Two errors at startup

While working on a project last night Logic crashed and I can't reopen it. Two error windows appear when I open the program.
the first is ^auto^Last^Last-1^Last-2^ ...etc through Last-11.
the second window is Audio File Audio 1#02.aif not found.
(This has been appearing for a few months but I just press "skip" and everything runs fine.)
Please help.

Hi WMR;
At only two months old, I would take it back to Apple and have them look at it. Something that new should not be acting that flakey.

  • Boot Camp error: The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Jounraled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.

    Hi!
    I am getting the error:
"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.  The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Jounraled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
I read up some on google, but all of them says that they have crated a partition and that is the problem, I only have the standard "Macintosh HD".
I tried to create a partition manually in disk utility but then the error message: "Partition failed with error message: Could not unmount disk."
Can anyone help me? It's driving me crazy.
    Thanks.

This message, and threads like yours got asked daily for over two years, now it is only a couple times a week!!
Is it so hard to follow through? you were to have backup already, clones are best, then erase/format and restore.
    Then partition.
Some have been able to use Disk Utility booted from OS X DVD or another drive, and repair the drive.
You have to use Boot Camp Assistant (99.9% anyway) to create and achieve a proper Windows Master Boot Record partition.

  • MBP Requires Two Attempts To Startup

My wife's MBP 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo OS 10.5.8 takes two attempts to startup at least 50% of the time. She thinks that the problem started around six months ago. It stalls at the white startup screen. Clicking the power button turns it off and then it invariably works fine the second time the power button is clicked.
The MBP is not connected to any peripheral devices and I cannot associate the start of the problem with an update or software installation. The MBP is essentially identical to our 24" iMac in terms of installed programs and its configuration. The iMac occasionally has the same problem but it is much less frequent in nature, perhaps one out of every 50 times it is booted up.
I could use some help diagnosing the source of the problem. If it may be a hardware-related problem I would like to know because the extended AppleCare warranty is up in October.

I would just reinstall OS X as follows:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • Fan error at startup in ibm thinkpad t42

i always get fan error at startup in my  ibm thinkpad t42 since 1 week. i press esc key at error and that is the only way my system startup. its not in warranty and will like to try to fix it on my own. please help. i am worried

Try bblowing some air into the fan lover when the system is off. Then turn the system on and put your hand at the louver to see if it blows air. If this doesnt work, run PC doctor for DOS ( available at  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-56222) and check the problem. If this doesnt work either, replace the fan.

I installed a Feb version of itunes (7.6.1.9) because I was not willing to waste any more time. **Make sure that you deselect the 3rd checkbox that says it will update other Apple software (incl QT). That was the mistake made over and over and over (and over)!

  • HP P6203W CPU fan error on startup windows 7 32bit system

    Hi there guys !
I got this HP computer for about a year now and since changing my broken CPU fan i got a CPU fan error on startup.
    I have got a HP P6203W
    MOBO: Pegatron Narra5
    Bios: phoenix technologies 5.55 12/08/2009
I wanted to reduce some noise from my computer by replacing the CPU fan,
so i changed the original fan for a Noiseblocker-Multiframe M8-S1.
Now when i start up the computer; the fan slowly turns around , and i then got an CPU fan error before windows fired up. I can get past it by pressing F2 but its annoying to do so every time i start up. Plus I don't think the fan is turning fast enough.
I already tried checking cpu fan settings in the bios, but i have the blocked bios.
    No fan settings here.
Do one of you guys have any clue about how to get my CPU fan working properly again or maybe a bios update for my motherboard ?
Any help would be very much appreciated !
    thanks for your time

    Hello willibrord87,
There isn't a BIOS update available for your motherboard so that is not going to be an option.
On some BIOS you have the ability to disable the system from checking the CPU Fan to avoid the error. If it's there it would be under Advanced menu and then a sub menu called Hardware Monitor. HP like many manufacturers lock out settings to avoid users changing settings to much in the BIOS so the system may not have the option. Since you said you already checked the settings I'm assuming we can skip this.
So it brings us to the motherboard. The CPU fan plug on the motherboard is a 12v connector, the Noiseblocker you have starts a slow ramp up based on this link http://goo.gl/6jsgn it says it's a start voltage of only 5v. I'm thinking that since the CPU fan is not starting up quick enough the motherboard is failing out and giving the CPU fan error. In the end the error is not a real error because once the CPU fan actually works then it's good to go.
You may want to try a different CPU fan that has a quicker spin up, or at least move that CPU fan to another system to see if it exhibits the same slow spin up.

