Twain CS5 not working, CS4 does

In a MacPro, running Snow Leopard, CS5 twain plugin loaded correctly, and the application is checked to start in 32 bit mode. Upon startup of CS5 the splash screen mentions loading Twain and building the menu, yet doesn't list the devices. When you go to File Import, the twain devices are not shown. Yet when you launch CS4, the splash screen states loading Twain, building the menu and lists the devices. In the File drop down they are listed.
Remedies attempted: tossing the CS5 preferences, re-downloading the plugins and replacing them.
Has anyone else seen this?
Three other computers 10.5.8 and snow leopard, Twain works just fine.

We installed Rosetta as a separate install when we installed Snow Leopard, several of the applications we run needed it (like the Adobe Photoshop CS4) so Rosetta is running, the issue is that Photoshop won;t run this particular TWAIN scanner, even though Image Capture does.
So I have selected the preferences of Image Capture to launch Photoshop CS5 with the scans. This is a work around, but its not the same as being in Photoshop, selecting Import and using the TWAIN devices...

Try holding the shift key while booting to get Safe mode if possible.

If you are unable to reset the iPod (assuming the hold switch is not in the On position either), then you'll have to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then connect it to a charger and leave it to charge for a couple of hours.

The trial is always extended. The serial number you enter determines whether it runs as standard or extended.
I'm getting through fine with that link, so it must be a browser issue or some such thing. Try another browser.

The blog was incorrect. Photomerge should work in the trial, too.
When things get weird in PSE the first thing to do is to delete the prefs. Go to the editor preferences>general, click this button and restart the editor:

Pretty strange, but...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, does it happen in Safe Mode? Reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

First, you don't have a 5+ year old 3GS. The 3GS has only been around for under 4 years. In fact, 5 years ago there were NO iPhones; the original iPhone (2 generations before the 3GS) came out on June 29, 2007 - not quite 5 years ago. The 3GS was released June 19, 2009.
That aside, you can sync multiple phones to one computer - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495. boogeyman is wrong. If the basics from the User Guide have all been tried (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) and you still have problems, then you've done all the troubleshooting you can do. You'll need to bring your phone into Apple or an authorized service provider in your area.

Photoshop CS5 not working with Lucida Grande Regular font

On my iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, I am running OS 10.6.7.
When using Photoshop CS5, if I try to use the font, Lucida Grande Regular, it causes an error.
"Could not use the type tool because of a program error."
When I try to open an existing file that has type layers that include the font Lucida Grande Regular, Photoshop will not open the file. I have several of these files that I want to use. I can open them on another Macintosh and everything works fine.
First I get a message window that says, " Some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update these layers now?" I click on update and then get the following message. "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I have updated Photoshop CS5 to the latest version, 12.0.4.
I have run the FontTest.jsx script and it shows an error for Lucida Grande Regular.
(IOError: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop.

The other 100+ fonts on my machine did not create errors.
Since Lucida Grande Regular is an essential font for Mac OS X, I re-installed OS 10.6 in order to have a new version of Lucida Grande Regular. After that re-install I am having the same problems with the font not working in Photoshop.
It also does not work with Adobe InDesign CS5. The font does work in Microsoft Word.
The program Font Book verifies Lucida Grande Regular.
Other fonts including, Lucida Grande Bold, work fine in Photoshop and InDesign.
What can I do to get Photoshop CS5 to work with Lucida Grande Regular?

Wow, I'm so glad I found this thread. This problem has been dogging me for years, and it's so sporadic that I've been afraid of breathing the wrong way lest I somehow incur that diabolical Program Error dialog. I'd managed to reach a truce with Photoshop CS5, getting it into a barely working state, and avoiding all updates... until Lion came along today. Then I updated to CS5 12.0.4, and the Program Errors were back again.
Now I see that the problem does seem to be related to the Lucida Grande font. If there's a layer with that font in it, not only can I not edit that text, but I can't marquee select anything, nor drag any shapes. Deleting caches and massaging fonts are completely ineffectual measures... but if I delete the Lucida layers entirely, we're back in business.
At least so far.
Funny to think that of all the innovations I'd like to see Photoshop adopt, the fixing of this one issue is the thing I'd like to see most. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread, and any updates by Mr. Cox.

Photoshop CS5 not working after reinstalling OS

"To open “Adobe Photoshop CS5.app,” you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet." This is what I get when trying to open CS5, it worked before I reinstalled the OS due to a crash.
I can't dwonload the Java SE 6 as it says it is not compatible.
Anyone got a fix for this? I am a photographer so need Photoshop.
I am connected to the internet when doing this.

Airplay is not working , remote does not find library all of a sudden

I am having atypical problem. Sometime in the afternoon all of a sudden my Airplay connection from iMac hard disk to Airport Express is not working or is stopped and then started and then stopped. So in other words not stable. As far as the Apple expert trained service guy is telling me all wifi components are installed ok. meaning Aiprot Extreme as router and 3 airport express n-verisons ( latest models ) . Still it is not working properly.
What i see is that the Wifi conection on the iMac is sometimes not working in particllur hours of the afternoon . It goes of and has to be restarted by hand ( does not reconnect automatically. ).
I hope somebody has some clues what could be the problem why my airplay is not stable... ?

how many batteries do you have and if you hve more than one it does it with both batteries? If you only have one battry that battery made be bad, batteries are fairly inexxpensive I would buy another battery first.Those cameras are selling for $200 new now with just a quick search. Anyway Id try another battery.
