Tween anchor points

I haven't used shape tweens in a very long time. It seems like it's working differently than it used to.
I'm expecting it to maintain the number of points, maintain the point order, and tween each anchor point and handle position separately. Anime Studio works exactly the way I expected it to work (and believe it used to work). With CS5, I have to add shape hints just to sort-of maintain the point order. And if I ever add a keyframe between 2 existing keyframes, there's a gazillion new points to deal with. Is there any workaround?

This info helped me, when I got weird results:
Shape hints work best if you place them in counterclockwise order beginning at the top left corner of the shape.

    Hey, Forum;
    I'm trying to set up a basic shape tween of a sheet of paper

    single curve point on each corner (curved so I can show the arcing

    wozza,
    Are you sure you are selecting the path, not the guid?
    It may be time to look at the list.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Object's anchor point not "sticking".

    I'm using Flash CC and experiencing an issue with anchor points. I have Movie Objects on the stage and I usually can set their anchor point, create my keyframe, and then use classic tweens to rotate and animated based on where I placed my anchor. Upon trying to animate today, my anchor points weren't sticking when I adjusted them. It's been a couple weeks since I last used Flash to animate not sure if anchor points have somehow changed. But it is very frustrating that they aren't staying in place. Please help!
    I'm using Win 8.1 on a Surface Pro (1st gen).
    Thanks,
    Ian

    I was only getting it on my SurfacePro - tried it on my desktop (running Win 8.1) and it didn't show up again. I looked like a timeline adjustor that you would find in Premiere or After Effects. But it really wasn't breaking anything so I'll ignore it. I was able to capture my issue on video, and although I thought I had figured it out, it seems that there is still an issue with using anchor points and classic tweens. Take a look at the video if you have a chance:

  • How can I use existing anchor point as a new one?

    Can anyone help?
    I'm tracing over a drawing, and I'm trying to use an existing anchor point as an anchor point for another curve. So, from c, I want to click and drag on anchor point b to make a new curve. If I click where b is, then I just delete b. Can I make b my initial anchor point so that I can use it to complete my tooth? When I get to the next teeth Ill have to do the same thing. Has anyone any ideas?

    > Each tooth should be a closed path.
    Why?
    > If I click where b is, then I just delete b.
    Ugh, turn off Auto Add/Delete Anchor Point and watch your rage levels instantly decrease. You can then put your final point anywhere you want, including smack dab on top of B.

  • How do I link to an anchor point  within a web page from within a PDF

    Hello,
    Can someone tell me how to link to an anchor point on a webpage from within a PDF?
    I created a page in Word and when i add my url with the # to reference the anchor eg. www.google.com/web#test1 and test the link it all works fine. I then create a PDF of this same page however the PDF seems to strip out the URL and looks to reference a file #test1.
    Any suggestions, ideas?
    Thanks

  • How can I find out the angle of a straight line between two anchor points?

    I would like to extend a line which is at a given angle (not 45,90 degree). Is there a quick and reliable way to do this? or to find out the angle of a segment?
    What I'm doing at the moment is just direct selecting an anchor point and using the visual guides to extend it. I don't think this is exact though so was I wondering if anyone had any techniques for doing this?
    Thanks!

    portfelio,
    Smart Guides are your friends.
    As a general solution, you may:
    1) With the Line Segment Tool ClickDrag between the two Anchor Points (Smart Guides say anchor);
    2) With the appropriate Reference Point selected in the Transform palette, increase the W or H value and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter;
    3) Lock the new auxiliary line;
    4) ClickDrag the relevant Anchor Point of the original line along the extended auxiliary line (Smart Guides say path);
    5) Unlock and delete the auxiliary line.
    After 1), you may also click the Line Segment Tool to see the angle.
    Or,  in a case with a straight path (segment), you may use the Scale Tool:
    1) (Direct) Select the straight path (segment);
    2) Switch to the Scale Tool and Click the Anchor Point that is to stay, then ClickDrag the one to move (Smart Guides say uniform when you are dragging in the right direction).

  • How do I fix my Pen Tool/Delete Anchor Point Tool in Illustrator?

    Problem One - I'm trying to change the form of my shape, and all of a sudden my Delete Anchor Point Tool isn't working. I'm clicking (and zoomed in A LOT) and it's not clicking on or deleting any of my anchor points.
    Problem Two - I'm not sure if it's just the slow speed of my work computer, but I'm trying to trace a shape in a photo that I have locked in the background, and when I click my pen tool it makes the point like 2 to 5 pixels away from where I'm clicking, so I can't precisely trace the shape that I would like to.
    Any tips and help on this ASAP would be great! Getting stuck like this is throwing off my productivity and it's very frustrating!
    Thank you!

