The Wikipedia of Internet mentions a B/W of 1,2 &4 Mbps for SD/720 & Full HD content streaming.
Apple require 4.5/6 &8 Mbps B/W for the same. Could any one elaborate?

1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

We are in a rush, and need to log one analog channel and one counter period measurement to disk simultaneoulsy using card controlled timing and set # of samples. Should be easy, but can't figure it out. Labview 6.1 we have & DAQ 6013E we just bought.

With regards to logging analog input data to file, I would suggest that you examine the examples available in the following location:
Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> DAQ >> Analog Input >> Stream to Disk
Because you are interested in a finite number of samples, you should look at Acq N Scans to File (wdt).vi.
With regards to logging period measurement data to file, I would suggest that you examine the following example:
Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> DAQ >> Counters >> DAQ-STC >> Measure Buffered Period (DAQ-STC).vi
This example does not log to file, but it does demonstrate how to program a buffered period measurement. You will need to add the logging functionality to this VI as demonstrated in Analog Input >> Stre
am to Disk.

Purchases continue to go missing...five years and counting.

Does anyone know why the purchases that were once in my cloud don't show up with the little cloud now? I have had the same Apple ID for more than 5 years. I have had at least 4 computers and other devices over those 5 years that I have synced to this account. I don't know why I keep making itunes purchases, because every time I get a new device, many of the purchases go missing. They are all there in my purchased list. On my last computer, there was a little cloud that I could click on to redownload. I have a new MacBook Air and now there is no cloud. Some purchases are there, but most aren't. Where are my movies, music, and books? Why do I keep sending money to California so they can take my purchases and throw them out any time they feel like it? I'm just a normal consumer who wants what she pays for. I have spent the last two hours of my day off searching through online communities trying to find an answer to what is now becoming an eternal question-where is my stuff? Why can't someone else invent a digital music platform that won't screw us over everytime we buy another one of THEIR products and tries to access our property?

I tend to agree. EE needs to hve less gimmicks and concentrate on getting the basics right.

SSRS report with tabular model – MDX query how to get the sum and count of measure and dimension respectively.

Over here, the data is being filtered always for current month and for a location that is being selected by user from a report selection parameter.
I would like to get the count of total no. of customers and sum of the amount measure.
When I am using them in calculated members it gives incorrect values. It considers all records (ignores the sub-select statements) instead of only the records of current month and selected location.
I also tried with EXISTING keyword in calculated members but there is not difference in output. Finally, I manage the same at SSRS level.
Can anybody please advise what are the ways to get the required sum of [Measures].[Amt] and count of [Customer].[Customer].[Customer Key].ALLMEMBERS dimension?
Also, does it make any difference if I manage it as SSRS level and not at MDX query level?
Any help would be much appreciated.

We can use SUM function and COUNT function to sum of [Measures].[Amt] and count of [Customer].[Customer].[Customer Key].ALLMEMBERS dimension. Here is a sample query for you reference.

Samplerate problem using Analog In and Counter In from a NI 6259 USB. "Counter timeout" setting in DAQmx?!

I got a fundamental problem with the correlation of the timer settings of the DAQmx driver in DIAdem DAQ. I dont know where the problem is located exactly but maybe someone can help me if I explain what happens:
In my configuration I use some analog inputs from a USB 6259 with 20kHz samplerate and two counter inputs for frequency measuring via DAQmx in DIAdem DAQ.
There has to be an extra DAQin block for the analog inputs and the counter inputs with also an extra "Clock"-block for each of them. The clock of the analog inputs runs with 20kHz hardware clock and the other one with 10Hz software clock because the hardware clock mode is not allowed or supported.
My problem is the display refresh rate in VIEW. If the counter signal has no input (because the measured system is not active) the display seems to wait for any input and doesnt refresh the analog values on screen. If the system is active and a rectangle signal is seen by the counter in, the display refresh rate raises and the frequency value is displayed more or less accurate. Has that something to do with the counter timeout setting in the DAQin driver options block (marked in the attached image)? If i decrease the timeout, the display refresh rate gets better but not as good as without using the counter inputs in my DAQ diagram. I think the counter input is not as easy to handle as the usual analog inputs... I only want to see the measured frequency on the display during the measurement without getting any influence on the analog input channels and their displaying.
The other problem is the display and the measurement of the frequency itself. If i check the function of the counter input in the Meas. & Automation Explorer the frequency is display correct without any dropouts or something like that. The signal I measure in DIAdem on the other side looks quite bad because there are spikes of some MHz and even more although the measured range is between 20 and 80Hz!
Has anybody made similar experiences?

