Two Iphone Contact/calendar Merged together issue

Me and my wife are using the same Apple ID, we both updated our phone today, she used her laptop and I used my Imac, the issue is both our calendar/contacts merged together, I now have all her Calendar event and contact
I started cleaning my contacts (her friends contact) on my phone and it affected her phone as well. When I delele a contact, it deletes the same contact on her phone
how can I change this ?

Same here. Not sure about fixing the contact issue but you can deselect which calendars are pulled in.
This contact thing is a problem. Any solutions out there?

your iCloud storage isnt part of your phone, that is a back up for your phone, you have to delete things on your phone, so I recommend backing up your photos to your computer or iCloud since im sure thats whats taking up all your storage, then delete the photos on your phone and then update your phone using iTunes on your computer.

Transfer iPhone contacts & calendars to brand new outlook 2007

Someone gave me an iPhone 3GS as a gift, I pressed the reset button and used outlook 2007 & itunes to sync my contacts & calendars.
Everything on my iPhone is fine.
My contacts & calendars in Outlook 2007 were accidentally in wrong orders by importing a backup file in pst format(Outlook Format).
For future synchronization ,I am afraid that my iPhone contacts & calendars will be in wrong orders due to the changes in Outlook 2007.
Can I transfer my iPhone contacts & calendars to a brand new outlook 2007 (without any data & resetting my outlook 2007)?
If not,any other solutions?
The main reason of this discussion is to make my Outlook contacts & calendars in correct orders and my iPhone contacts & calendars will not be affected.
Hopefully I have a backup .pst file with correct data on my harddisk.

The Synchronization dons’ not affect the order of how information’s are displayed between outlook and iPhone IOS. It only affects the content of your contacts and calendars information’s.
However, if you want to synchronize to a brand new outlook (this mean new Mail profile), you should create a new mail profile to use with outlook. Always make a backup of your iPhone and outlook before you modify any settings.
To create a new profile, go to Mail setting in the Control Panel or Execute control mlcfg32.cpl from C:\Programs Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX from the Command Prompt to access Mail directly.
From here you can display the main profile which iTunes using to synchronize your information’s (Show Profiles… Button). This one called generally outlook, it is created automatically as you execute your outlook for the first time.
Then you have to create a new one using ADD button, as you finish choose Always use this profile then drop down the menu to select the new created profile. Apply the new setting and restart your outlook.
Now you suppose to have the new profile of outlook, this let you synchronize your information with nonfactual content.
You can go back to the old profile by choosing it as the default one from Mail setting. Be careful not to synchronize with iTunes when the default profile is set to the old one.
Remark: in the Mail setting “mlcfg32.cpl “ if you choose the following option (Prompt for a profile to be used) then every time when you open outlook it will prompt you to select the profile that you need to work within, the problem that when iTunes want to synchronize your content it can’t select arbitrary on of theses profiles and this will dysfunction, so it is preferred that you select (Always use this profile) option.

I would like to update my contacts, but sync'd two iphone contacts to one

I have two iphones on my computer. When I recently updated, itunes synce'd both of our contacts together. HOw do I remove the other phones contacts from mine? Do I have to delete individually, because then the next time I update/sync...it will restore from the last backup which will include the contacts from the second phone. Any suggestions?

if you have them separate 'somewhere' it's not too difficult.. if you use mac.
i think there may be a fundamental error in how you tried to sync... separate iPhone requires separate USER if you want different contacts, OR you can make groups in addressbook (phoneone, phonetwo) and check that group to sync in iTunes.
if you have unmolsted (non merged) contacts somewhere, you can merge that into the SAME doubled addressbook but as soon as you do, grab the contacts in 'last import' and make a new group (i.e. phoneone). you can then go to the 'phone one' group, select all and delete.. that will leave only the contacts NOT in 'phone one'.
if there are over-laps than it gets tricker but if you can figure out what those are you can make add'l groups like 'common'... and you can select all the contacts NOT in common and also in phone one to leave only phone two alone.
if you have a good backup than it's even easier.. the likely goof is that you WERE using 'only sync groupone with phone one, grouptwo with phone two, but the setting got changed to sync all contacts.
there is a very helpful option in the info pane of iTUnes... 'replace contacts on next sync'..
if you restore addressbook to have the split groups, than pick the group you want to sync, then check the 'replace contacts on next sync' it will erase the ones you don't want from each phone as you do the next sync.

Calendars sync together issue :-(

All,
I have an iPhone running the latest IOS and I seem to have an issue. I have 3 exchange accounts and at some point two have become sync'ed together. One account is with the company and another is with Google. When I first started using the phone, 3-4 months ago, all was great, two seperate calanders and the notifications worked as it should. Now it seems that my Google entries have gone over to my work calendar. I know this by the duplicates and colors coordinating with that calander. For instance my family members borthdays have stayed in google but now appear on my work calendar...AHHH
Help me out. Any ideas?

IPhone contacts, calendar etc

My wife received a new iPhone for Christmas, which makes us a two iPhone family now. How can I set up separate contacts and calendars in iTunes for my wife's new phone.

The first time you enable over the air syncing for contacts and calendar events with a MobileMe account on your iPhone, all contacts and calendar events on your iPhone will be deleted and replaced with your MobileMe online contacts and calendar events or merged. After the initial transfer or merge, contacts and calendar events on your iPhone will be kept synchronized with your MobileMe online contacts and calendar events, which in turn will be kept synchronized with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac.

