Two amex approvals, one on hold, should I cancel the hold application?

Hey everyone, This is my second little "spree". Fico score is around 780-790 according to credit karma. I applied for the Blue Cash Everyday and was instantly approved with a 20k starting limit. I then applied for the Amex Gold Delta skymiles and was told to call in because they wanted to speak with me. I called and they told me that application was put on hold for 5 days because of their system and to call back then to see if it'll get approved. No credit report was pulled yet for the Delta Gold but they will when the application goes through on the 5th day.. I then applied for the Amex PRG and was instantly approved. Now i'm considering canceling the Gold Delta Skymiles because I'm satisifed with getting the PRG and BCE combo. What do you guys think I should do? I don't need the Gold Delta Skymiles and i'd rather not take the hard pull. The only thing holding me back is the affect on my credit score by canceling the application while it's on hold and also the 35k bonus points.

well, if you can handle all the bonus spend requirements, that's the first consideration.if they haven't started with the HP yet, you could call in to exctly verify that, then request the Delta card app to be cancelled.Do you fly Delta at all? That card is a nice set of perks if you do, even 1-2 times per year. The final consideration is that there are a few folks reporting 60k Delta targeted offers. 35k is fine, but you may want to ice this app to try to see if they'll send you a 60k offer. No certainty that will happen, of course, but if you take the 35k you can't get the 60k. I don't know what effect cancelling the app has on the overall scheme of bonus miles awards, however. Hopefully it would be a clean quit. lots of uncertainty in this situation. Good luck, and congratulations on the PRG and high SL for BCE.

You can currently only buy the current version Aperture 3.4.3 at the AppStore, and that version requires MacOS X 10.7.5. at least, see the release notes: Aperture 3.4.3
So you will not be able to install this version on your Snow leopard machine. Maybe you can buy a boxed retail version of an earlier release, compatible with Snow Leopard, but the newer version is faster and compatible with iCloud.
Do your iMacs both have the same processors and memory? You will wan to use your fastest mac with the best graphics card and the most RAM to run Aperture, also a large screen would be desirable.

I have a 3 year old MacBook Pro with MAC OSX 10.6.8, iPhoto ’09 version 8.1.2 and have downloaded two software programs: one is Aperture 3.2 and the other is Photoshop Elements 9 (which I got from a friend who didn’t need it).
I am totally happy with the way iPhoto organizes my photos and how I can work with iMovie to create slide shows with music from iTunes, etc.
I have been shooting mostly high resolution jpegs and I continue to learn more and more about photography, post processing etc. I realize that the small adjustments I can make in iPhoto are good, and are adequate most of the time. However, a have started to experiment with shooting RAW images and would like to go the next step, ie. post processing.I am totally technically challenged and need SIMPLE, INTUITIVE programs and am certainly NOT anywhere ready for Photoshop CS whatever!
After having these programs sit on my computer, I decided to try to see if I could figure them out. When I opened Aperture, this is what first comes up.

I have heard horror stories about moving your entire library to Aperture, ending up with 2 libraries, etc. etc. hence my previous reluctance in attempting Aperture. In addition, many of my photography friends are saying: Go with Lightroom 3.....you’ll love it!
So here is my dilemma. I don’t want to mess around with my iPhoto library. All I want to be able to do, is to isolate a few photos, export them to Aperture, Elements, and work on them there, then bring them back into iPhoto.
Can I do this? Should I forget about Aperture and Elements and look at purchasing yet another program like Lightroom?

Export those few photos via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop. Then import them into the Aperture library. That would keep one copy in your iPhoto library and another in your Aperture library to edit, etc.
You can use Photoshop Elements 9 from within iPhoto as your editor of choice. However, if you edit a raw file in iPhoto with PSE9 the resulting edited version must be saved outside the iPhoto Library and imported back in as a new file. For editing jpegs just do a Save (not a Save As) and it all will be kept within iPhoto.
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

If I understand your question correctly, you are attempting to merge your contacts from your previous phone's backup into your iCloud account, then go back to using your new phone as normal, with the new merged database of contacts. I have an article that can tell you how to do exactly that:

HT1414 i give up. ive tried to update my wife's iphone. each time after an hour or two, i get a message that it is cancelling the backup. it wont update.

well, i finally made it thru the maze that is apple security, matched all the password rules, and never using the same password twice only to be shut down again when i tried to update my wife's iphone. after two hours i get a message that says its cancelling the back up. No other messages or errors or anything. Just cancelling the backup. This has happened consistently 5 times.
Do these updates work for anyone?
What is necessary.

The update requires approximately 3GB of storage space.
Tap Settings > General > About
Swipe down. You'll see: Available
If it's less than 3GB's you need to delete apps, photos, etc to free up storage space in order to udpate to iOS 7.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if the email contents show when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Okay, there are two accounts on one computer, and my account is the main one though ever since, I've been having issues with downloading new songs and apps onto my iPod touch. Not only that but now all of my music's gone from my library. How can I fix it?

Has anyone ever had this problem before? I would love some advice on how to restore my library with all my music. I have 841 songs on my iPod touch and yet my iTunes library on my account says I have none, ever since my sister made her account on my laptop and some of her songs have gotten on mine (the main) account. Not only that but my iTouch doesn't seem to want to accept any other songs outside of its list. Any advice?

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

V 6.0.1 is slow and i just got a Norton notification that it is using close to 100% of one of my CPUS - it's the only application open , only one tab!

I recently upgraded my Firefox and it has been slowing down my laptop ever since - delayed reaction when I type, for example. I just started my laptop this evening, and opened one Firefox window. I then got a message from Norton (File Insight), saying that 100% of one CPU is being used. Can you confirm whether this is the updated version of Firefox causing this? Should I downgrade?

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Sounds like you are using a POP based account and have the mail app set to remove a downlaoded email from the server.
I would recomend exploring the possibility of moving the account to an IMAP based one. You will find it much easier to mange between two devcices. Check with your current provider to see if that is an option.
To change the settings on the phone:
Open the Settings App > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > [your account] > Advanced > Delete from Server and set your preference there.

I changed my iTunes email but I changed it to the wrong one and I can't cancel the verification process which means I'm not allowed to purchase apps and or download recently purchased apps. Is there any way to cancel that email and send a different one?
