Two events not showing up in Events sidebar of iMovie

Hi, I'm currently using iMovie 10.0.7 on my 13" MacBook Pro and I discovered that I am missing two movies, which I imported sometime late January or early February. When I tried to re-import the clips, iMovie said that there already was an existing file with the same name. I went to the iMovie Library and CONTROL-Clicked to checked the package contents. The videos are there but I can't view them on the events sidebar of iMovie.
How do I make these videos visible on the Events sidebar? All my other movies are there except these two, did I hide them by accident? Can anyone help?

The Event directory contents looks normal. I can only think that there is something wrong in the .imovieevent files. These are SQLite databases describing the event contents but I can't interpret them.
I think the only thing you can do is to create 2 new events and re-import the media into them. You should be able to do this quite quickly for each event by selecting everything in the original media folder and dragging and dropping them into the event pane of the new event. I think you will have to re-create the projects though. The events will also be missing anything that had been imported from your iTunes or iPhoto library.
[If you want to be really adventurous change the new event names from within iMovie to the same as they were before and it is just conceivable that the projects using them may re-appear but the presence of the old versions may complicate matters - you would probably have to delete them first from the library. Unless you have invested a lot of effort in projects using these events I would not recommend trying this and if it goes wrong I won't be able to help you. Make first a backup of your library as you may well break the whole library.]

Devices are not showing up in Finder sidebar

All of a sudden attached devices are not showing up in the sidebar in finder nor on the desktop, have already checked Finder prefs and are all set correctly.
Cant access files on attached hard drive and cant dismount. Upon pulling the plug I get the warning about not ejecting the device first.

My Adsense Ads do not show on Wordpress Blog Sidebar. All that shows is a blank box. The Adsense ads show just fine in Internet Explorer. What is wrong here?

1.) a 300x250 block of yellow text ads just under the the post title
2.) a 300x250 block of yellow text or image ads at the top of the sidebar, and
3.) a 300x250 block of template color text or image ads just under the Blog Archive.
Incidentally, I can't see my blog at all at this moment because my company has disallowed viewing personal websites and blogs on their wifi. REAL bummer! Sitting in my truck waiting for dispatch and can 't work on my blog :-(
But I'd be grateful to know if anyone else can see these ads - I can, at least, view this website.

Device List does not show up in iTunes sidebar

Movies that I have downloaded do not show up on my TV. I went to iTunes and checked the movies as unwatched...they still don't show up. So, I reset AppleTV they still didn't show up. So then I went to ATV>settings>Computers>Add Itunes to ATV I get a response. Go to iTunes and select ATV under devices...only problem there are no devices listed in iTunes sidebar. How do I get devices to show up in the iTunes sidebar?????

Network issues and settings can stop the device appearing in itunes, common candidates are the firewall and 3rd party security software.
However if you have already had the tv set up correctly and you are looking to link a previously linked library, ensure that all references to the previous link have been removed (settings/computers on the tv and itunes preferences)

Mounted Volume Not Showing On Desktop or Sidebar

Our company uses a Mac Mini running OS 10.10 Yosemite to share files. File Sharing is setup to share contents on the Mac Mini with other Macs and PCs. Sharing is working fine. However, in the last couple days when logging into the Mac Mini the mounted volume (Mac Mini) no longer shows on the desktop, sidebar or when accessing the client hard drive. In order to access the Mac Mini after mounting via log in an alias to the Mac Mini needs to be created and access via the alias. Folders from the Mac Mini can be added to the side bar and accessed that way, but the main folder for the Mac Mini is only accessible through the alias. Preferences in the Finder are set to show mounted volumes and servers on the desktop.
Computers accessing the Mac Mini are running OS 10.6, 10.9, 10.8.

Check the settings in the General tab of the Finder's preferences.

