Twain drivers

I have been told by HP tech support that I need to reinstall Twain Drivers (for scanning) on my Macbook Pro (OS10.6.8). These drivers are located in the HD library under System, library, frameworks, Twain Frameworks. MAC Tech support doesn't even now what Twain software is. I need help trying to find the correct drivers for my system and reinstalling them. HP says if you do not do it correctly it will cause a serious system issue.

Incorrect. That's Mac OS X's TWAIN interface. No TWAIN driver has any business there. But keep in mind that the tech support rep who's told you that was just reading off some memo, form, or script, which may have been poorly written, misunderstood, or mistaken.

If correctly installed (and if your device is supported), you should be able to access the scanner with Image Capture.

ScanJet 8270 ISIS/TWAIN Drivers and Utilities cannot be installed on Windows 8.1 64Bit

Hello, I've tried to install all the drivers for my ScanJet 8270 on a Windows 8.1 64Bit System. The standard twain and wia drivers installation worked perfect, but when trying to install the "ISIS/TWAIN Drivers and Utilities" the setup hangs (I'm using version 3.0 from 20 Aug 2014 which is currently the latest one). The setup starts, shows a progess bar while extracting the files, but after that nothing happens. After a while I've took a look into Windows task manager and saw, that the process is still running, but doing nothing (no CPU or other resource usage). On Windows 7 everything worked fine, but not on Windows 8. Although the scanner is advertised to work under Windows 8 and this driver is also listed on the driver downlaod page for Windows 8 it's not possible to get it installed on Windows 8. Is HP not testing the setups before shipping them? What can I do to get this driver to run on my PC? Is anyone out there having the same problems and solved them already? Open the run prompt in your computer and type "msconfig"2. In the system configuration utility, select the "services" tab3. Check the option " Hide all microsoft services"4. All the Programs, other than Microsoft Windows services would be listed now5. Locate any conflicting programs and uncheck them in the window6. Twain drivers interface under photoshop CC with Epson Products

Could i ask if there is solutions to get back the twain drivers we have in the past into photoshop
where this one is going away, why does we have to use no WIA extensions ( not able to do multiple scan)
i could understand that it can be solved when epson will release a x64 bits drivers
but what's happening for old printers or multifunction
and how to get interact with them with a professionnal interfaces for setting options
as like resolution, size, contrast and more

what was my surprise with windows 8, there's a lot that change for printer management

Twain Drivers Are Not Recognizing my LiDE 100 Scanner in Photoshop CS5?

This is my first post, mainly becuase I'm stumped on every front to this problem, just bought myself a new 17" Macbook Pro the other day and immediately started to update all my drivers, through on Photoshop CS5 among a few other CS5 programs, but this is where things got hairy...
Since this is a 64 bit intel mac (Snow Leapord) , I went over and decided to download the TWAIN plugin, dropped it in the Import/Export plugins folder, went to the Adobe Photoshop app folder and happily clicked boot as 32 bit... aaaaand... NOTHING. It didn't see my scanner, and my scanner is a Canoscan LiDE 100, not that old. I've already had success doing this with Win 64 bit as long as I opened a 32 bit version of Photoshop, but no luck so far on the Mac. The scanner works fine with Image Capture so I know that he scanner is alive.
I've tried rebooting, finding other TWAIN plugins, even out of curiosity I've toggled between 32 and 64 bit Photoshop to see if the Scanner could be recognized. I know I could scan using Image capture, but I'd rather get this problem sorted out. I know that in some cases people boot using Rosetta, but this scanner isn't that old so I don't think that would be the problem.
If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated, and I realize that sometimes the most simple answer is the one that's the most easily overlooked, and I'm hoping that's the case.

Scanning with TWAIN has become increasingly buggy.
Why not just use the Epson scanner software that came with the scanner?
That way you can continue to use Photoshop while using Epson to scan.
There are more features available from Epson than with Image Capture.
However, if you feel the need to use TWAIN, here is the link for Mac CS5 plugin.

Twain drivers, 32 and 64 bit.

Why can't I scan or print into programs that are 64 bit programs. I get an error signal that I only have 32 bit drivers and the scan or print function won't work.

Mine did. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom = no, Adobe Photoshop CS6 = yes. However, if it does not as in the case of LR, you should be able to download either version from Adobe.

No Twain or WIA drivers showing up in Windows 8.1

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8, I had to do some major updates to my HP software to get my OfficeJet Pro 8600 scanning again. But still missing are the Twain or WIA drivers I need for third-party software. When I click Acquire in Corel Photo-Paint, the scan option is ghosted. I read a previous thread, and will try some of the suggestions. However my printer is connected wirelessly. Do these drivers work on wireless, or will I have to set up a wired connection?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are running into some problems with the Twain and WIA drivers for your HP LJ 100 Color MFP. I would like you to start troubleshooting below:
Click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools
-- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.
Follow the steps below to check the WIA Service:
1. Click on Start, in Search box type services.msc and press the enter key.
2. Scroll down to the WIA Windows Image Acquisition.
3. Make sure that this service is running. Click Stop and then Restart.
4. Restart the computer.
Restart the Dependencies services:
1. Click on Start, in Search box type services.msc.
2. Scroll down until you see Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
3. Double click on it and go to the tab called Dependencies.
4. 2 services should be listed.
5. Exit that window and look for Remote Procedure Call (RPC).
6. Make sure it is on manual or if it is on Auto, just leave it. Make sure the service is started though.
7. Go to Shell Hardware Detection and Double click.
8. Set the Start up Type as Manual and hit Apply.
9. You should be able to Start the service by hitting Start.
10. Now you are done and the Twain Manager should be working and not give you an error.
Check dependencies or sub dependencies:
Right click on WIA (Windows Imaging Acquisition) selecting first properties and then the dependencies tab. It
should list: Remote Procedure Call RPC and Shell Hardware Detection.
Under RPC it will then list DCOM Service Process Launcher and RPC Endpoint Mapper Go back to the main
services.msc list and then right click and start all the items listed as dependencies or sub dependencies under
WIA.
Try and scan again.
Here is a link to update the Twain drivers if you are still having issues. Automatically identify and download official Twain driver updates.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