Mixing and exporting for more than 8 channels and non-standard multichannel setups

I am trying to do something kind of unconventional, although I have seen people on the forums trying to do similar things. Unfortunately, it's unclear if they succeeded or not, and if they did, how.
I'm trying to figure out how to mix sound for an environment that has many (somewhere between 8 and 16) independent speakers, all connected to an audio interface. I know that WAV, AAC, and other audio file formats can carry that many channels and I can map them to the individual speakers. My question is how to edit/mix. Specifically,
Is this possible in Audition? It seems like it might be in CC, but not previous? (I have CS6.)
How do you set up the project file. When I create a new multitrack project, I can choose mono, stereo, or 5.1. The 5.1 option allows me to assign sounds to the five speakers in a standard 5.1 setup and the LFE. Is it possible mix for an environment with more than that? Or with a different configuration of speakers? In Audio MIDI Setup (for Windows people, that's where in OSX you set the more advanced audio preferences) I can configure up to 7.1 as well as geometric arrangements like quadrophonic, hexagonal, and octagonal. Is it possible in Audition to mix for anything like these?
There have been some threads where people talk about using 16 discrete outputs in Audition. How is this possible? Is each track able to be routed to a different output? If so, is it possible to write a file that has all of these tracks assigned to their discrete output channels?
Is it possible to nest audio sessions like you can nest Premiere sequences? For example, can I create a multitrack project with mono output and have that session be embedded into another multitrack session or do I have to finish editing the first one and write a file from it to use it in another project? Can buses be used to do this? What I'm wondering is if what I describe in #3 above IS possible, then how to have more than just a single pre-made audio file going to each of the outputs, to allow me to mix each channel with various sounds.
Sorry that's a few questions, but they all revolve around how to work with multi-channel sound that isn't stereo or 5.1.

As you have probably gathered, this is effectively a work in progress...

If you have a multichannel sound device, and all the outputs are visible to Audition, then yes, each track can be assigned directly to a different output. And if you set one up, you can do this with buses as well...

It's not possible to nest sessions at present in any version, and this has been asked about before. There are some significant issues with this, mainly to do with things like sample rates, output formats, etc. Doesn't mean that it won't happen, but don't hold your breath... As I said, there's a workaround, and yes, it's buses. Since you can effectively submix to a bus, and the bus output can go directly to hardware, then you can do what you want. The compromise is that in order to save the overall result, you'll end up with all of your source files, and a session file. And you'll have to play the whole thing back in Audition, rather than export it to a single file and be able to play it on a multichannel player. But yes, it should work.

Are AI single scan and counter control wait incompatible??

System: LabVIEW RT on 8175 controller with 6052E PXI DAQ card. LabVIEW 6.1 on Win 2000 as the development environment.
I have an application requiring GPS synchronized hardware loop timing for the time critical thread. The loop controls a variety of functions including analog output, simple event counting and analog inputs from several channels. Analog output and counter sub-vis work great in this type of loop.
However, implementing AI single scan in a loop using counter control wait disrupts the loop timing counter. The loop completes only one iteration and then generates a timeout error. The attached vi represents a simple implementation that I think should work, but doesn't. Can anyone tell m
e what I'm doing wrong?? I haven't yet located any specific information on this topic in the discussion forum.

