Tvcard

I'm Dao  Duy.  I'm from Vietnam.
I've read the information about the tv card "anywhere FM Master" at MSI webpage . I'm interested in it and I want to buy it. But in Vietnam I never seen it yet. I called to your company in Vietnam but they said they don't have it  .Can you support me in this case? Please  tell me clearly about it (about its sound:  stereo or mono? can it record  NTSC in AV-in, S-video? Does it have PIP(picture in picture ) function? can it record FM with shedule? how max of resolution can it capture with ? Can it display about its working mode  in monitor?  is the sound so late as picture? is the picture broken?
    Please tell me clearly.Thanks

Hi,
Is this the item you're after?:
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=460
the downloadable manual (PDF Format) may help.
Sorry Dao, this is a forum run by volunteers (not MSI employees) to give advice to people who need advice about MSI products they have already bought or are about to buy. You need to contact MSI directly for support.
You never know though - if anyone reading your post has any experience of the card you're after I'm sure they'll post the information you require. Anyway, good luck.

    DirectSoundAuto: Committed ok
    JavaSound Capture Supported = true
    JavaSoundAuto: Committed ok

    Querying device. Please wait...
at this point it is just stuck!
    Please help!
it happens with a webcam and also with a usb tvcard.

The problem is with XP. I tried to reinstall and it worked with the webcam but not with the TVcard. Now I don't understand who or what does it. any ideas?
I have the same problem that when I try to detect the camera in my java program it runs fine when i run it for the 1st time and detects the camera but when i run it again for the 2nd time windows loads a window which asks me to choose source device to capture. When i select the device and press OK i get an io error message saying "io error. An error has occurred. Check jmf.log for details."
However when i close eclipes(my java editor) and then reopen it and when i run the program again for the 1st time it runs fine and creats the datasource and everything but when i run it for the 2nd time i again get the same io error message. So everytime i have to close and reopen the eclipse.
    Please help

  • TVcard issue - no sound, LifeView FlyDVB Trio

i have problems with this tvcard, i tried analogTV with tvtime and FMradio with gnomeradio, and it seems the card is working, in tvtime i get video, gnomeradio tune some station, but i don't have sound.
i tried things from these wiki pages:
    http://linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Saa7134-alsa
    http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_saa7134
i think the problem can be in driver autodetection (looks all is ok) or in alsa
edit: i turn on all module debug options:

there are NO_DEVICE errors, but i look on card and there are two 8275a chips, then i think card=84 and tuner=54 is ok, now i really don't know what to do

Some times the video card drivers and software replace certain aspects of the sound drivers because the card needs to use the dll's that the sound cards utilize as well.
I had problems with my audigy 2 zs and an ati x850xt vid card
I had to unistall both items, put the video card in first, then the sound card and let the sound card overwrite or replace whatever the video card set up first.
Man that was a pain in the neck to figure out.
Also I am not sure that this is still an issue with PCIx but atleast with AGP cards the placement of the sound card was crucial as well in the mobo.
Certain slots shared the same irq paths
I had to put the video card in the agp slot but I had to skip down to pci slots for the sound.
Might try that just to see if it will help

  • Tvcard doesn't work on asus p2b

I'd like to use my tvcard (philips saa7134 chip)  on my asus p2b board, but it doesn't get recognized at all, it doesn't even show up in the pci device listing on boot. On other computers the card shows up in lspci and works fine.
I have this hardware in the computer:
    -aopen nvidia geforce4 ti4200 128mb
    -philips saa7134 tvcard
    -network card
I already tried switching the card to the first pci slot, played around with the irq assignments in bios, and did a bios update, but that didn't help..any ideas?

guess i found the issue... seems like saa7134 cards need pci 2.2, while the board supports only 2.1   http://www.mail-archive.com/arch@archli … 04277.html

  • Standard MSI tvcard for 180 problems!

    Help!
I don't seem to get any channel on my tv cards only thing i get is blue screens.
I installed everything and try to autoscan in media portal deluxe and i only get blue screens.
I am in holland and tryed every pal setting but it should be PAL_B (or not?) and i have cabel. It's also not the signal strength because i have crystal clear reception on my tv. I also have the problem that the s-video out only works while booting (it shows the windows xp logo in black and white) but when xp is loaded it dissapears again. But i guess this is due to a driver problem.
Can anybody give me any pointers for getting channels on my tv card?
    Anybody experienced this?
    Ronald

