Tweak Firefox to very slow connection

Como configurar(no about:config) o meu firefox para conexões muito lentas?
Algo em torno de 32KBps?
Máximo de conexões? Pipeling? Requisições máximas, etc...
Obrigado desde já.
How to tweak(in about:config) Firefox to very slow connection?
Like 32KBps.
maxrequests? Pipeling(true or false)? MaxConn?
Thanks!

  • Firefox 36 very slow connecting - Says "Connecting ...." - while other browsers work

    since FF 36 users within our network have problems connecting to web sites.
    Time to load the entire page is in the range of Minutes.
    Same behavior for different users after upgrading to FF36.
    Creating a new profile - same behavior
    Using portable version - same behavior
    enabled / disabled:
    network.dns.disableIPv6
    network.dns.disablePrefetch
    network.http.spdy.enabled.http2
    network.http.spdy.enabled.http2draft
    - same behavior
    Using managed F-Secure Client Security
    No problems at all with Chrome and IE11.
    Very odd - any idea?

    Note that Firefox 36.0.1 has been released, so you can update and see if it works with the pref I mentioned above set to default.

  • Firefox 13 very slow compared to IE or Chrome despite Fastestfox

    Firefox is very slow compared to IE 8 or Google Chrome despite Fastestfox plugin and the server connection is interrupted all the time when I try to load sites, and I have to re-load again and again (this also happens wehn I clicked on HELP)... I also could not restart in safemode as I didn't find it... Please help, as I would like to use Firefox...

    I noticed firefox 13.0.1 is very slow after gradual use. Even my computer is slowing down when using it.. All this nonsense about the addon or extension seems like Bull...
    Im thinking of using version 3.6.28 which was wayyyy faster. Mozilla need to make more quality products.
    I recommend either going back to Internet Explorer or using Firefox 3.6.28, i really hope mozilla's next browser ver 14 is way faster...

  • Latest update has my safari/firefox running very slow

    I did the latest software update Monday night, and now my safari and firefox are very slow to load. I have raised the memory storage to 100 MB, tried the proxy thing (didn't work, so I put it back to where it was), tried clearing the cache, and I don't know what to do. I have a router with specific numbers, so I can't change that on the TCP thing.
    Please help.

    I added the DNS numbers and safari is working, but what about my slow Firefox?
    Your system uses DNS for its internet connection, so if it helps Safari it should have the same effect on Firefox. If Firefox is having problems when Safari is not, that's a problem specific to that program and you might want to pursue that on the forums dedicated to its support.

    Firefox is very slow to respond when opening and nearly always stops responding altogether, even refusing to react to the Task Manager "End Program" command. The "not responding" error message also comes up during navigation on line. Several attempt have to be made to get on line. A loss of stability seems to be endemic at the moment.

  • Mavericks install incomplete. No Apple installers on HD. Will I be able to upgrade to Yosemite and will it fix all that didn't install with Mavericks upgrade? Very slow connection speeds 30 hrs to download Mavericks. Tried re-install; no help/

    Ever since upgrade to Mavericks I have been having problems which are too numerous to mention. I finally found a program from a UCBerkley professor called Pacifier which indicated 4000+ of 400,000+ files and folders did not install. I was unable to go further to try to fix everything because Pacifier can't find ANY Apple installers on my HD. It recommended I download the Mavericks installer without reinstalling to continue; however, after having done so (very slow connection; takes 30 hours to download) and although the installer appears in apps while downloading it disappears and NO Apple installer packages can be found on my hard drive. I tried to download Yosemite once and it indicated my system wasn't eligible for the upgrade. Its' download time was similar to Mavericks; 28+ hours.
    I am using a Macbook Pro mid-2012 version OS X 10.9.5 (13F34); Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5; Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB.
    Regardless of how many files and apps I remove my memory is being eaten up to the point I can hardly do anything at all. There are no civil words for how frustrated I am. Someone please help me.

    Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
    Partition and Format the hard drive:
    Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.

  • Help : very slow connection speed with AEBS and iMac

    I connect to the internet using my newly purchased AEBS. I have a MacBook and an 24" iMac ( purchased in Nov 2007). My iMac showed very slow connecting speed of <1 MB/s download; with my MacBook placed just 1 foot from my iMac, the MacBook showed an amazing download speed of 20MB/s. If i connect the iMac to the AEBS using ethernet cable, it can get a very high speed.
    So, where is the problem??
    I am new to wireless, please help. I use iMac more than my MacBook at home.
    Actually, i did not touch the any of the advance setting of the AEBS.

    You know, I am experiencing the same problem. My wife's PC and iPhone are blazing fast, but my MacBook is accessing the internet at about dial-up speeds. Very frustrating and I haven't yet found the culprit.
    Anyone???