    The problem was Google Chrome browser!  As soon as I quit Chrome my pen tool started working again.  I didn't even need to restart Fireworks.  I wonder if it is a conflict with one of my plugins/add ons.  Most likely.
    UPDATE - I did narrow it down to one specific Google Chrome extension.  It was "Google Play Music"

  • Problems with anchor points on Pages 5.2.2

    i have Pages 5.2.2 and Mavericks 10.9.5.  I noticed I could not follow on from a previous paragraph on a simple wordprocessing page.  No inserted tables or media inserts, just straight forward writing.  The hidden symbols shows that it is a 'lollipop ' symbol - an anchor point for objects set to move with text.  The online help instructs to go to the format inspect and choose Arrange.  On my version the latest there are ino STYLE IMAGE ARRANGE boxes.  On the menu there is ARRANGE but everything is greyed out, even when I highlight the text involved.  How do I delete the anchor point, please

    It is also possible for objects to hang out off the page, try lassoing them with the mouse and command key held down.

  • Moving anchor point with arrow keys crashes Photoshop CC

    Hey guys,
    I've recently run into this bug many times while working with shapes. Don't really know what initiates it but it's super annoying as it crashes the PS CC completely without possiblity of recovering the unsaved files.
    The bug appears while working with shapes after file is saved and reopened. Because I use to design pixel-perfect UIs, I work with arrow keys a lot to be sure every pixel is in the right place. So after selecting one or more anchor points of shape and hitting any arrow key (to move it by pixel), photoshop immediately crashes with this super-long description of bug: http://justpaste.it/ccshapecrash
    Dunno why but this occurs very often when handling 1px-thin rectangles.
    Is it only me or has anybody else experienced this as well? Any idea what exactly is causing it or what might be wrong with my config?
    Never seen that kind of error in Photoshop before. It completely destroys my everyday workflow

    I have exactly the same problem and I don't have any solution. I was tried to update the latest video drivers - nothing! Tried to update Photoshop which updates fixes bugs - nothing! The problem continues.
    My OS is Windows 8 64bit, video card Nvidia GT 630. For the case, my Photoshop 32x works better (faster) than the 64x. Why is that ? I hope to have a solution.

  • In Flash CS4, how do you select multiple anchor points across separate layers?

    I am talking about anchor points on a line, not a keyframe. They are also called "handles". I can select the anchor points as "white" quickly, but I can't get them to be "solid"without doing it layer by layer, which is tedious. What I want is way to select lines that are in different layers and get the points I selected in a way similar to the regular selection tool or free transform tool. I have been trying to do this all day and I can't find a good way to do this, and I would appreciate any help.
    Here is an image of what I'm trying to do, but more easily. The lines are on separate layers, but when I select them with the subselection tool I have to go layer by layer selecting the points. I'm trying to look for a very quick way of doing it. When I do select all with the subselection tool on, the anchor points are only "white" and not "solid" as shown below.

    Now you're post was a while ago and I still need a solution, but I have to say this. I didn't mean to be rude to you; it’s just that it doesn’t answer my question I specified in the original post. I know your intentions are good, but it frustrates me when someone doesn’t fully read a post and offers a solution, it sometimes gives a false impression that the problem is taken care of. Example of being "helpful": http://forums.adobe.com/message/2540277    Yes I know there is a “Yes, my question has been answered,” but you know they don’t always select it, and other people know that as well. But you are right; I should probably act a little bit nicer and reiterate what I’ve already said before, I’ll probably get more help from it. It just seems to be a simple feature that seems to be needed to be in the program. I didn't mean it takes forever to move, it takes forever to select multiple anchor points across, let's say 10 layers, so that's 10 different lines on 10 layers. You have to select each layer and then select the anchor points. If there is an away to select anchor points across all layers in one go please tell me. Maybe I was wrong, but I could’ve sworn I’ve seen ideas that were posted on here get taken into Adobe as a suggestion, but yes I submitted it as a suggestion to Adobe, but I wanted to confirm that there was no way of doing it first since it seems kind unbelievable because the regular selection tool works across multiple layers.