What do you mean by type of cable?
I already installed the beta drivers i found on these forums now i don't get just a blue screen (and i diddn't mean a BSOD) i get a lot of noise on the screen.
    But still it finds nothing.
The strange thing is i installed chris-tv and the normal channel scan also finds nothing but there is an option somewhere called something like tv tuner driver options with wich i also can scan and this one finds stations!!!!!!!! but i can not save them and if i type the mhz into the channel list it also doesn't display anything. I just don't get it. What am i doing wrong?
It finds something with that option but nothing the 'normal' way.
Anybody can help me out there before i kick my 180 out of the window?
    Ronald
ps: fixed the s-video problems with tv out. Just select it the right way with the driver

  • No TV sound - Problem with Pulseaudio and Gnome

    Hi Community!
Since January 2013 I got big problems with the sound of my tvcard. The card is a Sundtek Media TV Pro. But after all the problems have nothing to to with the card itself!
So far I found out, that the problem is with Pulseaudio.
    - Sound works under Windows on same PC.
    - Sound don't work under Arch - not with tvtime, not with vlc, etc.
    - Problem occurs even on a new installed system with the Arch-2013-02-01 install medium.
    cat /etc/mediasrv.log

After setting up a new Arch installation with just xorg-server, gnome, tvtime and the sundtek driver from AUR I run journalctl -b:

So, if I understand right, pulseaudio is alreade started by the rtkit-daemon and gnome couldn't start it again.
    At https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/30926 I found a hint concerning /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio.desktop and /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop.
After removing them from /etc/xdg/autostart and running journalctl -b there are no more errors.
With sudo journalctl | grep 'pulseaudio' I get:
sudo journalctl | grep 'Feb 10 17:4' | grep 'pulse*'
Feb 10 17:41:42 hightower rtkit-daemon[485]: Successfully made thread 484 of process 484 (/usr/bin/pulseaudio) owned by '120' high priority at nice level -11.

In my opinion all looks ok! I also checked the channels with the alsamixer and it looks good, too.
So I ran vlc v4l2://:dev=/dev/video0:width=720:height=576:tuner-frequency=510750:adev=/dev/null:standard=255 - but still no sound.
With cat /var/log/mediasrv.log I checked the drivers logfile:

I started tvtime again. This time I ran rm -rf ~/.config/pulse/ and killall pulseaudio to kill the Pulseaudio server. I instantly got a loud noise out of my speakers.
I closed tvtime and re-opened it. And there it was: TV SOUND OUT OF MY SPEAKERS!
But now, when I run pavucontrol I get:
Connection to PulseAudio failed. Automatic retry in 5s.
In this cas this is likely because PULSE_SERVER in the Environment/X11 root Windows Properties or default-server in client.conf is misconfigured.
This situation can also arrise when PulseAudio crashed and left stale details in the X11 Root Windows.
If this is the case, then PuseAudio should autospawn again, or if this is not configured you sould run start-pulseaudio-x11 manually.
I got the information from Sundtek, that Pulseaudio should not be started as system service. Instead, every user should have an own Pulseaudio daemon and that PA was concepted this way. But they don't know how it is implemented in ArchLinux.
I also don't know it exactly. So the question to all you ArchLinu pro's:
How is PA implemented in Arch? And how can I sustainable solve my problem?
Thank you for your time and help!
    Durag

There is just one more thing I found out.
After logging into Gnome and running ps aux | grep pulse I get:

To get the sound to work I run:
    rm -rf .config/pulse/
    killall pulseaudio
    killall -9 pulseaudio
I again run ps aux | grep pulse

I can recognize that the STATs have changed. Maybe this can help to solve the problem?

  • System slow after adding sata2 hd k8n-slifi

    hi.
recently added a 160gb 7200.9 seagate for more storage space but the system is slower now than before.
    amd64 3200+ stock speed
    k8n neo4 sli-fi
    pc4000 geil 2.5-4-4-9 at pc3200 speed.
    hitachi 7k250 160gb primary master
    ibm 30gb primary slave
    seagate 160gb 7200.9 sata2
    nec 2510a dvd-rw secondary master
    leadtek 7800gt
    leadtek tv2000 expert - tvcard.
    creative soundblaster audigy2
    antec 380w truepower S
    windows xp + sp2
latest drivers for both motherboard and gfx card from nvidia.
    latest bios, v1.3.
if i unpack a rar archive from the hitachi to the seagate i get serious slowdowns in both windows media player and the tv-card software.
if i play a game installed on the seagate the computer basicly stops when loading data, even in games that used to run good from the hitachi.
i have had some problems when browsing with firefox 1.5.0.1 due to lack of cpu power.
installed nvidia sw-ide driver and it helped considerbly but i still get slowdowns.
these are problems i never had before i put in the seagate.
i have no problems with corrupted data and i have not tried changing sata port, its in number 3/4 now.
the harddrive is configured as one big partition with ntfs filesystem.
also noticed it takes along time to access the seagate the first time in a new explorer window.
when i click on the designated letter the explorer locks up for 5-10seconds and the hd-led is active and then i can se the content of the harddrive.
if i move a 700mb avi file from the hitachi to the seagate i can se in taskmanager that the process "system" consumes 45-70% of cpu power.
if i move the same file to the ibm harddrive instead the same process never goes above 7%
any ideas of what it can be and what i can do to fix it ?
    /Tjabo

