Two error messages

OK, as long as my prayer wheel is spinning, I might as well ask.
I'm getting to persistent error messages on startup.
1) Warning: Cannot find unit-address in xsvc.conf
2) syslogd: line 24: Warning loghost could not be resolved.
each seems easy.
All that is in in xsvc.conf is
name="xsvc" parent="pci";
which might as well be written in Greek, for all that tells me--but then I'm a newb, probably plain as day to a more sophisticated user. Is it just asking for information about my wireless card because it came up before I got the wireless network functioning.
There are only two choices in syslogd YES or NO. Yes is the default. I've tried both, both result in an error message. I'm clueless.
At any rate, I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me. I've come so far on this OS, getting the resolution, sound, wireless, etc., working that these errors are just driving me crazy.

I got a reply from Xi Graphics about the xsvc.conf file. If you have Xi drivers and are bothered by the error message, you might be interested.

Yes... It is a harmless warning that was fixed in newer xsvc
versions (by simply not installing an xsvc.conf file).
If you want to fix it yourself, you can simply delete the
/kernel/drv/xsvc.conf file. We only needed to install this file on
Sparc based systems, not Intel/Opteron based systems.
Do not copy the xsvc.conf.preXiG to xsvc.conf. Sun's xsvc is very
old (and incompatible) with modern xsvc revisions.

Hello PW, I am having this problem and all suggestions haven't worked yet. Where is the Preferences|Documents you are referring to? I am on a PC and using Windows.
EDIT: I found it and did, but still not working.

I did the recommended re-install to resolve the missing MSVCR80.dll file. This worked, but I am now stymied by two error messages: "Apple Mobile Device failed to start" and "Apple application support not found". How to overcome?

That worked, however I now get two error messages when I install I Tunes:
o Apple Mobile Device failed to start.
o Apple Application Support not found.
This were of course deleted in the recommended re-install procedure to resolve the dll file, but repeated uninstalls and installs simply bring up these two error messages with a recommendation to install I Tune again. Installing the new I Tunes version seems to be problematic per the discussion groups and has no simple solution. SHould not the Genius bar be able to resolve this at an Apple Store? Want to buy a new I Phone 5S, but this problem effectively stymies this.

TS1717 Getting two error messages when trying to access I Tunes on my Windows 7 Computer: Windows Error 126 and MSVCR80.dll not found

Having difficulty accessing I Tunes on my Windows 7 Vista.
Error messages are two fold:
1. MSVCR80.dll not found. Reinstall may help correct prob.
2. Windows Error 126.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

I have a problem with multiple reports of error messages in OptionPanes using JClient (JDev 9.0.3 with and without Patch):
You can reproduce this easily with wizard generated sources:
1. Create a bc4j project for OnlineOrders (EOs, VOs, AM,...)
2. Create a jclient form for the customerVo of the OnlineOrders project with TABLE! as view
3. Start the form.
4. Update the name of a customer with a lot of chararacters, so that you expect an error because the field can only take 20 (?) characters.
5a. if you press return or leave the cell you get ONE OptionPane with the error. ok.
5b. if you click the commit button, you get TWO message boxes !!!!
This seems to be a jclient bug with focus handling of the editor component.... Any idea how to get around this?

Logged bug 2784888 to track this.
A workaround is to override navbar's commit action and perform end-edit on the table-cell in the application code and trap any errors and only if the end-edit is successful, let the default action go thru. Here's my code to override doAction in the navbar to solve this issue:

Encore Won't Open, Two Error Messages then "An input contract..."

I've had nothing but issues with Encore, here's the newest one. It won't open, gives me the two messages listed below, I press continue on each, then displays "An input contract violation has occurred".
The two errors are in the JPEGs attached.

Following the recent iTunes upgrade I am getting two error messages (-42404) and (-50). Any ideas how to rectify?

Two Fatal Error Messages when Starting Photoshop

When I tried to start Photoshop CS6 Extended 64 bit today (out of the blue) I received two error messages and the program would not open:
1. Could not load actions because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered.
2. Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted).
I thought it had something to do with maybe deleting a monitor calibration file as I think there might have been a third message about that (who can remember all of this), so I recalibrated the monitor and the two message above continue and the program will not start.
Any ideas?

Sounds like general preferences corruption.
You will likely need to go through the three-key preferences deletion process in order to get Photoshop functioning again.
Press and hold Control, Shift, and Alt simultaneously immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you're quick enough to get the keys down, it will prompt you to delete all current preferences, which will lead to a reset of all preferences to defaults.

This can happen if you have an incorrect user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox). Some add-ons modify the user agent string causing it to show an old version of Firefox even if you have the latest version installed.

It is reporting that you have Firefox 2.0.0.16, but the user agent string may have been locked by the "Mnenhy" add-on
