  • Error Message when installing adobe reader 9.1

I have a relatively new HP Pavilion dv6936us Entertainment Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I cannot get adobe reader installed.  I always get an error message or it says the install was interrupted.  VERY frustrating!  Please help.  I have tried the automatic download.  Also, the screen says " if download does not start automatically click here to download" and I have tried that too.  Neither work.

Try being sure you are logged in as the administrator and have anti-virus turned off. Other than that, you should go to the Reader forum for that product.

  • Error 1406 when installing Adobe Reader 10

    We have rolled out Adobe Reader 10 to about 300 workstations.  About 6 of them so far are failing to install due to a 1406 Error see;
Another error of the same flaver follows this one, but does not list a key name.
When deploying with GP it simply fails.  If installed mannualy and the errors are ignored it appears to still work.  When looking at the registry it appears there is no 18DF081C... key to write the NoExplorer value to.  These machines do not have Reader installed according to the Add/Remove Programs.  I do know that at one time Reader 8 was installed.  I suspect that the first time through with this GPO it removed the old reader.  I am guessing there is some kind of trash left someplace.  I have tried a registry cleaner, but it did not help.  Anyone run into this?
    Thanks,
    Bobby

Webroot anti-virus is the problem.  I went to a machine that I was unable to
install Reader 10 on and first removed Webroot.  It installed just fine.
I need to find out how to modify setting on Webroot to not interfere with the install.  If anyone knows I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks JainAkshat

  • Error 1321 while installing Adobe Reader X (10.0.1)

I couldn't find the answer in previous discussions:  I have Vista and have just tried to install the new Reader.  I've turned off the McAfee firewall and antispam, used both Firefox and IE browsers, and grant permission to "Continue" when asked by Vista to download, but still get "Error 1321.  The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\Services\Services.cfg."
    What gives?

This was the answer for me. Thank you.

  • Internal Error 2356 while installed Adobe Reader 9

It keep said Internal Error 2356: Data1.cab while download and installed the Adobe Reader 9, then failed installed.
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic (SP1)32-bit
    Compaq/HP,processor: Intel Celeron, 430 @ 1.80Ghz, RAM: 1.00 GB
    Printer: Lexmark X5070 (5000 Series)

You might be able to find it if you search Goggle. The error codes are not in a list that is generally available to users and thus trying to find someone who has run up on it is probably your best idea, other than calling Adobe and paying their fees. The typical message is "Information on msi error 2356: Couldn't locate cabinet in stream." and is reported as a MS installer error. It may be that your download is corrupt.
However, the proper place to ask the question is the Reader forum as John said since those are the folks that have done the same download. The folks here use Acrobat, though a few may have also done the download that you mention.

  • Error 2331 when installing Adobe Reader 10.1.3

Adobe automatic updater notified me that I had an update to install. I tried installing it, and got the following message:
Error 2331. Error loading library MSPATCHA or finding entry point ApplyPatchToFileByHandlesEx
I tried Microsoft Fixit, no change. I uninstalled Adobe Reader from Control Panel Add/Remove Software and downloaded Adobe Reader X again, and it won't install--I get the same Error 2331.

One more suggestion; can you try to download and run the MSI installer?
    10.1.0 installer: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi
    10.1.3 update: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.3/misc/AdbeRdrUpd1013.msp
If you still get errors, please tell us your Windows version and service pack level.

I have never seen such a thing; where are you trying to download the Reader from?
Anyway, try this direct download http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.4.0/en_US/AdbeRdr940_en_US.exe

  • Error 160400 when installing adobe reader

I got a hint there was an update available. I downloaded the update and when installing I got the message: error 160400.
How can I solve this problem?
    I am using windows vista.

    Hi,
The error is related to the failure to access Windows Service information.
It would be helpful if you could provide your current Reader version.
Depending on what you have installed, there are different updates available here- http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html
You can download appropriate Update directly and install it without Updater.
Meanwhile, would it be possible for you to send me a content of the Updater log file?
    The file name is AdobeARM.log
It can be found in the folder below on Vista systems:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp