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, I can't open your attachment since it's version 7 and I only have version 6.1. But I know what you're saying.
I'd really like to know why the test vi I submitted doesn't work. It crashes my system every time with a timeout error on the counter. Remove the AI single scan node and the loop runs fine. And of course, AI single scan works fine in a different loop using something like "wait till next ms multiple" timing. But when I put the two together they crash.
I didn't mention much about the GPS sync, but you're correct that I'm using a disciplined 10 kHz pulse signal from my GPS timecode generator as the source for the loop control counter. I also have a 6608 counter card with a real time clock synched to I
RIG-B providing timestamps for each loop iteration. Besides AI, other tasks which must occur within the loop are setting an analog output and reading/resetting an event counter. Everything except the AI works fine.
I suppose I can use the same pulse train driving the loop timing for the AI scan clock. I'll give that a try and see what happens. It's just that the AI single scan seemed like an easier implementation.
Maybe someone at NI can tell me why the AI and counter wait aren't working?? Do I have a hardware/driver problem or is this a fundamental incompatibility??

8 Engineers and counting
11-Feb-2011   Engineer #8 visits. No fault found, said service has been capped. Engineer phones to have cap removed but cannot get through. Installs new master socket and radio filter on line to 'see what happens'. Get callback from BT asking if speed is ok. When informed it is not I am told it should get better over 48 hours.
          After 48 hours speed is still the same and informed that BT will ‘monitor the fault’.
18-Feb-2011   Phone them for progress update and am told they are still ‘monitoring’
20-Feb-2011   Am told an engineer needs to call.
21-Feb 2011   Engineer #9 visits. FAULT FOUND. Something back towards the server is stopping the engineer from syncing. While trying to locate the fault it disappears and he can now sync at 4.7mb. Contacts control in Swansea and arranges a ‘Lift and Shift’, which means changing the exchange equipment and rerouteing to the server. Sync drops to 2mb. Contacts control again and is told to give it a couple of days to lift itself.

31-May-2011 Had a email from Mod on 16th confirming that my Sync speed was now
                    4928 Kbps and a profile of 4000 Kbps. Not as good as the 4500 Kbps
                    profile the engineer got but I could live with it.

                    it being the most I can expect, even after they checked the fault history
                    and they could see the speed I have been getting. Finally got them to deal

hi, i am in seruios trouble. I am doing photon counting using a PMT. so the TTL pulses come at random and the i canhave 1e6pulses/sec tp 1pulse per sec kind of TTL pulses. I need to count them with an accuracy of [ time bins ] 50 microseconds. I am not able to do this with all the possible examples i have seen on labview site as well as that which come with labview package. everything shows some or other error. I have been using labview for analog I/O for about 2 years and have done the most i could understnad but to of no use. does anyone have a sample program ? now the bogger problem is that while counting these TTL pulses i ALSO have to do an analog output [ say a triang
ular wave on AO channel ]. I was wondering that if i just add the AO vi's in the counting programme will they interfere with each other ? [ I have a very crude counting program which atleast gives me millisec accuracy limited by for-while loops ]or i shd trigger start them together [ counting and AO] and some how make sure that they do not interfere with eacht other. If anyone could help me with either or both program..i'll be very grateful.

A simple event counting example can count TTL pulses for you pretty easily. If you have an E-Series board, the DAQ-STC counter/timer uses a 20 MHz timebase, so your pulses must be separated by at least 50 nanoseconds. The 660x family of counter/timer boards use an 80 MHz timebase giving you a tighter window of 12.5 nanoseconds.
For your second problem, it's best to use dataflow and enforce a well-defined execution sequence. In other words, wire the error clusters such that AO always executes after (or before) your counter operation.
In fact, you must enforce serial execution of DAQ VIs to avoid blocking if you are using Traditional NI-DAQ. If you are using the new DAQmx, DAQ operations are supposedly non-blocking in many scenarios. I have not tried to ve
rify that for myself so be cautious if you plan to run AO and counter code in parallel.

