TV input source, as soon as I clicked "apply" it would faulter, then go back to the default "antena" setting (no matter what county I Chose)
2)D/L'd the following Nvidia Drivers: 56.64, 61.76, 66.93, 71.84, and currently running the 71.89 drivers (mind you I have no other issues with my card except no TV Playback).
3) D/L'd MSIPVS 3.0 BETA2 (as per Stu's suggestion on another forum) Installed drivers on the FTP folder I believe were 3.0.1.6 This actually got me to where it would stay in cable mode, and autoscan for channles, however they were still all snow.
4) D/L'd MSI WDM Drivers verision 3.3.2.36 (this is the current installed driver) Still recieve no channels via cable TV.
5) Checked Cable signal on a small cable ready TV, worked fine, Made sure my settings for region were correct, NTSC-M, which were the settings by default for MSIPVS 2.0 when it worked a while back.
As you can see I have put a few hours into this problem, and now I am hoping you Tech savy people can aide me from here.
System Config as Follows: (Nothign is overclocked, all stock)
Asus A7N8X-X MB Bios Version 1010
AMD XP 2500, Slot A running @1.83 ghz
1.25 Gig PC266 Memory
60 Gig Wester Digital HDD
MSI TV5200 VTDF 128 Geforce Fx5200
On-board Nvidia Sound/Lan
Win XP Pro SP1, DirectX 9.0c

I have a very similiar setup with winxp pro sp2, I have had headache after headache.....but today I finally had a breakthrough!!!!! I had the Nvidia drivers version 7772 and kept getting a negative display. I had the msipvs version that was recommended by Stu, which cleared up a bunch of the mess. So I decide to go back to the Nvidia driver version 5663, and it fixed the problem with the negative display. I installed the WDM 2.26 VIVO-TV drivers and it all works like a champ. I have the issue with the msi radio not working, but I don't care much about that. I am having trouble with having video in from a composite type. I can't get video in, just keep getting a green/black flicker...will keep working with it though.
Has anyone had any experience with MediaPortal?
Or had any luck with Media Center Deluxe?

My S4 isn't letting me call or receive calls at all. It says that mobile network is not available. My internet still works fine, and my texts will still send but only after a message comes up that says no signal found for mobile networks. I've tried restarting it and nothing changes, and I took the battery out for about 5 mins and put it back in and nothing helped. Anyone have a solution? Please reply

Let's locate your missing signal! I would be frustrated as well if my device was not working properly. What error message do you hear when you place a call? What zipcode are you in? Is Mobile Networks turned on http://vz.to/19NeRCA? Is Global Roaming turned on as well? Keep me posted.

Some music and apps that I have downloaded from i-tunes "cannot be found" when trying to download them onto my ipod. Why is this happening when they are available on my computer?

Some music and apps that I have purchased and downloaded from i-tunes "cannot be found" when I try to put them on my i-pod. Why is this happening and what can I do about it?

In iTunes, select the audio book and righ click and select Get Info. Go to the options tab and click on Media kind and change it to Audiobook. It will then appear on the iPod under Audio books. On the iPod that is Muisc app>More>Audobooks.

My screen says no signal found

My screen says no signal found and I have tried another monitor and it says the same thing...any suggestions? Thanks

Most likely it's saying "No Signal Found" because it can't fond a signal... as in the cable may have a bad connection or the video board isn't sending a signal.
Check your cable; if it is correctly connected, try re-seating the video board. If none of that works, it's probably a dead video board but try the cable on a working system before you buy a new video board.

I-TUNES CANOT BE FOUND

I got Itunes last week and it worked fine untill today. When I clicked on to the icon to open Itunes,a window came up that said ("the folder "itunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The defaut location for the folder is inside the "mymusic" folder) None of my folders had been changed since I first got Itunes. I tried deleting Itunes and reloading it again,and even did the repair, but it still comes up with that window. CAN ANYBODY HELP?..tHANKS

SUCCESS!! Thank you so much for your help. The key was the holding the shift key down while clicking on the I tunes icon. After I did not find the library I went back to click on "make Library" and the I-tunes screen came on. I went to "file" at the top of the page, and clicked on "move folder to library" I went to the folder with the external hard drive(were my music files were) and clicked on that,I-tunes down loaded the songs. So somehow my I-tunes library was deleted,& thanks to your help I know what to do if it happens again. Every thing is working on I-tunes now...Thanks again...RAS

DVB-T TV Tuner - No channels found

Hi,
I was given a DVB-T TV tuner as a birthday tuner a couple of months ago and I'm having real problems getting it to work. It is the Toshiba one, product code PX1211E-1TVD.
I cannot get it to find any channels. I know that our area is covered by Digital signal, as I have checked online, and we also have digital television in a different part o the house. However, the signal is weak apparently, so we have had to have a signal booster fitted to our house. I can't understand then, why the program is not finding any channels.
Any ideas, anyone?!

I have the same hardware and the same problem before I moved to Glasgow. Now I have about 20 digital tv channels and some radio stations, picture is excellent, sound is excellent. The major difference/problem is signal reception - the little antennae is useless - I use a normal external ariel for a normal tv, no booster or anything. Occassionally my computer crashes, I think it is because of the Toshiba tv tuner & the software clashing with other software running in the background. Good luck trying to get a decent signal/reception and beware of your computer crashing if you do get it working!
P.S I recently visited Rep of Ireland and noted that there was practically no digital signals bar 2 radio stations in Dublin city!