Yes, there is new firmware for Seagate 7200.9 160gig SATA2 drives. If your firmware has lots of 2's, you gotta chage teh firmware. Contact segate support by email and they will supply you the files.
i know sandra is a lieng ***** but she claims the harddrive is on bios 3.AAD
Built2Last mentioned bios 3.AAE so will take a look if their is yet another updated to try.

I think it could be your PSU problem as I can see more devices that you've now. Tried to borrow a psu from your with higher wattage. Gd luck
its not a psu error thats for sure.
the computer is 110% stable and is 110% stable with a 25% oc on the cpu and a 20% oc on the gfx card which pushes the psu quite far.
its all at stock at the moment.

  • WinXP and MSI 845PE MAX2

    Got the following problem.
    I've just purchased an MSI 845PE MAX2 (MS-6704) with a PIV 2,4ghz 533 processor and 512mb DDR PC2700.
Onboard USB/FIREWIRE/LAN and ATA133raid are enabled. My graphics card is a Matrox G400 which is using IRQ10.
    I have 3 HDD's installed together with 1 DVD-ROM and 1 3,5" diskdrive.
I have WinXP proffesional installed without any servicepack.
When I boot my system, everythings goes fine. I see the XP bootscreen and so. After the bootscreen, the pc normally goes to the sign-in screen. Well not for me.
After the bootscreen my monitor goes black, not standby just black and the system doesn't do anything.
Booting in save mode is no problem.
I have also disabled all the onboard stuff and booted the system with only my graphicscard in it. There is no IRQ that is used twice.
    Can somebody help me?
    thx

    Yeah, strange isn't?!
I've installed the RAID drivers during installation (HIT F6 if you want to install a third party driver)
Finished installation, restarted the pc and it gave this problem.
    So for short:
    Builded a new pc.
    Everything worked.
Installed WinXP on a new HDD (80gb WD)
Made 1 partition of 8gb NTFS, the rest is unallocated.
Installed WinXP without any service packs
    XP installed the drivers for:
USB/FIREWIRE/LAN/RAID/SOUND and also for some PCIcards: SCSIcard without bios, SB Live.
I had also a Pinnacle TVcard placed in the system but XP doesn't have any drivers included for it.
    After finishing installation, rebooted.
    XP wouldn't start.
    Removed all pci cards.
    same problem
    disabled USB/FIREWIRE/LAN/SOUND
    still the same problem.
Maybe a driver problem of a pci card which I removed but still is 'installed' in XP?

  • Where is the audio in TV / Video Cards???

    Hello boyz!
I am developing a little framework over jmf to make life easier to java developers who want to use media in their apps.
Now i am developing a Capturer class that is configured with an audio and video device and their capture formats.
To a webcam and the soundcard works fine. I get a datasource from each device, if i have both, i make a merged datasource...
But how works a videocard or tvcard? In the config of my class the video_device and audio_device will be the same, but later, how works the audio? Will i get a only datasource from the device with 2 streams? or how?
    Thanks in advance!
    jcpa1

As for TV capture sound, should be same principle as your webcam or soundcard. In my machine i have a webcam (video_device), a soundcard(audio_device) and a microphone in the webcam.
For the audio, capturemanager only shows: javasound and directsound (i suppose because i am in windows) and both are only for the soundcard, i cant select the microphone of the webcam :-(
So i would like hear the experience of a user who has a tv or video card.
How much easier can jmf get? if you know java, your sure be easily able to pick up jmf.To domine jmf you need to know about media formats, events, concurrency, and networking (if you want to send/receive) and later fight against the poor documentation and bugs of jmf.
So, i suppose if you only need to incorpore simple media tasks in your app you wont to study all previous topics.
    Greetings.

  • [SOLVED] Systemd /Hauppage HVR3000 TV Card

This card worked perfectly prior to the move to Systemd, but it now causes serious problems.  I have carried out a clean installation, without success. The symptoms are as follows:
With the card installed, on most boots (but not all), I get a stream of data on the screen at boot time, despite having the "quiet" option selected. When this happens, my PC continues to work OK, but will not turn off or reboot. I have to unplug it!

