Two docks?

I use two monitors on one computer. One is the iMac, the other is an interactive drawing tablet/display, like a Wacom Cintiq. I have them set up as double-wide extended desktop, which works fine, but to address the iMac requires a mouse, the other uses either the mouse or a stylus, and the stylus won't work on the iMac screen. It would be nice to have a second version of the Dock for the second monitor, so I don't have to switch tools to switch applications. Is that possible?

    Have I missed this on the store.
    I want to order some accessories for my 60Gb Video iPod.
    I know you get a dock convertor with the iPod itself, but I want to buy two docks (one for the lounge) and need an extra 60Gb dock convertor.
    I can only find 30Gb ones on the Apple (UK) store.
    Anyone help?

  • Two docking containers interact with each other

    Hello everyone!
    I have almost the same problem like here: [ALV tree & Docking container ???;
    I need to have ALV tree on the left, and on the right need to display ALV grid filtred with the tree nodes.
    but i need more specific help...
    I really need an working example program with two docking containers, where clicking on some object inside one, changeing something in another one.
    in se83 and dwdm there's no such thing.
    RSDEMO_DOCKING_CONTROL only shows two docing containers, no interaction
    SAPSIMPLE_TREE_CONTROL_DEMO does not use docking containers.
    Do you know any simple example where two docking cointaners doing somethig like that?

  • Two Dock Questions...

    Two quick questions. First, I'm wondering if there is anyway to have certain dock preferences set for different displays. For instance...when I have my Macbook hooked up to my external display, I like the dock to always display on the left of the screen. When I am using my Macbook's screen, I like it to disappear and be at the bottom of the screen. Since my computer can detect when it is connected to the external display, it should be able to make those distinctions. Anyone know how that could work?
    Second, I'm wondering how I can get the applications stack back into the dock. I accidentally removed it awhile ago and can't figure out how to get it back.
    Thanks.

    This doesn't work. I'm trying to grab the Applications folder from the finder, and when I move it to the dock, the cloud icon stays there. The dock never responds like it is going to accept a new stack. I can get any other folder to appear as a stack, but not the Applications folder. I tried with the applications link that is in the sidebar of the Finder and that is what happened. I also grabbed the Applications folder from the Home folder, and it will allow me to place it in the stack portion of the dock. However, it never operates as a stack. It just opens that folder in the finder. I right clicked on the folder in the dock and "display as stack" is checked, but it still opens as a folder.

  • Cairo-Dock bug: Two docks on restart

    Before anyone redirects me to the wiki, I have already tried this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ca … re_running
    I am running Arch with awesome WM and whenever I restart my WM (I'm not talking about rebooting the system) i get another dock and if i restart again i get another one on top of that. It's weird.... logging out and logging back in seems to solve the problem. Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks in advance!

    splippity wrote:yeah I experienced the same problem a solution I found was to grab the icon and drag it out of the dock. then let go and it will "poof" and be permanently removed.
    That's done the trick. Thanks a billion for the trick.
    Inxsible wrote:Or are you just trying to make it a bit fancier by using docks and such?
    That's exactly it. Trying to put something together that's stylish and operable by someone who's never even heard about Linux. My Gnome, KDE, and LXDE desktops have proven successful already (have a number of customers who prefer them over the Windows machines).
    The normal right-click Openbox menu is not obvious to someone who's never used *box before and .desktop menus are generally too ugly or too finicky to customise.
    Now with cairo-dock, pypanel, and a nice background on a stylish LCD screen ... pretty cool.
    EDIT: embarrassing typo

  • Kid Proofing OS X (Part Two, Dock tweaking)

    I mentioned yesterday that the little kids have their own Macs. I am trying to move them to a newer shared machine.
    My wife and I each have our own (unprotected) login on the adult machine. Naturally the kids are frequently interested in messing with our computer rather than their own (all the computers are in the family room) and this has worked out just fine except for a recurrent problem each of us is experiencing with the Dock.
    Icons keep disappearing off my wife’s Dock. We suspect our three year old as the culprit for this, but I am not entirely certain of this.
    My account has the exact opposite difficulty, a couple of folders I have long ago deleted keep showing up as a grey question mark. (I drag it off the Dock, but then reboot and the ? is back. I have added and rearranged other items with no ill effect.)
    I suspect that the solutions to both issues are closely related.
    What is the recommended procedure for locking down the Dock once it is configured nicely? Can this process be reversed to correct ghost aliases?
    Thanks!