No network signal found

I am at a guest house in France with a wireless router.. my husband is able to find and connect to the internet on his PC but my Mac book doesn't find the signal even when I am right beside the router...
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.. so embarrassing with all of my bragging on the superiority of my Mac...

Leopard is quite picky about routers, unfortunately. You want to make sure that the router's firmware is current. You'll have to visit the manufacturer's website for instructions for updating.

All of a sudden all my music purchased from i-tunes "cannot be found"

After 2 very frustrating evenings and a $135 bill from an IT tech I still can't play my purchased music.
I downloaded itunes 6.0.5.20 and suddenly all my purchased music is unavailable. It still resides on my ipod but when I click on it on my computer I get an error message stating:
The song "..." could not be used because the original could not be founf. Would you like to locate it?"
Simply put, I "can't locate it"!!!
Any insight or suggestions on how to fix this and get back my "Johnny Cash" music and other "faves" would be much appreciated

Did you or an other person throu to the recycling been the file by mistake?
I know that is stupid, but usualy I don't think about stupid thinks and I think a lot how to resolve the problem and It was maybe that I moved the folder. I mean, cheak just in case.

No video signal after Grub

Hi everyone,
my graphics card is ATI HD7850 and I am using the open source radeon driver.
I ran this setup for about a year without any flaws until I installed an SSD into my system. I copied the root (/) from my HDD to the SSD following this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fu … with_rsync
After I edited the files in /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/grub.cfg, and configured another boot order in my BIOS, I started Arch and everything ran fine. I then installed Windows to the SSD on another partition which also runs fine.
But when I tried to run Arch again I did not get a video signal right after Grub (monitor said no signal found). After hitting reset it worked again.
Now I need to try to boot Arch about 5 times until it works. Even a USB stick with a fresh Arch ISO from the download section fails to boot in about 4 of 5 attempts.
Windows starts without any errors and I can play video games just fine, so I don't think my graphics card is broken.
Does anybody have an idea what might be wrong? I am totally lost here.
Things I tried to do:
- Rebuild boot image with mkinitcpio
- Tried to start without dynamic power management for my graphics card

My hp external display is not found

Have been using HP w19b as an external monitor for almost a year. I have a 2009 (late) 27" imac and am running 10.8.2. My external monitor went to sleep and never woke up on Nov 11, 2012. I don't think there were any new updates on this date. Had been on 10.8.2 for a while??? When I go to preferences, it is as though it is not even connected. I unplugged and re-plugged all connections. The monitor is not broken, just goes to sleep because it is getting no signal from imac. What in the world. Please help. I need the screen real estate!!!! The connection is the mini display port? to AVG adapter...

thanks for the reply...unfortunately, I just did all of the above. I checked all connections, no external monitor appears in system preferences - displays, did a restart in safe mode, did a SMC reset and a pram reset. Still no monitor. So I unhooked mine, and tried my son's monitor - an hp 2009m. I restarted my imac and the screen on the monitor said scanning for signal, no signal found, going to sleep.
Is it possible that the adapter thing to my vga cable has gone bad. Is there a way to see if the port itself is functioning?
I was on the verge of buying a bigger external monitor, but don't want to now since I am scared it won't work.
Is anyone else having this problem???

Missing "i Tunes" folder

After I upgraded my PC to Windows 7 every time I attempt to open iTunes a message pops up saying "The folder "i Tunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder." No matter how many times I reinstall iTunes this message still pops up. I have checked my "Music" folder and there is a folder called "i Tunes." What can I do?

First check the permissions on the iTunes folder, this is the commenst reson for this error.
Your account should have full control.

No digital tv signal message

When i switched my tv on i got a message saying that there is no digital tv signal found. It had another message undeneath which gave me 5 minutes before the tv switched off. I couldn't move from this screen which means I cannot access settings to try and fix any problems myself. I have looked through the guide and online and this problem does not seem to come up. Any help is appreciated.

This sounds more of an issue with your televison rather than the YouView box.
How is your YouView connected to your TV - SCART or HDMI?
I assume that you have the aerial connected to the YouView box antenna-in. Do you also have the antenna-out on YouView connected to your TV's aerial connection?
Is this the first time you've had this issue?
Is the YouView box powered on?

I cannot transfer all of my i-tunes from my desktop PC to my laptop PC. Of about 800 tunes, it "cannot find" about 100. Where are they?

My itunes are stored on my desktop. When I move them to my laptop, about 100 of 900 tunes are "not found." Thus, I cannot upload them from my laptop to my i-pad.

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then drag or copy — do not type — into the Terminal window:
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Press return. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Cannot play songs in i Tunes

Hi ..and help...
In order to free up space for iMovie projects I did trash some I tunes files I found in my documents folder. I thought they were just titles of songs so I deleted them.
Anyway I did free up a lot of space but my entire iTunes library is not playable:says "cannot play because original file cannot be found."
Help - how to I try and get my music back in operation?

well unless you backed up your music files (the
actual files not the itunes files) then you really
can't get your music back. you'll have to
download/rip them again. If you were lucky enough for
them to be in your recycle bin you could restore the
files. but they are probably gone.
I do have them backed up on my 40GB iPod. So...can i dump them all back over?