  • How to copy/paste anchor text box to its anchor point in text and delete all empty anchors?

    hi all
    i have a document of few pages but one story. The right column is the main text box and on many places anchored text boxes are placed which appeared on the left column as shown below.
    i want text of each anchor-text-box to be cut from its place and paste at its insertion/anchor point and delete all empty anchored boxes.
    I am trying since morning but i unable to reach anchor object reference. Any help on how to start with will be helpful.
    virender

    Ok, let's say you have one main text box (not anchored) and three text boxes that are anchored to text within it. The first one is anchored with text, the second one is unanchored, and the third one is empty (I'm not going to get into inline anchoring vs. custom anchoring since you didn't bring it up in your post).
    We cycle through the items on the page:
    function main(){
      var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
      var myPages = myDoc.pages.everyItem().getElements();
      for (var i = 0; i < myPages.length; i++){
        var myPage = myPages[i];
        //Checks that the page is valid, and that it is not a master page. If either is true, skips to the next page.
        if (myPage.isValid == false) continue;
        if (myPage.parent instanceof MasterSpread) continue;
        var myItems = myPage.allPageItems;
        for (var j = 0; j < myItems.length; j++){
          //Current item.
          var myItem = myItems[j];
          //If myItem doesn't have a Character parent, it is not anchored.
          //The first and third text frames would fail this test.
          if (!(myItem.parent instanceof Character)) continue;
          //We only care about text frames.
          if (!(myItem instanceof TextFrame)) continue;
          //I think the only way this would happen would be if you had an image or
          //something else unexpected within the frame. I check for it so no content
          //is inadvertently lost.
          else if (myItem.texts.length > 1) continue;
          //If we're still in this iteration of the loop, all qualifications are met.
          //Flatten the text frame.
          //I don't use layers that often so, to me, flatten makes sense. You may want
          //to use a different term if there's a chance for confusion.
          flattenItem(myItem);
    function flattenItem(funcItem)
         //Hold onto the anchor character.
        var myParent = funcItem.parent;
         //Duplicate the text from within the frame so that it appears right after the anchor.
         //There may be other methods, but this works for me. I try to avoid copy/paste
         //so as not to deal with any clipboard mishaps. I added a check in case of empties.
         if (funcItem.texts.length > 0){funcItem.texts[0].duplicate(LocationOptions.AFTER, myParent.insertionPoints[0]);}
         //Replace the anchor character itself with a space (or whatever) which also
         //deletes the text frame it was anchoring.
        myParent.contents = " ";
    I guess the takeaway might be that you're not looking at the main text frame and then checking to see if anything is anchored to it. You're looking at each text frame and figuring out if it is anchored. That's my approach, anyway.

  • How do you center a title's anchor point?

    I'm sure this is a simple question but I can't find anything in the forums that answer it.
    I have a text title I want to center in the frame (horizontally and vertically, with text center aligned), but for some reason the guides seem to be wrong.  The yellow lines don't meet at the center of the frame, they meet at another point that seems to change randomly.  And the round handle (anchor point?) of the text box appears on the first line of text, rather than the vertical center of the text box.  How do I reset this or change it?  It says my anchor points are at  x 0 y 0, but that doesn't look right.  All I want to do is center all my text boxes (both horizontally and vertically) within the frame.  I hope this makes sense.  Please see images.  Thanks!

    Are you sure that your settings in Video Inspector - Transform - Position  x =  0, y = 0 and not something else?
    I don't think you can set the move handle to be other than under the first line.
    Geoff.

  • How do you see a clip's anchor point?

    When working in the effect controls panel, I would like to move a clip/title's anchor point.  However, it doesn't do me much good if I can't see where that anchor point is.  In After Effects, there is a dot in the center of the image that indicates the anchor point.  Is there a way to make that show up in Premiere Pro CC?  Otherwise, I'm just stuck moving the coordinates with no visual frame of reference.

    In the effects control panel. click on the Motion effect to select it - then you should see the wireframe overlay appear, with the anchor point in the program monitor.

  • Why do I get an extra set of anchor points when I "Expand Appearance"

    When I use the expand appearance?  First I create a rectangle then I transform it vertical or horizontal I create 2 copies, then expand appearance. I see double the amount of anchor points.  I was trying to copy a youtube video and when they do it the amount of anchor points does not double. I am doing the expand appearance in order to use pathfinder tool shape mode unite in order to create shape inside.  The Youtube video I was trying to follow is below. Any help is appreciated! I kinda of got stuck inthe the very begining.

    Depending on what version of AI, what specific appearance is used and a couple of other things this may happen. Some are bugs, others logical like theprogram inserting extra points to retain the shape of paths. In any case, you can always remove extra points if they get in the way, though most likely you will see other unwanted points after the pathfinder operations, anyway.
