Two colors -two body tags

There are two colors one for the body on the html, body "tag"
(is that what do you call it?) for body and then another one on the
next "tag". Is this right? Should I get rid of the first one? TIA
html, body {
background-color : #fff;
color : #000;
margin : 0;
padding : 0;
body {
font : 100% tahoma, arial, sans-serif;
color : #4d4d4d;
text-align : center;
}

What does that have to do with anything? And written in 2005?
You must be
joking....

  • Dreamweaver CC Library Item with rollover link produces two body tags. Why?

    I have a library item which is used in two pages and works correctly if it does not contain a rollover arrow with a link taking you to the top of the library item. This produces the following near the top of each of the containing pages:
    </head>
    <body class="indexpage">
    <!-- #BeginLibraryItem "/Library/homemenu.lbi" -->
    <p><a id="top"></a></p>
    Note that the Library Item does not itself have a <body> tag in this original, working version.
    The problem arises when I insert an image rollover with a link up to #top (which is defined as above).
    First, the Library Item has the following near its top:
    <script ...>
    ... various functions to handle the rollover
    </script>
    <body onLoad="MM_preloadImages('../images/uparrowred2.gif')">
    <p><a id="top"></a></p>
    Secondly, the containing pages now have the following near the top:
    </head>
    <body class="indexpage" onLoad="MM_preloadImages('images/uparrowred2.gif)">
    <!--#BeginLibraryItem "Library/homemenu.lbi" -->
    <script ...>
    ... various functions to handle the rollover
    </script>
    <body onLoad="MM_preloadImages('../images/uparrowred2.gif')">
    <p><a id="top"></a></p>
    It can be seen (shown in red) that the Library Item has correctly transferred the onLoad instruction to the containing page's <body> tag and at the same time altered the address of the GIF image from '../images/xxx.gif' to 'images/xxx.gif'. [The root folder with the various html pages has a number of subfolders including 'images' and 'Library']. But now, unfortunately, the containing pages have two <body> tags with the second one pointing to the wrong location for the GIF image.
    Would someone please explain what is going on. I can think of three possibilities: (1) I may be doing something really stupid, (2) there may be a bug in Dreamweaver CC or (3) Library Items may not be allowed to contain anything "complicated" like a rollover. I did see a very old (2007) discussion in this forum suggesting that Library Items were rather limited in what they could contain, but over the intervening six years I would have expected things to have improved.

    Thank you, but in that case I'm not sure I understand the purpose of Library Items. Before I added the Library Item, there was nothing to preload. When I add a rollover to the Library Item, Dreamweaver creates the preloader instruction within the Library Item. Then when I include the Library Item in an html page, Dreamweaver controls where the preloader is put.
    Do I then need to manually edit what Dreamweaver has done? In this instance it would have been almost as quick to have ignored the use of a Library Item and copied and pasted the relevant code into the two pages and manually created the revised <body> tag with a preloader. In my relative inexperience with Dreamweaver, I just thought that using a Library Item in multiple pages would save me some effort when I wanted to change the content of the Library Item. As I said, the Library Item worked OK until I added a rollover within it.

  • How to use two group tags in the header?

    I am using BI Publishing,RTF Template,I found when I put two group tags before <?start:body?> ,the BI Publishing only keep the 2nd group tag right before <?start:body?> as header, it moved the 1st group tag to the body section.
    Is this a bug? Can anyone give me some ideas how to make BI Publish treat all the group tags before <?start:body?> as the header/sub header?
    thanks for your help

    Hi dirk,
    Thanks it worked well.
    I have one question for you in the tabular form.
    i have totally 10 columns in my tabular form, in that 9 column is of database column and only one column is non-database column, while updating the row in the tabular form it is throwing the below error like
    Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current row version identifier = "A0FD649E5A28DF9244990A3B9368298A" application row version identifier = "44CE02A233595BCA6F7D4A140BD4DF30" (Row 1)I thought the above error is due to the existence of non-database column in my tabular form. Is there any way to solve this issue. I need to have a non-database column in my tabular form but the presence of that column is not allowing to perform update in that tabular form.
    how to get rid of this issue dirk.
    Any ideas??
    Brgds,
    Mini

    What are the two XSLT tags, previously that could not be used in XI?

