Twitter and iMessage duplicate notifications

I have an issue where Twitter and iMessage both deliver the same notification. I can't find the culprit to just allow Twitter ios app to deliver the notification without iMessage giving me a duplicate notification of the exact same thing.
**To be clear, it is not the repeat option. The notifications are not repeating -- I'm getting duplicates of each notification - once from Twitter app, once from iMessage, both at the same time. Help!

This suggestion from someone else worked for me:
"Settings - Notifications - Messages - Show iMessage Alerts From:
Change from Everyone to My Contacts Only
Works because Twitter isn't in your contacts list, therefore you no longer get the double notification."

Hi everyone, here is my "issue".
I disabled Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn from notification center (their account are still enabled).
Anyway, every time I reboot, they come back enabled bothering me with notifications.
Is there a way to permanently disable them even after reboots?

and Eric, I did that already, I delelted his account and still have it on notification.
I also added my one already, and notification center shows my one and his one together. I don't know why.

Tried restoring iphone and still did not work. Only receiving notications when i go into the app, and sometimes it just has the number of "messages" in the corner of the icon. Please help!

Have you checked the notification center for making sure those apps have the banner/notification turned on?

Twitter and Facebook in Notification Centre

On the new iphone 5, how do I get the "Tap to Tweet" and "Tap to Post" tabs on the Notification centre page? I am signed in on the accounts. (See page 28 of the user guide)

Yes, Facebook and Twitter are defined & enabled. I'm able to send out Tweets and Post to Facebook from Notification Centre.

No Twitter and Facebook Notifications

There's still no sign of Twitter and Facebook push notifications appearing following the introduction of Notifications in ios5.
All the settings in Notifications for these apps are set correctly and I have the latest versions of the apps. I'm getting other
notifications - Mail, Calendar etc - but no Facebook or Twitter.
One other question on this. Assuming this does get to work, exactly what notifications should be received? For example, is it just Direct Messages
on Twitter rather than posts by people you follow? Same question with Facebook.

Here is my experience with this issue.
First of all, I have an iPhone 4S (my first iPhone), and when I first got my iPhone in the mail and installed Facebook (fb) I was getting my fb notifications without any issues. Then after installing others apps and receiving updates, all the sudden I stopped receiving my fb notifications via fb app. The only way that I would get fb notifications was by e-mail, but I soon realized this was going to be so annoying. Thereafter, I decided to search online and see if there other customers with iPhones were having the same issues I had encountered. Surprisingly enough, I found this thread. After reading all of your comments herein, the first thing I did was to delete my fb app from my iPhone. Secondly, I deleted my fb app from my previous smartphone (bb), and thereafter, I downloaded fb onto my Mac through iTunes, and from there to my iPhone. I can now say, that thus far this has resolved my issue, and I'm now getting fb notifications on my iPone via the fb app.

I seem to be having the same problem on my brand new iPhone 4S. Everything was working fine on the phone until I updated to iOS 5.1.1, but now I no longer receive push notifications for the native Mail app, Instagram, or the Facebook app. I still seem to be receiving SMS texts and iMessages via push, but the aforementioned apps need to be opened before I can receive missed notifications (having them open in the background seems to make no difference).

did you try notifications under settings? You can customize it as per your requirement, for each application.

Push notifications and iMessage won't work on iPod 4th gen refurbished after updating to last ear iOS

My iPod has been working well for a while other than the battery draining very quickly. But just today I updated to iOS 6.1.3 and all of a sudden iMessage won't deliver the messages and my push notifications aren't showing up! I don't know what is making this happen, but this along with the battery issue is driving me crazy!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Try turning off the following to conserve battery:
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Push>OFF
Settings>Notifications>Mail>Gmail>Notification Center>OFF
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Off

Can't get the little post sheet for twitter and facebook in the notification center

I used to post from my notification bar but now they down open when i click on them, both facebook and twitter post.
Tried logging out and changing the share widget button in setting>notification.
Working on MBP 2012 OS X 10.8.4

I am facing the similar issues on my OSX 10.8.4, I have tried to delete and add the FB and twitter account back, but no luck. I also went to activity monitor and quit the notification, still no go. Looks like a bug issue. Any one aware of the fix, pls help. I really do not want to reinstall the OS.

