Two big problems that have effectivel​y made my Lenovo 3000 N100 an expensive paperweigh​t.

Okay, I have two problems with my laptop, which I know are unrelated:
1. My laptop's battery died about a month ago. It will not hold a charge, and unplugging the system will immediately shut off the system. This is identical to symptoms as per the battery issue attached to the top of the forum. However, this battery issue occured after even the extended warranty expired. 
2. My laptop will now spontaneously, inexplicably shut down between 3 - 5 minutes after turning it on. It acts as if the system was suddenly unplugged.
Between these two issues, this has effectively crippled my laptop. The first issue limits it to the power outlet. The second makes it completely unusable. The system runs normally until it spontaneously shuts down. Because of the time it takes until it shuts down, I doubt I can use Lenovo's warranty check tool online. Because of this, I can't even get the serial number (as the warranty sticker is worn down to the point of illegibility.
First question: What can be done to repair it?
Second question: Is it under warranty? It is a Lenovo 3000 N100.
Please let me know ASAP. This is a very problematic issue for me, and I'm really unhappy that a less-than-two year old system has died, and I hope that this can be resolved.

When I switch to full screen display, the artwork moves a couple of inches to the left and the display is therefore asymmetrical. Why and how do I correct it? It would drive you mad to.

    I was having the same problem, but tried the "Top Button + Home Button" reset and that did work for me. My unofficial guess is that perhaps RAM caches get filled through daily use of various apps leaving no memory for cover flow. Resetting the phone on the phone itself seems to reset that RAM. I can't say it's a cure-all, but it solved my issue. Hope this helps.

    You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
    They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

    from the error log the problem seems to be related to the use of an external JDK. Try reverting back to the original JRE. See if that helps, i.e., the server starts up fine. Use the administration GUI and select Global Settings > Configure JRE/JDK Paths. On the screen that appears, you can configure the path to the JRE. The default would be <server-root>/bin/https/jre.
    If that works fine, you might download a more recent version of the JDK. iWS 6 SP2 supports JDK 1.3.1.

    Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
    If you've gone through ALL the troubleshooting steps and you're still having the problem, then you most likely have a hardware issue and will need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • LENOVO 3000 N100 "lock-up", "stall" problem

    My laptop will start, but stall/freeze at any step after pushing the on buttom. It stalled at "window is starting up", "login in screen", afetr login, during loading the start-up programs or few minutes after running any propgram like Internet Explorer or spybot. When it stalled, the mouse is still able to move arond, but nothing happen if you click an icon. If clicking too many times, it beep two times and the mouse stalled. After a lot of try-and-errors, I think I find out the cause (with 80% confidence). Somehow, I.E. is causing lock-up. I have I.E. 7.0 and Window XP. What shoud I do to fix the problem? I tried to remove I.E. 7.0 from my laptop and re-installed back. It didn't work. Then, I tried to install I.E. 6.0. The set-up says it detected a new version of I.E. installed on my laptop and won't install I.E. 6.0 even I.E. 7.0 is already removed. Thanks for the help.

  • Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 DKU Battery problem

    Lenovo 3000 N100 0768 DKU Laptop has battery issues. The battery shows 75% & total battery power remaining @ 76%.
    The battery charge does not change when connected to the system with the AC adapter. The system will only function with the AC adapter attached. The system will not function on battery alone.
    Is there some type of battery re-calibration available?   My husband checked the battery with a meter that shows that it still does have power.  The battery is a Sony LION; the original one purchased with the computer.

  • Firefox, 2 problems that have not been corrected

    My Firefox version 13 has 2 problems that still occur from previous Firefox versions. The 2 problems are
    1) Firefox asks to save password even though I state never the message continues to display for the same web site, in this example it is Gmail log on. If I respond "never" to the remember password option why does it reoccur?
    2) The second problem is a "Warning unresponsive script" This message comes up ocassionally not only on my Mac but on Linux. Can I determine what or where this message originates? See attached.

    i use a 3000 N100 0768-B9G notebook with win Xp for a year and for some reason i had to format the Hard drive yesterday. i reinstalled my Win Xp and visited the site and downloades the audio drivers for the sound but nothing happend there was no device. then i downloaded the system update programm. it downloades all of the drivers including one for audio (different from the one from the lenovo site) and this time i had a audio device (not the old one though) my speakers were off and when i pluged external speakers to the speakers in the sound was horrible...what can i do?

    did you try using the live cd of ubuntu?was it working fine then?try using an another cd or if you have downloaded the iso image there may be a problem with the integrity of the image..check the cd for defects during the initial booting stage from the cd

  • Big problem that I have never heard of before...