On the occasions when I don't get this stream of messages, everything works correctly.
I have confirmed that the problem is related to the card by removing it, when everything works perfectly.
I have be struggling with this for sometime.  I am desperate for any help in analysing/resolving this problem, as TV and video applications are important to me.
I would be extremely garteful for any help or guidance in resolving this problem.
    Many thanks in advance.

I have tested this thoroughly now, and all seems OK. I am receiving DVB-T using Kaffeine, and tvheadend seems to be recognising the card as it should.
    Here's what I did:
    (1) Compare the output of lsmod with and without the TV card installed. The differences are the modules loaded for the card. In my case, there were 35!
    (2) Temporarily blacklist all the modules from step (1), then manually modprobe each one in turn to identify those causing problems. In my case there were 3: cx88_dvb, cx8800 and cx88_alsa.
    (3) Blacklist these permanently
    (4) Write a script to install these after booting, save it and make it executable e.g.:
    #!/bin/sh
    modprobe -a cx88_dvb cx8800 cx88_alsa
    (5) Write a systemd service file to load this automatically, e.g.:
    [Unit]
    Description=tvcard
    [Service]
    ExecStart=/path/to/script
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target....
Save it in /etc/systemd/system/scriptname.service, then enable and start it.
    And that's it!
Many thanks, kokoko3k, for all your help.
EDIT: Corrected location of systemd service file to correct location of service file (as advised by kokoko3k, below)

  • Any Linux compatible capture devices?

I'm looking to get a composite capture card for my PC running 64-bit arch, but I'm finding it rather difficult to locate any that will for-sure work.
Does anyone know of any that work with Arch (particularly with the more recent kernels)?
    Thanks!

I do not know if it is still necessary, but at the time I made this file:
    /etc/modprobe.d/tvcard.conf
    options em28xx card=35
And here is the command line I use to record. It creates an high quality, high space wastage, easy to cut file.
    ( gst-launch-0.10 -t -e -v avimux name=mux ! filesink location=a.avi alsasrc device=plughw:1 ! 'audio/x-raw-int,rate=48000' ! queue ! mux. v4l2src device=/dev/video1 queue-size=16 ! 'video/x-raw-yuv,width=704,height=576' ! queue ! deinterlace mode=1 ! videorate ! 'video/x-raw-yuv,framerate=(fraction)25/1' ! ffenc_h263 bitrate=5000000 max-key-interval=1 ! mux. ) & sleep 3600s ; kill -2 $!
It records for an hour in a file file called a.avi. You can use avidemux to cut the file as needed and your favourite tool to transcode in your favourite format. gstreamer is the only program that gave me always perfectly synchronized audio.
There are some bullshit on the Internet about the audio quality. It works fine, but you have to use the rate of 48000, as you can see from the commandline.

  • Pops & clicks, and i read the forum already

I tried everything in the forum so far and still have the pops a clicks. how do i get rid of them? this all started after i installed my new asus a8v motherboard and amd64 chip. i am only running in 32 bit though.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum, Model SB0240P, on mobo Asus A7V880, cpu AMD Athlon Xp 2400+, 52 MB RAM DDR 333Mhz, HD Quantum Fireball p AS20,5, HD Maxtor 60GB, DVDRAM LG GSA463B, DVDROM LG 860b, vga Ati Radeon Sapphire 9000 pro 28mbDDR, tvcard Pinnacle PCTV, modem 56k Atlantis, spk Creative inspire 6700 6..

  • Problems with MythTV SVN

    Hey guys.
I'm dreaming about updateting my MythTV-system, to the newest in SVN.
When getting the package from AUR - I'm getting this error:
    # svn co http://svn.mythtv.org/svn/trunk/svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn.mythtv.org/svn/trunk': could not connect to server (http://svn.mythtv.org)
So what could this carswe - funny enough It worked with out problems on the MasterBackend - but not on the frontends - What could carse this!

Since I have some special TVcards - Whivh will nolt work under kernel2.6.30 - I will not use that kernel - and for that reason thed pacman -Syu worked, but afterwards I needing to downgrade the kernel to make the TVtuners work
So you should be able to rebuild a package - which is allready installed - without beeing forced to do a pacman -Syu. That cannot be real, and gives you several hours up/downgrading to build a newer version of a insta lled package!

  • XFI XtremeGamer SB0770 Connection i

i currently have an XFI XtremeGamer SB0770 and am trying to hook up my winfast tv2000 xp expert tv card to it for audio. Since theres a lack of a manual for download or with the card... the only headers i can see on the card to connect the AUX cable to that runs from the tvcard to the xfi, are the dual headers that are used to hook frontpanel headphone/microphone connections too?are these what your supposed to use? i tried the cable on these pins (the aux connector doesn't make use of them all so bit of trial and error needed)? and got audio from them, but obviously now i can't use the front panel connections..

    up ya go
