Two iPhones + One Mac = One Shared Photo Stream (Impossible?)

Please can someone give me a straight forward answer to this question? I have read through the other similar forum questions and I still don't feel that I have found a definitive answer / solution.
Is it possible to do the following please:
Two iPhones + One Mac = One Shared Photo Stream (i.e. three devices that all have access to and update the Photo Stream as photographs are taken)
If so, how?
If not, am I really the only person that wants to do this?
Thanks (in anticipation).

  • Why can't I upload any pictures to one of my shared photo streams?

I tried to upload my photos to one of my shared photo streams but they never appear there after i post them. i am using the latest software update for iphoto.

Have you tried to disable hardware acceleration?  (I don' know if this is actually an option on Mac.)

  • TS3989 I had photos on my camera roll on my old phone, bought a new one and selected those photos to be a shared photo stream but when I sent it to my wife and opened it on my new phone it says there are no photos shared - these photos are more than 30 da

Just bought a new iPhone 5 and wanted to send pics from my camera roll on my iphone 4 as a shared photo stream to my new phone and my wife's phone.
I selected the pictures and created the photo stream and it showed up on my new phone and she was able to accept invite, but when opened the stream contained 0 photos and a message that says "No Shared Photos"
These pictures were admitedly older than 30 days. Is that the rule that pictures from your camera roll older than 30 days cannot be shared as photo stream?
I apprecaite all guidance on this issue. For those answering - yes everything else photostream wise is connected and working so there's no issue with setup - my question simply is can a user upload photos older than 30 days from the camera roll to a shared photostream?
    Thank you

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
30 days is only applicable to My photostream and even then it applies from the time they were added not mwhen they were taken (unless it's the same time)
I'd be inclined to restart your wife's phone and see if that helps, otherwise you might try turning photostream off and on again on her phone.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • Shared photo stream quality issue

Shared photo stream FAQ states that:
"Shared Photo Streams supports JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and most RAW photo formats. On your Mac or PC, your photos are downloaded and stored in full resolution. On your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple TV, your Photo Stream photos are delivered in a device-optimized resolution that speeds downloads and saves storage space. While actual dimensions will vary, an optimized version of a photo taken by a standard point-and-shoot camera will have a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution when pushed to your devices. Panoramic photos can be up to 5400 pixels wide."
Since I'm a little OCD about photo organization, I collect and organize all the photos my girlfriend and I take. She shares all of her picture from her iPhone 5s on a shared photo stream and I import them to iPhoto on my MBP. However, I have just realized to my great surprise that all her picture were downgraded in 2048 x 1536, even though I have downloaded them to my Mac. Anyone has the same issue or has any idea what is going on? The FAQ clearly said that they would be downloaded in full definition, but they aren't, which is really annoying as we often do large books for which the higher resolution is necessary, not to mention my retina display screen and 4K monitor.

You should double check your and your daughter's icloud ID as currently set, because what you describe happens when two people share the same icloud account  (and I assume you are talking about a "photo stream" and not a "shared photo stream").
Settings>icloud, be sure the accounts are different.

  • Photo stream is showing up in iphoto recent but not web and I am not able to join the shared photo stream.  all of my software is updated.  can someone tell me how to get photo stream in the web source list? thanks!

Can someone help me get Photo Stream to appear under Web in the iPhoto Source List? I have updated all my software.  iPhoto 11, Mac OS X 10.7.5  All of my preferences are checked.  I am able to see the shared Photo Stream on my iPad, but not my Mac.  The Mac iPhoto photos from the shared photo stream are appearing in the Photo Stream (under Recent), but I thought they would appear as a shared Photo Stream in its own file/album (like on the iPad and iPhone)  - labeled with the shared Photo Stream's title.  Is this supposed to happen on the Mac?  Thanks!

So you are saying for it to do what i want: shared photo stream to appear in web then i need to upgrade.
    Yes
Does that mean i purchase the new software an it's not just an update?
    Yes
Your profile indicates your running 10.7.5.  For shared Photo Streams you need to be running 10.8.2 or later: The following is from  iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:  iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
So you'll need to upgrade to Mt. Lion.
iPhoto requirements are free updates for iPhoto '11

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

I have several iCloud shared photo streams . They all download fine into my iPhone, but one doesn't download into my MacBook. Any suggestions?

Tried that too over the weekend,I unchecked the Photos option in iCloud preferences in System, let iPhoto do it's thing, then restarted the Mac, and turned iCloud Photos back on again... it looked promising the first hour... but then stopped downloading 20 or so albums. I have over 80 shared albums created over the years.
Also, the albums it did download, sometimes they're not even complete nor in any particular order.
I did exactly what you did. It took two days, but slowly all shared streams came back.
If the photo streams do not reappear, try if removing the content of this folder will help: It contains the photos downloaded from the shared streams. Perhaps one photo is corrupted.
    ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub-shared/
    Quit iPhoto
Move the folder above from your User Library to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.

