Two alarms (emails) from one calendar event

My events that have an email alarm set send me two email notices: one from my comcast address and one from my mobile me account. Is this because I am synching my calendar events to mobile me? Is there any way to get exactly one email notice?

Are you syncing the iPod to the same computer/iTunes library you have always synced it with?
Are these newly purchased songs configured to sync to your iPod? Double check what options you have enabled from under the iPod's Music and Summary tab. For example, if you have the Sync only checked songs option ticked from under the iPod's Summary tab, make sure these newly purchased tracks have tick marks next to them in your main iTunes library and then resync your Nano.

Moving events from one calendar to another

Is it possible to move events from one calendar to another?
Here is our scenario:
User abc123 has set up a calendar abc123:boardroom for other users to book slots in the board room (he didn't know about resource calendars at the time and so didn't request one be created).
Now abc123 is leaving the company, so his calendars are going to disappear, along with all the bookings for the board room.
So my question is, can these events (and tasks) be moved to another calendar?
I've tried creating a resource calendar and exporting/importing the calendar data, but this appears to leave the organizer of each event set as abc123:boardroom, with the result that the owner of the new resource calendar cannot modify the imported events.
Maybe I'm missing something blindingly obvious here, but there doesn't seem to be any way to actually move events from one calendar to another. Does anyone have any advice as to how I might achieve this?

here is one way:
Click on a meeting to get a Compose window. In the upper right Calendar box, click on the dropdown icon and select the calendar you want to move to from the list. Click on OK to save.
Of course, if you have a lot of meetings to move, this will be a pain, but it does work.
Note: before you do this, make sure you are an "owner" of the calendars(s) you want to move meetings to (or otherwise have access), and are subscribed to those calendars.

I sent some emails from one of my email accounts and now it shows that these emails have been simultaneously sent from two of my email accounts

I sent a few emails from one of my accounts that are set up in my Thunderbird. Now I see that they have been sent from two of my accounts, simultaneously. It shows them in both Sent folders and with the respective email address as sender.
Those email accounts have been set up in my Thunderbird for a long time now and have been working correctly until now.
How can I prevent this from happening again? I don't want to send people messages from two different emails at the same time.
I'd appreciate any help on this.

In my case, TB is sending a copy of all my sent mail to the account that is associated with the smtp server. I have four accounts that I check via TB and the sent mail is being kept in the original folder and also in the sent folder of the account to which the smtp server is connected. If I change the smtp server from one gmail account to another, the sent mail follows. I then have two copies of the sent email, one in the original folder and one in the smtp server account's sent folder. I only want the one in the original folder. How do I stop the sent email from also being saved in the smtp account sent folder?

Have problem setting Email alerts for Calendar events. Warning message says I need to set up a card in Contacts with my email. I do but it doesn't recognize it. How do I indicate the email I want alerts sent to?

The system of setting up email alerts for Calendar events worked fine in Snow Leopard but since I upgraded to Mt. Lion Calendar won't let me set email alerts. When I try, I get an error message saying I need to set up a card in Contacts for my email. I have a card set up in Contacts for both of my email addresses but it doesn't recognize them. Perhaps the name I have on the card doesn't match a name that Calendar is looking for. Calendar doesn't seem to have a way in Preferences or elsewhere to indicate the email I want alerts sent to. Any ideas how I can get this system working again? Thanks for your help.

Email from *one sender* shows up twice (but isn't delivered twice)

Today the emails from one particular sender started showing up twice in the view pane of Mac Mail. They aren't delivered twice - just show up as though two copies have come in. If I delete one copy then both disappear.
There is nothing special about this particular sender - she is not a "VIP". We have been corresponding for several weeks without anything odd happening.
I'm running 10.9.5 on my MBP and use POP accounts in Mail. The account to which she is using to contact me is via my personally-owned domain. I receive hundreds of emails on a daily basis to that email address and have no issues with other senders. She is using her personally-owned domain for email as well.
Any ideas on what is happening?
For what it's worth, since upgrading to this OS Google Chrome - particularly when using Facebook or performing Google searches - has slowed dramatically. I'll address that in a separate post but thought it was worth mentioning here in case it's related.

See my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers. Certain combinations of data can cause iPods to display multiple albums even when iTunes doesn't.
Alternatively there may have been a syncing issue which left orhpaned entries in the iPods database. Try swiping across the album and deleting both copies, then resyncing.

Getting suspicious email from one source

Over the last two weeks, I've received 3 emails from one source called "root" with nothing on the subject line. The sender's address is: <[email protected]>
How do I find out who this is and what it's purpose? The email has nothing in body content, either. (Googling this address didn't work either)

May not be possible to learn more, but with the message open, click on View, place the cursor on Message and choose Long Headers to see if the Return Path or other headers give you any more info.
You might also examine the Raw Source, but not likely to provide much more than the Long Headers in this case.

I am sending an email from one account on iphone 4s but the replies are coming into another account on my phone

I have had an iphone 4s for about a year and have 4 email accounts that come in on it: verizon, gmail, my work, and icloud. Periodically, I send an email from one account, it shows the message as sent from that account in my sent mail, but the recipient receives it from the gmail account and therefore replies to the gmail. Has anyone had this happen? It is almost as if my messages are bouncing into gmail when I send them, although on my phone it shows as having been sent from another account. I have not had this happen on my computer where I have all of these emails coming in as well. I thought perhaps it was me not being careful about which account I was sending from when using my phone, but the mail I sent this morning I was very careful to make sure was from verizon, the sent mail on my phone shows it was sent from verizon, and the reply came in on gmail. Gmail isn't even the default email address- verizon is! My iphone is using version 6.1.3. Does anyone have any ideas? This is a major problem for me so I appreciate any ideas! Thank you!!!