    I had to think about why I trying to get the kids upgraded to OS X. Mac OS 9 works great. I have not had to launch Classic on the eMac for a year, so I wanted to modernize the other machines in the house mostly to be compulsive.
    I may to let my children surf, and Kid Pix 3X is compelling, but that is about it. Well, that and the assistive technology that wasn’t working.
    Mostly because I am cheap, I had acquired (eBay, naturally) an USB TouchWindow touch screen, PS/2 KidTrac trackball, and PS/2 Big Keys Plus. None of that hardware worked right under Mac OS 9, so I though OS X would solve that. I have a generic keyboard/mouse PS/2 USB adapter.
    The TouchWindow looses its calibration every time the Mac goes to sleep. The KidTrac always right-clicks instead of left click. The Mac doesn’t know what to do with the Big Keys keyboard and I have not had success remapping the Ctrl key to Command. I have a regular Apple keyboard attached, so I would prefer to remap one keyboard, not both.
    I have also tried a Pi Engineering PS/2 to USB adaptor but get the same results. Does anyone have successful experience with any of these three products with OS X?
    Thanks!

  • IPod touch 1g and universal dock: on remote the volume up sets volume down

    I have a iPod touch first generation. Today I bought the Apple universal dock which includes a aluminum remote.
    The problem is that when I press 'volume up' on the remote, the volume on the iPod goes down. When I press 'volume down' on the remote, the volume on the iPod goes down as expected.
    The other controls on the remote are working (prev, next, play/pause). Only the volume control is not working properly.
    What I already tried:
    Unpairing and pairing the remote with the universal dock.
    Reboot the iPod
    Reset the iPod
    Setup the iPod as a 'new' iPod with iTunes. Sync only the music, no apps.

    Hi,
    I bought one dock from apple site some days ago and I think was the dock that had a problem, replaced with another universal dock but the problem persists.
    Do you think that two of two dock could be damaged?
    thank you

  • Problem with laptop and docking station

    Hello.
    We have two laptops with two docking station. Both laptops w/ docking have the same problem:
    When the computer is turned off, and its still connected to the docking station, the fan in the computer start to run really fast. The fan goes on for a good while. This is making alot of noise, which can be annoying for the person using the office. When the computer is on, the fan runs at normal speed. If you disconnect the computer from the docking station, the fan stops immediately. Any ideas?

    It is possible the notebook is not completing the shutdown in full when docked.
    Make sure the BIOS is the most recent version.
    Here is the most recent one to try should you need it.
    Other than that, I am afraid I do not have much else for this. I did some research, but I didn't really find anything that was exactly like this. I found scenarios where the fan would run at full speed when docked, but this happened whether the notebook was booted or not. You can try your luck in the business support forums to see if they may have something that is a little more helpful.

  • Problem with same layout (variant) for two ALV Grid and ALV Tree

    Hello!
    I have two docking containers on the screen. On the left i have cl_gui_alv_tree, on the right cl_salv_table.
    When a user set a default layout for ALV Grid (or ALV Tree), raport starts and sets this layout in both objects (tree and grid).
    How to avoid this?

    Hi,
    Take Two radio buttons.
    First radion button display the two containers in grid format,
    second radio button display the two containers in tree format base on user selection.
    CREATE OBJECT G_DOCING_CONTAINER
        EXPORTING PARENT = G_CUSTOM_CONTAINER."G_CONTAINER.
    DISPLAY THE DATA IN GRID FORMATA
    CREATE OBJECT r_grid
        EXPORTING
          i_parent          = G_DOCING_CONTAINER
    CALL METHOD g_docing_container->set_width
          EXPORTING
            width      = 1300.
    DISPLAY THE GRID DATA IN SECOND CONTAINER
    CREATE OBJECT r_grid1
        EXPORTING
          i_parent          = G_DOCING_CONTAINER
    CALL METHOD g_docing_container->set_width
          EXPORTING
            width      = 1300.
    OTHERWISE WE CAN DISPLAY THE TWO CONTAINERS DATA IN A GRID FORMAT
    CREATE OBJECT g_tree
        EXPORTING
          parent                = g_docing_container"g_custom_container
    IF R1 = 'X'.  "FOR GRID DISPLAY
    CALL METHOD r_grid1->set_table_for_first_display
    CALL METHOD r_grid2->set_table_for_first_display
    ELSE.
    ************TREE DISPLAY

  • Running Applications Light Not Showing In Dock

    Hi all, on my new iMac, I changed the dock to the old style, tiger, with a terminal script and then changed it back and now the little lights that show when an application is running do not appear? I've tried trashing the two dock files in Library>Preferences and it does not fix it. Any help would be much appreciated as I have no idea what apps are running unless i open the activity monitor.
    Thanks

    fixed it, the files in System>Library>Core Services>Dock had been deleted. The little png icons that is. Yay!