Twitter and Notification Center

So I just got a notifcation that someone @replied me, so I click on it and install of launching the Twitter app on my Mac, it launches Safari and asks me to log into the Twitter website. Is there any way, either using the GUI or via command lines in Terminal to tell Notification Center to launch the Twitter app when I click on a Twitter notifcation?

I have an issue that I'm hoping you all can resolve. I love the new Twitter integration into OS X, however, I have a slight issue. Let's say I get a mention from Twitter and I'm not at my computer, but on my iPhone. I just that mention (reply, ignore, etc) and I'm done. It goes away from my notification center in iOS. However, when I go log into my Macbook Air, the notifications are still there, all 15 mentions or whatever I got the whole day. This is very annoying, I don't need to see it on my notification center anymore on OS X---I've seen the tweet via iOS.
Is there any way to get the notification centers to sync or something?

ok for facetime and imessage go into settings turn them off make sure to make an icloud backup and then go to settings general erase all content and settings and then set it up from the backup it should activate your imessage and facetime

Presuming the Post is about the Messages app and iMessages.
If you delete them they are gone or the Mac.
An iMessages arrives and is displayed in the App.
there is a setting in the Preferences > General section about Saving on Close.
The iMessages are also stored in the chat.db items (unless deleted) and this provides the "history" when you reconnect to a contact who is not currently on display in the main window.
In Mavericks Saved Chats and the chat.db items (there are three in total) are held in different places.
The app does not work like Mail where the emails can be left on the Server and "read" by other devices.
The iMessages are pushed to the devices that then accepts them.
After that the "sync" function ends (What you do with the iMessages on one device is not seen or changed on another)

1. Make sure software is up to date
2. Make sure FaceTime is enabled; Settings>FaceTime
3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo

I recently downloaded the ios7 and now my notifications won't work, I've tried everything

I downloaded the iOS7 two days ago, and my push notifications don't seem to work at all. When my friends message me on kik, whatsapp or iMessage i don't receive anything. I've tried rebooting, changing the wifi setting to 8.8.8.8, connecting it to my computer, resetting the settings and I'm still in the same situation.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated as this is very frustrating.

Is there a fix for iMessage banner notifications in iOS 8.1 freezing the keyboard, and making the phone non-responsive while receiving messages?
I have a Verizon iPhone 6 - 128gb Space Gray
While I'm receiving banner notifications for iMessage, my phone will lock up until the notification banner clears. If I'm in the middle of typing, the keyboard will lock up and then resume back to normal once the banner goes away. No matter what task I'm doing with the iPhone, it will freeze up until the notification goes away. The touch screen becomes unresponsive. To be clear, the banner notifications are not freezing themselves. They go away on their own. But while they come in, it renders the phone useless for that 3 second time frame.
The only temporary fix I've found for this issue is to turn off iMessage notifications all together, or just turn off banner notifications for iMessage. This has to be a software issue in 8.1 and needs to be resolved ASAP.
I've troubleshooted every known possibility.
* Reset network setting = Didn't work.
* Reset all settings = Didn't work.
* Wipe Phone completely and start as new (did not restore from back up) = Didn't work.
* Restore as new from iTunes (did not restore from back up) = Didn't work.
* Visited apple store and received a replacement = Didn't work.

With SCSM 2012 R2, we notice that we're getting duplicate notification emails when assigning Incidents to a user. We hadn't noticed this behaviour prior to updating to R2. Are there logs that we can check to see what triggers the duplication

Hi,
You need to figure out what happens. Please check the settings of the notifications workflows (two templates assigned). The most probable case is that you have two workflows sending the notifications to assigned analysts.