  • ARD 3.7.2 very slow connection on Lan

    I'm running ARD 3.7.2 on MacBook Air (OSX 10.9.2) to connect mac mini (8gb / osx 10.9.2)  very slow connection on LAN.
    Mini connected to LAN 100Mbit Ethernet, MacBook connection is wi-fi

    Ok, I solved it after doing some extensive Google searching.  Still not sure why ARD went bonkers, but here's my fix.
    1. Download the ARD 3.7.1 client drom the Apple downloads page and install it manually on the client machine.
    2.  Go back to the administrator machine and delete the computer client from the computers list.
    3.  From the scanners list, find the now visible client machine (it will probably say "no user name or password" next to it) and drag it to the computer list.
    4.  When you drag it over it will ask for the username and password.  Fill in an administrator user name and password for that computer, click OK and you're done.
    Still a mystery as to why ARD software itself will not create new client packages.  I still haven't figured that part out.  Downloading the standard client package from Apple is the only work around I know of so far.  Good luck.

  • Very slow connection with Mifi 4510L??

    I'm hoping someone here can give some guidance. I am having very slow connection with the 4510L we just got. Via test on speedtest.net I'm seeing download speed of .17 MBPS at times it was so slow the test was not completing. I normally have 1 or 2 bars on the mifi unit and have seen up to 3 at times. I drove into town and see the same range (1 to 3 bars). I have yet to see the 4G light come on except for prior to activation (would light solid green at times) since activating I have only seen the violet light for 3G.
    Verizon advertises full service both around our city (Richmond, VA) and at my more remote location in Hanover. I have been through the recommended resets and nothing seems to improve the connection speed. Could the unit itself be defective? Also, I've noticed when I go to a location website it thinks I am in Pennsylvania when I am in Virginia. Could the Mifi be trying to connect to a signal in that location for some reason (was refurbished device)
    Thanks for any help you can offer,
    Brian

    I was having problems but upgrading to 2.28 seems to have helped me in addition to a few other changes I made based on this review of the 4510L
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/4500/novatel-wireless-mifi-4510l-review-the-best-4g-lte-wifi-hotspot/4
    1) "selecting WPA2 Personal/PSK (AES)"
    2) "manually selecting a channel (instead of Auto) fixes almost all the instability problems"
    (I'm not sure if it actually worked as the diagnostics always shows channel 0 no matter what I picked.  I did try a couple before one - or the myriad of other things I tried - seemed to make a difference - at least for now - fingers crossed)
    3) "allowing for one to select between each network mode manually, so you can force 4G LTE, EVDO, 1xRTT, or all of the above. This is incredibly useful if you’re right at the cutoff for 4G LTE SINR"  (that's WWAN Preferred Mode LTE only for me)
    4) I also changed my 802.11 Mode to just one mode that works on both computers at my house
    5) I am also careful to turn it off when I am done with it and take it off the charger for the night as well.
    It is my only internet service due to my semiremote location (no cable etc) and when I first got it as a replacement for my dependable 2200 I was about to pull all my hair out.  I was "forced" into it because due to antenna issues on a local tower that supplies my 3G signal my 2200 wasn't even able to load my gmail account.  Verizon very helpful on that - call us if its still an issue in a "few weeks"!  However, when I inquired about the antenna's effect on a 4G signal, an intelligent tech was able to tell me that it was not the tower I would be getting a 4G signal off of - odd but I didn't question that possibility.
    It runs very very warm but I suspect having it on the charger and using it almost all day is part of that.  At first I was wondering if heat was part of the problem - going so far as to have it sitting on an ice pack to test that theory.  Of course then I had to wonder if maybe I was freezing it -lol.  I am careful to turn it off when I am done with it and take it off the charger for the night as well.
    I've been on it most of the day and it seems to be behaving well - so fingers crossed

  • Very slow connection after phone line repair

    I had my phone line repaired yesterday with new cabling and new BT box for phone and computer.My phone is fine, but the hub for my broadband does not appear to be ok.  the phone symbol on the hub did not light up at all  this morning, and after restarting the hub and going back to default settings it is now glowing orange only.  It was ok yesterday after being fixed. Very slow connection now. Should i keep  everything on  to see if it will right itself, or re-start yet again?
    I have been looking on BT's options for fixing but can't seem to find anything. the connections in my area are fine so it can't be an outside fault

    Which home hub do you have? Did you recently re-contract or change your package, as that will affect your hub phone.
    As for the speed issue, it should get better if you leave it alone.

  • Very SLOW connection - 5 mbps download

    Since November, 2014, I've been experiencing very slow connection.
    Redlands, CA 92373
    5 mbps download 30 mbps upload
    Called the call center 5 times. Each time, just a bunch of rebooting the router & speedtest.net checking
    A new Verizon router was installed and didn't improve anything.
    Technician 1 visited and mentioned that there is a network hardware problem in the area and many people called in for slow connection issues. The technician rebooted the ONT box and said if the speed goes down again, the ONT box should be replaced. The speed went down as soon as the technical left.
    Technician 2 visited and replaced the ONT box. Later that day, the speed went down to 5 mpbs for download.
    It's so slow at the time of writing this that Facebook page is rendered with texts only.
    Are there anyone from Redlands, CA area who have been experiencing the slow connection for a while?
    I don't want to call in again to go thru another around of 1 hour long rebooting / resetting the router and chekcing the speedtest.net exercises.
    I feel I am being ripped off because I am paying for 75/75.
    I'm running out of patience and am considering to switch to Timewarner.