HP OfficeJet 6500 wireless twain driver( for scan to quickbooks) needed

I have an extra HP OfficeJet 6500 wireless printer around and I wanted to see if it had a twain driver so we could use it to scan to attach directly to QuickBooks. QuickBooks lists scanners they think would work and it is not on the list but they also state that any twain driver should work.

Twain_32 Drivers

On Windows 7, photoshop CS5 no longer loads the twain drivers in Windows>Twain_32 into File>Import. How can I get them there?

The TWAIN driver is a software.
For example you want to take a picture from built-in web camera by using your application.
Your application accesses to web camera via twain driver.
Just like printer driver. With printer driver you can send your documents to printer via printer driver.
With the TWAIN driver you can access to WEB CAM and capture the picture and save the picture image
yo your application.
Almost all of the external web cameras have TWAIN drivers. Twain driver is become defacto.
I asked the TWAIN driver here because my note book has built-in web camera.
I may access to built-in web camera via TWAIN drivers. Is the any way you know?
I have been using these TWAIN drivers over 20 years in my application.
For getting picture from camera or from scanner.

There is no 64 bit TWAIN plug-in for Photoshop CS5?

I have downloaded the PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Mac_en_US dmg and opened up the "Optional Plug-Ins" and there is no TWAIN driver for 32_64bit.
My Epson Perfection 4990 Photo works fine stand alone. I installed an upgrade for it (the driver) so I have the latest and it is suppose to work with 32 or 64 bit. Photoshop CS5 does not recognize the 32bit_only version downloaded plug-in when I copy it into the Plug-Ins/Import-Export folder.
So how can I get my Epson to be recognized in Photoshop CS5 under File -> Import.? I did have it working in CS4 but CS5 needs a 64bit version and I don't see how to get that and I'm stuck. Would buying Silverfast bridge this problem?

Photoshop creative suite 5.5; error message "stopped working"; twain install failed;

I am at the end of my rope, I am about ready to uninstall the whole thing and install Corel. With the latest update of Windows, my Photoshop stopped working. I tried to download and place the twain drivers that the directions told me to, but the download came with all kinds of "optional" plug ins and no directions on where to put them, do i put all of them in the Import/export folder, do i put only one in there, is so which one? I have windows 7 on an HP machine, I need my photoshop for obvious reasons. there are also hints to another file/folder like twain, but nothing about how to fix that either...

Hi everybody, we have the same problem. I work for university.We have to make a packeging for the Adobe CS4. I installed with administrator privilage, but the user for student isn't admin. Message came up when I opened programs... "Licensing for this product has stopped working: You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or adobe customer support for help."
The program for repackeging is Wise. I can put the admin privilage for adobe PCD and Macrovision Shared.
How can I do?

Acrobat DC scanner only ICA interface no TWAIN?

After upgrading to Acrobat DC I can no longer access TWAIN drivers for two of my scanners: Canon MX920 series, CanoScan LiDe 500F. I am on Mac OS X 10.9 machine.
They were working fine with Acrobat XI. The only scanner driver available is Canon MX920 series (ICA) but this one doesn't have all the features of the TWAIN driver. (Canon's Scanning Utility works, so the TWAIN drivers seem to be fine).
Any ideas how to fix this, short of downgrading?

CS3 won't start - error at TWAIN building on Vista 64

I just got an HP pavilion d7 computer running Vista Home Premium (64) on a 2gb processor with 4gb RAM. I successfully installed CS3, entered the license code and activated the software, but when I try to run Photoshop CS3, I get the infamous Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working properly error at the screen where it says it is building TWAIN menu items.
I've tried the licensing update from Adobe with no success. I've tried running it as administrator, using the compatibility mode...no success. I'm at my wits end.
Incidentally, I tried installing the PSE7 trial (because I was going to buy it next week) and that gives me the same error whenever I try to access the Editor.
Can someone help me please?

Scanner drivers, specific drivers for digital cameras and in part even specific printer drivers for printers that use PictBridge or provide memory card slots. Also graphics programs will install dummy TWAIN drivers on occasion. If they are device drivers, the should be visible in your Add or Remove Programs system panel. Otherwise check your Twain sub-directory inside your Windows operating system directory and rip out any suspicious stuff. Once gone, they will not be loaded. Windows' file protection and recovery may restore them, though.

Your HP M1005 MFP all in one is too old and unsupported for 10.8.5
HP's site says that OS X 10.3 and 10.4 are supported. It does not, repeat, does NOT mention 10.5 much less newer.
Also there is no patch support for same on the last resort:

Nothing on earth is as aggravating as twain drivers for scanners. Ive installed every make and model on PC and Mac, and theyre all hair-pulling-worthy.