    Dear Niladri,
    sorry I missed your question a little bit... my answer was about the XSD barriers.
    About XSLT, it's the format-number() and unparsed-entity-uri() functions which are not supported.
    Best regards,

  • On viewing the page source of the page, it is displaying two title tags.

    Two title tags are displayed on view source of the page.
    One title tag is explicitly mentioned, but i do not want the second tag to be displayed.
    Please suggest some solution.

    Yes, by using JavaScript to create a new page by spawning a template page. The downside is that is will only work with Reader 11 (and Acrobat) and not previous versions of Reader. It also won't work if you need to Reader-enable the document so that pre-11 versions of Reader can save the filled-in form. If these limitations are not a problem and you need more help, post again.

  • Why doesn't a body tag background image show up in a browser?

    I've set a gif image to repeat as a background in my body tag and I can't get it to preview in a browser. I see the background fine when doing a live view in DW. I've tryed other images and none will preview in a browser. I've tryed to trouble shoot everything I can think of why this is not working and at this point I'm dumb-founded. Any help here would be most appreciated, I'm swamped with work and I really need to get this file off for client approval. Thanks in advance for any response - Vanessa

  • Unbalanced Body Tag on a line that doesn't exist

    I'm receiving an unbalanced body tag error on line 129 and
    line 194, however these two lines don't exist in the template
    ALSO, whenever I create new pages from the template it
    automatically tries to save the new pages as .dwt and places them
    in the templates folder instead of the chosen format of html.
    Please advise. (see code attached)

    > I'm receiving an unbalanced body tag error on line 129

    > however
    > these two lines don't exist in the template
    This definitely means your page is scrambled.

    This REALLY definitely means your page is scrambled. Are you
    using FILE |
    New From Template when you create these new pages?
    Looking at the code below, I can see several anomalies.
    1. There is this unnecessary line - <!-- TemplateInfo
    codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->. Why is it there?
    2. There is NO editable region around the <title> tag.
    3. There is NO editable region in the head of the page in
    addition to #2,
    above.
    These last two are the sign of an improperly made template.
    Do this -
    Create a new page (Basic HTML).
    Use FILE | Save as Template....
    Look at the code in the head region of the page, particularly
    the editable
    region around the <title> tag, and the other editable
    region in the head
    called "head".
    Make your template file look like that.
    Always use FILE | Save as Template when you create your
    templates and you
    won't have this problem again.

  • Missing closing body tag

    Hello,
    I'm seeing an issue that has been mentioned a couple of times in this forum, but hasn't been resolved -- at least no final resolution is posted.
    The behavior is that the closing body tag is missing from rendered pages which use the ui:body tag. This does not appear to be related to tiles of jsp fragments specifically.
    I am posting an identical question to the JSF forums since this is a component from the webui jar.
    Thanks so much for listening and please post if you know anything about this issue and its resolution.

    I am getting this too. My pages are all designed as flow-layout with embedded group panels. All my group panels have "block" set (making them divs).
    I have made the following observations.
    If a page is navigated to by typing the url into the browser address bar, or by clicking on a hyperlink (with no action defined) then the page is rendered without a closing body tag </body>
    If a page is navigated to by clicking on a link which has an action defined, then the resultant page is rendered with a closing body tag.
    In addition I have noticed that if you have group panels embedded in each other, some with block set (div), and others with block not set (span) then the closing tags sometimes do not match e.g. you may get two opening tags like <div><span> but the closing tags will be </div></div> which can cause no end of formatting issue. As a workaround I make all my group panels blocks so that this does not happen.

  • Unbalanced Body Tag Error...I'm a Newbie...please help!

    Hey guys,
    I'm sure this question has been answered a thousand and one times but I am trying to make a template of a website but I am getting the following error message: "There is an Error at line 18 of ****: Unbalanced Body Tag"  I have tried to past all of the html below.  I don't know much of anything about html but I'm trying to learn.  Any help at all would be amazing.  Thanks in advance everyone!

