  • How do I use two devices on one computer?

My son has a Nano, I have an iPod. Both Xmas gifts. We have different music likes (duh) so we don't want one big library feeding both devices. How do we get his music on his Nano and my music on my iPod?

  • Can i Have two phones on one computer

    Hey everyone,
Can I have two iphones on one computer. I've heard i cant. Anyone know anything about this.
    Thanks yall

Yes. iTunes treats each device as a separate unit, and you can have different preferences for each.

  • If two people use one computer, but we have separte itunes accounts, Apple ID, and icloud will my apps I get be stored in their account too since we are using the same computer?

If two people share the same computer, but have separate itunes account, Apple ID, and icloud and one of them downloads an app will it also go into the other persons account since y'all use the same computer

If you  have separate user accounts on the computer, then your downloaded apps are stored in your iTunes Library. See the following for dealing with having multiple users on the same computer: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer.
Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

  • We synched two phones to one computer and updated both.

She went through and deleted my contacts on her phone personally. They then were deleted off my phone. How can I get them back? I had tons of information that is now "gone"

You may be able to restore a previous backup: iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software.
Bear in mind that when using two phones on one computer that you cannot have separate information such as contacts or calendars. You can sync a different set of applications and music, but they come from the same main library.
The only way you can each have completely different data for two phones is to have two Apple IDs and separate user accounts on the computer.
iDevices are not multi-user devices like the ocmputer.

  • How do i get two ipods on one computer

Ok How can I share songs with two ipods on one computer!!! Help PLEASE !!!!!!!!!1

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Windows accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look anyway and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

  • Two devices under one apple ID, how do I keep my privacy?

I have two devices under one apple ID, my sister's iPhone 4s and my own iPod touch 5. iMessages and FaceTime requests etc are being sent to both devices instead of the specific one it's meant to be sent to. For example, I am recieving the iPhone's iMessages on my iPod as well, when they are meant to be only sent to the iPhone. Also, will safari history and bookmarks/app downloads and passwords etc be shown on both devices as well?

    Remember this construct:
One Apple ID per individual; one device per Apple ID. If you have two devices you should have an Apple ID for each unless you want both devices to draw from the same iTunes Library. This is your situation now.
If you open iTunes and select one device to configure, then go through the configuration options for Apps, Music, etc. and select what you want synched to that device. Repeat the process for your other device. This is the best you can do to keep each device's configuration different.

  • Can you have two iPods for one computer?

I know nothing about iPods so please excuse me for this question that probably has an obvious answer. My sister has an iPod nano that she has been using with our computer for a long time. I just bought an iPod and was trying to set it up. So can I use her i tunes to put music on my ipod or how does it work? I am aware you are not supposed to steal music though. So what am I supposed to do?

Yes, you can use 2 iPod with 1 computer quite easily.

  • Two devices on one account! Help!!!

I have two devices on one (my) itunes account. I have my itouch and my sister's ipad. What I didn't realize at the time was that everytime I synced my itouch to my itunes, everything she bought would be transfered onto mine (which I didn't want) Now I want to get a seperate itunes account for my sister, but she wants everything to still be on her ipad (the stuff she bought on my itunes) I have no clue how to go about doing this. If it helps, I got a new itouch that i am waiting to sync on my itunes for the first time. Should I just get a new account for myself since I have a new itouch? Please help! Any information would be great

It will difficult to separate into two iTunes accounts. One of you will likely loose apps. What you could do to continue to use one account is launch iTunes and connect your device(s) to your Mac. Select your device from the left sidebar and navigate to the apps tab at the top of the window that opens. At the bottom of the list of apps you will see a checkbox labeled 'Automatically Sync New Apps' uncheck the checkbox. Sync or Apply the changes and then repeat this with your sister's device(s). iTunes will now only sync apps you download on your devices and same for hers unless you manually check one or more of the apps that the other party downloads using this same iTunes window. Just an idea to throw out there. I can walk you through the music and other sections if those are involved just let me know.

  • HT1347 How do I run two libraries from one computer?

How do I run two libraries from one computer? One library is on the computer's hard drive, the second library is on an external hard drive. The computer that had the external hard drive crashed and I need to fix the iTunes library on it. How can I do this without corrupting the library on my internal hard drive?

Launch iTunes with the Shift key held down and either create a new library or choose the one on the external drive. Any rented movies downloaded from another computer won't play.

  • Connecting more than one device to one computer

Hi, I have an iphone 3gs and my son has an ipod touch. Here's the problem when updating my apps from my phone Im being asked for my sons passorword. So what happened to my account?
    1. How do I get my account back!
    2. How do I set itunes to use 2 devices to one computer?
    Thank you

There is no device limit for the number of iPods, iPhones, and iPads that can be synced with iTunes on the same computer. Each device can have its own sync preferences with iTunes on the same computer.
There will be a problem or something to take into account when there is more than one iTunes account used with iTunes and the same iTunes library on the same computer to download iTunes content from the iTunes store including 3rd party apps.
iTunes includes an option to sign out from one iTunes account and sign into another account when there is more than one iTunes account used with iTunes on the same computer. If you and your son have separate iTunes accounts, when syncing your iPhone with iTunes, you need to be signed into iTunes with your iTunes account. Before your son syncs his iPod Touch with iTunes, he needs to sign into iTunes with his iTunes account.
At the iTunes menu bar go to Store. If iTunes is signed in with your son's iTunes account, you need to sign out and sign in with your iTunes account.

  • Is it posible to have two libraries on one computer?

My brother and I use the same computer for our iPod's. He is 12 and probably shouldn't have some of the same songs that I have. Is it posible to have two libraries on one computer?

we each have our own user acounts in XP, but iTunes is present in all user accounts on the PC. So what I import or purchase to iTunes using my XP user is only seen by me or is it linked to all users?
I appreciate your help with this!!!

  • Syncing two iphones with one computer

A co-worker and I share a secretary. We'd like to be able to sync our individual calendars (in Outlook '03) on our secretary's PC.
    Is this possible?

    UPDATE:
Well I thought I figured it out when I realized iTunes gives you the option of syncing only selected calendars. My plan was to check only my calendar to sync with my phone and Gary's calendar to syn with his phone.
Unfortunately, the option to sync only selected calendars is grayed out in iTunes. I can only check the "sync all calendars" box.
Surely others have figured out how to sync two phones with one computer and only have the data you specify synced to the specific phone.
Do I have to create another Windows user account where only Gary's calendar is maintained and then switch back and forth between user accounts whenever syncing?
Any help would be much appreciated.