  • Dock connector in different location?!

    Is the dock connector to the 2nd generation iPod in a different location? I just bought a brand new Ipod 8gb nano and two docking stations that are "ipod nano compatible" for a co-worker. To my dismay, I can't dock the ipod. Do I have a defective unit or has Apple actually changed the location of the connector, thereby rendering all first generation accessories useless?
    I am just stunned at the moment. I wish apple would advertise this little fact...

    The 8Gb nano has different overall dimensions, as you found out, so many of the accessories that were designed for the nano won't be compatible (e.g. the nano dock, headphones such as the Lanyard headphones, etc. - anything that is based on the original spacing between the speaker jack and the connector and case.
    As for the dock, there is a hack, although not an easy one. It turns out that the dock comes apart very easily, and if you machine the slot on the plastic cover to be about 1/8 inch wider (on one side only) and put it back together, it works fine. I used a dremel tool and mine turned out pretty good.

  • Why won't my iPod charge or play music on my ipod dock?

    My sister pushed on the iPod plugging it in really hard, and it did play the music and charge it. When she let go it stopped working. I've tried it on two docks and it doesn't work with them anymore. Both docks are compatible. the first dock worked for a while with my iPod and then one day it just stopped working. I have had to use a cord to play thru the docks.

    You an try the following. There are not settings on the iPod for dock. Are you sure the manufacturer says it works for your model iPod an iOS. Also have you went to the dock manufacturer's support site.
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • Docks update problem

    Hi,
    There is a strange problem with some dock programs in my system. Such programs as dockbarx and docky do not update after their start to reflect actual state of windows. They only show those windows which were opened at their startup, and if I close one of these windows or open some new windows, the dock doesn't reflect this - icons are not removed nor created, though they should. This renders these two docks completely unusable.
    Strange, but another docks (AWN, cairo-dock) work well. Even more strange, dockbarx integrated into AWN also works well. But I don't like cairo-dock, and awn seems too bloated to me.
    I'm using Awesome WM as my window manager.
    What could it be?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, it seems like iOS 5 and/or 5.0.1 makes the docks form some manufacturer's incompatible. Have you checked the dock's support site? Only solution is to waid for a firmware update from either Apple or the dock manufacturer.

  • Ultra Dock -- both DisplayPort monitors are always mirrored

    I just got a new W550s with an Ultra Dock and it mostly works well with my setup -- Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux Mint 17.2).  The problem I have is that both DP1 and DP2 are mirrored, and the Display utility only detects one screen.  If I plug one of the monitors into the Mini-DP port on the laptop, it shows up as a third monitor and seems to work fine. Is there any way to use the two dock DisplayPort connectors as separate screens in Linux?  Does this work properly in Windows at least?  If so, at least there is some hope that we can make it work in Linux.

    I'm struggling with a very similar problem. (Thinkpad W540, K2100, Ultradock 170W)
    I am using 2 external monitors right now in bios display standard mode - it's the only way they work at all for me right now. I have tried uninstalling graphics drivers, enabling advanced mode, and restarting, but none of the external displays are detected. I've also tried updating the dock's firmware, but it doesn't seem to be updating (this may have already been updated).
    Current working setup:
    - 2 x 22" external LCDs connected to Ultradock via DP -> DVI cables
    - Laptop integrated LCD
    Related but not quite as equally frustrating, the integrated LCD does not resume when waking the computer from a sleep state. Only a reboot brings the display back.
    I'd like to connect another 24" display over HDMI, but don't have any confidence of it working since advanced mode is utterly worthless for me at the moment. I'm quite dissatisfied especially since I purchased an extended warranty and last time I called for support Lenovo tried to sell me an additional support plan claiming that software was not covered under my current warranty.