  • Only One Photo in a Shared Photo Stream is Displayed

I have a persistent yet simple problem with iCloud Shared Photo Streams.  Either when I am sent an invitation for a Shared Photo Stream or create one myself the Shared PS properly appears in the iPhoto Photo Stream window and when I hover over the icon the correct number of photos contained is shown.  If I double-click to open the window ONLY one photo appears - always the first photo in the stream.  I am never able to view the whole content of the stream on my iMac - although the streams appear correctly on my iPad, my iPhone, another iMac and on the machines of friends I send stream invites to.  I have tried many things:  quit iPhoto and restart, restart the machine, delete all iLife prefs in the Library, delete iLifeAssetManagement in Library>Application Support, change Libraries, started from a different User, updated iPhoto several times, a complete restore and reinstall of the OS, saying prayers to the iLife gods and crossing my fingers.  None of this has helped.  It seems clear to me that my problem is not with my iMac, nor with my OS, nor really with iPhoto itself - but involves the interaction of iPhoto library files with iCloud.  Having said that, I have no idea how to proceed next.  Any thought would be welcome.

Thanks for the thought, Larry - but I have turned off all iCloud on all devices and - oops, but wait.  I've done that - but I haven't then rebooted them all.  I'll try that tomorrow morning.  In the meantime, here's one more small clue.  When this first happens I get a crash file in ~Library/Preferences named com.apple.iLifeAssetManagdement.crash.plist.  It's too cryptic for me but it says:

  • How can I set up two iPhones with the same contact, photos, music etc... but a different sim card and phone number. They will both be my phones, but one will be for use in other countries.

How can I set up two iPhones with the same contact, photos, music etc... but a different sim card and phone number. They will both be my phones, but one will be for use in other countries.

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
    Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

  • HT201317 can more than one person post photos to a shared photo stream?

can more than one person post photos to a shared photo stream?

No.  At the present time, only the person creating the shared photo stream can add or delete photos.

  • Why is my shared photo stream taking up space on my iPhone when I have turned off photo sharing?

I have an iPhone 5c with iOS 8.3. It's only an 8GB iPhone, so I only have about 5.2GB of space to use. So I have to be very picky about what stays and what goes on my iPhone. Photos is one of those things that don't stay on my phone long. I have deleted all of my pictures out of my albums (both camera roll and recently deleted) and there can be no photos found in my library. In settings, I turned off all photo sharing capabilities, so I shouldn't be getting shared photos from family members on my phone and stuff. So why does my storage say that shared photo stream is taking up 54.6MB? I would like it to say 0MB. Am I missing something? I've included a couple screenshots to help clarify things. Thanks for your help!

This is what I mean. I'm seeing the 3.9 KB usage for Photo Stream under General>UIsage>Photos and Camera, nothing to do with the storage on iCloud and I have Photo Stream and everything to do with iCloud and photo sharing off. However, I may have had Photo Stream on before for a few weeks before I turned it off long ago. Could that data/used space just be a few photos that were once in Photo Stream before I turned it off if I've had it on before?

  • HT201317 Shared Photo Stream on iPhone 4S??

I have updated my phone to iOS6 & I wanna turn on my shared photo stream service on my iphone but when i go to iCloud settings and tap on photo stream, there is only one option and that is "My photo stream" and I can't find shared photo stream!! but i easily turned it on on my ipad!! someone help me!

Try going to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (Note: before deleting the account, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them.  To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.)  This will only delete the account and your synced data from your phone, not from iCloud.  You data will sync back to your phone when you sign back in.
After deleting the account, sign back in and turn your data syncing back to on.  Then see if Shared Photo Streams appears in settings now.

  • Shared photo stream & deleting photos from iPhone

    Hi guys,
Ok so I have shared photo streams on my phone (mostly started by me), with friends and family. I am reaching full capacity of my phone and thus need to delete the pictures stored in my iPhone (the ones Stored in my phone, not the shared photo stream ones). I've already transferred them to my computer so they are ready to be deleted. what my question is that if I clear up the photos stored in my phone, will the shared photo stream be affected by this aswell? as mostly pictures shared on photo stream are by my photo library in the phone which i am going to delete. If yes than is there a way to clear up my phone from the stored photos without affecting the shared photo streams that I am sharing?... I remember i tried doing this last year when I upgraded to a iPhone 5s and ended up completely deleting my shared photo stream. Don't want that to happen again. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks

    anyone?