    My iPod had corrupted music files on it, so I decided to restore the whole thing to see if that fixed the problem, after restoring I had issues syncing my iPod again. I have about 2200 songs in my library and it would only upload about 150 or so before it stuck on the 150th or so song. It would say it was still uploading but I waited about a half hour and still nothing. I tried restoring the iPod multiple times, and one time my computer froze while restoring so I unplugged the iPod and when I tried to turn it on, it made a weird beeping noise. The backlight turned on but there was no display. Resetting had no effect on this problem. I tried to plug it in the computer to restore again, but the computer just said waiting for ipod to be ready.
    I'm pretty sure it has to be serviced or replaced because of this problem, but I am not even sure if I am still within warranty or not. I do not feel like shelling out money that I do not have to repair this problem when it technically is not my fault.
    I just would like to know what I should do.

    Sorry no one jumped right in to solve your problem for you. I read your mind but I still couldn't tell when you got your iPod as it appeared to be empty.
    You can go here http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/ and on the right hand side in about the middle of the page you can enter the serial number of your iPod and see what support options you have. If it is still in warranty if you will look up a bit you can do an online service request. If you live near an Apple Store you can make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have them look at it.
    If it is out of warranty you can go to http://www.iresq.com to see about service, or use Google to find other places who work on iPods.
    It does sound like you have a hardware issue, but you could try Disk Utility on it and do a Repair.

  • 4 big problem that I didn't have with Audition 1

    Hi everybody,
    I have upgraded today from Audition 1 to Audition 3. I use Audition mainly for language studies (I'm a linguist). These are the problems:
    1. When I select a sentence of 4 seconds length and try to apply Time Stretch (Slow down)in order to study its pronunciation and intonation, I hear less than 2 seconds in the preview!!!! When I try to listen repeatedly (loop) in the Edit view normally, the sound deteriorates!!!
    2. My computer crashed 3 times since my installation of Audition this morning!!!!
    3. When I am in the preview dialogue box, if flickers.
    4. In Multitrack view, I can't arm any track for recording.
    I have Sony Vaio, Hyperthreading Pentium 4 CPU 3.40GHz, 2Giga of RAM, 160 Giga of disk space and my soundcard is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio.
    Help, please.

    Welcome to the new, improved Audition. Let's see, where to start?
    Audition 3.0 is an ASIO-based audio program. It uses ASIO drivers only so if your SoundMAX sound card does not have an ASIO driver then Audition 3.0 can't use it. You need to go into Edit>Audio Hardware Setup and check to see if both Edit View and Multitrack View have the correct sound card, driver and default inputs and outputs. You should also go online and check to see if you have the latest drivers for your sound card.
    Usually when you experience flickers or anything else display-related when using Audition 3.0 it has something to do with inadequate video card memory allocation. How old is your video card? There are usually programs working in the background on a computer that can interfere with Audition. Make sure you have as many of those programs closed as possible. Antivirus programs are particular guilty of running in the background and can be set to scan any file and program that opens on your computer. Audition could be in conflict with some other programs on your system.
    Audition 3.0 is a much more complex and robust program than 1.0 and it is a leap from one to the other. It will take up some more resources in order to work. I suggest you look at the Frequently Asked Questions in not only the 3.0 forum but the 2.0 and the 1.5 forums. They are quite comprehensive and could very well answer some of your questions and give you tips on optimizing your system.

    Apple has tended in my expereince to provide intuitive software that users can grow to use and admire. Why then does Lion go off at a tangent and become unintuitive and just plain hard work to work out? I run a business and this has caused a lot of time consuming effort particularly when working out how to save files (in certain programs). Like so many products (iPhone being one), there is no guide to the great things that can be done and I just don't have the time to go fishing around online looking for tips and tricks when I've got clients who need things quickly.
    Where is the best place to learn about Mac things?