Upconvert Stereo to Five Channel with DDTS-100?

I'm using the DDTS-100 to share a speaker system between Windows Media Center and a Dolby Digital enabled high definition DirecTV DVR. I don't find any control that allows you to upconvert a standard two channel audio source to a five channel system. On Windows media players, this is a standard feature. In Windows Media Player they call this "SRS Wow". On the Creative Audigy setup they call this CMSS. This is probably the single most basic feature I would expect any Dolby decoder to offer, as a way to offer a cheap expansion of low quality sound sources, to at least fill all the speakers with some kind of sound balance.
Is there any way to get the DDTS-100 to expand a two channel source to five channel? I tried all of the modes for output, and none of them did this. Quite bizarrely, there is a mode that lets you upconvert a five channel system to six channel. How they could have remembered to implement something that esoteric but have forgotten to implement a two to five channel conversion (which would benefit about 95% of the potential market for the product) is strange.

It appears that the Neo:6 setting is working well on most two channel content to upconvert to five channels. But it just by bad luck happens that the content I was originally using (a Spanish language channel 429 on DirecTV) does *not* upconvert to five channel but remains on two channels. Would this indicate the source is mono rather than stereo? Will Neo:6 only upconvert two channels to five and have no effect at all on a mono source?

Logical Channels and Opening An Application

Hello,
Upon sending an APDU to a Java Card (a GEM card) to open a channel, it works fine. But when I try to select an application on that new logical channel which is in the secured state, it always gives back an error, but I can select that same application from the basic channel. Do I need to do something else besides simply opening the new logical channel to let it be able to select applications in the secured state?

Yes I'm sure the card supports multiple logical channels, I've checked the historical bytes, and am able to open the number of logical channels the historical bytes say I should.
I can select other applications on the new logical channel and send commands to them, that works fine. When selecting a secured application, it fails with error code. In particular, I'm trying to select the card manage application, and that fails. Although this shouldn't be necessary, I make sure the basic channel doesn't have the card manager selected also:
Log:
Warm Reset Card
Open Logical Channel 1

Response: 90 00
Select some other App on the Basic Channel:

To sum up: Open a new logical channel, select some other app on the basic channel, try to select the card manager on the new logical channel, it fails. If I then reselect the card manager on the basic channel, it works fine. I can select other non-secured apps on the new logical channel, and that works fine too. In any of the cases I mention, I ensure that only one channel is trying to select an app, so that I'm not worrying about the issue of whether an app is multi-selectable.
I've been wrestling and googling this for hours with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to continue to play and sync the music you purchased with your old account, you'll need to authorize your new computer/iTunes library to do so. You can do this by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer and then entering in your old account credentials.
That's all you should need to. Then just create your own account and start purchasing and using it the same you have with the old one.

I closed then reopened my navigation toolbar using the Alt button. When it re-opened the add-ons(?) that were on it were no longer there. I'm specifically looking for two add-ons that took me to "Major Television channels" and "Minor television channels".

I would be content just to have the add-ons back, the one that allowed me to view ABC, NBC, CBS and a handful of other channels, and the one that connected me to the National Geographic channel and I believe some of the Discovery, etc channels . I can get to the Nat Geo if I go through my history but most of the other channels I can't. I've had MozFire on my computer for a while but mainly used Google Chrome until last week when I decided to check out MozFire. As has happened in the past I found myself really liking this program and wondering why I haven't been using it all along.

Check this post, the dial assist is part of the iOS 7.1, according to page 49 of the iphone_user_guide
Make calls to your contacts and favorites while traveling abroad. (GSM) Go to Settings > Phone and turn on Dial Assist. Dial Assist automatically adds the prefix or country code for calls to the U.S.
This user had a similar problem and solved it by switching off the dial assist feature in Settings/Phone/Dial Assist