  • Firefox browser very slow signing in and moving from one website to another

    firefox browser very slow signing in and opening different websites.
    == Operating system ==
    Windows xp

    Hello BJ.
    This kind of issues are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like. Thankfully, 99% of the cases are very easy to solve. However, you do need to diagnose what your exact problem is. Do this:
    #run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe-mode] to disable all extensions, themes and plugins. If this fixes your issues, be them with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with plugins, themes or extensions. Proceed to number 2. If safe-mode doesn't fix the issues, then read bellow, after this list;
    #update all extensions, themes and plugins in your Firefox. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
    #disable all extensions, themes and plugins in your Firefox (not running safe-mode). Being certain that, as in safe-mode, the problems you're having have gone away, enable one plugin at a time. You should be certain that you WANT that plugin to be enabled, so keep your overall number of plugins as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic plugin, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all plugins (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all.
    #enable one extension at a time. Again, be certain that you WANT that extension to be enabled, so keep your overall number of extensions as low as possible. Also, try the theme you want to have installed so see if that is what's causing the problem. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic extension/theme, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all your extensions (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all;
    #you're done! You've fixed your problems with problematic add-ons. If you want to keep using those problematic add-ons, please contant their author for support.
    Ok, if disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to bring Firefox's CPU and RAM usage to good levels, then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Do as follows:
    #try reinstally Firefox. No data will be lost. You can get the latest version for free at [http://www.getfirefox.com/ getfirefox.com]. If that doesn't fix the problem, proceed;
    #do a virus/malware check on your computer. If this doesn't fix it, proceed;
    #disable all software running in the background that you don't want to have running in the background (in windows, this is done by pressing WINDOWS+R in your keyboard, typing "msconfig" (without the commas) and pressing enter. Now, under the "Startup" tab, you can uncheck the software you don't want, and reboot your system for changes to take effect. If you're unsure of what software you want running, ask someone with more experience). If this doesn't fix your issues with Firefox, proceed;
    #check your firewall/antivirus/security suite for enabled functions/features that you don't want and/or may be conflicting with Firefox. You'll find that these features are most likely tied to Internet Security features, such as link scanners or URL checkers and the like. If you're not sure they are conflicting with Firefox, simply try to disable them to see whether or not that's true. As long as you don't browse the web with your antivirus completely off and your firewall completely turned off, there should be no problems. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
    #check your operating system security options, mainly advanced options that are not configured by default. While it's very unlikely that this may be the cause of the problem (after all, it's the last item on the list), it's remotely possible. If this doesn't work, proceed to the following point;
    #clean up your OS registry, using appropriate software. If this doesn't do it, I'm out of ideas. Except make sure you've followed my instructions correctly.

  • Firefox is very slow when using RDP

    Firefox is fast when using Windows directly. But when using RDP it is very slow. For example, empty new tab takes about 6 seconds to open. The RDP connection is fast and other programs response immediately (e.g. browsing of the same pages in IE is fast).
    What is the problem with Firefox?

    Could it be graphics hardware acceleration??
    You probably need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.). On the remote system:
    orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
    On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    Then restart Firefox. Does that make any difference?

  • Firefox is very slow, doesn't look right and all history and bookmarks gone

    This happened just after I installed a proprietary software that I needed for work.
    When I launched Firefox afterwards, I realized that all of my bookmarks and history was gone. The websites were loading very slow. My Firefox sync configuration settings were gone.
    Also, when I search Google and put the cursor over the links that appear, the cursor usually turns to a hand symbol. Now it turns to a text cursor (like an I). The links are usually colored blue, but now they are colored black.
    I'm using Chromium instead of Firefox now, and it appears to be working OK.
    Tried disabling all the addons. Didn't work. Then uninstalled and re-installed Firefox. No luck. Uninstalled Firefox, deleted all folders containing "firefox" as part of the name in "/usr/lib", and re-installed Firefox. Didn't work.
    Maybe the proprietary software that I installed altered the user permissions to some folder so Firefox is not able so access them? I don't know. If you have any ideas let me know.
    I would really like to get Firefox working properly again, because I'm so used to it, and use addons like Zotero. Also, I have Windows in dual boot, and I have Firefox running there, and everything I do there was synced to Firefox in Ubuntu. But not anymore :(.
    Thanks.

  • Very slow connecting to WRTU54G-TM... Any ideas?

    I am trying out T-Mobile's VOIP phone service which uses a Linksys WRTU54G-TM wireless router. When I attempt to connect to the WRTU54G-TM, it takes over a minute before it connects. I also have a Linksys WRT54G router which always connects in just a few seconds. The settings on the two are identical. Anyone know what the problem is? Other than the connection time, it works ok. Thanks

    I'm having the same issue as well as very slow internet (from 4.5Mbps with wrt54g down to .5Mbps with wrtu54g-tm)
    only setting that I can find different is the wrt54g is set to "gateway" mode and wrtu54g-tm is set to "router" mode.
    I'm trying MAC cloning from the old wrt54g I'll let you know if that helps, however ISP says it shouldn't matter