    Disclaimer: I don't use Templates - you probably need to make these changes to your template file. Maybe some template experts will correct me, but here's my $.02.
    Then again
    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->
    <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
    both look like they're out of place to me.
    Anyway:
    If that really is all of the code from your page, then you're missing at least the following:
    DOCTYPE
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Your Title Goes Here</title>
    </head>
    </body>
    </html>
    Add the DOCTYPE by selecting File->Convert->HTML 4.01 Strict (Dreamweaver->Convert->... if on a Mac) from the menus.
    In Code View, just underneath the newly added DOCTYPE code, add:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Whatever you want</title>
    Now, just above your <body> tag, add:
    </head>
    And at the very bottom of the page, add:
    </body>
    </html>
    Sidenote: Since you're already defining the body's background color with CSS, you can change this:
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
    to this:
    <body>

  • Several different body tags

    Dear Great Ones,
    Hi, and hope all is well...
    In the site, there are different sections of the site that have different colored backgrounds. That is some sections have blue, some yellow, some pink, for example.
    These are styled with the body tags, meaning the different sections have body tags assigned different colors.
    When using CSS does one have to have a different style sheet for each different color body tag background, or is there someway to assign, say 3 sections that each use a different color body tag a name so all the body tag colors can be on the same style sheet?
    For example: say section 1 is blue, section 2 is pink, sectioin 3 is yellow. Can there be 1 style sheet that lists all 3 body tags with their different colors?
    What do you think?
    Thanks ever so much,
    Sincerely,
    Hope

    hope1 wrote:
    Dear Snakeyez02,
    Thank you very much for your kind reply and caution..
    Ok, that is understandable.
    What about styling, say, all the html docs in 1 folder have blue assigned to the body tag, and all the html docs in another folder have pink assigned to the body tags. Is there some way to list those all on one CSS style sheet? Or does one have have 2 different style sheets?
    Thanks again so very much,
    Sincerely,
    Hope
    In this example you would need 2 style sheets if you are redefining the body tag.  Typically if your pages will be styled differently like with drastically different background colors you would probably want to load different colors for other elements on that page so that you are using complimentary colors and do not bother your visitors.
    There is nothing wrong with having different style sheets for this type of use.

  • Using body tags AND section tags in same RTF?

    I am trying to create a custom printed PO form in RTF. The requirement is to have certain info be on the header of each page. Due to the complexity of the header, I opted to not use the native Word support for headers/footers and instead used the <?start:body?> tag. The for-each grouping occurs before the "header" and well before the body tag. That worked great. However, when I try to use the form to print more than one PO at a time, it instead prints the header for however many POs there are in the file before printing the lines. Obviously not what I want. I tried adding the "@section" tag to the <?for-each?> tag, but for some reason that causes nothing whatsoever to print - I get blank pages.
    SO, can the body tags be used within the grouping section tags? Any thoughts on why this isn't working for me? Any help on how to accomplish this would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Is this on Teaming 2.1? Have you also tried the same on Kablink site (Kablink Teaming) which is now running the Durango beta?

  • Do you know why the span style="color: Transparent;" build tag is set in topics as if by magic?

    Hello,
    We are using Robohelp 9 - 9.0.1.232
    It happens that some topics contain the <span style="color: Transparent;"> build tag.
    It seems that RH9 sets this tag by its own. We do not manage such tags.
    We come upon this while viewing one of our compiled CHM files. There was a big empty space inside a paragraph.
    We opened and found that the text was present. Using the HTML view, we discovered that the empty space in the CHM file corresponded to a paragraph included in the <span style="color: Transparent;"> build tag.
    For example, this morning, looking at a topic of another CHM file, we found When the tool runs,. The rest of the sentence was included in a <span style="color: Transparent;"> build tag.
    This is extremely annoying, as we do not know that this tag is set, until we discover it. We ar elikely to deliver doc with missing information without knowing it, until a customer complains.
    Has anyone encountered this or has an idea about this? How can we prevent RH9 from setting this tag?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi there
    First, let's get a bit clearer on our terminology, shall we?
    What you are seeing is not a "Build Tag". Sure, the Span indicates a tag and it's there when you build, but a "Build Tag" is a special tag inside RoboHelp that you apply to specific content that you wish to omit from the build using a counterpart known as a "Build Expression".
    A Build Tag in RoboHelp looks like this:
    <?rh-cbt_start condition="InProgress" ?>New model coming<?rh-cbt_end ?>
    What you are reporting is an inline styling element.
    Is this a project that began life in RoboHelp 9? Or was it created in an earlier version and was upgraded along the way? Does the same thing occur with a totally new topic you create?
    Cheers... Rick
