Two Apple IDs entered into one iPad- help needed!

My wife used to have an Apple ID (let's call it the 'first' ID) on her iPad and had bought many games. Recently she decided to change her Apple ID as the email address for the 'first' ID was now an account that she never used. So she changed her Apple ID in settings-App Store to her recently acquired icloud email address. (The 'second' account.) So now half the apps she has are from the first account and half the apps are from the second account.
this worked fine until the apps from the first account started to need updating. It didn't help that the first account's actual email address needed to be changed as it was forgotten so many times. Basically none of the games/apps from the first account will update and therefore cannot be played. I THINK I have managed to reset her first account email password.
so..... Is there a way to upgrade the older games with the first Apple ID while still keeping all the new games on the second account without deleting any of them or disabling the newer second account going forwards..?
your help in this matter is really appreciated!!
thanks.

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Two apple Ids syncing with one computer

I am trying to get all the music I have purchased within the last 2 years, all $400 worth of it between two apple accounts,  Unfortunatley stupid apple wont let me authorize two apple ids to my one computer....so how the **** can I get access to my content that I PAID FOR!?!?! You can't, accounts can't be merged nor content transferred from one account to another account - content will remain tied to the account that downloaded it.

  • I need to combine two apple id's into one

The ultimate issue is that I have 2 apple ID's and I am trying to switch my me.com address to my primary apple id. Is there any way to combine 2 apple accounts?

Is it the case that you are using the @me.com ID for iCloud and the other one for iTunes?
You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to anothe : but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your ex-MobileMe email address (which is also an Apple ID) for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

  • Is there away to merge two apple id accounts into one?

I have an apple ID under a Yahoo email and an apple ID under Gmail. I can't get the purchases on my Yahoo apple ID to be active on my current phone. (Currently these tracks are greyed out.) What is best to do?

If you sync your iPhone using iTunes, you could go to Store > Authorize This Computer from iTunes' menu on your computer and enter the yahoo Apple ID and password.  Then resync your iPhone.

  • I have two apple ids somehow, probably from two mobile and two computers - how do I merge them into one account so they all work with iCloud?

Somewhere, somehow, between two mobile and two macs, I ended up with two apple ids. I figured that this was the root of my problem to syncing. So, I am syncing Mail, Contacts, etc through the one account that I bought storage on this year in iCloud. I want to merge the two accounts, since many of my apps were purchased with my other id. Apparently, Keynote will not merge files since the app was bought with the second id, not the id I am using for icloud.
What to do??? I read, in the forums, that I am definitely not alone. I always had the id I used for the Apple Store to buy iTunes items, and then apps. The other id, that I am using for iCloud was based on my iDisk id, and apparently I set up as a separate account. The much failed iDisk account appears to be the one that I wish I never got involved with. Should I feel the same way about iCloud. If I cannot merge the two APPLE accounts from the same person (ME!!!), then many dropbox really is the answer for my file sharing needs.
    Please help me decide.

To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
To go back to your question; you cannot merge accounts, but perhaps using one account for iCloud and the other for iTunes will resolve the majority of the reasons you needed to merge to begin with.

  • I have two apple  Ids, how do I consoliidate into one Id?

I have two apple ids.  One for the apple store and one for the icloud and newstand.
How can i concsolidate the two ids into one ID.  One is associated with my Icloud
and has payed icould stroage.  The other id is my pre os5 apple store id.
    They have different passwords.
I use them on my IPAD.
    Howie

You can't. There is no way to merge Apple IDs. The purchases made with these separate IDs will forever be tied to those IDs. Sorry.

  • HT204053 Can you merge two Apple IDs into one?  It was a common issue caused by the iPhone 4 and has been corrected, but transferring purchases in iTunes is a pain with two IDs.

For a brief time when iPhone 4, iOS 4 came out, many of us ended up with two Apple IDs.  I want to know if anyone can please provide me with simple step-by-step instructions on merging two Apple IDs into one?  It would make transferring purchases on iTunes much easier and reliable.  I realize i desperately need an iOS update, but i had no laptop for over two years!  I'm posting a cry for help on that in another community.  Thank you all.

    No,
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Can you have two Apple IDs on one IPAD? One for school and one for home?

Can you have two Apple IDs on one IPAD? One for school and one for home?
If so do you know how to do it?

It depends on what you want to do.
You could, for example, have one AppleID for iCloud backup [and therefore message syncing, notes syncing, etc] and a second one for iTunes [music, iBooks, etc].
But if you are looking for a way to flip everything between different appleIDs, then no.

  • I have two Apple IDs. Is there any way to consolidate them into one?

I have two Apple iTunes accounts and didn't realize it for a while so some of the music I purchased is associated with one account and some music is associated with the other. I was wondering if there is any way to connect the two accounts and consolidate into one so that all my music is connected to one account and I don't have to manage the account separately?
Thanks and I appreciate any input!