IOS4 Multiple Exchange Accounts (Contacts & Calendars) Merged or Separated?

Naturally I added my corporate exchange email, but not the calendar and contacts as i have my gmail via activesync doing my personal calendar and contacts.
If i ALSO enable contacts and calendars for my corporate account as well, I understand I will see both on the iPhone; however, I would like to know will my personal contacts and calendar entries get pushed to my corporate and vice versa? Or will they remain separate?
I imagine they would be separate and if I were to remove any of the accounts from my iPhone, the contacts, calendar, and email associated with that particular account will be removed from the iPhone, but leaving the contacts, email, and calendar on the iPhone of the account still remaining.
Is this correct?

They will remain separate and won't get cross-synced. However, duplicate contacts from each account will be linked together in the "All Contacts" section on the device. So if you have a Bob Smith in each account, they'll be linked together and shown as a single contact in "All Contacts". You can manually unlink any false-positives.

IPhone Contacts & Calendars not syncing with mobileme

Apologies if there is a solution to this posted already, I can't find it despite extensive searching!
My iPhone Calendars & Contacts do not sync with MobileMe. I can't find a way of exporting or saving the data on the iPhone and importing it into my desktop iCal & Contacts apps.
I have looked at all troubleshooting help I can find, and all is suggested is deleting/ resetting the phone & syncing from MobileMe. However, if I do this I will lose lots of contacts & calendar entries.
The data will NOT sync from my phone despite following all available instructions. My desktop apps are all set to sync with MobileMe & this works fine, it's just the iPhone data will not transfer to MobileMe.
Please help!!

Since you are syncing your iPhone with your Mac, it should be syncing your contacts and calendars with your Mac as well (and your bookmarks if you have it set up to sync). You should have Mobile Me setup on your Mac to at least sync your Calendars and Contacts, which should be updating your Mobile Me account. If you want to check to make sure that all of your contacts that are on your iPhone are on your Mac, simply open up the Contacts App. Once you check this, add your Mobile Me account to your iPhone and let it sync your contacts and calendars, it will delete all the contacts and calendars that are currently on your iPhone, but the same data is on your Mac anyways. Once Mobile Me syncs with your iPhone you won't have to worry about it anymore.
If you are having problems where you already setup your Mobile Me account on your iPhone and it's not syncing properly, deleted it, restart your iPhone, then add it again.

Got a new PC and already authorized my computer. I've also downloaded previously purchased apps already. The thing is how do i back-up the contacts & calendar entries from my iPhone to my computer? I'm afraid it might be all deleted if i sync it to iTunes.
I've already checked the box in Preferences that says not to automatically sync devices.

Please enlighten me on this. I'm not familiar much on these computer stuffs... So do i connect my iPhone on my PC and open Outlook Express first and try to import contacts from my phone? I haven't tried this so i have no idea how it works... Or do i go straight to iTunes after i connect my phone and go to info tab?

HT1386 iPhone contacts/calendar

Not all my Contacts and Calendar events from my iphone 4 back up to my iMac's address book, which means my new iphone 5 cannot sync properly. This means not having all info from one phone to the other correctly.

I did what you said, and noticed that if I do a change in the calendar or contacts, it is very soon updated on both iphones, which means the iCloud is working, thanks.
However, the contact/calendar info on the iphone 4 are still not synced with the Address Book / iCal of my iMac so that they would be then synced with the iphone 5.
Strange!!

Multiple iPhones, Contacts & Calendars

My wife and I each have an iPhone and we use the same computer as two different users. I would like to know how to set my iPhone to sync with my Outlook calendar and contacts and for her iPhone to sync with her Outlook calendar and contacts. Can someone please help me? Thank you!

The best and almost easiest option for Mac and Windows. Is to make sure each of you have your own user account on the PC/Mac.
This gives you both your own account, your own desktop. That way you are not sharing any information. Almost like having 2 computers.
Once this is done you both can have iTunes, iCal, etc. And all your information will be separate. Just simply log onto the user that belongs to you. And Sync your data.

Outlook & iPhone 3GS: calendar date change issue.

I am using Outlook 2007 & iPhone 3GS - both fully updated.
When I set up a recurring full day event (such as a birthday) in Outlook and then sync with iPhone the dates get changed and moved by a day or two (ahead of time). This does not happen with regular appointments that are only set up for an hour or so. It seems to be only with full day events? The change is also made in Outlook - like the iPhoen takes precedence.
Can someone help please? This is a real pain in the ***.

can you confirm that the "software release" for your OS is 10.3.1.1565 ?
I did this to try :
create a calendar event on my Passport, set for sunday 8th, and save it, and close the calendar app
open the calendar app, go to that even and edit it.
I can click on the "All Day" line, right under the participants list, this opens a new page
In that page, I have:
at the top the date
followed by the 7 days of the week
right underneath a line with two dropdown menus : Event Starts / Event Ends
and then a line with the Timezone, and the toggle "All day" that is set to ON
and finally a dropdown menu for repetition.
I can tap on the "Event Starts" dropdown menu, and it opens and I can choose another date.
Do you confirm that this is what you are trying to do?

The ipod is not a backup device. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. the exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old comptuer, to your new one.

ICloud and a stolen IPhone - Contacts & Photos merged

I had my IPhone stolen a month ago and thought everything had been disabled remotely. Apparently, not, as I am now receiving photos and have contacts via Icloud from whoever has my phone. Can ICloud trace the stolen phone somehow?

You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)