Photos do not show up in iWork Apps or iMovie

My imported photos to the New 64 GB iPad with up to date software will not show up to import in over 50 percent of the cases. All I see is white blanks where they should be. Eavent the catagory photo is just multicolored lines. I solved some problems by exporting to ping, deleting the photos and reimporting them, then syncing, but it always leaves a bunch of stragglers. This seems to have happed with the latest iPad OS update. Anyone having similar problems?

It usually helps to provide info on what exactly you did and what the outcome is. Not showing up is not enough to figure this out. How did you send? Which app? Which mail service was used? Have you tried bcc-ing yourself to see what you get? What is the source of the photos?

Mac is not showing in Finder's sidebar anymore (network)

I have 2 Macs (an iMac and a MBP) connected to a router. The iMac is connected directly to the router (via cable) and the MBP is connected wirelessly. Usually both of them can access each other by just clicking on the Finder's sidebar where the other one appears automatically. As far as I know these things are done by Bonjour. This has been working great for a while now, but last weekend the issues began.
The problem is that my iMac doesn't appear in the Finder's sidebar of my MBP anymore. The weird thing is, that it works the other way round. This means that my MBP is showing up properly in the Finder's sidebar of my iMac and I can also connect to it. I can also connect to my iMac (from my MBP) manually via the "Go -> Connect to Server" function and enter something like "afp://192.168.0.104". So the AFP seems to work basically. I think that the problem is related to Bonjour, but I don't know how to fix it.
Btw both machines are running 10.6.4 with all updates.
Ok, so what I've tried so far:
- Repaired disk permissions (on both)
- Checked Finder sidebar settings: Bonjour computers is activated on both
- Checked File Sharing settings: AFP and SMB file sharing is activated on both
- Resetted router
- Restarted everything several times
Some additional information about my network configuration:
Router: 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0
iMac: 192.168.0.104: Direct cable connection, static IP address
MBP: 192.168.0.11: Wireless connection, dynamic IP via DHCP
The only thing that I recently installed is iLife '11 and the latest Mac OS Java update (via software update). Well, I'm not sure if the problem occured immediately after that or if the problem was already there before. But can these software updates really affect Bonjour?
Well, I'm really running out of ideas

Open Terminal.app located in Utilities folder in Applications folder.
Once Terminal is running use this command followed by hitting the return key.
drutil eject<hit return key>
CD/DVD should pop out.

Time capsule not showing up in HD sidebar

I have a Time Capsule, it is working but I can't seem to access it. It used to be under Macintosh HD/devices but now it is not there. What do I have to do to access it? It is running through airport right now. Do I need to reset it then start from scratch?

Thank you for that response. I will check that out. Being the impatient person that I am, I hit reset and now I can't even access it. I have a solid yellow light and can't get it back. Would you have any ideas on how to fix it? I guess a trip to the apple store will be on my list tomorrow.

Video not showing up in preview screen on iMovie & Photobooth not working

Its like all of a sudden a bunch of video programs on my Mac have stopped going.
I am running OSX Lion 10.7.3
I have recently installed Elgato Video Capture and have been recording old VHS tapes and editing in iMovie. Was having no problems at first. Then the picture in the preview screen disappeared, the sound was still going, then that went too. I am wondering if Elgato video capture has something to do with it..
When I go to old videos, they play fine.
I also noticed the camera wont load in photobooth anymore.
If anyone has any information on this or knows how to fix it, that would be great! Thanks

Had same problem on iPad. Go to settings. Look under privacy. Make sure you turn on iMovie under the photos heading. Might also need to enable location services for iMovie. Now I can see camera roll from iMovie.

External Mounted Hard Drive Icon Not Showing on Desktop nor on Sidebar

Bonjour,
I have a portable drive that does NOT show up in the Sidebar nor on the Desktop. The only way I can see and navigate through it is by clicking in Disk Utility > Mount Point: <hyper-link>
Then hard drive icon and its content show up fine. But the HD icon is slightly dimmed (it is paler than the all other - HD, computer, etc - icons).
I verified the external HD and it is just fine. I have another eDrive (TechTool Pro 4) partition and it shows up like any normal HDs normally does.
How can I get the icon to show up back into the Sidebar and the Desktop?
Is there a "Preference" file I need to throw out?
Is there a UNIX command I could execute to make it show up again?

