Two iPhones not communicating together properly??!! HELP PLEASE
my wife's iPhone is not receiving texts from me and when she sends texts to my iPhone the number it is received comes through as my own?? Very confused. Help.
You have configured both devices to use the same e-mail account for iMessage.
Go into Settings>Messages>Receive at and make sure you each have your own e-mail address entered.

i bought a iphone 3gs off a family member and its on o2 i activated the o2 sim in a bb because o2 support advised me to activate on different phone as mine will not sync it says sim is not installed to iphone on itunes can anyone help please ...?
cheers for the reply mate yeah she said that its locked to o2 so i done all i mentioned above also spoke to a o2 advisor and he didnt have a clue its stupid i have searched the internet for this problem and cant find a thing i cant be the only person to have it happen lmao its well annoying and stupid if you ask me nothing is simple these days ow well guess i will have to go to the apple store

Ipod could not be identified properly - HELP!
Whenever I connect my Ipod, I get the following message on itunes:
An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly.
Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again.
I have tried that, restarting the computer, repairing itunes, removing and reinstalling itunes, and restarting the iPod service.
Help, somebody, please?

Well close iTunes, and tell me what drive letter the iPod shows up as in Windows.
Maybe changing the drive letter to something else would help. Way further down in the alphabet, like Q or W.

I have switch the setting on my iPhone to manually manage music and back and it still won't sync the new musiccutwright 93,
I have a 4s, and I've had that problem, too. I've tried every method mentioned on the boards. If Ellips's suggestion didn't work, try this, and please let me know if it worked:
(I did the following while the phone was connected to my pc...if that makes a difference.)
1. On the phone, go to Music.
2. Click "More."
3. Click "Shared."
4. My phone lists "iPhone" and my iTunes Libary. Try clicking the name of your music library.
5. Wait until the circle makes its loop.
The synch still failed to complete, but all of my music was on my iPhone, again. Whew. -

My Apple desktop computer, 2.4 GHz Intel duo core, OS 10.6.8, stopped recognizing the WD My Book connected via firewire. It works fine with the USB port so it's not the drive. Help please?
It can be the bridge. It could need firmware update. or the FW ports may be an issue. LaCie seemed to invent the phrase/tip 'resetting firewire ports' due to the issues with their drive cases.
You can try an SMC Reset.
So far I have avoided name-brand and tend to see them mentioned. Often with a new OS (though you are on 10.6.8, but when 10.6 came out there was a common complaint and thread of users: FW or USB worked but not the other interface). -

Thanks for your answer. Apprciate it very much. Just prior to receiving your email, I got back online. However, as I had tried what you suggested (and a lot more as I am 'reasonably' competent), and had been so doing since yesterday afternoon, I do believe that what you suggested was correct - that it was my third rate ISP that was at fault.