I am not sure whether this is related, but I had a problem with Gmail where each time I sent and email via my iPhone it would bounce back in my Gmail account as unread. You migh want to check this Google article explaining why this happens and how to avoid it:

Apple Mail : Move emails from one account to another

Good Day,
I please need help with Apple Mail. A client of mine recently changed her email address from her webhost to online exchange. I setup her new email in Apple Mail and that is all working and nice.
Her Apple mail now shows 2 accounts:
- the old IMAP
- the new Exchange
I would like to consolidate all emails from her old IMAP account to her new Exchange account, so that they are all in one place. In Outlook you can just drag and drop emails and folders between the accounts, but my client says that that doesn't work in Apple Mail.
How would I go about moving these emails from one email account within Apple Mail to another?
Sorry for the trivial question, but I am a Windows girl and not as versed in Mac;)

Try creating a new mailbox in the On My Mac section and drag the e-mails there. Mail/Mailbox/New Mailbox.

Continued use.
Export each mailbox from the old machine to the desktop, to do so select a mailbox, rght click and choose Export, repeat for all others. Move the mailboxes to the new machine'sdesktop.
I suggest setting up the new accounts before importing the mail from the old machine.
In mail choose File>Import Mailboxes, choose the ones on the desktop (one at a time) a new mailbox will appear in Mail called Imported, you can move mail from there back to the correct mailbox in the POP accounts.

Transfer items from one calendar to another (on iMac)

I have a question: how can you transfer all the items from one calendar into another calendar? I thought I had come up with an ingenious solution, but it didn't work (see below).
Years ago, I set up a calendar for my wife and I to use as a "family" calendar. After uploading iOS8, I decided to try transfer all the calendar items from our "family" calendar to the newly created Family calendar. I used the Export command to export all the items in the "family" calendar, and then the Import command to bring them into the Family calendar. BAD IDEA. I got a dialog box telling me the items could not be imported because they were already on the iCloud calendar. This dialog box had to be dismissed by choosing either "Ignore", "Try Again", or "Revert to Server". This dialog box popped up FOR EVERY CALENDAR ITEM. At first I thought I was in an endless loop. I finally put a stapler on my keyboard to hold down the Return key to dismiss the dialog boxes. Even then, it took several minutes to clear the dialog boxes. Apparently, I learned how NOT to transfer items from one calendar to another.

Okay. I have answered my question. The key is to actually read and follow Apple's instructions (i.e. delete the original calendar AFTER exporting it, but BEFORE importing it into the new calendar.)

New Update Will Only Allow Me To Read Email From One Address

I have 3 separate email accounts on my iphone. Before the update today (Oct 7th, 2013) they all were sent to the one inbox together, or I could access them individually if needed. Now, I only have access to emails from one address. I have notifications on my homepage of unread email but cannot access them, I even sent a test email from one adress to the other and I didn't get the email. This is all after I evenutally figured out how to add my address options back in to the 'from section' when writng a new email. Frustrating when it was such a good system before and now everything is messed up. How do I get all my emails from my different address back into the one inbox?

If I empty the trash of library #1, will it affect the same photos that were moved to library #2? I moved over 2,000 photos to create library #2. Their names are showing in the trash of library #1.

Are your images referenced or managed? If your partial libraries are referencing the same original files as the library you exported them from, be careful. Deleting the orignal on one library #1can delete it from the library #2. But if your originals are managed by Aperture inside the Aperture library, you can delete them.
I moved over 2,000 photos to create library #2. Their names are showing in the trash of library #1.
If you are not sure about referenced or managed, select one of the images you want to keep in the library where they are not in the Trash, then use the command "File > Show in Finder". If you can reveal them in the Finder, they are referenced and probably are shared between your libraries.
Or turn on "badge referenced files" in the Preferences > Appearance settings. Then your referenced images will show arrow badges.

VersaMail on TX crashes / resets on email from one sender

Hi; My VersaMail crashes and soft reboots my TX when I attempt to open or delete emails from one particular sender. VersaMail works fine with email from other senders. The only way I have found to get rid of this person's emails is to delete my email account from the TX and recreate a new account. An ideal solution will be a way to delete corrupt emails from VersaMail without having to delete the entire account. Other than requesting this person never send me an email again, I will appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

Since this issue is happening from specifc sources, safe to say its content in the e-mail the PDA cannot read. Couple basic things to cover:
1. Make sure to have at least 4mb free space on PDA.
2. Try another mail provider like gmail to fwd these e-mails there and have the PDA retrieve them via that acct to see how that fairs.
Afterwards Id like to know:
1. How big are these e-mails?
2. Do they have attachments? If so what are they and how big are they?
3. In the Versamail preferences under Delivery Options, are you:
a. Getting the entire message?
b. Auto downloading attachments checked?
c. Maximun message size still at 5kb or has that been increased?
d. Message format in HTML or Text?
4. These e-mails adds?
5. These e-mails loaded with alot of pictures and/or other flashy content?
For troubleshooting, Id like to have the Message format changed from HTML to Text to make those e-mail less complex to see how that fairs. Next thing is make sure your only getting the e-mail header first rather the whole e-mail in preferences. This could save you from replication and sudden loss of memory on PDA. Keep me posted.