I connect my iPad to my PC and open iTunes, but the iPad does not show up in sidebar. I want to sync. How do I do it?

I have my PC on, then plug in my iPad (which is on) and open iTunes. The iPad does not show up in the sidebar. How do you get it to show up so that I can select the iPad and then configure the sync settings in each of the settings panes....hoping that these actually show up.
In the manual it says "log in to your computer user account before connecting iPad". I am the only user of this PC...does this mean some other user account. I am confused. I need "baby steps" to tell me how to do all this....very senior and just learning about this wonderful machine. I will very much appreciate your help.

If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

The bookmarks sidebar will not show bookmarks. Even if I import them or restore them. In the menu bar they show up fine. How can this be fixed?

If I open the bookmark's sidebar it's empty. If I use the Menu Bar, the bookmarks are all there. I tried importing them from Internet Explorer but they still do not show up on the sidebar. I also tried restoring but they still don't show in the sidebar. After restoring and importing, I now see 3 bookmarks but that's all. I also am unable to delete those 3 bookmarks as "delete" is grayed out. Also, if I try to bookmark a page through the bookmarks in the menu bar, and I want to select a different folder, I can only see 5 items down, where as before I could choose if I wanted to save the bookmark in an existing folder of my creation which was further down. Is there a way to fix this?

hello Cronus, you might have to expand the default entries (toolbar, menu, unsorted) in your sidebar first before you get to your actual bookmarks/folders.
otherwise please try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once, to rule out the interference of any addons: [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
in order to specify the exact path of a newly created bookmark click on the arrow at the right side of the folder field as shown in the screenshot attached.

Laptop PC does not show up in Sidebar

How can I get the PC laptop to show up in the sidebar? I thought that was supposed to happen automatically?

I started up my virtual machine in VMware fusion and it also does not show up in the sidebar. It is strange since it showed up last time it ran. So did my neighbors computer.

My Apple TV does not show all of the movies in my library.

All are in the movies category, no home videos here. It almost seems to be movies that I have removed from a device. At least some of the ones not showing up were recently removed from my iPad. Came back from a trip and removed some of the movies that I had watched, but then my wife wanted to see them so we tried to pull them up on the Apple TV, but no luck. I am not 100% sure that they were showing up on the Apple TV before, but I know they have been watched on my iMac. I know all about the miscategorization of others but that is not an issue here. Any thoughts? Does the Apple TV have a limit??? Is it better to put them into a playlist when I want to see them? I have about 15 more to add and if still no luck I may reload iTunes and let it refind the library and see what happens. Thanks in advance for any help!
BTW my OS is iOS version 7.0.5, but that was not in the list.

I have the entire original Star Trek series on the computer, all tested, watched and working fine. They are all MPEG-4 video files, and I can watch them on multiple computers and TVs when pulling directly from my network. They are labeled "Star Trek Episode 15 Shore Leave" and so on. Before I went out of town I loaded episodes 1-12 onto my iPad to watch while traveling. Again, they played fine. When I returned I had only watched the first three, so when I resynced my iPad I removed those three (episodes 1-3) and put on some other movies. Tonight when I went to watch them on the Apple TV I find that those three specific episodes are missing from the Apple TV list, so the ST episodes start with #4. Just kind of weird. These episodes are all the same version, done at the same time, the same way, no differences between them, even in size. Must can't figure out what is keeping them off of the list but it seems to be more than just coincidence that the three I notice missing are ones that I just removed from my iPad.
Also as to the iOS version you are correct, my typo, should be 10.7.5.
Thanks for the help and just to clarify I checked with one of my purchased movies as well as the manual ones and two do not show up, both again removed with the last sync. But they are still in the library! Can't figure it.