  • Character set error during startup

    Hi all
This is a follow up of the following problem: Paralel Install of Ora8i and Ora9i
    Please read it before continue.
This seems to be a database problem, so that I post it here:
I'm going forward with my problem. It seems that's a problem with versions in the startup routine. When I try to start the instances with the 9i dbstart tool, all is going well.
Now I changed the oracle script in /etc/init.d in a was that it will explicitly start the 9i dbstart tool. Now the instances come up normally, except the following error during mount of the instance:
ORA-12709: error while loading create database character set.
For me it looks like an mistaken during the creation of the database. Or perhaps its again a version problem.
    Any clue around for this?
    Greetings
    Salvatore

    Ok Here the answers:
    1) Error during startup
    2) Error during startup
    3) Error during startup
The Oracle Environment seems to be OK. I can use all variables in the oracle script during OS boot.
I suspect that something is going wrong during the database creation. But in the Oracle Error Message Documentation I read "contact Support Services". So I'm unsure what to do. AFAIK we don't have a support contract, nor I can use any paid service.

  • Visual C++ runtime error on startup audition cs5.5 win8.1

After reinstalling Audition cs5.5, I get a visual C++ runtime error at startup.  I have never had a problem before on a reinstallation.  I have tried uninstall and reinstall without any success.  Is their a version of Visual C++ that is needed here?  Is this an incompatibility problem with Win 8.1?  Has anyone else had this problem?  I haven't had any luck in the FAQ section.

The only issues I've ever heard about involving this appear to have been caused by having too many versions of the run-time on a machine. I'm not entirely sure what the situation with software only running properly with the version it was intended to is, but apparently clearing out older versions (you can check this out and remove them if you want using the normal uninstall routine) has fixed this particular problem on at least one occasion. It's worth investigating, anyway.

  • Error on startup "dynamiclink manager has stopped working" CS6

So I bought the CS6 master collection, but keep on getting an error on startup of my programs. When I open After effects, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Audition, etc... I get the error "Dynamiclinkmanager has stopped working". The message appears on start up of the program, and the only way to get in is to keep on pressing "close the program" for few min until it loads. It is very annoying and takes forever to open a program. I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing, and that hasn't worked. Here are a few screenshots of the error:

Had the same problem with conflict between CS6 (Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, etc.] and Net Nanny.  Solution was as follows:
    1. Log onto Net Nanny Admin Tools
    2. Click on Application Exceptions
    3. Click Add
    4. Browse to folder containing "dynamiclinkmanager.exe".  On my computer (Windows 7 Pro) it was located in
         C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink\CS6
[I do have dynamiclinkmanager.exe elsewhere, but Net Nanny only allows you to identify a given file name once]
    5.  Select dynamiclinkmanger.exe, Open, OK
    6.  Repeat steps 3 to 5 but this time for "dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe" which I found in
         C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclinkmediaserver\1.0
    7. Click OK to accept application exceptions
    8.  Exit Net Nanny Admin Tools
    7.  On my computer Photoshop would now load without incident, but if necessary reboot.
NOTE:  Once I solved the dynamiclinkmanager stopped problem I then encountered an Adobe Media Core stopped problem when I started After Effects and Premier.  To resolve this second problem with Net Nanny I repeated the above steps adding the following application exception:
         "Adobe QT32 Server.exe"
         which I found in
         C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclinkmediaserver\1.0
[Again there are multiple copies of "Adobe QT32 Server.exe" but Net Nanny accepts only one, and I selected the one in "Program Files (x86)" and not the ones in "Program Files" because of this is where I also found dynamiclinkmanager.exe.  All works fine now.]
    Hope this works for you.

  • I did the recommended re-install to resolve the missing MSVCR80.dll file. This worked, but I am now stymied by two error messages: "Apple Mobile Device failed to start" and "Apple application support not found". How to overcome?

That worked, however I now get two error messages when I install I Tunes:
o  Apple Mobile Device failed to start.
o  Apple Application Support not found.
This were of course deleted in the recommended re-install procedure to resolve the dll file, but repeated uninstalls and installs simply bring up these two error messages with a recommendation to install I Tune again. Installing the new I Tunes version seems to be problematic per the discussion groups and has no simple solution. SHould not the Genius bar be able to resolve this at an Apple Store? Want to buy a new I Phone 5S, but this problem effectively stymies this.
