Two effects - Reverse and split picture?
I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to do both or either of these effects. For all I know they may be simple to do, however I cannot figure it out.
1. Reverse - How do you take a video and reverse it. Ex: A car driving forward and then switch to it going backwards the way it came.
2. Split picture/video - How do you take a video and split it vertically into say 4 or 5 different segments? For this, I need to be able to show only 1 segment at a time and also all of them at once, so a little black line between each segment would be great if anyone could help with these.

1. Highlight the clip, right-click on it and select SPEED. When the Speed window opens, check the reverse box.
2. The easiest way is to create a matte in Photoshop in the configuration you need then layer the matte over the clip.

Hi, when I upload music into itunes from a cd it sometimes appears in itunes as two different albums and split up the music in 2 or even three albums....how can i merge these albums...this is particularly true when one album may have different composers?
Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.
For compilations that aren't, select all tracks, Get Info, and on the option tab set Part of a Compilation to No. If it already says No tick the box alongside, then click OK.

I canot delete pics from my photos on ipad. During synching process to my mac the pictures started to suddenly be downloaded back to the ipad. I now have 900 pics in photos and the same in photo stream on the ipad. There is no trash can, only an "edit" choice.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -
how can I make two copies of the same picture one with my watermark and one without for printing for clients?
Export the photo twice, once with a watermark and once without a watermark.

iphoto causes half my screen to be reversed (screen split with the right side half now on the left side and the left hand side on the right.) and screen gets multiple blurry copies. Also the computer freezes. Any suggestions about a fix? Can I delete iphoto and reinstall? If so, will I lose my photos?

Aperture stopped showing pictures in viewer and split view
Suddenly Aperture 3 has stopped showing any pictures in viewer and split view (except for the bottom fim strip) but I can see them all in browser view. I have tried using Aperture Repair and have reset Aperture (using Clean My Mac to delete the user setup files). I also tried creating a new library with just a few files to see if the size of the library was an issue. I also tried opening the libraries in iPhoto and have the same result. I can browse the minatures but not open the larger pictures.
The only thing I have yet to try is to delete and reinstall Aperture. But since iPhoto has the same problem, I don't see how that would be the issue.
Aperture is version 3.5.1, OS is OSX 10.9.2.I would have to redo the cleanmymac step but essentially it is like creating a new install before using the app.
If you do not know, what exactly will be uninstalled, by a general cleaning application, don't use it. That is risky.
Using a different user account makes no difference.
That means, you are having a system wide problem. Fixing your Aperture library or settings in your account will probably not help.
First thing to try, reinstall Aperture.
And if that does not bring your split view back, reinstall Mavericks. You may have missing caches and necessary configuration files, since iPhoto is having the same problem.
Did you run CleanMyMac to uninstall other applications, before the problem first occured? Usually it is much safer, to use only the uninstaller, that come with an application. Otherwise, you are risking to uninstall items needed by other applications or the system.

Hi, iPak II user. Two keyboard keys won't work, and the picture goes haywire sometimes, flashing itself, bak to old stuff, typing in the safari line, all this going on vey fast. Any fixes out there?
Sounds like it could be a hardware problem.
Try a restart or reset to see if that helps. If not, contact Apple Support.
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost. -
Using CS6 and pasting pictures-nametags are now reversed -am i missing a setting?
I am working with CS6 and pasting pictures into a card that was designed. when I drag and drop, the order becomes reversed. this wouldn't be bad but the nametags are all backwards. Is there a setting that I can change? Thanks...

It sounds like your frames have a flip attibute being applied by default. This could be the result of having clicked the flip button with nothing selected.
And you should only drag and drop images from Bridge, Finder, or Explorer. From anywhere else it is the equivalent of pasting and you will not get good results. -
How do I eliminate two locations on My Documents and MY Picture folders?
For a long time, I have had two double sets of My Documents and My Pictures with each having the other 's files on it/ them. Please advise.

Since it appears that both the Documents and Pictures folders have mirrored themselves, I recommend performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 7), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7). This should return your system back to factory defaults.

Split pictures into a new event?
I took two sets of pictures, one last night and one today. When I imported the pics into iPhoto, I was hoping it would split them into two different events, since they were taken on different days, but it imported them all into a single event. How can I select a range of pictures in this event and split them into a new event?
While viewing the photos in the Photo mode of iPhoto with the View ➙ Sort set to By Date Command-click on the photos you want to put in their own Event and use the Event ➙ Create Event menu option.

Effects timing and clip selection
i'm a new imovie user (i just got my laptop for christmas) and i've volunteered to do the video editing for a school movie project. so far it's gone pretty well, but i have two issues with features that apparently exist but aren't working for me. i have read the "getting started" manual already, so if you're going to refer me back to that please be specific.
the first thing i would like to be able to do is to select only part of a video clip to which to apply an effect, change the volume, etc. there are repeated references to doing so in the help manual, but so far i haven't figured out how to do it.
second, i don't understand the "effect in" and "effect out" settings for effects. what exactly do these mean? why can you only select up to ten seconds for each, and why does "in" begin at 0 and "out" begin at 10? do these times refer to distance from the beginning and end of the clip? specifically what i am trying to do is have the fog effect play for a few seconds at the beginning of my clip and then go away. if you can tell me how to do this in baby steps i'd appreciate it.

Figured I might as well jump in...
how and why would one select a portion of a clip? this is as a said simply a matter of curiosity.
I have used "portions" of clips when I need to add a title or effect to only a small part of that clip-somewhere other than the beginning, for example.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, all you need to do is split the clip at that point.To do that, place the Playhead at the point where you want to split the clip, go to Edit ->Split clip.
Now you have two clips where there once was one. (You'll see a little line at the split point). Then you can drag a title or transition to that split line or you can highlight the split portion of the clip and add an effect.
Hope that didn't make you more confused.
